Private Day Trip Rome To Pompeii & Amalfi Coast Tickets Included

My rating is somewhere between 2 and 3 stars. The positives: the driver picked us up promptly and was polite. The Amalfi Coast was beautiful - very hectic and crowded but beautiful. Pompeii was very interesting but you need a guide. We used Rick Steves audio and it wasn’t sufficient. We stopped for a fresh lemon slushy that was amazing. The negatives: we had 8 in our party and were squeezed into a 9 person van (the driver made 9). Be prepared to sit in the van for almost 5 hours on the first leg of the trip, then you stop for lunch on the coast for 1.5 hrs, get back in the van and drive another hour to Pompeii. There was no narrative along the way as the driver spoke little English. We spent about 2.5 hours in Pompeii. Then we got back in the van for a long 3 hr drive back to Rome. The time in the van was uncomfortable and long. If you decide to do this trip, keep in mind that it’s a long time riding in a van with 3 people in each seat shoulder to shoulder. Two members of our party had to sit in the front seat of the van with the driver. This caused the person seated in that middle seat to sway legs and feet to side during the entire journey during to the “hump” on the floorboard. I’ve been on tours before that were top rated but the long ride smashed together took the pleasure out of this one. Would I do it again? Nope.

The absolutely best excursion we had a fantastic driver Ahmad I had my entire family included were a 3 year old and 4 year old we got to experience so much he would tell us everything about where we were it was a early start he made a stop for coffee etc and when we’re getting close to Positano he stopped got lemon cello for my entire family we choose longer in Positano so you can change what you like he made our day so delightful great tour

A perfect day. Odo was so fun and made the day stress free. We saw the Amalfi Coast, had lunch in Sorrento, and awed by Pompeii. The guide in Pompeii was really knowledgeable and brought Pompeii to life. Traffic was thick around Sorrento since it was a Saturday so maybe try to go on this tour on a weekday.

I would have liked to have a more detailed agenda so we knew what to expect- we had a driver that didn’t speak a ton of English. If he did then I think we would have known better what to expect and when. He was nice enough (though the name given vs the name he uses was different) and we did have a restroom stop after one hour and then again the last hour headed home. We didn’t realize we had an hour to go do shopping in Positano until he was dropping us off…lol all in all we loved the sights. We’re really thankful we didn’t do the drive ourselves. Car was clean and in good condition. He didn’t give any historical info (again suspects language barrier) we got it all from our Pompeii private tour we paid extra for

Ahmed was an outstanding driver and guide. He is engaging, polite and respectful. The day was long but we covered a great deal of Southern Italy and were able to spend a good amount of time in each area. The restaurant in Sorrento served excellent food with a comfortable ambiance. The Pompeii tour with Mafalda was excellent! The later time allowed us to see the area without large crowds. She was able to keep the interest of the kids (and us) with her outgoing personality. She was able to describe settings in Pompeii in a way that you could imagine how people lived in those times. Highly recommend it!

A good tour, the guide was obviously passionate about the subject and welcomed questions. Just FYI, you won’t see most of the site but will cover the most essential areas. It was hot so sunscreen, hats and water is recommended.

This was an amazing day! Ahmed was our driver and he was very informative about the locations we visited. He was very friendly and really took care of my family all day. We passed through Naples and Sorrento before stopping in Positano for lunch on the beach and some shopping then visited Pompeii in the afternoon. We opted for guided tour in Pompeii and it was very informative. I would highly recommend this trip and I hope you are lucky enough to get Ahmed as your driver.

This was an amazing tour. Our guide Fabio was very knowledgable about the area and very open to interacting with us. He is a careful driver in those narrow streets on the Amalfi Coast and we appreciated that.

We were a group of four friends, and this private day trip was one of the best parts of our Italy vacation. We learned a lot in Pompeii, then relaxed by the sea in Amalfi. Our driver even stopped at a small scenic point we didn’t know about, so beautiful!

Pompeii was fascinating, I still can’t believe how well it’s preserved. The Amalfi Coast was peaceful and full of color. We had a nice gelato in Positano and took amazing photos. The private car made the whole experience super comfortable.

We wanted to see more of Italy in one day, and this tour gave us just that. Pompeii was full of history and amazing ruins. After that, we went to Amalfi and had lunch by the sea. The driver was super kind and gave us time to stop for photos. So worth it!

Our driver picked us up right from our hotel in Rome in a clean, comfortable car. The first stop was Pompeii, walking through the old streets, and it felt like going back in time. Then we drove along the Amalfi Coast… the views were stunning! Everything was smooth and relaxed.

One word: WOW. 👀 Amalfi is absolutely stunning, and Pompeii is insanely cool. We learned stuff, took amazing photos, and still had time for limoncello and gelato. It was the perfect escape from the city.

Our driver was super friendly, the car was comfy, and we had the best guide ever in Pompeii. Then the Amalfi Coast? Unreal. We had pizza by the sea and even stopped for lemon gelato in Positano.

A long day, but perfectly organized and very relaxing. The guide in Pompeii was excellent, and the Amalfi Coast was even more beautiful than we imagined. We stopped for coffee and photos in Ravello ,such a peaceful town. Our driver was very professional and made the whole journey smooth.

Pompeii was absolutely fascinating ,walking through the ancient ruins with our guide made history come alive. Then we drove along the Amalfi Coast with stunning views all around. We stopped in Positano for lunch and photos. Long day, but 100% worth it!

I still can’t believe how much we saw in just one day. Pompeii was hauntingly beautiful, and lunch by the water in Amalfi was like a dream. If you want to escape the city for a bit and soak up history and coastal views, this tour is the way to do it.

I wasn’t sure if a day trip would be enough, but this one was so well organized that we felt we saw and experienced so much. From the tragic beauty of Pompeii to the sunny charm of Amalfi, it was a full day of unforgettable moments.

Mido was a great guide and the history at Pompeii was great and Poisatano was gorgeous. Mido pointed me to a great little family restaurant looking over the Mediterranean. Long, gut great day!!

Juri, our driver, was excellent! We could not have asked for more. He was prompt and professional and went out of his way to make sure we had the exact experience we wanted. He drove us in a luxurious van and attended to our every need. His skill in maneuvering the narrow streets in Meta and Sorrento was amazing as well! Could not recommend Juri any more highly!

What an amazing way to explore a magical place in Italy. The best part of this is that the driver met us at our hotel 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time, drove very safely (a challenge given lack of driver’s education in Rome), and was very accommodating to our family needs. The Driver picked out our lunch spot for us, which in itself was worth it! From start to finish, this was absolutely a fantastic trip

We just returned from our day trip and I could not wait to submit a review for this booking. Our driver was Mido and he was the epitome of professionalism all throughout the day trip. He drove carefully and was very helpful with providing us with an overview of what our day would be like. Pompeii, Sorrento and Positano were spectacular. Da Constantino (lunch) was delightful and the views were breathtaking. I highly recommend this tour and hope Mido is your assigned driver!

Modi was great! His driving was excellent thru the narrow coastal streets. Perfect balance of talk and quiet time. I’d have LOVED more coastal time so I might like to have booked one trip Or the other but we had no way to know and happy we did this. It was a big splurge for us (originally thought I booked motor coach but cancelled it somehow and am glad ) and worth it! Our private Pompeii guide, Roberta, was very knowledgeable and friendly. That was also worth it even though it was just a little under two hours and you could spend many more hours there. GREAT weather MADE this trip so much more enjoyable

This was a great trip!!! Our tour guide, Ahmed, was awesome! It was a very personalized tour, we had a nice drive down to Pompeii. They helped us with a private guide through Pompeii (also great). Lunch in Sorrento, and finally to the sea in Positano!!! Our tour guide was also very knowledgeable about the area and the history. The views were fantastic! Having a private vehicle was nice especially after numerous crowded tours.

Excellent trip. Our driver Modi was the best. He made the trip what it was. Really flexible as we didn’t stay in Pompeii for more than an hour. He then drove us to Positano and literally helped the wait staff ready a table by the window for us. And the food was the best we had our entire trip. He then drove us all the way down to a short walk to the beach. If you can request him, I would do so. One of the best guides I’ve had and a great friendly person. Great driver as the roads to Positano are something I wouldn’t want to drive. He drove them like a pro.

To walk the rocky streets of the original Pompei, to look and imagine how the houses and shops were and to hear the history as you viewed the actual ruins and to see an actual preserved person from those times was unforgettable. And on the same day, ride to Positano and see the beautiful views of the mountains, the sea and the colorful city on the hillside was outstanding and will not be forgotten. It was a fantastic day.

This IS the oNLY way to see Pompeii and Amalfi. Our guide was Mido who was incredibly helpful with our private tour and getting us to the beach in Positano. Top driver/guide and a very cool and comfortable ride!!

Excellent place to see the old civilization structure, it is bit hot but worth seeing the place. If you are going private tour make sure to confirm car size, the one I had is small Benz no leg room for 4+ hour trip.

Enjoyed every minute of this trip with my family. Mido was an awesome driver a d showed us everything and more. It was a great experience and would recommend this to anyone going to Rome and want a day trip.

I paid for a private tour and had to share the vehicle with a family of five. The lunch schedule was rearranged due to the restaurant being closed, I guess with all of the delays we didn't get any additional time to shop after the Pompeii tour, that was disappointing.

Our driver, Matteo, was excellent and very attentive to our needs. He brought us to the most amazing lunch spot with the most stunning view. Thank you, Matteo!

A private tour became a shared tour no discount. The driver took us to a restaurant which required very difficult walking despite it being clear I had issues. In all whike sone of the drive was glorious the overall result was disappointing.

Guide Medo was full of stories and was helpful in informing us what to expect. Stopped to get us some coffee which helped! Very skilled driver amid a heavy traffic day. Pompei was great! Ine of the highlights of our trip to Rome Getting out of the big city and seeing countryside.

Pompeii was incredible and it was our last stop.so a little less crowded. Very kind driver/tourguide would recommend it, and amazing food and viewing spots. The regular restaurant they take you to was booked so we ended up at La Tagliata and the food was amazing. Fixed meal and $$$$ so just be aware, cash only. It was 200 euro for 4 of us but the best food in Italy we had by far. Wine was included. includes a bathroom stop.

Our driver really cared about us having a good and safe experience. Did a lot of little things like buy us lemon ice and water without us asking. Good driver too.

Mido our driver was great. Prompt, helpful, friendly, attentive, extra careful. We would hire him again. A ten!

We had an awesome day 🥰 from the time our driver/tour guide MIDO picked us up at our hotel in Rome @7:30am and then dropped us off at 8:30pm he was so accommodating he knew his way around from Sorrento (Amalfi Coast) to Positano to Pompei where we was greeted by another tour guide to show us around Pompei it was a perfect day just a little pricy maybe it should have included lunch but even so we were absolutely pleased and happy with the entire day!

Rami (driver) was wonderful, as was Luara (the tour guide) at Pompei. Rainy day made sight seeing on the coast less ideal, but the trip was fantastic anyway. Pompei is amazing and highly recommend to anyone visiting this part of Italy.
