Itinerary
Together with a private guide, guests will discover the highlights of the extensive collection at the Vatican Museums. This private Vatican Tour also includes the fastest possible skip the line access. Explore the Pinecone Courtyard and Belvedere Courtyard, along with the Hall of the Muses, Round Room, and Gallery of the Candelabra. Admire intricate tapestries from some of Raphael's pupils in the Gallery of Tapestries, and historical maps by the Vatican cartographers in the Gallery of the Maps. Do you have a special request or particular interest? Please let me know so I can tailor your experience. We’ll go at your pace and linger as long as you like at the masterpieces. That’s the benefit of having a private guide just for you and your group!
One of many open-air courtyards located in the Vatican Museums, this is one of the first you will visit. Named for the giant bronze pinecone sculpture that dominates the space.
Located in the Pinecone Courtyard, Arnaldo Pomodoro's "Sphere within a Sphere" is one of the museum's more famous pieces of modern art on display. Different iterations of this sculpture are on display throughout the world. Give it a spin!
They call them the "Vatican Museums" because they are comprised of many smaller museums, or "wings". The Pio Clementino Museum is the first you will come across on your private tour, and the most important - encompassing the largest number of highlights. Here you will find the Round Room with its giant bronze sculpture of Heracles. You will also find the Room of the Animals, with it's impressive collection of lifelike sculptures of everything for turtles and horses to lions and bears. In the Octagonal Courtyard you will encounter the Laocoön, the very first statue of this collection as well as the the Apollo Belvedere. In the Room of the Muses you will find the famous, twisting, Belvedere Torso. Admire the 3D painted ceilings of the Candelabra Gallery.
Head with your guide to the Gallery of the Maps and get a perspective of the world how it was five centuries ago. These exquisitely detailed, hand-painted giant maps are a favorite of the Vatican Museums. See if you can find the Italian cities you have visited, or spot the nod to Christopher Columbus' journey to the Americas.
Famous painter Raffaello frescoed this series of rooms in the Vatican Museums. Discover them together with your private guide.
Your private visit of the Vatican Museums culminates at Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel. No speaking is allowed in the Chapel, so you will enjoy free time on your own to take this masterpiece in.
The tour concludes at the entrance of the Vatican Museums.

Martina was excellent. Very knowledgeable and entertaining
The guide is nice and professional
Gaga was the best tour guide we’ve had in two weeks in Italy. Excellent presenter and educator
My Experience with Aiko was really good, se really knows the history and explain the very little details as well. I would wanted to go slower in the rooms of the museums but it was so crowded so I think thats why you only walk and most of the times dont stop to see details
Maria Laura Was a wonderful tour guide! She was very knowledgeable with a cute sense of humor. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and would recommend EcoArt Travel.
Our guide Fabio provided nothing short of an incredible experience. His knowledge of the materials and candor in approaching the collections with their influences on each other made the tour both enlightening and more awe-inspiring.

You can trust EcoArt Travel; they deliver! If you’re going to Rome, ask for Mariapaola to be your guide. She is an archaeologist with an incredible depth of knowledge and experience for everything Roma, plus she speaks perfect English! EcoArt and Mariapaola took care of everything! They provided my wife and me with a private one-on-one tour of the Vatican. We walked through the long queues, Mariapaola took pictures of us, gave us an in-depth explanation of the Sistine Chapel, and kept us away from the crowds!
This was my first visit to Roma. With online ticket everything was well organised. They sent information before the trip via e- mail. The Vatican experience was very good. Emanuel our tour guide informed us perfectly. We enjoyed our trip very much.
Elena is absolutely amazing. She knows so much about the museum and shared making stories to assist on understanding the paintings, sculptures.

Francesco was a super guide. Very knowledgeable and had great side stories. Took his time and made sure all in the group had a first rate experience.
What an amazing experience! Raffaella Was extremely knowledgeable about everything within the Sistine chappel, Vatican Museum, and Basilica. We left with a great appreciation of the beauty that exists within the Vatican walls. You can’t get the knowledge and insights on your own, and Rafaela was so knowledgeable.
Was a great and perfect tour with our Guide Alessia. She recommended smiling, and she was clearly the best teacher on that. The tour was awesome, we saw a lot, and were taken through the various rooms in a speedy way despite a huge crowd. Pity we could not stop more in various places, because she always had very clear and nice stories to tell. Cannot but recommend her.
We had such an amazing tour of the Vatican. Martina was an incredible tour guide, friendly, so knowledgeable and entertaining too!
A++ experience with EcoArt and Maria Laura - “Laura” it seems for short. Laura was fabulous! Knowledgeable, upbeat, personable, versatile with different age groups, and added in some humor! She shared some personal experiences and on that note, Laura, if you’re reading this, I did indeed try ribolita (when I went to Florence)! It was the perfect comfort food.. thanks for that tip. 😉 what a wonderful tour!!
Alessia was a fabulous guide. Very informative and fun. Highly recommend the tour, A great way to see some of Romes treasures.
Eddy was amazing! Wonderful experience with a very kind, knowledgeable, and courteous guide! He went above and beyond to ensure our experience was fantastic! 10 Stars!!

Laura gave us a most excellent tour. She both showed us the greatest architecture, paintings, and sculptures, she explained their significance in Roman and Vatican culture, history, and politics. I feel much more educated about these places and their history than I ever have before. I hope someday to do a tour with Laura again.
Yamuna from EcoArt gave us a fantastic tour with a great choice of masterpieces and interesting facts and explanations.
Very informative, absolutely beautiful.. I highly recommend doing this tour!! Even if you don’t know much just the artwork, paintings and sculptures are breathtaking…

lessia, our small group tour guide, was excellent. She was well informed, engaging, cheerful, ,humourous,, patient, and very knowledgeable. She guided us expertly through the crowds and exhibits, focussing on some of the most remarkable highlights. She also provided fascinating historical context and information on Michaelangelo, Raphael, Pope Julius Ii, and St Peter’s. And she provided a brilliant visual and illustrated tutorial on what to look for in the Sistine Chapel before we entered. We most highly recommend this tour, particularly with Alessia. Dan and Debbie
Highly recommended tour of the Vatican including the Sistine Chapel and the Raphael Rooms. Guia was an excellent guide pointing out all the little details that one would miss otherwise.
Great tour guide and experience at Vatican City and Sistine chapel. St Peter's unreal. Ricardo was exceptional.
The tour was great - Ursus (our guide) was delightful - friendly, very knowledgeable about the artwork and architecture, and he was great at leading us quickly through the large crowds so we always got a good view of things. The tour was about 2.5 hours, and I feel like we got to see everything we wanted to see in that time. While it may cost a little more for the private tour, I was very happy that we did it once I was inside and Ursus was leading by all of the large tour groups, and it was nice to be able to have an ongoing conversation with our guide and freely ask any questions we had as we went along.
The tour was excellent! Our tour guide, Polina, was very knowledgeable and guided us through the different parts of the Vatican explaining everything we were seeing. I highly recommend this tour if you are in Rome!
Oscar is a great guide! He is very friendly, great sense of humor, very knowledgeable (masters in arts degree) and kept us engaged throughout. Highly recommend the service as there are so many details and stories one can miss.
