Sara Cristofanelli was an excellent guide. Spoke good English, was very efficient with our time, experienced guide with in depth knowledge of the history and art - paintings, mosaics, fresco’s, and sculptures. We would ask for Sara again for a private tour in the future.

Itinerary
Start your tour in St. Peters Square and perceive the all-embracing character of its majestic architecture. Understand the game of visual effects as were thought by its designer, Bernini, and find the two "special" spots in the square.
Then head towards the Basilica to be amazed by its magnificence. See why it took 150 years to rebuild and marvel at the golden ceilings and the impressive mosaics all around you. Let your art-historian guide lead you through renowned masterpieces of Renaissance and Neoclassic art. Be impressed by the harmonious 30-meters-high canopy and appreciate the expressive power and delicate beauty of Michelangelo's "Pietà".
Descend into the underground grottoes and visit St. Peter's tomb. Touch the ancient walls of the original 4th-century basilica and admire the beautiful frescoes.
Then climb your way up to the top of the Dome by stairs. Enjoy a bird's-eye view over the marble floors and take an exclusive and close-up look at the mosaics of the dome. Climb even higher to find yourself at the top balcony and be amazed by the spectacular panorama over Rome and beyond. Spot the Colosseum, the Pantheon, Castel Sant'Angelo, and other iconic monuments from the height of 136 meters. Enjoy a breathtaking view of St. Peters Square and the Vatican gardens.

This really was an excellent tour which included St Peters square, the Basilica, a climb to the top of the Cupola providing outstanding views of Rome and a visit to the Grottoes beneath the altar of the Basilica. Our guide was full of facts and interesting information, which were put across in a friendly conversational manner. Thoroughly recommended!
This was a well organised tour conducted by Francesca whose knowledge was considerable but focussed on the main sights of interest. The dome climb was challenging but well worth the effort for the stupendous views of Rome.
Very good visit done by Barbara ! Interesting and very knowledgeable person. Sometimes she speaks and walk too fas but she is very dynamic
A Very pleasant visit with Barbara ! We recommand her. It was a pleasure. We will come back for sure. Ciao and Grazie Barbara !!!!
We had an extremely good guide. We already visited the Sint Pieters basiliek before but our guide Volodymyr had so much more to tell and knew every detail of the basiliek. We could ask him everything so the tour was really very custom made.
One of the best tours I’ve ever done. Tom made the waiting time in line fly by and had my young kids engaged all the time. He is very knowledgeable and nice. Worth it
It was great. The private tour is the way to go when visiting the Basilica. We would recommend to anyone.
A fabulous experience with a friendly and extremely knowledgeable guide that made the dome, basilica and grotto come alive. As someone who has toured the basilica with guides before I was delighted to find a guide that enhanced the experience more than any previous visit had done.
Our tour of St. Peter's Basilica with Sonia was nothing short of enlightening. The climb to the dome offered breathtaking views, making the effort completely worth it. Sonia's knowledge was immense. We especially liked the captivating tales of St. Peter and the significance of those buried within the catacombs. Learning about the history of the land and its deep connection to St. Peter was the highlight. Sonia is a wealth of knowledge and conveys it with passion. A must-experience tour!
Excellent organised tour of the St Peters Basilika. Hats off to Mario, our guide. Amazing throughout 👏
What a great experience. Eleonora was the best guide and we will remember forever. She was professional, knowledgable, and humorous. Great job!
Disorganised company - no signage where to find a representative. Actual guide was almost impossible to understand. Security line a nightmare.
Lorenzo was amazing! He brought to life St. Peter's Basilica! He shared SO MANY details I would have missed if I went on my own. He has lived in Rome his whole life and I loved hearing all of his reflections on this incredible monument. I highly recommend his tours!!!! Thank you Lorenzo for an unforgettable experience :)
Our tour guide was Arturo and he did an amazing jobs explaining the history in regards to the Vatican and St Peter’s Basillica. Very intuitive and a great person to talk to!
My tour with Giovanni was great! He was extremely knowledgeable and resourceful. He explained the history of the Basilica through stories about the process and people involved, as well as through diagrams, which really helped me to visualize how this place has changed over time. Giovanni’s enthusiasm made me so excited and curious during the tour. I left this tour having learned so much!
We booked this tour the night before because other plans had fallen out. I was so happy that everything went smoothly the next day. Our guide was so knowledgeable about the basilica and gave us a lot of history on the building and on the Catholic Church in Italy. We loved going down into the grottoes and then up into the dome. The views were spectacular from the top. It was a wonderful tour.
Excellent tour. Very informative and the sights around the square, inside the Basilica, the Catacombs and experience of climbing the dome were incredible. Our guide Sonia was very knowledgeable, had great enthusiasm and was very kid friendly too 🙂 Highly recommended.
We had an AMAZING tour with Sonia! She is an archeology graduate student (studying at the university in Vatican City) and she shared about her excavations and experiences in to the typical tour information. She was so knowledgeable and charming-- she kept the whole group (ages 5-76 years-old) engaged. Sonia was able to adapt the tour to our specific interests (including pointing out things related to our little kids' names). Her English was great too! We were SO glad to have our tour with such a wonderful guide!
Extraordinary guide, extraordinary experience! Views from the Dome were breathtaking!l The story” of the building of the Basilica were inspiring
Great time with a private guide you cant go wrong your own pace and visiting early morning is a plus to avoid crowds very profesional
We were on our last day of two weeks and wanted to see these aspects of St. Peter's, having already been to the Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel, the Vatican Gardens and Castel Gandolfo. Sonia was our guide. She is a practicing archeologist, was filled with enlightening facts about what we were seeing. She was pleasant and spoke excellent English and was quite knowledgeable about Rome overall. She had a quite effective simplicity about her way of relating to our group.
Alessanora was a fun and excellent guide! Her enthusiasm and knowledge made the experience wonderful. Even before we found out she was our guide, as we were congregating near the meeting point, we noticed her interacting with many different people in different languages, and she was making people smile and laugh. Then we found out she was going to be our guide and we knew it was going to be fun. Our tour was in English. Alessanora was super accommodating to everyone in the group and kept the tour moving at the perfect pace while describing the history and explaining many interesting details. The tour was great and it is really worth it to hike up all those stairs, which is an experience in itself, to the top of the dome for the amazing views. Highly recommended!
Had very possitive experience with our guide Giovanni D'Anna. He provided us with lot of information even with some secrets as he has private work experience within basilica. I would recommend 5*
Perfect tour with guide Alicia who was kind, knowing and super clever. She had the answers to all our questions. Our best recommendations for her and this tour
Great tour lots of fun, she knew a lot about the place and the things inside. Her English was great which was very nice.
The tour was very enjoyable. After a little chaotic start, we found our guide Catalina, an art history student, who led us into the basilica. She knew a lot about the history of and symbolism in the church and was very passionate about the subject. She spoke English very well and answered all of our questions. We learned way more than if we would've visited just regularly and it made the trip way more enjoyable. Definitely recommended!
Booked the tour with touriks.com and Sam was out guide. And what a guide he is! Hé is loaded with informatiom and has great narrative skills. Hé takes time for the tour and answers every question. What a great guide And what a lovely tour to end up the Dome with a great view.
Very good explanations from Barbara , very professional guide who gave us very important historical information
Small-group tour in French with Valéry of St. Peter's Basilica, the caves and the dome. It is a magnificent and unforgettable experience, Valéry knows how to share his knowledge, his passion for places and history. We loved it, the people who were with us too. We highly recommend it!!!
We paid a fairly large sum for the guided tour of St. Peter's Basilica with climb in the dome. Finally, and despite our request to start with the Dome, it was no longer possible to climb after 16:00 by elevator. No partial refund was offered to us (as the lift climb was included in the price). In addition, we managed to climb to the Dome on our side ... The same day, after 16:00 but using the stairs (and paying anyway). We all felt like we had been ripped off.
Arturo explained a lot to us and explained everything in his own way! Thank you for this beautiful afternoon in St. Peter's Basilica and the good tips at the end
It was a fantastic experience in its entirety The guide that accompanied us was of a pleasant surprise
I did this tour with Riccardo, very prepared and also nice person, the basilica and the dome are something extraordinary, although unfortunately, since in the afternoon there would be mass, the statue of Michelangelo's piety was covered... reason to return!
Very interesting experience on a cultural and artistic level. Our guide Simona illustrated many details and curiosities of the basilica and the dome, attracting the attention of the whole group. He accompanied us inside the basilica describing frescoes, statues, architectural peculiarities and greeted us on the first floor of the dome. The guided tour was really interesting, suitable for everyone, even families with children because it was very engaging.
Great experience with very well prepared guide. Visiting such important places accompanied by those who manage to transfer to you all the millennial charm that these wonderful places contain is very nice.
Very engaging and nice driving. Recommended. Two hours of touring passed quickly. Interesting route. We had a good time. Even the kids.
Visit well done and very interesting. Alessandro with his passion involved us in the various stories and told us some very interesting anecdotes
Catalina was an exceptional guide, passing on all her knowledge but also emotions to the view of a greatly historic place. I recommend you to visit St Peter's Basilica, the dome or the square! It will make these historic places even more magical!!! We are still under the spell of the visit, even several days later!
Excellent!!! 3-hour excursion with ascent of the dome (320 steps) and visit of St. Peter's Basilica. A guide with broad and very advanced artistic, historical and religious knowledge, very friendly and inviting, small international group of 9 people (visit in English). We loved it! Recommended for people interested in history, arts and religion.
We had Samuel as our guide, very kind and prepared; he led us safely to visit the dome, the Basilica, the caves and of course the square in front. A couple of hours flown between historical and artistic anecdotes, echoing made us forget the rain and appreciate this wonder
This was a really extraordinary tour in St. Peter's Basilica. Through the basilica, up into the dome with a magnificent view of the interior of the church and a few steps further up, where Rome lay at our feet. An absolute experience. And all with a highly competent, friendly and courteous guide. A thousand thanks for this great experience, dear Lorenzo!
