Itinerary
We begin in Campo de' Fiori, one of Rome's most famous piazza's. Nowadays its known for lively bars and restaurants but it was once a site of executions making it the perfect place to start our spooky adventure!
This beautiful square has seen many lavish parties by the city’s elite. But with fortune comes scandal… and secrets.
See several madonelles or “little madonnas” along our route and we’ll learn about their former function as crime-stopping statues.
Being the oldest bridge in Rome, Ponte Sisto has a lot of history including a gruesome past. Hear about the tragic accidents, power struggles, theft and of course, suspicious deaths surrounding this bridge.
Drinking from fountains in Rome is illegal but drinking from this one is deadly.
This 17th century church is decorated in human remains and serves as a reminder to visitors that death is closer than we think.
There’s a reason that this apartment block is haunted and that’s because it was the site of one of the worst prisons in Italy’s history.
This Spanish church has a scandalous story worthy of a “telenovela”.
This former beauty shop tells us the story of when cosmetics can kill.
On the surface it’s just a normal house, but it was once the childhood home of Rome’s most infamous executioner.
The bridge that was used to expose the bodies of the executed as a warning to sinners is now surrounded by statues of angels. Hear the story of the Cenci family and how they met a bloody end.

It was very interesting and informative. Maham was an entertaining guide who kept us all engaged throughout.
Informative; good to see / hear other aspects of Rome
Mahram was wonderful! She kept the whole group interested and engaged!
Amazing Experience! Absolutely enjoyed the tales Antonio told us about. He left us wanted to explore more of the stories he told us.
We had a wonderful tour guide. She was very knowledgeable. It had just the right amount of spookiness. I would definitely recommend. The history was so good and she explained it so well.
Maham was a brilliant tour guide, incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining, we had a great time can’t recommend enough!
Great nighttime walking tour! We had an awesome time with our tour guide Csenge learning about the murderous history of Rome
Simón was a great guide and made the experience amazing. The only negative aspect was that the tour was not well announced as English speaking tour
Really good tour and in depth knowledge about Rome and its history. We really enjoyed hearing about the dark history of many families that lived in Italy
Very interesting stories, showed a new side of the city ! I recommend this experience which is both intellectual and fun.
Ana was great! Very knowledgeable and nice! She did a great job. Tour was not scary, and was t too bad in terms of walking. Ana was wonderful!
Amazing tour of the darker side of the history of Rome. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Our tour guide Maham was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and entertaining. Highly recommend.

We love this experience. It was so informative and entertaining. The tour guide, Dina, was perfect. We loved every minute.
Maham shared a number of interesting tidbits about the city I would not have known about otherwise, thank you for the insights!
It was good, hard to hear in the busy areas. 11 stops total and was 2 hours long, could have been wrapped up in an hour and a half easily/. Fun to have the touring in the evening.
So great- one of the best tours here! We had such an incredible time- learned so much! We highly recommend- thank you so much!
Was a very great tour! Learned so many new things which I had no idea of, and the symbolism behind everything was extremely interesting! Our tour guide, Csingi was amazing :))
It was informative and fun. Csenge was very engaging and had a wealth of knowledge. I wouldn't mind an even longer walking tour.
We thoroughly enjoyed this 2 hour walking tour with some fascinating and at times macabre history and legends. It takes in some hidden and beautiful areas of the city with a perfect finish stood over the river. Highly recommended.
It was highly interesting and insightful. We learnt about some of the darker alternative history of Rome, which was inspiring. A good way to spend an evening in the city centre.
Sarah was an excellent guide for the tour. She shared many interesting and “spicy” stories along our time together. My son and I were thoroughly impressed with her knowledge and ability to share it. Would do again next time in Rome for sure!
Interesting tour that tells the grim parts of roman history. Especially our tour guide Dinara was absolutely fantastic. Thanks a lot!
We had a great walk through Rome with our tour guide, Csenge. She was very knowledgeable and answered all of the group's questions. Provided interesting stories. The stop by the church with skulls around the entrance was A+.
Diletta was the best tour guide! She told us wonderful stories and kept the group engaged at all times! We had a blast, and my friends wanted to go to another one. The walk itself wasn’t too bad either, and each location was eerie and fun!
This was a great experience. We learned a lot about Rome’s very interesting history. Our tour guide, Diletta, made it even more enjoyable and captivating!
We went on the tour with Maham last night and it was amazing! Maham was so knowledgeable and friendly, taking time to chat with us all whilst walking to locations. This was my 3rd ghost tour in a European city and it did not disappoint. If you like to learn about macabre and paranormal events this is the tour for you! Highly recommend. Thank you Maham!
Diletta was a wonderful guide and made the experience worth it. It was a fun and interesting walk. I enjoyed it and so did my family.
This was such a great tour. Enjoyed it thoroughly! The tour guide Paola was really informative and lovely. She clearly loves the city and its rich history and that fully came across in the material and her presentation. Would definitely recommend for all the lovers of creepy historic stories.
Our guide Diletta was excellent. She is very knowledgeable and the tour is not only informative but also fun. Highly recommended
I had so much fun and she was great. She explained everything in. So much detail that everyone was laughing and having a great time.
This was a really fun and interesting tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, and fun to talk with!
We had a really nice tour, nice pacing and not to fast but also not too slow. The stories were really interesting and we learned a lot. Our guide was Csenge and she did a great job :)
Csenge was very knowledgeable. Nice walk around the city. We stopped at alot of interesting spots!!!
Claudette was very knowledgeable. The reason not a five star was vaitor changed our tour to hour later. We were very tired as we had just arrived that after afternoon from USA.
Paula is an awesome human who is full of fascinating and delightfully macarbe stories about Rome. It was an extremely refreshing way to see Rome and I would recommend this to all grim seeking adventurers.
Dalilah, our guide, was very entertaining and knowledgeable and the perfect accompaniment for the walk. It lasted just over 2hrs and was a mix of local history and a few gory / ghostly tales. Make sure you wear comfy trainers! 😂
We booked this tour for our last night in Rome and we are so happy that we did. We were excited to discover that Delilah was our guide, since we read glowing reviews about her in other posts. She did not disappoint. Not only was she knowledgeable & insightful about the mysterious and sometimes gruesome events in Rome’s history, but she had a wonderfully dry, dead-pan sense of humor. It was kind of like having Wednesday Addams from the Netflix show, Wednesday, as our guide. She definitely piqued our interest with the stories she told, so much so that we wanted to learn more about Beatrice Cenchi, Giulia Tofano, and poor, poor Bruno, who was tortured and executed in the very spot where our tour began. The 2-plus hours of creepy stories about elaborate murders, vengeful spirits, horrific prisons & haunted bridges just flew by. During the tour, we had to navigate around drunken folks spilling out of local bars. We thought it was due to it being St. Patrick’s day, but Delilah informed us that it had nothing to do with the holiday, but just a typical fun Friday night in Rome. In any case, she made sure that all 15 people in our tour stayed together, stayed safe & hydrated, were enjoying the tour and were not run over by cars going WAY too fast down narrow, cobblestone streets. (Something that we never quite got used to during our time in Rome.) We highly recommend this tour. Not only did we learn a lot about Rome’s dark history, we also had a blast doing it. Delilah was very witty & informative and an asset to the tour company. But if anyone offers you Aqua de Tofano while on the tour, just say no!! Haha! Grazie!
Best tour ever! Our guide was so entertaining and we got great insights into the history of Rome. Would do it again anytime
sehr kurzweilige Führung mit unterschiedlichen Themen und Geschichten welche man beim Spaziergang durch Rom ansonsten übersehen würde
This was a fun experience, especially because of the enthusiasm of the group leader. The duration was just right. The stories told could just as well be heavily invented, but we don't care
