Sam was a great guide! Very informative. There seemed to be a slight change to the itinerary. Originally it was billed as a tasting a winery, then travel to a sandwich shop . The tasting ended up at a restaurant with great views accross the street from the sandwich shop,and the wines were all delicious. However, we booked this hoping to learn about and purchase some wines at a winery estate. The restaurant was quite busy, so we did not have time to explore and purchase.

This was an amazing day. If you are on the fence…book it! Our guide was so warm, friendly and knowledgeable. She knew the people in the town and we felt so spoiled. This tour is peaceful and you get a taste of Italian lifestyle. It truly was a perfect day!

This was a fantastic tour of the beautiful countryside just a few miles outside of Rome. Exceeded the description in the advert. Too many things to list but the highlights were the wine tastings overlooking a magnificent lake and the extended visit and tour of Pope Leo's summer escape in the hills at Castel Gandolfo. Our private guide, Giuseppe, was very informative and entertaining as was our driver Arturo. Add this tour to your time in Rome and you won't be disappointed.

Amazing picturesque towns and wonderful food and wines. We had no idea these beautiful little villages existed just an hour south of Rome. Antoniella was a great guide and made sure our visit was extremely relaxed and enjoyable.

Escape the hustle and bustle of City Center Rome and get out to the Roman countryside. Beautiful landscapes with quaint little villages around a lake. Charming cobblestone streets and shops in an unpopulated area, what a refreshing change from the hustle and bustle of the city. We enjoyed amazing winetasting at a historic restaurant established in 1882. The same family has owned and ran the restaurant so you can definitely feel family love of this establishment. They have one of the most amazing wine sellers we have visited. Do not miss this multigenerational gem as you enjoy the beauty of the Roman countryside.

We had a great experience on this tour overall. First, I want to highlight our tour guide and driver, Antonietta & Pietro. They were both excellent—very friendly, professional, and never rushed us at any point. Our tour was completely private, just my wife and me. They picked us up right on time at 10 AM from our Airbnb and communication before and during the tour was very good. The drive about 35–40 minutes south of Rome was beautiful, and the places we visited were very nice. The food and wine we tried were also very good and felt very authentic to the region. The only reason this is not a 5/5 experience for us is the visit to the wine cellar, which also serves as a small wine museum. This felt like the most important part of the tour, but unfortunately there was very little explanation about the wines or the history of the cellar. There was a lot to see and many wines displayed, but neither the tour guide nor the restaurant staff explained much about them, which made that part feel a bit confusing and incomplete. Other than that, the experience was wonderful. It’s also worth mentioning that if you are specifically looking for a detailed wine tasting tour, this may not be the best option. This tour is more about enjoying the Roman countryside, visiting small towns, trying local food, seeing beautiful places, and tasting some wines along the way. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking for a romantic and private day exploring the countryside outside of Rome.

This was a wonderful experience!! I would highly recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a relaxed and a peaceful excursion… without extensive walking. The countryside was absolutely beautiful. And the wine was delicious.

Juliana did a fabulous job coordinating this tour. She was personable, friendly and easy to communicate with. Each of the stops was beautifully coordinated and we weren't rushed. All eight members of this tour agreed this was a memorable way to end our ten days in Italy. Thank you, Juliana, for making this so special!

Our tour team of our guide Antoinette and our driver, Pietro were both great. Many stories told and an indepth history of all we saw. We now have 2 more wonderful friends. The wine and food throughout the tour was excellent. Met many great people and tasted some fabulous wine. Would definitely do this tour again!!

Antoinette guided us on a Roman countryside tour to Lakes Albano and Nemi where she took us to a quaint little village to do shopping and sightseeing. We then proceeded to restaurant Pagnanelli for wine tasting and hors d’oeuvres, which was delicious. Antoinette was a very gracious and informative tour guide. We highly recommend requesting her for this trip in particular.

Great guide and driver would do it again tomorrow. Villages were quaint and I would have otherwise missed them.

While our tour was good and our guide was excellent, I think the company is somewhat shady. We scheduled the tour for 10:30 am and it was confirmed by us and by them multiple times. The day before the tour they changed the time to 9 am and then changed it again to 8:30 am. One of our group was not able to make a tour that was 2 hours earlier than we had booked and he would have never have committed to that time or this tour at that time. When we requested a return of his portion of the money citing their change of the contract, it was denied with no explanation. For them to keep $182.68 when the issue was entirely their fault is very poor business practice.

The tour guide and driver were excellent. I would have given this tour 5 stars except for the vehicle that they used. It was a VW van and we were in the small 3rd seat. We are 6’3”:and 5’8” so it was very cramped. In addition, the air conditioning in the van was not working properly and it was extremely warm in the 3rd seat.

This tour was amaizng. Antoinette and Josh were exceptional. Antoinette was extremely knowledgable and got outside of Rome to see some of the best of the countryside. Highly recommend this tour!

We had a wonderful tour, just the two of us, with a wonderful guide and driver. Castel Gondolpho was the highlight of the trip and especially the wine tasting at a beautiful restaurant overlooking the lake. Highly recommend.

This is an excellent tour to see beautiful areas outside Rome. We selected this tour at the last minute because another tour was cancelled. I am so Very glad we did. We visited Castel Gandolfo and Nemi, both delightful towns. We had a fantastic lunch overlooking beautiful Lake Albano and had several wonderful wines. This was truly a wonderful day and our guide, Pino was perfect. I highly recommend this tour.

Having seen many of the required attractions in Rome, we looked for a way to relax a bit. Maybe a drive in the country!! This tour took us to Lake Gondolfo and the Saint Gondolfo Cathedral that has been visited by the Pope. The lake is nestled inside a volcanic caldera. The site is breathtaking. We toured a wine cellar and tasted local wines. We sat on the balcony of the Ristorante Pagnanelli sipping wine accompanied by tastes from the area. What a great way to relax after a heavy tourist schedule. Did I say it was beautiful?

Antoinette & Enzo were fabulous! We could not have asked for a better experience. We felt so lucky to have such marvelous guides, who assisted every step of the way. Friends from the ship knew that they had missed out on their "shore excursion". I would use them again in a heartbeat!

This tour was amazing. I went with my mom and she loved it too. The staff is great and they make you feel very special. The sites were breathtaking and good shopping too. I had an amazing time and would even consider going again if I ever get back to Roma.

First, we thought this was a small group tour...well as it turned out we were the only ones who booked that day Aug 17, 2018 so voila....private tour. Antonietta was our awesome guide along with Adam our driver. Castel Gandolfo is a pretty little town along the rim of an ancient volcanic lake. We started our day in town with a tasting in a local shop. From there we went for a pairings lunch to Ristorante Pagnanelli - one of the owners was our host....what a special treat. The was setup on their balcony overlooking the lake. Breathtaking. From here we experienced likely the best porcetta I have ever had My wife is Italian and she agreed. And ended the day in Nemi for an excellent strawberry treat. And for a surprise last visit we stopped at a McDonalds on the way home. I wont tell you what this was about...youll just have to experience it for yourself. </p> <p>..didnt hesitate....you wont be disappointed</p>

We have been to Rome many times before and this time around we wanted to do some different, get away from the city. This was the best tour we have ever taken in Rome. The scenery is beautiful, the food is amazing, and the wine is out of this world. The icing on top of the case for us were our tour guide and our driver, Antoinette and Joseppe. They were both so thoughtful, caring, and energetic. They really made the tour that much better. Thank you both for such a wonderful day!!!

My husband and I booked this on our fourth day of a 5 day trip to Rome. It was so nice to get out of the city (even though it wasn’t that far away) and have a fun relaxing day taking in the views of the gorgeous countryside, drinking wonderful wine, and eating some delicious food. Our guide, Antionette, and driver, Stefano, were both so fun and nice. Stopping at Pagnanelli restaurant was a unique and fun experience. The owner is fourth generation owner and he came out personally to serve and explain each wine. Seeing the wine cellar was amazing! The surprise stop on the way back to the city was something we didn’t expect and was an amazing sight to see! Would definitely recommend this tour, especially if you’re looking for a fun relaxing day out of the city.

<p>We enjoyed this tour very much. Both the guide and the driver were fun to be with...and very helpful. Only set back was the weather. It was very cold and raining. Otherwise, the whole tour was great.</p>

<p>Highly recommended. It was everything as described and our tour guide and driver were fantastic. It started raining just as we got to the vineyard so we couldn't finish the tour there. Instead our guide took us on a brief tour of Rome when we got back to the city.</p>

<p>This was a lovely day trip, and the driver and guide were phenomenal, but the things we experienced were not those mentioned in the description of the trip. We were never offered any porchetta, popped biscuits or gelato at the places visited. On returning, I had to reread the trip summary because I started to doubt my memory of it. I think maybe there should be more honesty about what is actually offered, so the expectations will be valid.</p>
