Private Guided Tour To Pompeii And Positano From Rome

Andrea was amazing! He made sure that every detail of our day was covered. Including providing us with a few trinkets from our visit.

We had a wonderful time with Andrea on our trip to Pompeii and Positano! He was very accommodating to any requests we had. We had a private tour of Pompeii to make the most of our time. Afterward, he helped us select a great restaurant in Positano by the seaside and called ahead for us to have seating. All of it was perfect, and he even got us back a little early so we could make it to a dinner. Ten out of ten day!

Andrea was a great tour guide, driver. We had a Volvo SUV. Very accommodating. Stopped for pictures and sight seeing. It was a great trip!

Andrea our driver was great. Pompeii is neat to walk around. Positano was a beautiful drive there a great town with great restaurants. Drive back is a little long but there is no changing that.

What a great way to see another interesting and gorgeous part of Italy without packing up and traveling. Our driver, Andrea, was so friendly and helpful. He was more than willing to stop and wait for us on the road or to offer helpful recommendations for lunch in Positano. He also spent quite a bit of time trying to dislodge my son’s AirPod from under a van seat, which we did successfully recover once we got back to the hotel! Pompeii is a very cool tour. Andrea was able to upgrade us to a private tour for no extra charge. And Positano plus the scenery driving there is jaw dropping. Great day!

Andrea was wonderful! The car was very comfortable as we settled in for the drive to Pompeii. He made sure we were always comfortable and offered to stop for food or toilets whenever we needed. He arranged a private guide for us enroute as I’d forgotten to do it in advance. After Pompeii, he took us to Positano, stopping at several lovely viewpoints and telling us about the area. In Positano, he gave us good advice about where to head to find food and drinks since it was a holiday and little would be open. Sure enough, where he directed us had a nice pizza place open right on the beach. He was always kind and with a big smile. This was a wonderful day!

This was a fantastic way to have a day trip from Rome to Pompeii and Positano. Our driver/guide, Andrea, was fantastic!! He was very knowledgeable, sweet, helpful, and attentive. I would highly recommend him and this tour!

It was the highlight of our trip. Andrea was a true gentleman who took very good care of all our needs and was very informative. The private tour of Pompeii was was worth every penny and it was lovely to sample the Amalfi coast and have lunch in Positano. Highly recommend this tour, it was excellent.

I had never been to the Amalfi coast, so I decided to try this day trip instead of just going to Pompeii as originally planned. Andrea was an excellent driver and took us to a few points of interest along the way. The van was comfortable for our large group of 7. I would recommend paying the modest extra fee for the private tour in Pompeii. Our guide was very good... if I were just visiting Pompeii, I would have spent more time than the two hours or so that we had, but we got to see a fair amount. The drive from there to Positano had spectacular views, and we had time for a nice lunch and a bit of strolling and shopping there. Be aware going in that this trip naturally requires a lot of driving time to reach both locations from Rome in a day... if you are like us you will snooze through the three hour return drive at the end of the day. A very nice day overall.

This was one of the best tours we have taken in all of our travels. The company literally took care of everything for us! The extra cost of a private tour was worth every penny!!

Pros: This was a lovely getaway from Rome. The Pompeii archeological site is a marvel. Our guide was native to Naples and her passion for the history of the city of Pompeii was a beauty to behold. We stopped a Limoncello factory which was quite a treat. The Amalfi coast is to die for and that little bit of time spent in Positano feel like being in a movie. The driver Andrea was a delight, patient and pleasant at al times. Cons are discussed below. This trip was incredible minus the Mafia issue which almost ruined the day for me. Without this incident I would have rated this tour 10 stars. Cons: There is long distance travel and traffic. There is Mafia activity in Naples. We requested a last minute upgrade to a Pompeii private tour which required that we meet and pay the guide outside of Pompeii. Our guide was harassed by a street female who was standing over her shoulder and even asked us for twice as much as we were asked to pay. Our guide was also harassed during our tour in Pompeii. Even though they don't mess directly with you, it ruins the fun and causes a great deal of stress. Do not pay for upgrades last minute. Ask all options in advance and coordinate in advance through your service provider. Lastly, Positano is a hike if you are not in good health and fitness you may not enjoy it.

My wife and I had an great experience visiting Pompeii and Postiano. Mr. Andrea you were excellent sir. I don't think anyone else could have done it better. (Thank you). The next time me and my wife visit. We will be sure to spend more time in Postiano, and the Amalfi coast. It was truly memorable. Thank you again

Our driver Andrea was outstanding. He was knowledgeable, friendly and went out of his way to make sure this was a special experience for our family. The private tour of Pompeii was beyond our expectations and we wrapped the day with an afternoon lunch on the beach in Positano. Thanks for a day we’ll always remember.

Wonderful way to tour the catacombs, Ancient Rome including the Appian way and learn about the rich history. Our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about what he shared throughout the tour. Federico was our tour guide and I highly recommend this tour! We had a group from age 9 to 60 and it was great for all ages. Very engaging and a great way to tour.

This was an excellent tour. It gave us the opportunity to see the coast as well as visit Pompeii and learn about the history behind it. Our driver, Andrea was excellent! He made sure we were able to see and experience both cities to its fullest extent.

Andrea is amazing. He is an excellent driver who took us to Pompeii and expertly navigated the narrow and winding streets to Positano. (Not for the faint of heart!) We thoroughly enjoyed our day.

I will say that the driver was very competent and courteous. That said, most of the excursion was spent in the car. We started this excursion at 6:50 in the morning and did not get back until nearly 830 PM. Of the 13 1/2 hours, approximately two hours were spent at Pompeii and under two hours at Positano. The tour of Pompeii was marketed as an expedited private 2 hr tour with 12-15 people. Ours had > 30, lasted 1 3/4 hrs & didn’t even include 3 of the main sites— brothel, faun, Vetti houses. Ten to 15 minutes at the beginning were spent while the guide got free tickets for kids under 17 in the group. I would not advise anyone to take this tour. It was very expensive and the description did not match the actual experience. Extremely disappointing— I had been so looking forward to seeing Pompeii.

This was one of the highlights of our trip! The driver was very friendly and made sure we had everything needed. Made stops along the way for breaks, and was very clear with instructions when we needed to separate for visiting Pompeii and Positano. His smooth driving made a big difference on the curves of the Almafi coast.

I can’t say enough good things about this tour. What an amazing family that runs this tour. You will not be disappointed. Kind, welcoming, accommodating, and flexible. We had the absolute best time, and will do again. Thank you so much for taking care of my family!!!

Our drivers, Andre & Francesca were excellent. They knew where to stop for views and photos. Had great contact with our guide at Pompeii (she even brought us directly back to them). Gave us a great restaurant in Positano and made reservations for us. The car was comfortable and clean. They were always checking to see if we needed to make a pit stop. We made and excellent choice and would highly recomend them.

We had a fantastic day with Andrea. It was so convenient being picked up from our hotel (Andrea was even early). He stopped after about an hour so we could get some breakfast and a coffee. Once at Pompeii he took us exactly where we needed to go, and made sure our tour guide knew to bring us back to him at the end. He also found bathrooms we could use and we weren't charged as he knew the people. I was really thirsty after the tour and wanted to grab a fresh orange juice, he knew exactly where to go and the orange juice was fantastic. Pompeii was pretty crowded as we happened to be there on a day it was open free to the public, but because we were pretty early we avoided most of the crowds - very busy on our way out though. Then he took us on our lunch trip to Positano. The traffic wasn't all that great but not much to be done. We stopped for a photo opportunity at one point along the way. We were glad Andrea was driving as the turns were tight with lots of pedestrians everywhere. He said it was nothing compared to summer crowds! We found a nice place to eat along the beach (Andrea leaves you to do this whilst he waits nearby to where the car is parked). Positano was beautiful, highly recommended. The traffic coming back to Rome was pretty heavy, probably took over 2.5 hours. As a result our tour ran over time but Andrea gave us plenty of warning about this. We had a stop on the way home for bathroom and drinks/snacks if we needed. He was chatty and easy to get along with, my husband had great fun talking to him in the front seat. Even got hugs at the end which I thought was lovely. Thanks for looking after us Andrea!

Andrea was wonderful, accommodating, kind and knowledgeable. It was a lot of driving for him and his assistant, Francesca but they never complained. We had a short time to see so many things and we are so happy we took this tour. We also had a wonderful tour guide for Pompei who was great with our kids and very knowledgeable. Andrea also recommended a wonderful restaurant for lunch which we all enjoyed. We would highly recommend this tour. We never felt rushed, it was a great day.

We initially had a standard group tour booked but decided that we wanted a bit more flexibility so decided to book a private tour with Andrea and are we ever glad we did! Andrea was waiting for us in our hotel lobby when we came down and directed us into his car, which was clean, comfortable and air conditioned. He pointed out different sites of Rome as we made our way to Pompeii as well as sites along the way. When we reached Pompeii, Andrea arranged with the guide who’s group we’d be joining to contact him after the tour ended, and the guide handed us off to Andrea at the end of the tour, which was in and of itself, incredible! Afterwards, he drove us down to Positano for lunch; along the way we made some quick photo stops to enjoy the views of the Bay of Naples, Sorrento and Positano. Positano itself was absolutely beautiful and the restaurant Andrea suggested couldn’t have been better! It was a long day, there’s no getting around that, but because it was a private tour that provided flexibility and we were fortunate enough to have Andrea as our guide, the day was among the best we had in Italy! Pompeii was an amazing trip. The driver Anrea the driver was amazing and very helpful. After Pompeii Anrea took us to Positano and dropped us off at his friend's restaurant right on the beach. Positano was a beautiful fishing village and the views from the cliffs were breathtaking.

What an incredible day trip to Pompeii and Positano - ticked this off our bucket list !!!! Our driver Anrea was fabulous !!!!! Picked us up from our hotel at 0700, drove us the entire day and took care of every detail - he really made our day !! You must do this private tour to these 2 incredible places !!

We had a wonderful tour with our very attentive guide Andrea! He was prompt, made sure we felt comfortable, answered all our questions, and ensured we had a relaxing and enjoyable tour! He made sure the guide in Pompeii looked over us during the tour and assisted us in finding a delicious spot for lunch in Positano! He went above and beyond and I would highly recommend a tour with him!

If I could have given this tour 10 stars, I would have because of our tour guide Anrea. The tour itself was excellent and long. This is an all day tour so plan accordingly. To see Pompeii in person is hard to put into words. So glad we made the decision to take this tour. Positano is as beautiful as imagined. If you get car sick, you will want to take something to help with that. The road to Positano is no joke and not a straight road anywhere. But I must say Anrea was the highlight of the tour for me. What a great guy to meet. I would now consider him a friend after spending so much time with him. If you are lucky enough to get Anrea, please tell him Cliff said hello. We had a great time and our driver Andreas was the most professional courteous driver we have ever had on any tour we have ever done. Really made the trip the best time for me and my friends. Pompeii and the Positano were amazing. Andrea arranged for a private tour at a great price when we arrived in Pompeii. I've done this trip before, and with his help this time was the best time I've ever had there.

I went on this tour last week with my mother, and we had a wonderful time. Our driver picked us up at the hotel and brought us back at the end of the day, allowing us to relax and enjoy the trip. The visit to Pompei was extremely interesting and I particularly enjoyed wandering through the charming streets of Positano. In my opinion, this trip is the perfect way to see both places in just one day. Besides, our driver Andrea has been very nice, offering us many helpful tips for our last days in Italy. I would definitely recommend it!

I stayed in Italy for 10 days and I can say that among the various tours, this private tour was the best one. beautiful places and a driver who spoke perfect English. 5 stars deserved.
