Itinerary
An incredible XVI century Villa that will give you the opportunity to admire the incredible work of one of the best artists of the Renaissance: Raphael. With his school of painters he decorated the Villa of a banker, Agostino Chigi, that decided to build a sumptuous Villa, by the river. We will understand the propaganda decoration and the life of artists and noble man of that time.
Walking through the neighborhood, we will get to see some of the greatest churches of Rome, specifically the first dedicated to the Virgin Mary in rome: Santa Maria in Trastevere. The real beauty in this church are the mosaics dating back to the XIII century.
We will walk in this historical and authentical district of Rome, famous for food, wine and traditions.
A hidden jem, that needs to be discovered in the district of Trastevere. Amazing mosaics and history for the church that has become famous all over the world for its choir. We will visit if possible (it depends on the nuns managing the building) the crypt and the ancient Roman undergrounds of the Church.

The villa ended up being closed even though our guide Vincenzo Spina called them the day before. He offered to still take us around the neighborhood and arranged viator to refund for the tour. For 2 hours he talked showed us everything. He was full of facts, figures and fun stories. It would have been nice to see the villa but I thourghly enjoyed our Trastevere walk.
This is a private tour you cannot miss! Our guide was engaging, informative, energetic, and friendly. He is a walking encyclopedia of knowledge and clearly loves what he does. We learned so much that we would never have found out on our own. Best of all... the 3 hour tour felt like 5 minutes. Once he starts telling you stories and information, you are hooked wanting more. We highly recommend!
We had the absolute best experience with Vincent as our tour guide! From start to finish, he was incredibly knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and engaging, making every moment of our tour both educational and entertaining. His passion for what he does is truly contagious, and he went above and beyond to ensure we had an unforgettable experience. Not only was he personable and kind, but he also made us feel welcome and comfortable the entire time. As a wonderful bonus, he surprised us with a thoughtful parting gift, which was such a special touch! If you’re looking for a top-tier guide who brings history and culture to life, Vincent is the one to book. 10/10 recommend!
Our time with Vincenzo - (Rome Guides)was thoroughly enjoyable. I cannot overstate how enthusiastic and knowledgeable Vincenzo is, our tour was three hours and every minute was a pleasure, I have never met a guide who is so knowledgeable, enthusiastic and fun. Vincenzo brought everything to life with his explanations about the palaces, paintings people and artists that left us these priceless treasures. Without a doubt we would make sure that he was our guide when we (hopefully) visit Rome again.
Our guide, Vincenzo, was animated, knowledgeable, and fun! He was genuinely interested in making sure we had a great tour. I wouldn't say I am an art history buff at all, but after hearing about the artists of Rome, he may have converted me! The places we visited were gorgeous and full of history that we would never understand going on our own. Grateful for the stories and passion Vincenzo offered! Loved the special gift at the end. Thank you!
Our guide Vincenzo Spina was an amazing storyteller who brought to life the characters and artwork of Villa Farnesina and the two beautiful churches, the basilica of Santa Maria Trastevere and ancient, later Baroque church of Santa Cecelia. Full of color and description, we were mesmerized for the 3+ hours. He had great restaurant recommendations, too! Highly recommend!!!
Amazing energy and great entertainment. Every time I come to Rome I do at least one tour with Rome guides and it is always incredible. They make you feel like you’re back in history
We had an incredible experience on our tour of trastevere and Villa Farnesina. Our guide Vincenzo brought everything to life he was so animated and enthusiastic’ we cannot praise him enough’ great guy! We can really recommend anyone to take this tour ‘ you won’t be disappointed!
We had another wonderful tour with Daniella today. My husband and I have a very rudimentary understanding of Art history and individual artists. Daniella took the time to explain the technique of the various artists and significant aspects of various pieces. She answered all of our questions and allowed us to move at a pace that was comfortable for us. She treated us more like a family friend then a paid guide. We loved our day!
We had an awesome experience with Vincenzo walking around Trastevere and Villa Farnesina. He was so passionate and full of knowledge, we were simply bowled over by his story-telling, his enthusiasm for art, history, and architecture. You would never see Rome in the same light with Vincenzo, there is just too much going on below the layers and layers of history and buildings upon buildings upon buildings. Since my wife hired him as a private tour guide, it was awesome to go at our pace - slow and steady, taking our time with each and every detail and interesting nugget in the history of the area. He was patient and open for questions always, and waited while we snapped our pictures. We would totally hire him again the next time we come back to Rome. There's just so much to see, so much to learn, so much to understand in Italy. Absolutely love him as our guide, and you cannot go wrong hiring him as your tour guide in Roma!
Had an excellent tour of Traevere and Villa Farnesina. Vincenzo was incredibly knowledgeable, and passionate of art and architecture. Fully recommend this tour of the lesser known sites of Rome, full of marvelous surprises and hidden gems. Would definitely recommend this tour and go on others provided by this group if in Rome again.
Excellent tour of Trastevere and Villa Farnesina. Vincenzo was incredibly knowledgeable about art and architecture and showed / told me many things I could not have done on my own. His passion for the topics was also irreplaceable and would definitely recommend this tour!
Formidable guide and an absolute certainty! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a corporate guided tour in Trastevere last Friday with a group of 26 people and Vincenzo was simply extraordinary. Having already experienced his skill on other past tours, I wanted to rely on him with confidence and he never disappoints: he confirms himself as the best in his field. Very prepared, competent, empathetic to the max, and incredibly likable. More than a classic guide, he seemed like a performer: he knew how to capture everyone's attention by interacting with the group, making jokes, and giving us important and fun historical anecdotes. Everyone really liked the tour, colleagues were enthusiastic from the first to the last. A guarantee!
I participated in a guided tour of the Trastevere neighborhood led by Vincenzo Spina, together with a group of about 20 people, all from my family. From the very beginning, Vincenzo proved to be extremely engaging and knowledgeable. He provided us with headsets, which allowed everyone to easily follow the tour, and he accompanied us on a discovery of the neighborhood, telling us many anecdotes and interesting facts about the history and life of Rome. He also managed to involve us continuously, asking questions and stimulating the group's participation. Being Roman, I was particularly impressed by the level of depth and knowledge of the guide: every topic was treated with great attention, without ever being superficial. In fact, even regarding places and aspects of the city that I thought I knew well, Vincenzo managed to tell us something new and interesting. Absolutely recommended if you are looking for an authentic, passionate, competent guide who is, above all, capable of engaging the group. A tour that manages to satisfy even a group of Romans who, let's face it, think they already know their own city well!
Guided tour of Villa Farnesina, with Vincenzo. And Vincenzo never disappoints. Competent, knowledgeable, fun and engaging!
Vincenzo has the rare gift of knowing how to dose information and entertainment, with the ability to engage the audience in a nice, but always polite way. The result is a very pleasant journey into the place through details that tell us who made it born and lived. A way to fix in visitors anecdotes and details that would commonly be lost and make each visit unique.
We are a couple with a little girl of almost two years who, however, has always slept during the visit. Together with Vincenzo we took a tour of Trastevere. Whenever we come to Rome we always try to schedule a tour with Rome Guides because we are in love with their passion, kindness and great knowledge. Vincenzo was a magnificent guide, competent and very attentive to our needs. He told us the secrets of the streets and churches of this neighborhood and even memorized a poem by Belli! Already we would like to return to Rome hoping to be able to organize a new tour with him!
We requested a personalized tour and Vincenzo turned out to be a guarantee. A walk through Trastevere to discover the most hidden secrets. Vincenzo involves you in the tour in a unique way! It's funny, clear, precise and intrigues you throughout. It is not the first tour I have done and as a Roman I always get to know new things thanks to Vincenzo. Roma Guides is definitely to choose for visits and tours in Rome. Highly Recommendation!
I went on several tours of the Rome Guides Association and they were always very exciting experiences. They are very good and manage to enhance each place, contextualising the historical period and enriching it with particular anecdotes and background stories. The hours of the visit fly by and you are completely immersed, managing to fully appreciate the works of art.
Villa Farnesina is a concentration of beauty, art and symbolism which was told to us with the enthusiasm and mastery of a guide like Martina who is good at capturing the attention of young and old and who made every moment of the visit exciting and never banal. I can't wait to do another one.❤️
A really nice and useful experience for learning while having fun! The guide was exceptional in telling the story and anecdotes that made everything, with the theatricality on display, truly worth repeating! THANK YOU for the passion you bring!
A journey through history, peppered with suspense, curiosity, surprises and laughter. Vincenzo, a 360 degree trained guide, with a truly incredible capacity for involvement. An exceptional actor... on the other hand....😃
Vincenzo is incredible, he not only tells the story, but also his anecdotes. It keeps you entertained throughout your visit, never feeling redundant or boring. He made us discover Trastevere in all its lesser-known aspects, and I am Roman, he knew how to answer every curiosity and managed the time together by transporting us into every fact he told. Exceptional, unconventional, extremely competent. Super recommended!
Just an EXCEPTIONAL word, now vincenzo is a guarantee, he can impress you with his way of explaining things in the head and they remain... it's nice that even after days weeks months I can tell in detail everything seen in his guided tours, the Farnese villa is a flagship of rome has frescoes seconds to none... highly recommended listen to me you will not regret it
I had never been in fifty years of age to Villa Farnesina, building, which unlike others, goes a little unnoticed, as Trastevere, unfortunately and especially in recent years has become more of a nightlife place, and has lost much of its artistic value that had , so it was a nice surprise with Vincenzo in great shape despite the first real heat of the year. Carlo
A beautiful visit and a very good guide, Vincenzo a prepared, engaging, and nice guy. Thank you for the nice morning.
Beautiful and interesting visit. Martina very good at explanations, intrigues and surprises with her stories about the history of Rome and the Trastevere district and its wonderful churches.
Vincenzo is very prepared, engaging and nice. He is able to capture and maintain attention by engaging in the stories he tells. Really good.
The Vincenzo guide (recommended and booked by our trusted travel agency) was nothing short of superb! We were a group of 8 friends: he accompanied us for a whole day in a beautiful, almost unknown and alternative Rome: well organized program, nothing to say. You see and feel the love for his work! Bravo Vincenzo, keep it up! If we return to Rome, we will come for you! Thank you.
Vincenzo was fantastic, We arrived early and despite this he arrived precipitamente.ci took us around Trastevere showing us all the most interesting things curious and also funny.è was very engaging and professional and prepared really recommend it to everyone
Great mastery in describing the works enriched with unexpected details highlighted in the eyes of us ‘ignorant! A special appreciation for the compliance with the anti-Covid rules that did not affect the tour. Thank you so much Paolo and Laura from Verona
Really unique. Very good. Right now you're at the top of the guidebooks I've known. Thanks Vincenzo. Bravo also in compliance with covid-19 legislation 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Extraordinary experience in the true sense of the word. Vincenzo is a highly trained guide, highly professional but not at all “detached”, on the contrary, he knows how to involve and interest not only with his culture but also with the pleasant mimicry and countless anecdotes. A tour of Trastevere that I will not forget! Also worth highlighting was the full reshaping of the anti-Covid rules. Overrecommended!
I copy an expression of Paola, my sister-in-law, who had anticipated the skill of Vincenzo and Martina and gave me this tour, really much appreciated. I confirm: Vincenzo is truly a Pied Piper able to make you discover the fascinating details of Trastevere, with a story never trivial and very engaging! thanks to the pleasant hours spent together and very soon
We are Mario and Marcella and we were in Rome last week for a weekend that our children and grandchildren gave us. At the last moment we looked for a guide to help us in the city tour. We could not be luckier!!! Vincenzo and Martina are two extraordinary people, they love their work are passionate and professional and were courteous and extremely helpful towards us. A wonderful experience. If you really want to visit Rome you can visit their website.... there is something for everyone and you will be thrilled. Greetings to all
We visited with Vincenzo the district of Trastevere and its churches. It was an unforgettable experience, exciting and full of unknown and funny anecdotes that no written guide can tell and make so engaging. Despite it was very hot the two hours flew, I wish it would never end! Thanks Vincenzo..and see you next time!
Vincenzo Spina, a very prepared guide, nice and absolutely not boring. Seeing Trastevere with its churches was really interesting. Santa Cecilia: a myth!!!! Tour really recommended!
