Met Vincenzo at my escape room in Bangkok eight years ago. He said if I ever came to Rome, call him. Most people forget. I didn’t. I called. We spent a few days arranging it; he tailored the tour to us. Private van, four churches, me + parents + son (basically age 20 to 95). Everybody loved it. Between stops he’d drop the kind of facts that made the next place make sense — so for days after we kept walking past spots he’d already unlocked and finally had something to say besides “wow, old.” Funny part: we had a van. You’d think that means easy legs. The churches disagreed. They’re so big that even with a driver, the step app still clocked about 8 km. Rome doesn’t just overload your brain — it quietly ruins your shoes. Walking fun encyclopedia. Most memorable thing we did in Rome. Want a private guide who actually knows the city? Vincenzo.

Our tour guide Vincenzo was fantastic. He brought an energy to the history of Rome’s origins, places and buildings. His storytelling allows you to create images in your mind about how things may have been. You learn about history through important figures , their relationships and how Rome advanced in the different periods of time. During stops, as well as street walks, Vincenzo has you immersed in observations and stories from start to finish. He treats you like this is his first tour when you know you are only one of many. A pleasure and well worth your time and engagement. You will not forget this tour, Rome or Vincenzo.
Interesting and informative tour of the city. Our guide was interactive and funny. Would recommend doing for sure !!!
Our tour with Barbi is simply fantastic. She is able to pack in so much information while keeping her audience totally hooked and with 12 yo boys, that is a not small challenge!we spent two hours in the Colosseum and even though we thought we already knew a lot given this was our 5th visit to Rome, she managed to surprise us with a whole host of fun, interesting and well researched facts that filled our conversations for the rest of the day. Also, her great energy without being pushy is absolutely contagious making for a memorable highlight of our 4 days in Rome. Thank you, Barbi!
Vincenzo is a wonderful guide. Very knowledgeable about art, architecture, and history. Informative and entertaining. We never felt rushed and he adjusted the pace to our needs. He did an excellent job of helping us through crowds. We would highly recommend him. In three hours we received an excellent introduction to Rome.
I will start with one word - REMARKABLE! As a world traveller, I come across tour guides a lot, but Vincenzo blew us away. We were a group of 11. Vincenzo and I connected 9 months before the trip. Every interaction was always nothing but perfect. The tours we had in Rome were nothing short of a theatrical production lead by a historian. We started with the city tour, where Vincenzo shared his passion about the artistic/architectural landmarks of Rome. We continued with Roman Forum and Colosseum, where we felt the landmarks come alive with Vincenzo’s captivating stories. Finally, we may as well receive a degree in Vatican museums and Borghese Gallery as Vincenzo spent generous amount of time sharing the secrets behind the art works. I addition, Vincenzo went above and beyond giving us tips and tricks around Rome including helping us to book the most sought after restaurants. All in all, he was REMARKABLE. True professional, passionate about his trade and absolute admirer of his city of Rome. Thank you from Niagara University in Canada from the bottom of our hearts. Vincenzo, you are a STAR!
We went on a 3 hr walking tour of the center of Rome with Vincenzo. It was a great experience. He’s knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and incredibly engaging. We got so much more out of the experience than we would have if we’d viewed the same locations on our own. Highly recommend!
Vincenzo is a first class tour guide. During our day and a half with him, we learned much history, art and architecture. He is incredibly knowledgable with outstanding enthusiasm. Would recommend him to anyone.
You only find exceptional outcomes when in difficult circumstances - and we had it all: it rained like it never did in Rome and we were in family with kids … but still Vincenzo managed to get us through all the really relevant information and without the kids getting rebellious - we repeated obviously for the Colosseo and Imperial Forum and this time with better weather - the visit and the explanations were as if we lived that time along Vincenzo - thank you truly for your energy and dedication
We did four tours: Borghese Gallery, Vatican Museum/St. Peter’s/Sistine Chapel, Imperial Rome, City Center. We saw essentially every major landmark of the city during those four tours. Martina was extremely knowledgeable about art and history. She is easy going and worked directly with us and our interest to tailor our tours so we maximized our exposure to the history and art of Rome. Martina’s delightful personality lends itself to a positive and enjoyable experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with her. We had very basic knowledge of the history and who the important figures of Rome were. Our knowledge was dramatically increased in a few days with Martina. It is overwhelming to understand what happened here - sometimes in the very place you are standing - but Martina explained it all with great insight. We have never used a guide before. Our experience was 1000 times better than if we had tried to do this trip on our own or with a group. We cannot recommend Rome Guides more highly!
It felt like being in a Netflix documentary. The energy, the knowledge, the interaction created a magic night. Giovanni is funny, witty incredibly passionate about every detail from the architecture, toponomastic, stories of the people the fun facts, the loves and the betrayal, the fights the murderers, the food, traditions, everything in a continuous flow that takes you in a different world. Ablosolutely stunning entertainer, best experience ever!
Absolutely top notch. We did 5 different tours with Rome Guides, 4 with Vincenzo and 1 with Martina. In the vacation we had spent 19 total days, with several other tour guides when we were on a cruise, and there was no doubt who had the top honors, the experiences in Rome with Vincenzo were fantastic. Specificaly his ability to take overwhelming museums and ruins and turn it into a fun, interactive story, ensures that you can take away something from the experience. We saw countless statues, paintings and ruins on our vaction, and in just days most of them have fuzzed into the background, but the whole family will always remember the stories and peope that Vincenzo spoke abount, from Bernini and Boromini, to Michelangelo and Raffaelo.
Martina was a wonderful guide, providing lots of history and making it fun. Having just the 2 of us with the guide made it a truly personal experience with lots of opportunities for question. She also helped explain some of the local customs. Highly recommend!
We are repeat visitors to Rome and repeat tourists escorted by Vincenzo and Rome Guides. Our experience five years ago was fabulous. Although expectations for this visit were high, it did not disappoint. We booked two full-day tours...... I wish we had done three. Way worth the money. To state that it was marvelous is an understatement. Vincenzo's knowledge is vast. His love of Rome is obvious and felt. His speaking and teaching skills are notable. He shaped and focused the tours specifically on what we wanted to see. We saw a side of Rome that few have experienced. I have taken walking tours all over the world, many memorable. The time this week with Vincenzo was truly some of the best travel experiences I have had.
Vincent was a very enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide. This tour was a great first introduction to the city!
We booked a full day tour with Vincenzo and Martina for city center, forum Romanum and Colosseum. It was outstanding! So much knowledge and the enthusiasm for Roman history! Thank you for this wonderful experience! We will book you again next time we are back in Rome
Wow - a wonderful case where the all-star TA reviews are superbly matched by a full-package stellar experience! You can’t go wrong! We highly value seeing great places with expert eyes and help and have had guides in many places - it is simply a smart investment into your and your family’s gaining memorable moments in magic places. Martina and Vincenzo were amazing to deal with from start to finish, incl online exchanges to confirm the booking, discuss the priorities for our group (challenge: get to see as much as possible in the 5 hrs we had available! Challenge succeeded!). Their commitment to hospitality went as far as pushing back their own vacation by a day to let us experience Rome through their eyes and knowledge. You would simply look at cold stones in the Forum Romanum when you are visiting just by yourself and a guidebook or in one of the huge groups that we passed. Martina brought the life of the Romans to us in her historical storytelling, with wit, fun, facts, and yes, cats! All family members agree that this was above 5 stars - and that includes a range of family members with their first visit outside the US, to our son who is extremely well versed in history. Each one of us gained new memories, nuggets of knowledge and insight, and lots of smiles with Martina’s stories!! Oh, and not to forget: the variety of places and stories that Martina shared with us was just breathtaking and a testament to the depth of her expertise! We started with fountains in Piazza Navona, followed by Caravaggios, trompe l’oeils of amazing proportions, unique details about the Pantheon, Caesar’s murder and burial, cats !!, and touristy “musts” like the Fontana di Trevi and the Spanish Steps - and each with Martina’s twist of memorable history!! Wonderful!
Vincenzo was an incredible tour guide for the Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and some nearby cathedrals. Very smart and funny and engaging. Well worth it. My kids, ages 14 and 16, loved it as much as the parents.
With only one day in Rome I had the extreme fortune to have Vincenzo and Martina take me to beautiful, historic sites. Their knowledge of history, culture and art, combined with amazing story telling, interactive conversations, and humor was more than I ever could have hoped for! They tied elements of various time periods and historic moments together to make each stop meaningful. My tour time was obviously carefully planned and thought out. Their personal attention to detail is unsurpassed, and especially meaningful as I was traveling solo in an unknown (for me) city. At the end of the day, the city was no longer unknown to me. I plan to come back to spend more time in this beautiful city and of course my first contact will be to engage Vincenzo or Martina again! These two are excellent and beyond compare!
We were tremendously impressed by our tour guide - Vincent! He was so well versed, educated and knowledgeable about any and all of the places we went to. He engaged us in thoughts, conversations and made the experience so much better. You have one of the best tour guides in your hands!
We did a walking tour with Martina and it was engaging and extremely informative. Fantastic way to get a sense of the city center of Rome along with context for all the history. Highly recommend this tour, as just viewing these amazing sites is not complete with the background.
Highly recommend! Martina escorted us from the Colosseum through the Roman forum and to city center. She provided thorough historic context of Roman history. She knew everything! She thought of each detail to make our experience pleasant. We never had to wait in line and she saved us so much time. She knew where to go to get the best views. She secured us a table at a great place for lunchtime. She seamlessly navigated through crowded areas. It felt like a VIP experience.
Martina is a fantastic guide with knowledge far beyond just Rome. The historic events was set into context and we were in a very nice way encouraged to ask questions and elaborate on historic events with our own thoughts and knowledge. The event itself felt very personal, almost like walking around with someone you know very well. 5 stars! No doubt!
Vincenzo ist the best! We learned so much aabout ancient Rome ! He Tool us Tom the best places. Next Time well do it again. Thanx a lot
A work colleague and I had an amazing time on two days of tours with Vincenzo! He is incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining, talks with his hands like we would expect from a real Italian and brought Rome to life for us. One the first day, he led us through a guided tour through sections of the Vatican Museum. The next day we did a walking tour of Rome that started at the exterior of the Colosseum, proceeded to several Triumphant Arches, up to a gorgeous view of the Roman Forum, Piazza Campidoglio, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, a quick break with the best cappuccino in Rome and more! Among many topics, we learned about the drama of Michelangelo and Rafael, the differences between gladiators and hunters, Bernini’s elephant and Caravaggio’s talent with light. These tours were fabulous. I look forward to coming back in the future with my family. Highly recommend.
Not only was Vincenzo was a wealth of knowledge and made exploring Rome memorable, but he also was charming, thoughtful and funny throughout our private tour together. I highly recommend hiring Vincenzo (seriously just do it) whether it is your first or 50th visit in Rome. He was able to teach my boyfriend new things (and he grew up here) while also keeping me engaged as a relative newcomer to the city. Our tour with him was a highlight of our trip - and we even went in the rain! Vincenzo is a true gem and you won’t regret having him as your guide through any part of Rome!
We had a lot of fun during this walk in the center of the city. Our guide Vincenzo knew a lot of fun facts but also was able to frame the places we visited within their historical context, with an eye on how things had changed from the ancient Roman times to the Middle Ages to today. It was partly raining so some of the stops we had were great to hide in when raining, and Vincenzo knew lots of things about each church or location we were in or nearby, so he always kept our interests up with a fresh but informative style. Highly recommend this tour.
This tour was amazing! The breadth of knowledge, depth, engagement in material and sights visited was beyond anything expected. Vincenzo is superb and that is an understatement. I have never had a tour guide and my partner insisted we hire one. Let me tell you; it was the best decision we made. I'd like to return to Rome again and spend a week hearing Vincenzo. I would truly hope I can return again and spend a few days with him because he knows so much! Who would have thought one tour would spark such a flame and interest. Vincenzo is not only dedicated to his groups, as he was to us. He is dedicated to the sites, the history, the story which attests to a deep flame and passion.
We booked a tour with Vincenzo for a group of European and Japanese CEOs, and it was a simply fantastic experience! We explored Prati, Castel Sant’Angelo, Via dei Coronari, beautiful churches, and admired the Pantheon from the outside. We were also lucky with the weather: a beautiful sunny day in mid-October! Vincenzo is very knowledgeable and is a truly exquisite, friendly, and helpful person. He was always very attentive and quick in his responses during the organization, and during the tour, he was able to answer all our questions! He made the tour fun, engaging, and interactive: we learned so much without ever getting bored. Even a participant from Rome discovered things they didn't know about their own city! Everyone was thrilled. A truly splendid way to discover Rome: we will definitely contact Vincenzo without hesitation for a future visit. Thank you from the heart!
As a Roman, I thought I knew Trastevere, but Vincenzo gave me new eyes: places I had passed by a thousand times now have an extra meaning and memory. Fabulous, highly recommended, organized perfectly!
An exceptional guide! We had the pleasure of visiting Rome accompanied by Vincenzo, a truly exceptional guide. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable, but above all a very nice person capable of conveying enthusiasm for every place he helped us discover. We visited the Pantheon and Villa Borghese. His way of telling history, with curiosity and friendliness, made the visit pleasant and engaging. A guide that we absolutely recommend to anyone who wants to discover Rome not only through its monuments, but also through the stories and emotions that make them special. Very good Vincenzo, as usual you never prove us wrong and you always surprise us!
Vincenzo transmitted to us with great verve known and less known aspects of Roman history and culture, always managing to provide us with historical information and new and particular anecdotes. He is a serious, professional and experienced guide. I will remember with pleasure his detailed description of the personalities and characteristics of the Roman Baroque, as well as his account of the spirit and artistic approach, very particular, of the great Caravaggio. Thank you, Vincenzo, for the information you have provided, always entertaining us lightly.
Vincenzo accompanied us through the center of Rome with great professionalism and a lot of sympathy: time has flown and we will certainly participate in other initiatives! Thank you so much!
There were 10 of us, coming from Lombardy, Puglia, Lazio, Campania, Tuscany. I had booked a private visit with Vincenzo knowing for years his professionalism. I wanted to give my guests an experience that was not ordinary and so it was. His visit mixing history, myths, anecdotes, art history and some goodies of etymology left everyone excited. Vincenzo is a guarantee and a precious resource for Rome and the Romans. Thank you thank you thank you.
Vincenzo is an exceptional guide, who knows how to move with mastery both in conducting modern collections and in more traditional museological contexts: competent yes, but also able to excite and involve the listener. Highly recommended
We toured the Via Sacra, the Forums and the Markets of Trajan with Vincenzo and it was a truly memorable experience. From the first moment he proved to be a super helpful and easygoing person, able to put us immediately at ease and make the visit pleasant, interesting and engaging. The tour was built exactly as we wanted it, with great flexibility on timing and route. Vincenzo knows Rome and its history impeccably and manages to tell it with enthusiasm and simplicity, without ever being boring. We really recommend it to those who want to discover the city with a prepared and passionate guide.
Vincenzo is an exceptional tour guide. He accompanied us along the Via Sacra, the Forums and the Markets of Trajan with great competence and passion, making the visit engaging from beginning to end. He was super friendly, always available and able to answer any questions with clear and interesting explanations. He customized the tour exactly according to our requests, adapting timing and route to our needs. An experience that we recommend without hesitation to those who want to discover Rome with a prepared and passionate guide - best value for money.
We were lucky enough to take a private tour with Vincenzo and what about... it was much more than just a guided tour! His way of telling is a true storytelling: he takes you by the hand and takes you on a journey through time, among surprising anecdotes, details never taken for granted and so much passion. We walked through the center of Rome completely forgetting the present, immersed in the stories he told us with lightness, irony and so much competence. One of those experiences that leaves something inside you. Highly recommended if you are looking for authenticity and wonder!!
Vincenzo is a TOP guide! It made the tour extremely interesting, interactive and engaging. We were about 20 people (all foreigners - English tour language) and each actively participated in the activities that Vincenzo proposed. It was an afternoon of new things to learn, anecdotes and laughter. Our advice! Great job!!
Magic experience, and unforgettable, Vincenzo super nice guy full of resources and sought-after anecdotes. With his explanations he took us back in time making us completely immerse ourselves in ancient Rome. Experience to do but especially with him!
I returned to Rome after 4 years with my nephew and sister, I deliberately requested a guided tour with Vincenzo , whom I met in 2021, who confirmed the reason for my choice: Good, prepared and engaging as only he can do. Surely if I return to this beautiful city I would still choose him as a guide.
Rome is fantastic! Vincenzo, the guide, made it magnificent! So much passion that can only take you too!
Vincenzo was really exceptional. It has a rare ability to engage and keep the listener’s attention alive: two and a half hours literally fly! He was very attentive to the needs of each participant, demonstrating empathy and sensitivity. Nice, brilliant, with an acting touch that makes every moment even more enjoyable. A formative and engaging experience.
We went to the National Gallery of Modern Art to see the exhibition of futurism. Vincenzo, our guide, presented himself in futuristic uniform, as shown in the photo, and transformed the next two hours into an immersion in the visionary project of Filippo Tommaso Marinetti, Giacomo Balla and the other artists who revolutionized a certain way of making art in the first half of the twentieth century. The exhibition, boundless in the 24 rooms, would have been very dispersive without Vincenzo’s words acting as a thread capable of weaving a conceptual plot of the development of the futurist avant-garde. The two hours have flown, and we are already looking for a date to be shown by Vincenzo the bourgeois gallery. With him, every descent into Rome becomes an opportunity to learn something about Italian art in an anecdotal, cultured and fun way.
We had Vincenzo as a guide for a school group (tour in English) and I can only talk about it very well. Not only does he have in-depth knowledge but he is able to transmit his passion, both to children and to us adults. It directly involves participants in explanations, such as making two boys "gladiators" to better understand some concepts. I highly recommend it, I myself would like to have it as a guide for my personal travels as well. If you are in Rome you could not have a better guide.
A walking tour for an unforgettable team building in the center of Rome. Starting from Piazza di Spagna, with the wonderful staircase leading to Trinità dei Monti and the curious Fontana della Barcaccia, we crossed Piazza Mignanelli with the Column of the Immaculate Conception and from there we moved to the famous Trevi Fountain, an eighteenth-century masterpiece, dominated by the imposing bulk of Ocean. A walk that took us to Piazza di Pietra, where we saw the Temple of Hadrian, and from there to the Pantheon, definitely the most extraordinary engineering work of ancient Rome, a monument of unsurpassed proportions. Touching Palazzo Madama and San Luigi dei Francesi, we arrived at Piazza Navona, and from there we ventured through Campo de' Fiori, detailing both Palazzo Farnese, home of the French Embassy, and Palazzo Spada, home of the State Recommendation: the first Renaissance masterpiece, the second piece of Mannerist elegance. The crossing of Ponte Sisto led us to the lively Piazza Trilussa, where the tour ended to thunderous applause from the 35 people, all for Vincenzo, the Guide who was able to make us imagine with his mastery and talkativeness and a perfect knowledge of the English language the wonderful city of Rome. Recommendation to all this tour, because even work and training moments, can enchant their employees with activities of this type, if they are guided by a Pro like Rome Guides
Vincenzo was spectacular, he led us to ancient Rome with skillful sympathy was able to involve us in historical stories full of charm making us identify with characters who lived in ancient Rome. Rome with him is unforgettable!!!! Recommended for families with young boys or group of friends!!! Vincenzo is a blast!!!
Do you want to know anecdotes and the history of Rome walking through the centuries with a friendly voice that will make you dream among the Roman remains? Well called Vincenzo Spina... yesterday evening starting from the Palatine we looked out over the swamp of Romulus theater of the forum that will be thanks to Numa Pompilio, and crossing the cordon designed, for a change, by Michelangelo, we go down to the Roman markets and with the spiritual help of Hercules we reach the Tiber island where the spirit of the dentist Auffa still reminds the Romans to be careful .. at the steps of the hospital Tiber Island! Always unique and fantastic Enzo!!! Thank you very much
Fantastic guided tour of about two hours at the Colosseum, conducted in an excellent manner by Vincenzo, who gave us enthusiasm and curiosity to know everything about the history of ancient Rome and the customs of the time. Highly recommended!
Unforgettable day with Martina, an extraordinary guide who fascinated us with the history of the Colosseum and led us into the most ancient heart of eternal Rome. We had a great time!! Thank you Martina, we would like to return as soon as possible for another appointment, so keep the sign! Rossella & family
