This was not the usual art museum tour that we have experienced. Our guide, Vincent, presented very interesting and energetic insights into the personalities--not just the artistic styles--of the both well-known and not-well-known artists that he focused on. We enjoyed it very much.
private tour - amazing experience - brought the museum to life - knowledgeable and entertaining - best museum experience in Rome
Vincenzo was very knowledgeable and very lively and made it very interactive in description of the history of the Palazzo! I would highly recommed!
The museum showcases an array of masterpieces by renowned artists, with Pietro da Cortona's fresco standing out as a true gem. The tour guide enriched the experience with insightful and captivating descriptions of each artwork. Thank you.
On June 1 of this year, Vincenzo took my family around the Palazzo Barberini in Rome. We had just gotten off of a long, sleepless flight and were thinking of calling off our plans, but I'm forever grateful we decided to power through because in doing so, I received the greatest museum tour I've ever participated in. After traveling across 3 European countries this summer and meeting with various tour guides, the guide whom I remember as the most engaging and entertaining was Vincenzo. Though on the verge of collapse from exhaustion that day, I found myself listening intently to his delightful stories of each painting we stopped before. I agree that El Greco is underrated. My favorite part was when he talked about the differences between two portraits of women painted by Rafael (how scandalous). I would have been clueless of the rich lore surrounding me and therefore less informed if not for our wonderful guide. I'll definitely be booking with Rome Tours the next time I visit Italy. Thank you so much, Vincenzo!
Viscenzo was absolutely fabulous!!! He was a fountain of knowledge about the masterpiece artworks. Very interactive, enthusiastic and passionate. Told background stories about the artists, which was fascinating. Would definitely go again…
Guided group tour of 15/03 in the afternoon. The exhibition's set-up examines Bernini's works in the period from the first collaborations, with his father Pietro, until the whole period under the patronage of Scipione Borghese and Maffeo Barberini. The guide of our group Vincenzo wisely alternates the detailed explanation of the works, weaving it with important moments in the sculptor's life. Anecdotes and historical events are embedded in the narrative, making the narrative lively and helping to facilitate understanding and memorization of information. I highly recommend to everyone the guided tours of Rome Guides. For those who want to visit the exhibition I also suggest buying tickets online.
The Bernini and the Barberini exhibition is something wonderful in itself, but with Vincenzo it has become a simply unforgettable experience. It was not just a guided tour: it was a real journey through time. With his overwhelming passion, his infectious sympathy and his unique way of telling, Vincenzo made us enter completely into Bernini’s era, making us live the exhibition as if we were really there. The anecdotes about Bernini and his father, the details told with enthusiasm, the curiosity, the laughter, everything was so alive and engaging that we forget the present for a few hours. It almost seemed to walk alongside the protagonists of that time, breathing their story, their genius, their emotions. Vincenzo does not just explain: he transports, engages, excites. He has that rare talent of making art alive, close, human. And always do it with lightness, intelligence and a smile. The only thing is to say little: Vincenzo is really magical. Thanks to him we have not only seen this exhibition... we have lived it to the full.
Thanks to A Vincenzo of Rome guides it was a journey into the Baroque of the seventeenth century in Rome. Thank you and thank you again
Vincenzo was able as always to interest and involve the group. His explanation was really fundamental to understand and immerse yourself in the Exhibition!
Bernini at Palazzo Barberini confirmed the promise of a fit Vincenzo, led us into the era of Pope Urban VIII, as inside a virtual time machine, I dare say that it was the most relevant exhibition of these first months of 2026. Thank you.
Visited with Vincenzo the exhibition of Bernini's works in the years of his relations with his father Urban VIII. Extraordinary works explained in their genesis and extraordinary beauty with unique passion and expertise by Vincenzo, a precious guide in our museum tours.
Extraordinary, exciting visit and excellent guide who accompanied us with the enthusiasm of always to discover 24 works of the immense Caravaggio for the halls of Palazzo Barberini. Unforgettable evening. Thanks to Vincenzo Spina
Visit to the Caravaggio exhibition at Palazzo Barberini. Very complete and engaging explanation, with many anecdotes and details. Vincenzo always prepared and able to keep the attention of the participants for over an hour and a half of visit. Thank you for giving us the chance not to miss this ultra sold out exhibition!
I organized four groups that visited with the legendary Vincenzo Spina the exhibition Caravaggio 2025 at Palazzo Barberini, all enthusiastic about his exhaustive explanations, very prepared and engaging : through the life of Caravaggio explained the various works on display and thanks to the works on display we relived the life of the great artist. We will be back soon!!
Vincenzo is enthralling! Dressed in breeches, he failed to disguise his contagious enthusiasm and passionate knowledge. He gave us unprecedented details of the era and life of the brawling and irascible Michelangelo—those curiosities you don't read in books. It 'was a journey into the seventeenth century Roman through speaking works (the voice was Vincenzo!). See you next adventure!
Vincenzo Spina guide exceptional , super positive experience. We had the pleasure of having it other times.....the best!!!!
This important exhibition on Caravaggio at Palazzo Barberini is already very beautiful and interesting in itself by Vincenzo with his stories has transported us into the life of the painter. As usual he managed to make the visiya pleasant, exciting and fun. Very good, thank you.
Caravaggio at Palazzo Barberini. Michelangelo Merisi's unruly genius, life and works. Our guide (Vincenzo) as always has us passionate with his narration. Many works on display. Lighting to improve.
Exhibition Caravaggio 2025. Fantastic experience. Exceptional Vincenzo, our guide who led the visit as the absolute ruler of the subject with a truly engaging talk between life, training, teachers, protectors, maturation, character, artistic figure, rivalries, women, muses, friends and enemies of the Lombard artist. The Roman, Neapolitan and Maltese periods told as the plot of a picaresque novel exploiting the works on display as confirmation of a single story capable of giving listeners many answers and at the same time arousing so much curiosity. Thank you. Emanuele Santi
I again had the pleasure of taking a guided tour with the incomparable Vincenzo who entertained us pleasantly in the lights and shadows of Caravaggio's life and works. His presence is a guarantee of professionalism, sympathy and originality. Thank you Vincenzo
Vincenzo made the visit to the Caravaggio exhibition extremely positive. As always he has demonstrated his preparation and knowledge of history and art, providing insights and interesting details. It is always a pleasure to follow his visits, it is stimulating and engaging. Highly recommended!!
“I don’t need to invent: nature is enough for me.” – Caravaggio With these words of the master begins my sincerest thanks to Vincenzo Spina of Rome Guides, passionate and extraordinary guide. With depth, competence and a clear and evocative style, he accompanied us on an intense journey through the lights and shadows of Caravaggio, making us rediscover not only the power of his canvases, but also the restless soul that inhabits them. This exhibition was an experience that went beyond a simple visit: each work spoke to us, touching deep chords. A journey that tells not only about art, but also the life – tormented, alive, bright and tragic – of one of the greatest geniuses of the Italian 600. An exhibition that remains in the heart and mind. Rita
Another journey to discover art and its infinite beauties. Vincenzo as always transports the visitor on a real journey through time making him participate in first person in his story. It enchants you with its words and its immense culture making you fully understand what you are seeing / visiting. Even with Munch he transmitted us all his world and his vision leaving us with a full of knowledge that makes you deeply appreciate the artist and the prosator (immense). Each guided tour leaves you a piece of art inside and you can only give thanks to a real Artist. Thanks Vincenzo, see you next time.
Vincenzo, our Guide at Palazzo Barberini, was fantastic. His passion for art emerged with every word, making the visit truly unforgettable. He showed us hidden details in the paintings of the collection (AMAZING collection) and told us various anecdotes about the artists, which made the visit really enjoyable. Highly recommended to really appreciate Palazzo Barberini in Rome.
Super recommended experience! Vincenzo is an excellent guide, competent and captivating in the narration and description of the works, never banal and highly engaging. A tour of the beauties of the Gallery under the expert and enthusiastic guidance of Vincenzo is an excellent way to spend a pleasant Roman afternoon! Sincere congratulations
Visit inside the wonderful Barberini palace, being the first time it was certainly essential to be accompanied on this journey into the past by a guide. I wanted to congratulate Vincenzo who managed to perfectly accurately and with his enthusiasm to make me appreciate the various masterpieces on display, telling from time to time some gems about the various artists, I always felt involved and there was never a dull moment. I highly recommend Rome guides!!!
Wonderful guided tour of a Palace full of very important works belonging to the private collection of the Barberini family or coming from private donations with a chronological and representative set-up of the main painting schools from the thirteenth to the eighteenth century, organized in such a way as to have different set-ups from the already very rich permanent collection (in this case with the exhibition dedicated to Artemisia Gentileschi). The sixteenth and seventeenth centuries are the most represented with works by Raphael, Piero di Cosimo, Bronzino, Tintoretto, up to Caravaggio with the host of Caravaggeschi, and the rich seventeenth century with works by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, Guido Reni, Guercino, Pietro da Cortona. The eighteenth-century collection preserves important works by Maratti, Batoni, Canaletto and much more. I conclude as always wishing you good vision and good listening with Vincenzo and Martina of Rome Guides
Visit and exhibition at Palazzo Barberini masterfully conducted by Vincenzo (as always). My host was also impressed and pleased. Thank you Rome Guides.
Taking a guided tour with Rome Guides (and Vincenzo Spina in particular) is always an experience: in addition to the detailed and in-depth preparation, the paths he manages to cut out and the communication of the contents, the histrionic ability to tell facts and events always makes all visits alive and real.
Thanks to Vincenzo we had the opportunity to learn about the immense artistic treasure of Palazzo Barberini. Vincenzo, known on this occasion, was a great discovery for us: a professional, volcanic and very prepared guide, able to keep our attention high for all two and a half hours of the visit. The two floors of Palazzo Barberini are full of history: from the Middle Ages to the 18th century it was a succession of notions, explanations and anecdotes, all stuffed with Vincenzo’s ability to involve himself. We hope to be able to participate in the next visits organized by Rome Guides. Cristiana and Simone
Extraordinary visit to Palazzo Barberini! Vincenzo, with his extraordinary professionalism and his unique involvement, there accompanied in an interesting excursus on Italian and European art, from the Middle Ages to the 18th century.. Thanks again Vincenzo! See you next time!
