This is a wonderful museum that deserves to be seen by more visitors. It’s a bit off the beaten path but is a lovely hidden gem with a beautiful garden. Our guide, Vincenzo, made the history of the Etruscans come alive for us. Lovely exhibits and no crowds in May when we visited.

Itinerary
The National Etruscan Museum in Villa Giulia is considered the most representative Italian Museum of the Etruscan civilization and is located within Villa Giulia, the suburban residence of Pope Jules III (1550-55), designed by Vignola and realized with the participation of Ammannati and Vasari. In 1889 the villa was destined to be the Museum of the pre-Roman Antiquities of Latium. Two wings were added between 1912 and 1923. Specific sections are also dedicated to Etruscan epigraphy, to the history of the Museum and to the architectonic complex of Valle Giulia. Of particular interest are the exhibits of the Apollo from Veio (sixth century BC), the Sarcophagus of the Spouses from Cerveteri (sixth century BC), the high relief and the golden thin sheets from Pyrgi (fifth century BC), the Apollo dello Scasato from Falerii (fourth century BC), the Centaur from Vulci (sixth century BC) and the so-called Cista Ficoroni from Palestrina (fourth century BC).

We loved our private tour with Vincenzo. He was prompt and courteous. A spirited guide who obviously enjoys his work, Vincenzo showed us the top highlights of this very interesting, major collection of Etruscan artifacts housed in the beautiful Villa Giulia. Next time we're in Rome we will be sure to engage his services again.
Vincenzo was great. Very insightful and lively. He really went above and beyond to tell us everything about the Etruscan civilization.
Vincenzo was absolutely amazing. His knowledge of the history and culture of those times was incredible. We can't wait to return to Rome and have another tour with him.
I visited Rome in July and was fortunate enough to do a tour of the National Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia with Rome Guides. Vincenzo was a pleasure to listen to, and a treasure trove of information. He made the Museum come alive for me, and I learned more than I could have imagined! His sense of humor and love for history made this a unique experience for me. The museum is housed in a spectacular villa with beautiful gardens, and that added to the experience. This museum is off the beaten track for foreign visitors and I really enjoyed that too. We came across a Parkinson’s movement group in the museum, doing a dance class and it was fascinating to peek at something totally local like that. It was moving. The museum itself is a treasure trove but if not for Vincenzo’s comments, it would have been much less interesting. Later that afternoon, I ran into Vincenzo near the Pantheon, giving another tour, and I followed him for a couple of blocks while he gave a tour to first time visitors. His enthusiasm was evident and judging by the laughter, contagious! I have spent a lot of time in Rome, and Rome Guides has a lot to offer someone like me, as well as the first time visitor. Do not hesitate to book with them!
The reclining couple, and the lively tomb, were transporting. Vincenzo was the best guide we could ever have imagined and much more. He made the Etruscans come alive for us and captured our imaginations.we could picture them as a real society. He infused us with his passion. And we were already passionate about the Etruscans. Our expectations were very high. He more than met them. And he was very sweet, too.
Every time I return to Rome, Vincenzo is a real guarantee to live and know this extraordinary city! This time he exceeded all expectations: he accompanied us to the Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia and, despite the enormous quantity and richness of the finds, he managed to tell us about Etruscan civilization in a clear, passionate and above all never heavy way! You can immediately perceive his great competence and love for his work: an engaging guide, never boring, able to make you go home with the feeling of having really learned something. Highly recommended without any doubt!
A guided tour to leave you speechless! Vincenzo took us through rooms and display cases with a lively, accurate presentation, rhythmized by the careful choice of topics, pieces, themes, historical insights that best suit us, enriching the visit with details, curiosity and specificity without ever being boring or redundant.
The fascinating and evolved world of the Etruscans masterfully presented by the always impeccable Vincenzo who was not limited to the ancient people but illustrated the history of the wonderful container, the splendid Villa Giulia.
Vincenzo is always a guarantee. It is not only for his undoubted preparation and the clarity of his explanations, but also for the ability to involve people both with moments of acting on his part, and by making them actively participate in the story he is telling. And then you realize two hours have passed in a heartbeat.
We organized the tour for our son's birthday (15 years old). Vincenzo, the guide, really surprised everyone. He managed to make a tour of one of the most difficult museums to talk about exciting for a group of teenagers. Highly recommended! If you want to make a historical/educational tour interesting by transforming it into a playful, fun and almost theatrical experience... this is the guide you are looking for!
Vincenzo was engaging and helped us discover details about the Etruscan civilization that were unknown to me. Good, capable of capturing attention. Thank you
Visit to the Etruscan museum of Villa Giulia, Vincenzo is confirmed to be an EXCEPTIONAL guide every time! He brought us into the world of the Etruscan people with passion professionalism. Highly recommended.
Today visit to the museum of Villa Giulia, in search of the history of the Etruscans , conducted very well by Vincenzo, who has revealed our mysteries and knowledge, without getting bored indeed stimulating from room to room the involvement and interest. Highly recommended
Today I attended the visit to the exhibition Inferno alle Scuderie del Quirinale accompanied by Vincenzo. It was an experience to remember because Vincenzo as Dante showed us and commented on all the works present making us relive the spirit of Dante. But the extraordinary thing about this experience is that Dante di Vincenzo had no historical time could live the Middle Ages and our contemporaneity. Vincenzo accompanied us with extreme competence but above all he fascinated us with his culture and his classic and ironic quotes on current events. The exhibition at the Scuderia ends tomorrow but follow The visits organized by Vincenzo because he will amaze you and enrich your knowledge and your curiosity with his polite and competent ways and will turn every visit into an experience
Incredible visit to discover an admirable civilization that has been able to influence Greeks and Romans. Let yourself be led by the masterful Vincenzo who with his compelling narration will make you reflect, think, passionate and smile benevolently before the history of this extraordinary people. I wish you as always good listening.
The tour of the museum was exciting, sparkling and very interesting. Vincenzo is a guide nothing short of perfect with a communicative and expressive ability more unique than rare. Very well prepared, extremely polite and with a passion for history perceptible at his every word. I enjoyed the tour so much that surely when I return to Rome I will book other itineraries with them. You can't see Rome without them.
We stayed in Rome, the eternal city. Thanks to Roma Guides it was not only beautiful (the city is beautiful in its own right), but simply FAN TA STI CO! The experience of those who transported us to the past, the rich information, without being heavy and above all the ability to communicate leading you not only to discover, but also to relive the most exciting moments of city life, are of the highest level if not exceptional. A visit to the Etruscan museum has become a total experience. We were transmitted the passion, the desire to make ourselves understood by involving ourselves on different levels of communication. Superior. Never again without..
