The Pantheon tour was transformative. Our tour guide, Donatella, took us to another time and place. She guided us through every corner and engaged us with the stories and history with such clarity that my teen sons didn’t even blink. They couldn’t take their eyes off the paintings, carvings, and monuments while listening closely to the narration. If you take this tour, ask for Donatella.

Itinerary
The Myth of how Rome came to be is intrinsically linked to this unique building. From the sacred Temple and fields of Mars, originally outside the city walls of Rome to the founder of Romulus. The later Augustan structure still stands today in a perfect state, two thousand years later, thanks to the Church that it has become - inside the world of Basilicas converge - pagan and Christian. The tombs of King and Queen and the formidable ashes of Rafaelo lay here for eternity.
The exterior of the Pantheon, its columns, circular temple formation, layers of history explained (the monument allows us to see the past thus helping us visualize what is to come in the future. The dome with it's surprising and unique oculus (open to the sky) - the spot were Romulus was struck by lightning (it is said).

We took a wonderful tour of the Pantheon with Donatella. She had many stories and explanations of the Pantheon and Rome at the time. Highly recommend her tour.
The passion, knowledge and sense of humor that Sylvio brought to this tour made it so special for us. Every moment from beginning to end was outstanding.
Access is not enough! Everyone can get into the Pantheon but not knowing what your looking at is the key. Even if you are a religious historian the guide had a wealth of information about the building itself, life and times of the different people that have been involved with the Pantheon throughout time. Well worth the fee for the guide.
It was nice getting to learn more about the Pantheon, especially from someone who used to work there and had the inside scoop! It was very crowded and noisy inside the day we went, so it was difficult to hear the guide at times. The building itself is gorgeous, with so much history to go through.
Our guide was knowledgable, pleasant, and was very interactive with those on the tour. I highly recommend V.
Our guide was wonderful and friendly and new many things to share with us
This was a very informative tour with Elena as our guide. Our guide provided many facts about the building and the history of those represented in the Pantheons past.
Easy to locate starting point. Our guide passed her knowledge on to us with words and photos. Small group of four and we were not rushed from one area to another. Questions were welcome and promptly answered. .
The best part about this tour is that we got to skip the very long line of people waiting to enter the Parthenon. The guide was OK. She repeated herself a lot and seemed to be just reciting things she had been told. There was no passion for the subject, no stories, and no desire to connect with the seven of us in the group. Not memorable or remarkable.
Our guide was very passionate and knowledgeable about the time period and how the Pantheon was constructed. It’s pretty amazing to walk through the doors and into the domed area. An hour goes by fast and most of our group stayed to walk around a bit more.
Silvio was great. He was very knowledgeable. We learned a lot.
Fantastic experience. Wouldn’t have really appreciated the Pantheon without it. Mary Lou was a wonderful guide! Meet up before the tour went smoothly. No complaints at all.
The Pantheon is a must see in Rome. Our tour guide Elena was very knowledgeable and able to provide a great overview of history surrounding the Pantheon. Such an amazing and beautiful building.
Guide and pantheon were both awesome. Quick and easy tour to see one of Rome’s coolest landmarks. Able to get in easily
We loved our guide Elena and the tour. She was very professional, knowledgeable and kind! It was only one hour so we felt we got a lot in a short period.
Worth buying the guided tour ticket just to be able to skip the line to get in. Once you're in the door it's just one big circle room so you stand there with the guide as they talk for 40 minutes. Little disappointing though it's supposed to be a old Roman Temple to Old mythological Gods instead it has been turned into a church by the Catholic Church all the old statues of the old gods have been removed and replaced with Christian ones
Francesca was amazing and extremely knowledgeable! 100% recommend. Very well rounded your of the Pantheon and its history.
Definitely was worth doing tour. Guide was super knowledgeable and engaging and told us about the architecture history as well as all the art inside. Interesting.
The tour was a bit too in-depth for us, plus we couldn't understand the guide's English very well. We found it a bit tedious
An engineering marvel over 2000 years old! This once pagan temple was the political center at one time. Our guide made this period come alive for me.
Tour guide was knowledgeable but he said he was an ecologist. So we mostly learned about architecture in Rome and not so much on the Pantheon. I would have preferred he walk around the Pantheon inside to discuss what’s in there
Our tour guide was wonderful. Very knowledgeable and took his time explaining everything and answering questions. Would highly recommend. Very crowded due to it being 1st Sunday of the month and apparently free, so lines very long.
This tour gives you the history of the Pantheon both structure and function. Silvio is a fabulous guide and is knowledgeable in both areas. He is very passionate about the subject and kept the groups attention with information and anecdotes throughout the tour. Excellent tour and guide!
Very well done. Our guide spoke clearly and was very knowledgeable. Liked that the group was very small.
It’s way too busy, the communication via the ear piece isn’t great, you get no time to linger to look at the art, it’s all too rushed!
Tour was an efficient way to see the Pantheon was great, guide was adequate. She was informative but not great. We were to meet at 9:15, she arrived a bit late & explained everyone in Rome is late (not sure that’s true for a timed tour)
If you get Amanda as your tour guide, cancel!! She was horrible. She had a foul mouth in front of our kids. She is British and told us how she hates Rome and the Italian women don’t like foreigners because they are threatened that we will still their men. Which I found shocking to hear. Then she would stop and point out how American kids have melt downs and Americans needs to relax. She said she’s an angry 50 year old woman who is bitchy. And said for me to NOT cover my shoulders. She said we shouldn’t listen to the rules because it’s not a real church. SHE WAS SO RUDE and ANGRY! I have LOVED all my guides with Viator and they were Italian. This British woman Amanda should be fired. She talked horribly about Italy and the people she works for!! We paid 220.00 for no info except her perspective which was anti Italian and anti Catholic!
My wife and I were the only ones on the tour. Our guide Annalisa was full of historical and architectural knowledge! Perfect for this tour. The Pantheon is an engineering marvel and Annalisa explained it clearly and with details we would not have learned without her as a guide. We were taken thru a separate entry with no waiting. We recommend this tour.
Absolutely a must-do experience! Our guide was exceptional, and the Pantheon deserves to be a wonder of the world. We were captivated from start to finish. Highly recommended!
The English speaking guide needs to improve her knowledge of English Saying incredible 27 times shows that the vocabulary needs improvement. The Audio was poor . The explanation’s uninteresting.
I have always wanted to see inside the Pantheon, but the experience was underwhelming.. It may have been the tune we went, as it was later in the afternoon, but the Pantheon was packed with as many people could possibly fit inside, so we could hardly move. Music was blaring as well, so the whole experience of being in the fabled Pantheon was ruined. The tour guide was great and tried to give us the history of the building, but it did not miss up for the overall bad experience. I would not recommend anyone waste their time or money visiting here, especially as there is so much more to do in Rome.
This was a wonderfully informative tour! Sylvia did a great job at explaining the history and answering any questions we had.
With these many people around the area it may be a little hard to located the guide. I used google map it help a lot.
Fascinating historical building - a must see in Rome.
My wife and I really enjoyed Mary Lou’s knowledgeable and interesting tour of the Pantheon. Mary Lou’s talk made Ancient Rome and the later days when the Church took over the site, and after the Kingdom of Italy was created, come alive. She was engaging and developed a rapport with our small group. Her knowledge of the paintings and burial sites was impressive.
Difficult to understand her English. Lingered inside too long and would have preferred seeing and hearing more about the backside and exterior of the building.
Our tour guide shared the history while allowing us time for photos and time to rest in seats. We did a photo from the floor to the oculus. We learned about the sun light through oculus to the walls and entry door. It was perfezione.
The guide was wonderful. Very knowledgeable. I wish she had had a flag like other guides. It was not easy to spot her on the huge crowded plaza. We were given a store to be in front of. That was all.
My wife and I could not understand our guide. It was very frustrating. In addition the tour lasted 40 minutes and not 60. To be fair I would like my money back
Great tour and Marylou was a brilliant tour guide! A+. I would recommend it to others! Thank you for the experience!
Great tour! Our guide was very knowledgeable and did a wonderful job! Highly recommend this tour!
Guide was fantastic—very knowledgeable and nice. Know that you may be randomly asked for id upon entry. Shoulders should be covered (although I couldn’t tell if this is 100% enforced).
Annalisa was a great guide! She knew so much about the Pantheon. She was easy to follow along with and was very friendly. We loved the tour and the Pantheon! I’ve been before without a guide, and I enjoyed going with someone who could share more with us.
Mary Lou is an incredible guide and is VERY knowledgeable. Absolutely loved all the information! Highly recommend!
Annalisa brings history to life with an incredible depth of knowledge, perfectly bridging ancient Roman engineering with fascinating historical context. A must-do experience if you want to truly understand the architecture and story behind one of Rome's greatest icons.
It was easy to find the meeting place. The tour was informative, and the guide was not hard to understand and knowledgeable. It was crowded, as all tourist sites in Rome. It was a good size group, not too big.
Annalisa was amazing . Truly a pleasure . She was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions . It was a special tour and would recommend .
Was very interesting, but not well organized. Met infront of a store. Waited for late people to arrive. The line was HUGE cause it was closed the day before. Could have easily had someone start waiting in line, so the tour ran about 20-30 min. later than it should have. I would have missed another tour ai had scheduled cause of them, but luckily my other tour rescheduled.
Our Tour guide got us right thru the lines took us all over and filled us in on all kinds of great info on the site.
