Our early-morning private tour of the Sistine Chapel and Vatican with Claudia was outstanding. Seeing the Chapel before the crowds arrived was unforgettable, and Claudia's knowledge, passion and perfect pacing brought everything to life. We've used private guides all over the world, and she's among the very best. Ask for Claudia, because you won't be disappointed!
As a family we did this tour and despite it being a busy tourist day, we absolutely loved it. Our guide, Giulia, knew so much about Rome, Vatican City and the art works, it was really interesting. She provided great information and told us amazing stories! Having a private guide makes such a difference - we would highly recommend it.
Eugenia D’Andrea was absolutely fantastic! Incredibly knowledgeable, but equally as passionate. We had a wonderful time together and she was tremendously helpful. I’m a 70myear old woman with some issues with stairs and she was considerate and of considerable aid to me while never making me feel self-conscious. I know this tour is expensive, but to me it was worth every penny. One caveat -don’t expect fewer crowds because of the early start. Although it did thin out in the galleries and I never had any trouble seeing anything. Again, brava Eugenia!
Donatella was amazing. It was an incredible experience because of her expertise and knowledge. She was the best!
Through Eternity was quick to respond to my questions and truly a great tour. Paulo is knowledgeable, friendly, and was very thorough.
Such a fantastic tour and completely worth doing the private tour. Our guide Roberta was exceptional! She allowed us to easily navigate through the busy crowds and her knowledge and expertise of the Sistine Chapel and the Vatican was incredible. She made the tour a fantastic learning experience and made the history come alive. Thank you so much for the once and lifetime experience Roberta!
We had an amazing experience in our Vatican museums tour, Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basilica with Siriki. He is wonderful! So knowledgeable and understanding of the needs of our group. He made the experience an unforgettable one for our family! We will return!
Tatiana was amazing! I loved her demeanor and she was nothing less than a walking encyclopedia! I also loved all the Biblical references alluded to during the tour
Brandon gave us the most extraordinary morning at the Vatican. He took us through so much history and culture with his passion, energy and expertise. It was wonderful. Highly, highly recommend.
This was our 4th trip to Rome but the first time we have used Through Eternity. Exceptionally pleased. Our guide was really excellent and we saw and learned things that we missed in the past. Highly recommend using their tour.
Our early morning private tour with Through Eternity Tours was one of the highlights of our time in Rome. My wife and I had the privilege of exploring the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica with our guide, Eugenia D’Andrea—and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. What stood out most wasn’t just the grandeur of the sites themselves, but the way Eugenia brought them to life. It’s easy for tours like this to become a blur of names, dates, and historical facts, but she avoided that entirely. Instead, she wove together stories and context that made everything feel vivid, human, and deeply engaging. She also took the time to understand what aspects interested us most, and tailored the experience in a way that felt personal rather than scripted. The 3.5 hours flew by—something we wouldn’t have thought possible given the depth and richness of what we were seeing. We walked away not only having seen some of the most iconic places in the world, but actually understanding and appreciating them on a much deeper level. We would highly recommend Eugenia to anyone considering a Vatican tour. If and when we return to Rome, we’ll absolutely be reaching out to her again to explore more of this incredible city.
Awesome Tour! Our guide was local and very knowledgeable, with an background in Art History. Going in the early morning worth it! Sunrise of the basilica and less crowds
Very knowledgeable guide. She highlighted and gave context to what we saw and would see. Early morning with this excellent guide was absolutely worth the investment! Low crowds and understand what you are experiencing
No other way to see the Chapel beside early in the morning! Beautiful time spent in outside garden area. This tour allowed for ample time to sit in the Chapel and admire the art. Plenty of history provided to explain what we would see since you are supposed to be quiet inside. Mary was an informative and excellent tour guide. In the crowds she maneuvered us for excellent viewing. Private group- of course was perfect. Would highly recommend Mary and this tour!
Georgia, our private tour guide was magnificent! Spoke very good English and explained historical concepts of our tour. I would highly recommend her for a private tour!
Gina was fun, knowledgeableand passionate about Rome. We enjoyed every moment. Would highly recommend!
What a wonderful morning, the time flew by. Our guide Cincia was an expert, kept us informed was friendly, knowledgeable and gave us time to look at everything. The highlight for me was St Peter’s Basilica, just breathtaking. I would highly recommend Through Eternity Tours, fantastically organised and great communication before hand.
Eugenia was exceptional! She was incredibly knowledgeable and answered all of our questions with ease. She also got to know us and tailored the experience to our interests. She was not only well versed in the facts and history of the area, but was also friendly, welcoming, and a joy to speak to.
Our experience was exceptional! Our guide, Ricardo, knew an amazing amount of information. He was able to answer every question we could possibly come up with!
Seeing the Vatican with a private guide was well worth the cost. Ricardo was extremely knowledgeable and flexible - spending time in areas we found most interesting, asking our questions, and moving at a pace we found comfortable. The Vatican can feel overwhelming and Ricardo drew our attention to treasures we would not have noticed or understood.
Our guide Enrica was so knowledgeable and passionate about our tour. She knew our interest and tailored the tour to meet our needs. Her personal experiences she shared made the tour more meaningful. She was extremely informed and had a lot of humor too. She made our experience at the Vatican one we won’t forget.
Gulia was a delight and a wealth of knowledge! We wouldn’t have had nearly a successful of a trip without her guidance and experience
Worth the extra money to skip the lines and see several extra sights. The ceilings, the floor, the history. Amazing.
We loved loved loved our tour of the Vatican museum and Sistine Chapel. Our guide, Frank, was so knowledgeable, fun, smart, friendly and accommodating. Visiting the Vatican had never been high on my "to do" list but our friends wanted to go. And I'm so glad we did. Going early in the day is definitely the way to go. And if you're lucky to have Frank as your guide, all the better. So worth every penny. Enjoy!
Our guide Paulo was really great. He gave us great tips and information about Vatican City and he kept us laughing! Even though the museum was absolutely packed due to high season, we still felt like we got to see everything and learned a lot along the way.
We had a fine tour of highlights of the Vatican museums and saw works like the Laocoon that I’ve long wanted to see. Our guide, Erika, was first-rate, an enthusiastic and very helpful font of information who went out of her way to accommodate my physical limitations. Despite the crowds, she found ways to let us see the Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s without problems. A terrific guide and an excellent experience!
Our tour guide was one of the most knowledgeable people I have ever met. He knew everything there was to know about the history of the artwork and Vatican. Thoroughly enjoyed this tour and would highly recommend!
I was happy with the tour & our tour guide Robert. Robert was very professional & knowledgeable. The museum was very crowded on a Saturday though, which took away some of the overall enjoyment.
THEY STOOD ME UP! One week before our visit, this vendor emailed to let me know that they had overbooked my tour and would not be able to accommodate my reservation, which had been booked and paid for over a month in advance. They returned my money but did not try to find an alternative tour that fit my schedule, were totally unresponsive via email or phone and just generally rude and indifferent to the disappointment they caused.
The crowds were crazy even at this hour and we had to move more quickly than we would have liked through some sections, but our guide Enrica was great, extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the Vatican museums. We’re glad we booked the guided tour rather than just getting a ticket.
Our private tour with Sricki was amazing! He was so engaging! Our group of 4 really benefited from his Knowledge and highly recommend him and this tour!
We book this tour on viator and received a notification they needed to cancel as was a mistake were able. Cancelled as requested and went back o. To re-book another. Receive a second acceptance (separate booking numbers) and thought we erected good to go. Just before the trip the cancelled without communication, just bam, cancelled. Good luck with the this one.
Four of us went on this tour and it was fabulous! Our guide was so knowledgeable and passionate about our tour. We enjoyed every minute! It was wonderful to be in the historic spaces before the crowds-it made such a difference!
The tour was recommended to us and Paolo was a brilliant guide. He has a wonderful inclusive style and imparted an incredible amount of information/knowledge in a wonderfully chatty style. We'd recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get an intimate understanding of the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel in particular.
Time in line was very limited. Met promptly at 7:45, moved to the line, waited 15 min for doors to open and after that, no lines. When we came out, there was a line at least 3 hours long …in the hot sun. It was crazy busy even at the very beginning of the day. Beautiful, I’m glad we had the opportunity to see it.
We were very pleased with this tour and glad we opted for the early morning option. The crowds are legendary but our guide was able to shepherd us through the galleries very well--navigating around other tour groups and providing minimal but enough time to appreciate the art, sculpture and general experience. Many, if not most of the participants on our tour were retired/older tourists, and we would recommend structuring the tour to better accommodate this demographic. The tour is a wonderful 3.5-4 hours of viewing world class art, however there were no opportunities to take a break or sit down. The tour ended in the Basilica where there were also no places to sit and truly appreciate the stunning interior of the church (and no cafe). It was a bit of a marathon. In our other museum tours in Florence and Rome, we were able to extend our enjoyment with a short break/coffee etc.
Great tour. It is great to go in the morning before it gets too busy. Our guide was very knowledgeable and helped us get tickets for the Papal audience the next day. Highly recommend!
It was a great tour. Marco our guide was very informative and a wonderful story teller. His knowledge about the Vatican and its arts was incredible. He made the tour very enjoyable and worthwhile
Our guide, Paula was terrific. Very knowledgeable with a sense of humor. She kept us moving through crowded rooms, making it more comfortable The Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica were outstanding. I was disappointed that the tour didn't start with the Sistine Chapel though because that's what drew me to this tour. The information given on-line said we would be the first one's in the Sistine Chapel. We didn't get to the chapel until halfway, or later, through the tour.
The small group tour of the Vatican, Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica was absolutely amazing and so worth it! We had friends that went on the larger tour and they passed us during our tour and I swear it looked like a heard of cattle. We started about 30 minutes earlier and ended 15 minutes after they did. When we were all at dinner together we were talking about our experience and everything we learned. It was obvious that those of us on the small group tour were exposed to much more information than my friends on the large tour. All I can say is that this particular tour was life changing for me and I wish everyone had the chance to experience it for themselves. Thank you to our wonderful guide, Cuzino! She was 5+ star!!
Did the Vatican,Sistine Chapel etc private tour with Ricardo. It was just my wife and I so the pace was more to our wishes. The tour made the Vatican complex much easier to manage while being informed about the history and art. We would recommend the tour and was worth the cost. It would be nice if on a private tour the company would arrange transfer to the meeting point however.
Our tour guide Rob was amazingly knowledgeable. He gave just the right amount of detail. He has a wonderful personality. He was so patient with our group. He made everything so interesting. Of course how can you find St Peter’s Basilica boring?!
Early morning so not so crowded, good information. We could sit snd enjoy the Sistine Chapel and easy access to St Peter’s!’
Valentina was a great guide at the Vatican, helping us navigate what would otherwise have been an overwhelming place. Instead, we were overwhelmed by the scale and beauty of the Vatican buildings, museums, the Sistine chapel, and Saint Peter's Basilica. She clearly had deep knowledge of the place and art, and a passion for sharing it. Grazie, Valentina!
We skipped all the lines and we were guided through the Vatican by an educated art historian (thank you Valentina!!). Such a great and unqique experience to leave Rome with.
Our guide Frank, met us at the designated area on time, we were very impressed at how organised he was giving us lots of very interesting information while waiting to enter the Vatican, once inside his level of knowledge was incredible I have been on tours of the Vatican before without a guide but Frank made it come alive a very memorable experience would certainly recommend it
We spent 5.5 hours with John and he was the most wonderful guide and made the trip better and more informative than we could ever have imagined. His knowledge is vast— Roman history, Greek history, theology, art history, archeology, architecture—and only exceeded by his patience, professionalism, and thoughtfulness. He made the experience one we’ll remember and treasure for a lifetime.
Early start with less tourists around was excellent way to start. Our Guide was very familiar and knowledgeable. Definitely worth the money.
On July 1, 2019, Cinzia Cutrone was our tour guide for an early morning Vatican and Sistine Chapel Tour. She was wonderful. Our group was fewer than 10 people, which made it a very personal and interesting experience. During our short wait to enter the Vatican, CInzia shared so much knowledge and information about Michelangelo and the Sistine Chapel so that by the time we got there, I really felt like I better understood what I was looking at. On our tour of the Vatican Museum, she was careful to stop at key points and highlights, knowing that there was no way to take it all in. I was so glad we booked a tour, rather than try to self guide through the museum, Sistine Chapel and St. Peters. It was 100% worth the investment.
