Itinerary
From the heights considered one of the best viewpoints in the city, you get to see a stadium older than the Colosseum - The Theatre of Marcellus, the Mayor’s office, the Roman Forum, & Mamertine prison where St.Paul was imprisoned.
Curia of Pompey - Caesar's assassination site. You come down the hill and the guide introduces you to the Forum of Julius Caesar, The Market & Column of Trajan.
The jewel on the crown is the Baroque Trevi Fountain. Whip out your cameras, switch on your smiles and as tradition demands flick your coin into the fountain and make your wishes come true.
Hadrian's Temple - The Temple of Hadrian is a temple to the deified Hadrian on the Campus Martius in Rome, Italy, built by his adoptive son and successor Antoninus Pius in 145 and now incorporated into a later building in the Piazza di Pietra.
The Basilica di Sant'Agnese Fuori le Mura (Basilica of St. Agnes Outside the Walls) is a 7th century church in Rome. It is notable for its mosaics, shrine of the virgin martyr St. Agnes, and catacombs.
The walk down the road brings you to the 2000 years temple called Pantheon. A temple with a free standing concrete dome & no support system. The dome is a masterpiece studied & admired for centuries.
Settled between the great Pantheon and Piazza Navona, this is the French church in Rome. It is renowned for having three very famous paintings from Caravaggio: The Calling of Saint Matthew, The Inspiration of Saint Matthew, and the Martyrdom of Saint Matthew. The outside is adorned with sculptures and scenes telling the history of France and it’s saints and martyrs.
This famous and beautiful piazza in Rome contains the fountain of the four rivers and is an excellent example of Roman baroque architecture.
The Capitoline Hill, though the smallest of Rome's seven hills, holds great significance. It housed the Temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus, the most important sanctuary in ancient Rome.

Knowledgeable and friendly tour guide, learned a lot and had fun
So much information and a very fun experience
Best tour and tour guide in all of Rome!
Such a great tour! My friends and I had a few hours to catch a tour and this one caught our eye. Would recommend as it’s great for time, convenience, and educational! Our guide was Rahul and he answered all the questions we have plus accommodated to us taking pictures or getting a coffee.
Marcello was a wonderful tour guide, he adapted well to our needs (we had a family member in a wheelchair) and was informative and fun. 5 out of 5 stars!
Eugene was a great guide! He was knowledgeable and informative. We had a great time from start to finish learning of the Pantheon and other sites in Rome. Highly recommend!
We walked from the Piazza Novella to the Roman Forum, spending time noticing all the details in between : the age of buildings and monuments, the stories behind the artists who created them, the families that funded them, and the context of the city that surrounds them. Roberta was an engaging guide and an expert in historic architecture. There was no question she couldn't answer. Highly recommended!
Guide was amazing, he was very flexible and informative. Highly recommend!
Fantastic day with Marcello. Everything was very easy from organizing the tour to meet up. We have 3 kids and he was great with all their questions. We walked from the pantheon to the coliseum with several stops along the way. He was really able to make the day what we wanted and customized it based on what we had already done prior to the tour. He was very knowledgeable and husband and kids loved him.
A great trip around a few of the hilights of Rome. Eugene, our guide for the day was beyond knowledgeable rolling off fascinating facts about not just the main sites but on every side street and building we passed.
Eugene did an extremely good job with the tour. He was very knowledgeable and did very well pacing the tour with me. I was extremely impressed and would recommend him highly to another disabled person.
We had a wonderful custom tour with Eugene. He was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating for showing us the sites with my electric wheelchair. He was great at knowing the sights and navigating traffic. Highly recommend him as a tour guide.
Although we have been to Rome before, never have we felt so immersed in the realities of ancient Rome. Justin's narratives took us not just to the place of Rome, but into the heads of those ancient peoples. It is easy for us, in our contemporary times, to misunderstand the beliefs and lives (and miserable deaths) of the age. Justin is a fountainhead of information and painted pictures with his words. In addition, he is able to answer nearly every question put to him. Justin is a transplanted Norwegian and clearly loves his adopted home. His English is very good and easy to understand. Spring for the private tour and request Justin; you won't regret it!
Eugene was the absolute best!!! We loved him. Extremely knowledgeable, personable, a true Roman native! We felt like we were experiencing Rome through A Roman's eyes. We enjoyed both of our tours immensely and would request Eugene again and again!
We had a wonderful time during our private tour of Rome. Raul was our guide and he was fantastic. We visited Pantheon, Colliseum, Basilica San Clemente, and Palentine Hill before finishing our tour in the Roman forum. We were visiting Italy for a multi city trip and were incredibly appreciative of the prompt responses and flexibility in accomodating our prebooked arrival to Rome. Their team was accommodating and we had a seamless experience navigating through busy parts of the city. Raul also has an exceptional knowledge of Rome's history, and also knows the best Gelato in Rome! We will certainly refer our friends and family to Europe Odyssey Tours. Bravo!
Great tour with Eugene as our guide. He took us on a route that beat the cruise ship tourists to the most important sites.
Eugene was a great wealth of knowledge on Roman sites visited. He took us around at our pace and saw a little extra things most people would not know unless they grew up here like he has.
Our guide Justin was amazing. We didn’t have a question he couldn’t answer. So kind and positive. Led the tour at a great pace. Explained everything clearly and to the point. I wish we could have Justin for every tour we do now.
This was an amazing tour! We had an incredible time and it was all electric wheelchair accessible. Our guide was extremely knowledgable and friendly. We recommend this tour for people of all abilities that wish to see the highlights of Rome!
We (parents and two teens) were only in Rome for three days and wanted to see as much as we could while there. Booked this tour to round out the Colosseum and Vatican and was so happy we did. Eugene was fantastic! We all had some basic knowledge of the Romans, Greeks, Catholics etc., but Eugene gave us so much interesting background information we never knew about each of the places we visited and more. The crowds were massive, especially during Easter Week and a Jubilee year, but he took us off the beaten path to get us around quickly and show us a little of how locals live. It was a great way to spend an afternoon. Would book with this company again in a heartbeat.

Justin was very patient and informative and went out of his way and above and beyond to take us to a couple more places that we ask to see
One of the best guides I have ever worked with. Rahul was a gem. Called me in advance and we ended up personalizing the tour. Extremely knowledgeable and engaging. Provided suggestions for my subsequent days in Rome. Would highly recommend this tour.
We had a limited amount of time in Rome. Rahul is an absolute expert in the history and the best way to navigate the city. Having a private guide helped us move through the crowds flawlessly and make the most of our day.
Eugene was a great guide. We definitely went off the beaten path, which was exactly what we wanted. We hit all.of the highlights and also had a wonderful walk through the quite back streets of the city. He pointed out a lot of hidden gems that we had been walking by all week.
Excellent tour of Vatican City and Ancient Rome (The Ruins and the Colosseum). Our guide Rahul was a pleasure to be around and was very knowledgeable about every aspect of the tour.
We did two tours on two consecutive days with the amazing Rahul Raghavan of Europe Odyssey Tours. I’ve done many guided tours in many different countries but I have to say the two days we spent in Rome with Rahul taking us around were hands down the best tours we have ever done! You cannot get a better guide to Rome - well versed in its history, it’s art, politics and its story. You don’t just get facts - you get a sense of the life and soul of the city. We had our two children -aged 14 and 12 with us and they were mesmerised by the stories, the Vatican tour and the walk through Ancient Rome - which is in itself testimony to Rahul Raghavans skill. The best part of the trip was that Europe Odyssey tailored the tour to suit our and the children’s needs. Rahul worked with us to help identify an itinerary and a schedule that suited us - with coffee breaks and pit stops so that no one felt tired. Even better we were given super advice on restaurants and even the great hotel that we finally chose was a tip from Rahul. So what you get is not just a guided tour of Rome but a whole package of support! We will keep going back!
