The Guide Mario was very nice and told us a lot of things about the towns and regions. The ride wos smooth thanks to the driver Peppino. We saw a lot of interesting things at the 1,5 hours of Pompei Ruins tour with Enzo. They took us 1000m to Vesuv after we hiked up to the Crater with Roberto. It was a beautiful view around the top.
The drive to Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius were good. It was nice to get a break half way to go to the washroom and get a snack…very handy when travelling with teens. The guide up Mount Vesuvius, Angelo, was fantastic. He paced things well and answered all of our questions enthusiastically. I would highly recommend him as a guide. I, unfortunately, cannot say the same for our guide at Pompeii and for our experience at Pompeii. The tour started out well and the guide, Enzo, was explaining things well. However, part way through, he got into at heated discussion with another tour guide. From what I can gather, this other tour group skipped ahead of a line and our guide didn’t like it. They were speaking Italian so I didn’t understand fully, but I didn’t think it needed to be as heated as it sounded. Then, the end of our tour was cut short without any explanation from the guide. The only thing I heard was Enzo angrily asking who threw a rock in one of the buildings. Neither my kids or myself has heard or seen anything. Our entire group got punished for one person’s actions and they didn’t even know who did it. Was it even someone in our group? It seemed that as soon as Enzo didn’t get an answer about who threw the rock, he went off in a huff without any explanation. He stopped interacting with the group and we were lead out. I don’t know if the staff threw our group out to or if Enzo decided himself that we couldn’t be there anymore. In my opinion, this should have been explained to the group. If it was beyond his control and the Pompeii staff kicked our group out, he should have explained this and apologized to the rest of the group who had nothing to do with the rock incident. He could have said something to the effect of: I’m sorry the staff has now informed me that we need to leave due to the actions taken by the person who threw the rock and our entire group has been asked to leave. I do apologize to the rest of you, but this is beyond my control. Instead he just marched out and got on his phone and spoke to someone in Italian. He didn’t even say anything to the group again, he just walked off. He seemed to forget that there were 15 other paying customers that had nothing to do with the incident; he treated us all as if we were guilty. I felt this was very unprofessional and not a good example to my teens. I would not recommend him as a guide again. He is the reason why I’m not giving this experience a 5/5.
My 9 year old daughter and I enjoyed the tour very much. We had a great time. The tour guides at Pompeii and Mt Vesuvius were awesome and very informative. They were also very easy on they eye ;) I’d recommend this tour to anyone.
Paula was an amazing guide that provided us with so much information and tips during the drive to/from Rome. The visit to Pompei was The visit to Pompeii was fantastic with our guide, Sasa. He provided so much knowledge with humor. Lunch was excellent and the perfect amount of time. The hike up Vesuvius is strenuous in the heat of summer, but the views are breathtaking. Our guide Diego was also excellent! Overall, I highly recommend this tour!
We had a great time today with Paula and the other guides. Pickup went smoothly, we stopped halfway on the 3 hour drive for bathroom breaks and a snack (if you choose). Paula pointed out places of interest and shared stories with us. She was very friendly and engaging. Sasha was great guide at Pompeii. He had a dry sense of humor that came out as the tour continued. Lunch was excellent and a lot of food. Diego was a super guide at Vesuvius. He was very informative and friendly. The hike was challenging but manageable in the heat. The view from the top is incredible.

This was the highlight of our trip! Pompeii and Mt. Vesuvius was more than we could have hoped for: grueling hike in the heat wave with our expert guide ended with the most spectacular view at the top! Archaeologist tour guide at Pompeii ruins was engaging and full of fun stories about the buried city. Would definitely recommend during cooler months and should wear sturdy hiking shoes and water bottle. The bus picked us up in Rome at an easily identifiable restaurant where we met our wonderful guide. This was worth the money and time!!
Our trip was very nice, the tour guides were very knowledgeable about each location, dropping interesting and random facts along the way. It was worth it for the money, and lunch was very nice.

We traveled with my 8year old and I must say, even in the heat wave, we had the best time!! Location was super easy to find, guides were fantastic and friendly. Sasha was wonderful as he pointed out historical landmarks and cities along the way. Headsets worked great as well when we got separated by all the tourists. Easy to spot our guide: always with the red flag when we got distracted. The crater walk to Mt. Vesuvius was not for the faint of heart, but absolutely 💯 worth it! What a knowledgeable group of guides at all points. We appreciate the timed breaks on the van ride there and back as well as stopping points along the way as you tackle the crater hike. Would highly recommend for families of kids around 8 or older as you wouldn’t want to have to carry your toddler up the mountain.
This day trip is really great if you like history, nature or having a mini adventure. Just make sure to wear comfortable shoes.

If you can, book all your activities and excursions with The Tour Guy!!. Not only are the tour guides incredibly knowledgeable, they are kind, witty and fun to be around. They make you feel welcomed and are often accommodating which is appreciated for all the running around I had to do in Rome. One thing I suggest is to always arrive at your meeting point 10-30 minutes ahead of time. They are on a schedule mostly because of the strict entrance times of your admission at the places you tour.
I learn the history of Pompeii and knowledge of volcano from the tour guides Juliano and Diego. The driver Alfredo was caring, he helps us to alight from the bus safely. The weather was good. I enjoyed the scenery up the Mt. Vesuvius.
Wonderful experience with Juliano, Alfredo and Diego learning about the history of Pompeii and also learnt a lot about Mt Vesuvius. Beautiful scenery from the top which was definitely worth the climb.
I loved this tour. The guides were really knowledgeable and affable and I really learned an amazing amount regarding Pompeii and how it all happened. The tour was spaced out with food and rest stops so it was comfortable. All in all I would definitely recommend this tour.

Excellent and very active full day trip. Everything was arranged and went according to plan. It was an all day and very active climb up Vesuvius. Lunch was included and was an excellent restaurant meal.
Really amazing experience, we were buzzing afterwards. Guides were so informative! We enjoyed all of it but Vesuvius was the best part! We didn’t know this but you can book direct with ‘the tour guy’. Only part of the tour I would suggest adding/changing is to add time to look round the gift store at Pompeii.

It was a long bus ride but the two tours were very good. They were just strenuous enough to require a nap on the way back. And Lorenzo was so kind and informative, a great tour guide!
Experience was great. The tour guide Lorenzo was friendly and well knowledgeable. Very busy tour so lunch was delayed no fault of the tour company. It would be helpful to mention if your tour includes a stop at a gift shop though as that is important to some at mount versuvius. Although hiking up there are three stops for gift shopping

It is a scam agency indeed!!! Avoid it! I’ve booked the trip to Pompeii and Vesuvius long time prior to my trip. Andi chose this tour in particular because it included the Vesuvius hike. A few days prior the trip I got an email saying it’s cancelled and they can switch me to the other one (Pompeii Amalfi) or to change the date (there was no even an option to take the money back!). I agreed to switch the tour to the one without Vesuvius to not to lose the money, and then they were ignoring my numerous emails asking for the update!!! Then finally they replied after a few days. In the day of the trip I was getting for exactly 5 mins left because obviously I’m new to the city and it could happen to anyone. But on the spot I got to know from the guide of another group that my group has left already, without me and 7 more people, imagine! So these scammers took more than 1k dollars in total for 8 people and left without half of the group!!! And in the voucher there was no even guide’s number to contact him! So I just lost a lot of time at first, didn’t get the tour I wanted, got to know about it just a few days prior the trip, didn’t get the option to get the money back, didn’t have any update on the situation for 3 days, and then I lost a lot of money and didn’t go anywhere for being 5 mins late without even a possibility to contact the guide! And they abandoned 7 more people like that just from my group! I’m shocked, it’s the worst experience ever during all my travels! I wouldn’t advise it to anyone!!!

We had an amazing day! They picked us up at a metro station in Rome and drove us to our destination. The van was comfortable and Tony was a great driver. Lorenzo was an amazing guide. He shared lots of tips and pointed out many things along the long trip to Pompei. We were guided there by Sasha, who made us all laugh and gave our tour a really great upbeat vibe. Diego was a great guide at Vesuvius and we really learned a lot. Lunch was good, with a great view. Thanks, guys!!
This was a fun day trip from Rome. Sasha is the best tour guide through Pompeii! Hilarious and probably the best guide we had in Italy. The bus ride was clean and our driver Tony expertly and safely drove up and down Mt Vesuvius. Hiking it is not for the weak though. Wish we could have had time to take some pictures and purchase a postcard before rushing back down with the local guide. Overall though satisfied with the tour, the guides, and the experiences.
Trip was very fun and informative. Make sure to dress for hike because it is a somewhat tough hike up. Our Guides Lorenzo, Diego and Sasha were great
