Private Tour From Rome To Pisa And Florence With Tower Of Pisa

We enjoyed the day trip. There was just my husband and I and another two people so very private. They picked us up right at our hotel so we didn’t have to worry about getting to a meeting point. It was great to see Pisa and Florence. I only give it 3 stars because we were unable to get into the museum to see the statue David. That was disappointing. There was a “miscommunication” between this tour company and the museum. We waited and in the end had to leave. I would like to note that our tour guide Ara and driver Max were great. They attempted everything to get us into the museum. I give them both 5 stars. I would like to note that we were offered a refund because we didn’t get into the museum to see David.

Antonella and Max did a great job of looking after us yesterday. I was recovering from food poisoning and they took great care of me.

We decided to book this tour as we wanted to tour Florence and the see the Tower of Pisa in one day due to the short stay that we had in Rome. The positives of this tour was that Florence is amazing (we had a walking tour of Florence with Christian who was great. At times it was difficult to hear him due to the large crowds) and visiting Pisa was great. However, this tour was poor and did not deliver what was advertised. We were picked up from the hotel by Max (who was the driver) but once we sat in it was evident that there was no tour assistant other than Max the driver. When booking this tour it states there will be a tour assistant with you for the entire trip. In the description of this tour it states the following: 'Depart from your hotel in Rome for a private and exclusive tour accompanied by your driver and tour assistant'. Reading other reviews it was clear that along with Max there was a tour assistant in the mini van who provided expert talks about what we should expect. For this tour there was nothing apart from Max. If we wanted to sit in silence for the 6 hour round trip to Pisa and Florence then we would have caught the train. The lack of tour assistant was evident when we arrived in Pisa and we were left to walk around on our own. This was frustrating and not what we expected. There was no communication with us as to why there was no tour assistant. It felt as though because the mini van was full there was no space for a tour assistant. But if this was the case then we should have been informed. The whole tour seemed as though the people in charge of this tour felt Max can double up as a driver and a tour assistant in one. Luckily the tour group were great and we managed to pass the time chatting away for a bit if you are going to advertise that there is going to be a tour assistant then you should honour this. The other issue we encountered was having lunch in Florence. We finished our lunch and were considering ordering dessert but our menus were taken away as we were about to start our walking tour in Florence. We were not informed how long we had for lunch and what time the walking tour was going to start. This was a shambles. We would advise not to book this tour. It is better just to catch the train and organise a local tour guide when you reach your destination.

Our driver Nikola and our guide Giuseppe met us at our hotel in Rome in a comfortable vehicle (van) for my family of 4. The drive to Pisa was about 4 hours but we stopped a couple of times to take breaks for meals and bathroom. Upon arrival our guide took us through Florence and Pisa, took us to a nice comfortable lunch spot along with souvenir shops at our request. He guided us through the museums and cathedrals and was very knowledgeable about the history. Even though this private tour was bit pricier than the others I would highly recommend as I didn’t have to stress over traveling to a location with children to meet the tour. This was stress free and we moved at our own personal pace especially on this warm day. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Right of start the driver Max and tour guide Ara introduced themselves very politely giving a full rundown of what the day would entail. I have never been to Italy before, but in the short time I've seen some pretty crazy driving. Max however kept a nice relaxing atmosphere within the vehicle, keeping the A/C pumping and navigating his way through the hectic traffic with ease. We stopped twice on the 4 hour drive up, once to pick up coffee and breakfast and another for a quick pit stop before heading on each, time both Ara and Max made sure I was comfortable and assisting me with any questions I had. As we continued to our first destination Ara kept light conversation pointing out land marks, historical information and other interesting facts. Max also chimed in with, "do you know why that city over there is so important?" "Because thats where I live." haha. Great guy I like his sense of humor. First stop on the tour was Pisa where Ara didnt miss a beat and continued rattling off facts about the cathedral, baptistery and of course the leaning tower all while walking around the area. Being that it was just myself on the tour it didnt take long to walk through everything take a couple snap shots and selfies assisted by Ara before moving on. Next we made our way to Florence stopping off at Ristorante Di Pinocchio for a bite to eat where being that I couldn't decide I went with the recommendations of the waitress and wasn't disappointed because the food was excellent. Also I do want to point out the waitstaff were kind and courteous as well, I don't want to leave them without props. After leaving the restaurant the rest of the day we walking around the city going from place to place, I was met with mind blowing facts and historical event information brought to you by Ara. She is truly an intelligent, kind and all around good person and a great tour guide without her I would have had no idea what I was looking at lol. Even with the tour pretty much complete, on the way back she was still pointing out cities and land marks, as I took notes for future travels. I will definitely be back to Italy at some point, maybe this time with friends and I highly suggest using this tour agency on any future vacation around Italy, I know I will. Thank you again Ara and Max I had a wonderful time.

Ara, our guide, and Max, our driver, both did an excellent job on getting us there and explaining everything we were seeing. Seeing things we never thought we would ever see and giving us the time to truly understand them. It was the best way to see this much in such a little time. We would definitely recommend this tour and Momma Mia Tours.

Not the tour for us! Too much time in the car. It was @ a 15 hour tour with 10 of it being spent in the car. The coastal route that was taken to get to Pisa was the most turbulent car ride I’ve ever experienced. The road is poor, and the speed at which we traveled caused those of us in the back of the mini van to be jarred on many occasions. The tour guide seemed relatively new as they used their phone to lead us around Florence. Their focus was on time adherence rather than tour experience. Maybe fewer stops on the walking tour to be able to spend more quality time with the attractions?

This is tour to pick if you want a lifetime experience visiting Florence and Pisa in one day. The guide, Giuseppe and the driver, Max, were very professional and knowledgeable. They ensured to inform us about points of interest along the way to Pisa and Florence. And the guided tour at both the locations were very informative. I would recommend anyone going there for the first time to use Mama Mia Tours.

Great experience! Max was a great driver. We came back safely. Ara, our tour guide, was friendly and kind. It was her first day. Pisa was the best part of the tour. Wished we could have taken more time at Pisa to take more photos. This tour is ideal if you want to see both Florence and Pisa and don’t want to deal with planning public transportation! Worth the price!

Dina was our guide and she was very knowledgeable. We truly enjoyed the experience. The vans were on time and they had us back by early evening. Dina also gave us some great recommendations for shopping and restaurants in Rome.

What a wonderful private trip to Pisa and Florence! Antonella was such a lovely lady and truly made the day special. She was attentive, caring, and always on top of everything. She guided us with kindness, made sure we were comfortable, and did everything possible to please everyone in our group. Our driver and his Apprentice (Sorry I can’t find his name) were excellent as well — very knowledgeable, professional, funny, and quick. Most importantly, they made us feel safe throughout the entire trip. In Florence, Emilio was outstanding. He was extremely knowledgeable and made our visit to the Accademia Gallery and Michelangelo’s David very informative and meaningful. He speaks both English and Spanish very well, and his attention to detail made the experience even better. Overall, this was a beautiful, well-organized, and unforgettable experience. I highly recommend this private tour!

The day started out great being picked up from our hotel. This was a bonus from the start. Our guide was Antonella and driver was Nicola, both were very nice and interactive throughout the drive. We stopped for short breaks to get snacks/coffee. When we arrive in Florence we had time to take pictures and do a little shopping. We then met with our guide, Christian to take us though the museum. He was very knowledgeable. We then had lunch and was soooo good. We left for Pisa and was able to see the leaning tower, which was fun. Finished off with yummy gelato. Was dropped back off at the hotel. Overall excellent tour. Would definitely recommend and book with them again.

Ali was our tour guide and Nikola was our driver. Both were phenomenal. Ali taught us lots of history about Pisa and Florence in the Tuscany region. Very knowledgeable about the subject and introduced us to an amazing lunch spot named Pinocchio, as well as to see David and the other great spots of Florence. Pisa was amazing, and we felt safe the entire trip with Ali on the ground and Nikola on the road! Would recommend to do again with both of these amazing people!

Is this a long day? Yes! Is it worthwhile? Yes! Our driver Max, and tour guide Federica were exceptional, both warm and friendly with great knowledge sharing great snippets of information on the drive in a really comfortable vehicle. Time is limited in both Pisa and Florence but we saw everything we hoped to see and more.

We (3 of us) traveled from Rome to Florence & Pisa on a private tour with Giuseppe and Nicola. A very early start to the day, but it was an amazing tour. It was informative & fun, our guides took excellent care of us throughout the day. Definitely a must do tour!

Mamma Mia did a great job fir our party of 5! The minivan was comfortable and clean. Our tour guide, Ali, was amazing! He was very professional, considerate, helpful and provided interesting, appropriate commentary and information throughout our tour. The restaurant he recommended us to eat at was delicious, with great service. Our driver, Roberto, was great and friendly. Our Academia tour guide, Stefano, explained the process the sculptors used to create their sculptures in addition to guiding us to the sculptures and explaining the their history. My partner had unknowingly lost his phone in the minivan and Ali especially and Roberto made a successful effort to find the phone and return it to us. We are so thankful to both of them.

When we left Rome, we were concerned with the weather. Our driver Max and tour guide Antonella assured us that we would be able to see the important sights of both regardless. The sights of Pisa were spectacular, so happy we got to see and experience the Tower and churches there. Florence was just brilliant - it would be brilliant on a nice day but we got to experience everything we wished for but in the pouring rain. We arrived safely back in Rome after a thirteen hour day. Very tired but extremely pleased with the day. Thanks to all.

This is a great option to see Pisa and Florence from Rome. It’s a long day, but the guides are excellent. Max is a World class driver and Dina was a great tour guide creating good expectations. They were flexible and anticipated changes that might be needed being attentive to the group needs. Fabulous time. Our driver Max is the best driver in the world. And our guide Deana is the best guide in the world. We ran over something in the road and got a flat tire. They kept us safe and changed the tire so we could get back on the road. Whew.

From start to finish, everything was seamless and enjoyable. Our driver, Max, and our incredible all-day guide, Dina, picked us up in a comfortable Mercedes van and made sure we were taken care of every step of the way. We would highly recommend this fabulous tour by Mamma Mia Italy. Our family was very well cared for by very professional and friendly Max & Dina. Dina is very knowledgeable about Lazio/Toscana region and shared very insightful tid bits about region's history, culture, and geography. Tour was planned carefully to cover key sites Pisa and Florence while allowing enough time for breaks, snacks, lunch(they had great lunch recommendations) Tour also included a local guide, Christian, in Florence who was very passionate about history of the town and gave us a great tour of his town. Highlights were climbing tower of Pisa, statue of David, Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Ponte Vecchio. Overall trip was great value for money and we will highly recommend Mamma Mia Italy for their fabulous staff, comfortable vehicles, and excellent service.

Fun, Laughs, and Beauty Ten stars!! Carola and Max were THE BEST! We were nervous taking such a long tour with 3 kids (ages 16, 8 and 7). I mean, the kids can get on our nerves after a few hours! But Carola and Max were wonderful. To start the day, I did not plan well and no one in our family had breakfast before our morning pick up. Fortunately , Carola checked in with us and made time for a quick breakfast stop. During the drive, Carola and Max were a great team and shared so much interesting information. They were especially kind to our kids who ask random questions! Our first scheduled stop was Florence. Max dropped us off so close, and Carola brought us right to where our Florence tour started. The tour was excellent, and Carola stayed with to make sure we had our tickets and directed us to bathrooms when needed. Carola also made an excellent recommendation for lunch. The food was amazing and the price was great! We then had a chance to shop with local vendors where we could buy quality products at great prices! When it was time to leave, Max picked us up so close to where we were, which we really appreciated because it was so hot! Our next stop was the leaning tower of Pisa. Our youngest 2 were not old enough to climb the tower, but Carola stayed with them and she got some excellent pictures of them "holding up the tower"! The kids had a blast! Carola ran to get our tickets for the cathedral while we enjoyed some gelato and shopping. The Cathedral was beautiful! It was time to head back to Rome, and this is where our unexpected issues arose. When we got in the van, our 16 year old could not find his phone. Carola and Max helped to search. It was so hot, and Max looked in every nook and cranny in the van. Unfortunately we never did recover the phone, but it was not for lack of trying from Carola and Max! Then, my daughter had 2 separate bathroom emergencies! There are not readily available gas stations like the states, so it proved to be challenging to find a bathroom for a little girl nearly in tears. But both times, Max found a safe place for us to pull over for my daughter to relieve herself. There were signs of relief in more ways than one! We ended up returning a few HOURS later than planned because of my family's unexpected issues, but Max and Carola were so kind and good to us. We felt so bad, but they were nothing but kind. We had so many good laughs along the way, and I will be forever grateful to them for making our trip one of the best moments for our family!
