I had an amazing experience on the Ghosts and Dark Stories of Rome tour with Ariel as our guide! She was fantastic, very knowledgeable, and made every story so interesting and atmospheric. Her storytelling brought Rome’s mysterious past to life. She was friendly, engaging, and made sure everyone enjoyed the experience. Highly recommended! Wonderful tour through the streets and back alleys of Rome. Many memorable stories of Rome’s dark past - from torture, executions, questionable popes - and everything in between. We went on Halloween night which made it even spookier. Communication prior to tour was excellent, meet up spot was easy to locate, guide was very friendly and knowledgeable.

This tour was a lot of fun at a great price. Maria was a great guide, great sense of humor and very knowledgeable about the subject. It is great if you love learning about history not always on the history books. At the end you wish it lasted longer.

Excellent tour! We did a different ghost tour a couple years ago and loved it. This one was even better! The young lady, whose name I can't remember, was very knowledgeable and kept things very interesting. I highly recommend booking this tour!

Easy to find and meet our guide. Elena (sp?) was knowledgeable, funny, and accommodating of water, photo, and bathroom breaks and gave great local food recommendations. Good dark history with a few ghosts thrown in. Some very historic spots seen, and some hidden Rome gems pointed out. Fun to do with a drink in hand from a local establishment.

This tour made our whole day. The nightly atmosphere was faszinating and the tour guide arielle made the experience even lovlier and super fun! Its a great vibe. The small groups make things far more comfortable

It was okay. I feel like she didn’t really know her stuff. But it was fun? Very okay, more myth than history for me. Also she really couldn’t project well. She was hard to hear.

Absolutely phenomenal. Our guide Alice was informative and hilarious. We wandered through the streets of Rome learning about poisoners, twisted families and the og feminist helping women. The twisted dark evening was the perfect experience for my husband and I and we could not recommend it enough. 10/10 Alice was fantastic!!!

This tour was ok but we found the stories a bit random, it wasn’t spooky enough to be a ghost tour, or historical enough to be a history tour. Guide Mari was lovely, meeting arrangements were good. If you’re looking for a night time stroll around Rome with some random tales it’s fine.

Would have been amazing if our guide knew anything about the sites. This was the most bizarre tour ever, not because of the locations but because our guide read from an iPad the entire tour.

My partner and I thought this tour was fantastic! Our guide was knowledgeable, engaging and clearly had a lot of experience - the stories were delivered smoothly and succinctly at each stop but in a conversational manner with a lot of passion and enthusiasm for Rome's dark history and the people that feature within it. If, like me, you like to use ghost tours as a way to walk the lesser-known back streets of a city and to take in the vibes and the character that way, then this tour is also perfect for you. We passed through some stunning side streets and back alleys, each one brimming with charm, history and beautiful architecture to draw the eye. We also passed through what seemed like a pretty chiq neighbourhood with many intriguing bars and restaurants (we will definitely return to). Finally, the views of the basilica and the river from the bridge as the sun was setting were gorgeous, all whilst being entertained by macabre tales of Rome's dark side! What's not to love?

I have done lots of ghost tours in many towns I visit. This was good but surprised by lack of more specific encounters. Our guide was very helpful and friendly though.

Our guides Althea and Ben were absolutely fantastic! Professional, scholarly, and super friendly! They provided a blend of horror and humor while maintaining respect for the locations and an understanding of their audience. Highly recommend if you want to hear more the more intimate (and of course dark!) tales of Rome and its neighborhoods.

What a fantastic way to end our visit to Rome. We had a lovely dinner in the Square before meeting up with the group and our wonderful guide, Alethea. Lots of interesting facts about the streets of Rome and all the crazy things that went on. You could tell straight away that Alethea was excited to share her knowledge and all the gruesome details.

We did the Dark Side of Rome tour and our guide (we think Ben) was witty and informative. We learned some local history that we would not have learned! Walking through the cobbled lanes scenic and Rome is even more beautiful in the moonlight. Midway through we stopped at a cafe and got Aperol spritzes for the walk. Would recommend!

We had such a great time on the tour. Ben was funny and engaging. He taught us so much. even my friend who was born and raised in Italy and a history enthusiast was surprised how much he learned.

We had the best tour with Alethea! The pace was great, she's got such funny comments to add in too which kept us entertained. We try and do tours like this wherever we go and it's rare to get such a good guide and also a decent crowd that attends too. We lucked out with this one, I would definitely recommend.

Amazing guide (forgotten her name but from Canada!), very knowledgeable about Italian history and kept us entertained all evening. She checked in on our daughter regularly who is a wheelchair user and made sure she was ok, tour was very accessible for her, just a bit bumpy on a couple of back streets but we expected that. Learned lots about Rome that we wouldn't have usually & a greater appreciation for looking up! Highly recommend this tour & would do it again!

We always take a city ghost tour as a different way to experience the city and this was one of the better ones. The stories were really well delivered by our enthusiastic Irish guide were a good mix of gruesome historical fiction with a bit of myth. A couple of belters especially the last one. Not really a ghost tour per se and like a lot of these talk of hauntings is a bit tacked on and not substantial. Overall, a pleasant way to walk the city at night with a few well told tales!

Myself and my 13 year old daughter attended. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Our tour guide Oriel (or Ariel) kept it super well-paced, interesting and with just the right amount of darkness. Seeing the sights at night was incredible! Highly recommend.

We had a fantastic experience with this tour. The storytelling was engaging and brought the city’s darker history to life in a way that was fascinating and fun for all ages. Our guide, Alithia, was excellent—knowledgeable, charismatic, and great at keeping everyone involved. Even better, our three kids really enjoyed it, which made the tour a highlight of our time in Rome.

Due to me being temporarily navigationally embarrassed, we very nearly missed the start of the tour. I messaged the tour operator in a bit of a panic, but our guide Ben replied quickly and kindly said not to worry — he’d wait for us. That level of customer service immediately set the tone. After arriving a few minutes late, we jumped straight into the darker side of Rome’s history — murders, ghosts, political intrigue, and even the lengths some mothers would go to in order to make sure their sons ended up on the throne. The storytelling was brilliant and really brought the history to life. There was also a well-timed stop for a beer along the way, and we were shown the cursed steps where the king’s daughter famously rode her chariot over him. Ben was funny, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable, and he made the whole experience engaging from start to finish. I would thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Rome — just make sure you know where you’re going… or hope you get a guide as patient as Ben!

We did the ghost tour with Ben and it was fantastic. Lots of great stories, great atmosphere and lots of history you won’t find anywhere else! The tour is two hours but certainly didn’t feel like it. Well worth the money. Would totally recommend!
