Private Experience: Sistine Chapel , Vatican Museums & St.peters Basilica

Our guide was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable of the art, history and religion. She kept a good pace throughout the tour and even knew how to get us in between all the crowds. Even though the tour was expensive, to us being able to hear our guide personally and not through an ear piece, being to ask questions and going at our own pace was what we needed in this once in a lifetime visit.

We booked with Through Eternity for a tour of the Sistine Chapel, Vatican Museum and St Peter's Basilica. Mickey was an incredibly knowledgeable guide with a great sense of humour. He kept us entertained and informed even during the wait due to the large crowds - thank goodness for the included skip-the-queue. Mickey made sure we were all looked after and highlighted the important features so we knew what to look out for. He even allowed us enough time at the end for a blessing from a priest at St Peter's which was particularly special. I would highly recommend him and the Through Eternity tours to anyone visiting the Vatican

She has years of experience and it shines through. Every museum employee greeted her with a smile. We had a great experience.

Alexandria was an absolute joy from start to finish. The historical knowledge, the ins and outs of the Vatican, the attention to detail….was 20/10. It was truly a personal tour & experience.

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and engaging. It was very hot and humid during our visit and the area was very busy. Everything was included and our tour guide just walked us into the areas without waiting in line. The tour was approximately 3 hours long with a lot of walking. I would recommend this for people who want a one and one experience with their guide and to remember to put on some good walking shoes.

Our guide, Alessandra was pleasant, knowledgeable and personable. We had a great time learning interesting facts, history and had many laughs along the way! We felt comfortable and we were well taken care of. A terrific experience (even my teen boys were engaged and attentive) we would recommend to anyone!

Enrica was absolutely fantastic!! She was so knowledgeable and moved at the pace our group wanted to move . I highly recommend this tour but above all I recommend Enrica as a guide .

EXCELLENT knowledgeable guide. It was super hot but Ricardo was great. It was just my husband and myself. We paid the premium price for easy access and not a group as that is what we prefer.

Great way to view exactly what you want to see with the limited time of 3 hours. Our guide, Ursus, was so knowledgeable about the history and significance of everything we viewed, and he was very friendly and engaging as well. He also did a great job navigating us through the hordes of visitors, maximizing what we could see!

Patrick was an excellent tour guide. He is experienced and very knowledgable. He provided historical perspective on all aspects of the Vatican. The tour was exactly 5 hours, which was what we expected. We felt he went above and beyond what a typical tour would have covered.

Brandon made the sculptures interesting with stories that we will remember. He could answer any question. It was great.

Donatella Mauceri was an amazing exhibitionist who gave us an indepth private tour of the Vatican museums, St. Peter's and Sistine Chapel. She took time to answer all of our questions and explained the meanings and history of the art and architecture.

The museum and Sistine Chapel were good, but the reason for the 1 star is the part of the tour for St. Peters Basilica was non-existent. We were told by our guide, "I'm taking you to the steps" of the Basilica. Then we were on our own. No tour whatsoever inside. It's not like we live in Rome and will be around to do this on another day. We saw many other tours with guides inside the Basilica but our guide was off on her own somewhere outside. We even showed our guide the tour tickets we (and 10 others) booked but it was no use. She refused to provide the complete tour per paid tickets. Apparently customer service is dragging their heels to follow up on our complaint. It's been 6 days with no updates.

Our tour guide was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about all of the art and history that we covered. I appreciate how our guide expertly maneuvered us through all the crowds while still giving a very private experiences. Our 3-hour itinerary went by quickly because our guide was so engaging. I highly recommend a private tour with Through Eternity Tours!

Our guide Marie Moscato was fantastic. She met us exactly on time at the designated meeting spot. She explained everything to us and then guided us throughout the tour of the Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basilica, sharing all of her art history knowledge with us. She even went out of her way to buy us tickets to the Pantheon when I mentioned I was having trouble with the web site the night before. Of course I repaid her for the tickets but it was a big help. The tour was great. All three sites are absolutely amazing to see especially the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel and we were lucky enough to be able to walk through the Holy Door to enter St Peter’s. I would highly recommend this tour and especially our guide.

Sistine Chapel was amazing!! Mary supplied lots of historical info and showed us all areas. She even brought us to an outside garden courtyard which was beautiful and peaceful. She did an amazing job transversing the lines of people so we could see all that we wanted! Back into the Basilica for the end and finish of the tour! It was really awesome!! So knowledgeable! Would recommend and do again!

The tour and our guide Marie were fantastic. Seeing and learning about the Museum, Chapel and Basilica was unbelievable.

Guia Grandi our guide was phenomenal. She knew every date and fact about the Vatican Museum and brought it all to life. The Raphael Rooms were incredible and Guia was able to put each piece into perspective for us.

Did not realize we had booked a private tour but we are so glad we did. Giua was thoroughly knowledgeable and able to steer us through the crowds and really tell us more than we’d get through a group tour. It was a memorable experience and we are very happy to have booked with Through Eternity and especially to have had Giua as our guide!

To say our private tour was excellent would be an understatement. Tom our tour guide made our experience once in a lifetime. He was super personable and really geared the tour to our interests and really went above and beyond. We wish Tom was our guide for anything and everything offered in Rome. St. Peter's Basilica was closed during our visit but he made up for that by showing us the painting exhibits offered by the Vatican that wasn't usually shown on the 3 hour tour. I would highly highly recommend a tour with Tom to anyone that visits Rome.

Our tour guide, Enrica, was excellent, knowledgeable, and gave us many insider art history bits of gossip about the artists and their masterpieces. She gave us a brief introduction and overview with photos of specific panels from the Sistine Chapel which is very helpful and necessary due to the height of the ceiling and the prohibition on talking while in the Chapel. The place is vast and it was great to have a wonderful and interesting guide to help us understand the history and context of what we had time to see in three hours.

Maria Letisha is an excellent guide. She has a wealth of knowledge about the Vatican and the art. She ensured everyone was together as the Vatican can be very overwhelming with groups of people.

Loved our tour guide - Thomas Robinson. He made history come alive. There are so many beautiful things to see within Vatican City but he helped us to focus on some of the more important pieces and why they were so important. He was very knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor. Can’t say enough about how much we loved this tour.

We’ve seen many pictures of these sites but they do no justice compared to being there and seeing it in person. Our guide Alberto Taggliaferri overlayed our experience with fascinating history and stories which made it all the more interesting. He is knowledgeable, friendly and came with additional books and pictures on his ipad to explain things. It went beyond just the tour because we see the artifacts he mentioned all around Rome. Highly recommend.

We loved every moment of our 3.5 hour private tour through the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Basilica with our guide, Donatella. She was so well versed in the history of Rome and the Vatican I wished we could have recorded her! What we really loved is that she carefully connected pieces of information through the rooms from beginning to end to illustrate common patterns, relationships, and customs from era to era and pope to pope. Her personal attention to us was superb, taking care that we all could hear and that the pace was okay for everyone. She made sure we knew the rules of the Sistine and found a seat for us. We highly recommend Donatella and her company! This tour was exceptional, and worth every penny!

Highly disappointed. There was no skip the line access although this was advertised. For almost 1,000 USD we had a guide from France who repeatedly made errors on his guide. When corrected with actual facts even from the Through Eternity website itself he still said he was right. He was not knowledgeable and this was sad in such an amazing place as the Vatican. He was dismissive and rude. I would strongly advise you go with another agency.

Wonderful tour of Vatican, Sistine Chapel and Basilica! This was the best tour of the Vatican we have seen. Our tour guide Siriki did an amazing job! He was so well informed, engaging, and had plenty of interesting anecdotes and facts to impart. The three hour just flew by. Even our 16y/o enjoyed it. Worth every penny. Would definitely recommend.

Great tour. Paolo was excellent! He was accommodating of our group of 11, ages 6-76. Tour was informative but he kept us moving.

Our family group of 7 arranged the private tour of the Vatican, St Peter's Basilica. and the Sistine Chapel and it was wonderful. Our tour guide, Thomas, was engaging and interesting and he took the time to get to know us and any particular things we were interested in seeing on the tour. His knowledge of history and the church gave our group much insight into the paintings, sculptures, and architecture within Vatican City. What a delight not to wait in lines or push through crowds and to be able to hear your guide because our group was so intimate. I highly recommend this early morning tour to beat the crowds and Thomas is the perfect tour guide.
