Lucio, my tour guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and courteous. I got an excellent overview of many highlights and intriguing stories
Lucio spoke clearly and had very good English. He kept the group together, good walking tempo and we did see a lot. He had a lot of knowledge, but this came out in private conversations where we asked questions, rather than as part of the tour. We could walk 200m without any talking, yet there was probably lots of anecdotes or pointing out of funny or interesting things, like the unusual door knockers, which could have been discussed. A little more passion, history of Rome and stories would have been nice.
The walking tour was excellent. Luco was an excellent guide with a comprehensive knowledge of Roman history, architecture and culture. I learned a great deal and had a better appreciation of the city of Rome and its history after it ended.
Excellent tour , we were only 4 and the guide Lucio was absolutely fantastic . Suggested a great typical Italian restaurant near the Pantheon
fantastic guide he was very knowledgeable and friendly.
Loved the variety of the tour and our guide was incredibly informative on the history of each stop we made. He was also considerate about looking for shady cool spots too stop and talk about facts.
Lucio was excellent! Highly recommend
On a day trip to Rome and wanted something other than the normal crowded, tourist hotspots . Saw parts of Rome we hadn’t explored before and learned so much about the history. Thanks for a really enjoyable few hours 😊
Meeting place was well communicated. Lucio our guide was absolutely fantastic. His English was so good and he did a great job of telling us lots about the city . We learned so much. There were lots of hidden treasures we had no idea about. Love the History here. Walking was at great pace. It’s a tip based tour and we found it very fair.
We had a guided tour with Lucio who was absolutely fantastic. Really informative and interesting and a really nice guide. We did the tour on our first day so it gave us a really good sense of the city, where everything was and of course, its history. He left out some of the obvious tourist sites (Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain) as they are easy to find and see on your own (Just follow the crowds!), instead concentrating on the rest, which was great. A really super start to our trip!
Lucio was very kind and knowledgeable. We highly recommend him!
We had a great tour with Lucio! Lucio was knowledgeable and personable and we loved spending time with him on this tour. He had so much historical information and balanced that with interesting and captivating facts! His timing was great allowing us to be efficient and get to a lot, while also allowing us to take in the beautiful sites in Rome. We really enjoyed this tour and absolutely recommend! Our family came back in the afternoon for the evening tour as well and enjoyed getting to do both in one day!
Lucio is a very knowledgable and interesting guide. He engages his audience well, encourages them to ask questions, and is enthusiastic and funny. With a background in architecture, he is an expert on the many buildings and statues of Rome. I also appreciated the way he would find shade when we stopped to talk and he also built in a comfort break about half way through.
Luccio was fantastic and the tour was great! Guide always found the shade and we learned a lot of Roman history and saw many of the "out of the way" sites you don't normally see on the basic tours. Highly recommend!
Lucio was absolutely fabulous! He walked at a great pace, always found the shade and gave us a lot of great history we didn’t pick up on any other tours! Highly recommend!
Excellent tour, Lucio was so knowledgeable, friendly and am excellent guide. He made the tour interesting and fun. Highly recommended
We were looking for a mellow walking tour through Rome and found this tour. It was just what we needed. Not the crowded hot loud monument tour. Something a little different but every bit as interesting.
Lucio was very knowledgeable, it was a perfectly paced personalized tour. Great details of historic places on our walk.
Great tour, very informative. Our guide was great and we turned out to be the only 2 on the tour that day. Great use of time and frames things to pick out what to do more in depth later.
This walking tour was so enjoyable! My 2 teenage children and I went, and there were only 2 other attendees, so it was a very small group, which was fantastic.
Fantastic tour and wonderful guide Lucio. He was informative and entertaining. Highly recommend this tour
We recently took a guided tour in Rome and it was absolutely the highlight of our trip! Our guide took us to see remarkable old historical sites and shared fascinating details that we otherwise wouldn't have known or noticed. We were extremely satisfied with the guidance; the guide was friendly, helpful, and very talkative. What we appreciated most was how he dedicated his time to our two children, making the whole experience enjoyable for the entire family. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to truly see the old historical landmarks of Rome.
Lucio did an excellent job leading our tour. He covered all the sights, while keeping us together and on time. We learnt about the history of these places, and also about Italian culture too. We also appreciated the gelato/washroom break midway through the tour.
Our guide Nick was very knowledgeable and friendly. He managed to articulate clearly a summary of Roman history with lots of enthusiasm and responded in detail to all questions asked. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone visiting Rome as a great start point to your break.
We enjoyed our tour with Lucho. He was very easygoing, friendly, and informative during our walking tour. He was also cognizant and accommodating of some in our group who had to walk a little slower. In addition to the highlights of our tour, we stopped for gelato at a well-known Gelateria for a break and to use the restrooms. It was a great way to start our week in Rome.
Lucio was good, knowledgeable guide who provided good information and addressed all my questions. Pace of tour was comfortable; Never felt rushed. Walk route was safe and fun. Apart from site, guide proved good tips about food, tour options and shopping.
I would totally recommend this tour! I went there with my partner, it was our first day in Rome and I'm really happy that we had this positive experience! The tour was well structured, we visited many important places from baroque part of the Rome. Story that was told I liked a lot! Length of the visit was around 2,5 h with a break for a coffee in a very nice cafe. Atmosphere was nice and relaxed. We were only 2 persons in a group and there were not so many people on the streets at that day. The admission fee was 3,5€ per person at booking, but the tour was tip-based, which was fine for us. The staff was friendly, we had a nice conversation, talked about different topics related to Rome and Italy. The one important thing is that you need to walk a lot during the tour, it was cool for us, but maybe some other people should be ready.
Lucio was one of the best walking tour guides that we've toured with. His tour was the perfect way to start our trip to Rome. He took us to a few hidden spots on the walking tour that we would have never gone to without a walking tour. Gave one some of the best restaurant recommendations that met our dietary needs and had absolutely phenomenal recommendations. He was very patient, answered all our questions, and felt very personable. The tour didn't feel rushed or tiring at all, and we didn't realise how quickly the 2h30m went by. Highly highly recommend this tour!
Luco was very informative and relaxed with us. He answered all the questions asked of him and gave lots of good recommendations. He suggested a bar to visit and we actually went there later in the evening for a nightcap and it was gorgeous. A very chilled and relaxing tour - you don’t even notice how far you have walked by the end of it. Excellent communicator
Lucio was a great and knowledgeable guide. Very kind and patient as well. We were able see and learn about monuments we otherwise would have missed. Would highly recommend!
We had a great time on the free walking tour with Nick. Nick was really enthusiastic and knowledgable and we all really enjoyed it!
We’ve been on a lot of this type of tour and this was up there with the very best we’ve been on. Nick provided a first class tour he is very knowledgeable about Rome and it’s history and provided an entertaining commentary as well as great tips on restaurants and travel around the city.
We went on the Piazza del Popolo and Historic Sights walking tour with Nick. He was exceptionally knowledgeable and conveyed all the information in an interesting and enthusiastic manner. He was also able to give us additional information, such as where best to eat. We would thoroughly recommend this tour and Nick in particular. The fact that we were a small group made it even more enjoyable.
A Guided Walk Through Rome That Brought History to Life Exploring Rome on foot is always special, but this guided walking tour elevated the entire experience to something unforgettable. From the moment we met our guide in the lively piazza del popolo it was clear we were in expert hands. Friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the city, Nick managed to turn every street corner into a story waiting to be told. The tour struck the perfect balance between iconic landmarks and hidden gems. Of course, we visited some of the must-see sights, but what truly made the tour stand out were the details you would never notice on your own. Our guide explained the surprising history behind seemingly ordinary fountains, and shared fascinating anecdotes about emperors, artists, and everyday Romans. Walking through the winding streets felt like stepping through layers of time. One moment we were standing beside ancient ruins from the Roman Empire, and a few minutes later we were in a quiet cobbled alley with Renaissance palaces and a tiny café that had been serving locals for generations. The guide’s storytelling made it easy to imagine what life in Rome might have been like thousands of years ago. The pace of the tour was ideal—relaxed enough to take in the surroundings, but with plenty to see and learn along the way. There were also thoughtful pauses for photos, questions, and even recommendations for the best gelato nearby. By the end of the walk, we didn’t just feel like we had seen Rome—we felt like we understood it. The tour offered context, personality, and a sense of connection to the city that guidebooks simply can’t provide. If you want more than just ticking landmarks off a list, a guided walking tour like this is absolutely the way to experience Rome. It’s informative, engaging, and a wonderful way to discover the stories that make the Eternal City so extraordinary.
Excellent tour, with a guide who was most knowledgeable (classics masters graduate) and so enthusiastic that he made the whole experience an absolute pleasure, it went so quick to 2.5 hrs could of happily continued for another 2.5hrs.
Having done a few “free” walking tours in various cities around Europe I have to say this one is one of the best I have been on Nick’s delightful delivery and enthusiasm about Roman History kept everyone’s attention at all times Well done sir 👍🏼 and well worth the value
This tour was amazing! Lucio was very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. He took us all around Rome, both to widely known places, and cool new hidden gems. The timing was perfect as we got to explore and learn about a variety of areas in a short amount of time. The rest of our stay in Rome was enriched by this new perspective that Lucio shared. Would highly recommend this tour (and Lucio!). Absolutely fantastic experience.
Lucio was a fantastic guide. Had no issues answering all our questions and provided us great insight into Rome. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Had a very good time, my guide was called Lucio, he was a great and enthusiastic guide. I really enjoyed my time there and getting to kno
Great tour round Rome's streets with informative guide, Lucio. Good walking pace with stop off for ice cream & plenty of opportunities to ask questions
Wonderfully conducted tour giving you just the right amount of history and narrative for the sights you see around Rome
Excellent tour by Lucio who spoke perfect English. He took us to places you wouldn’t normally see by yourself. Very interesting and informative.
This was a wonderful walking tour and a great way to see and learn about Romes history. Lucio is very knowledgeable and passionate making this an unforgettable experience and one you shouldn’t miss. I highly recommend this tour and Lucio.
Our tour guide (Justin) was exceptional. He knew his stuff, we learned a lot & he answered all our questions with ease. We would definitely do another tour with him!
Top-tier experience! This didn't feel like a free tour—it felt like a premium service. Our guide was brilliant, exceptionally friendly, and had a real talent for 'connecting the dots' of Roman history in an engaging way. Even though it was pouring rain, he never lost his energy or commitment to the group. It is rare to find this level of professionalism and knowledge. If you're in Rome, do not miss this!
nick was extremely informative in the tour! we also had a gelato stop which was really good and affordable he also recommended a list where we can eat
I had a great time exploring the historical sites of Rome with Nick. It ended up just being a personal tour but I still thoroughly enjoyed. I was particularly impressed with Nick’s historical knowledge and how he made it relevant to the present day. What also impressed me was he was very accepting of questions and had a great way of responding to them and making everything relatable. If you’re into your history or just curious to know more this is definitely the tour to go on!
Jobe imparted a lot of information on our tour. He was a mine of information and was entertaining and humorous. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour.
We were delighted as a family with our historical sights walking tour of Rome. Our guide was eloquent and informative in giving us a great insight in to the foundation of Rome and it's history, right up to the modern era. We learned so much that would could never have hoped to learn by visiting the sights of Rome by ourselves. This historical guided tour is a must-do if you want to appreciate Rome to it's fullest extent.
