Excellent concert in the beautiful palazzo Doria pamphilli . A very talented trio with Paula , Lorenzo and Stefano . Would highly recommend ❤️
Rome is crowded and a little overwhelming. A wonder sanctuary was this hour long concert in this intimate setting. With only 20 people in attendance, it was an extraordinary private performance. Intermixed with Paola's beautiful soprano voice were beautiful instrumental flute and string performances. It was truly a treat!
My brother and I came to Rome for 4 days and packed so much activities of seeing the usual attractions. We wanted to do something a little different so when I came across this, I booked without hesitation because we are both music lovers and I myself am a professional pianist. From the initial assistance with booking right through to the end, Paola was wonderful. Not only is she a hugely talented soprano but she’s just so warm, friendly and welcoming to her audience that it really made the evening so much more endearing. A special mention must be made to Lorenzo the Baroque guitarist, who not only gave a fantastic and interesting tour of the secret palace chambers but his rendition of Johann Hieronymus Kapsberger’s ‘Arpeggiata’ was both haunting and mesmerising. Together with Stefano on recorder and percussion, the trio performed the programme brilliantly and showed so much passion and true enjoyment for their work. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for an evening of musical joy and getting away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist attractions.
This was our third time attending a concert organised by Roma Opera Omnia, and it was as spectacular as ever. Every time we are in Rome we look to see what they are doing and they never disappoint! This concert in particularly was the perfect opportunity to experience the intimate world of baroque performance, with a stellar cast of musicians. Paola is a sweetheart and you really get the impression that the whole team loves what they do and are so passionate. Highly recommended!
I felt like a parched flower after hours of walking to experience the countless, beautiful, and historical sites in the grand city of Rome. And then, it was as if a restorative mist was falling on me when I was ushered to a lovely rooftop courtyard atop Palazzo Palmphilj, where the promise of “aperitif and opera” awaited. Oh! What artistry and joy! A duo of an accomplished soprano and tenor, accompanied by a wonderful pianist, interpreted famous Puccini and Verdi arias with skill and passion. The soprano Paola’s coloratura shone during Vissi d’arte, and Tosca came to life. The drink and salumi e fromaggio included in the very reasonable cost of the evening were a bonus to the music, songs, and stunning views, which included Piazza Navona and the setting of Tosca’s Act I— the church Sant’Andrea Della Valle. The audience was able to interact with the artists and they were so kind and gracious! A great evening!
This was an outstanding and special Roman experience So special to visit the intimate Apartments of the Pamphili family in the Palazzo Doria Pamphili and then to be so beautifully entertained in those apartments. We were treated to a beautiful selection of opera songs and baroque music on original instruments by an extremely talented trio. The warmth and authenticity of the music was amazing. So special to get this quality of entertainment in an intimate setting with a small and select audience. Highly recommended.
A simple and elegant evening concert. Lively and easy-going, the selections are a perfect taste of baroque in unique surroundings!
For the last night in Rome my husband surprised me with tickets to this show of opera songs on the top terrace at the hotel. What an experience! The place is gorgeous, the views of piazza Navona amazing. We had a table and were served with wine, water and antipasto that we did not expect. Than the music started and it took my breath away, tears coming down on my cheeks from happiness. The soprano and the tenor and the pianist were great, the acoustic perfect! What a night!
Do not miss the opportunity to see this group! You get to experience a private palazzo apartment which is exquisite (and currently lived in!). The music is divine and with such a small audience, incredibly immersive. I enjoyed the music of Paola, Lorenzo, and Stefano so much, I bought the CD!
Fantastic experience. Intriguing palazzo.... Paolo, Lorenzo and Stefano were incredible artists... We really enjoyed the experience and highly recommend
This event was in my bucket list and I came with little or few have expectations but the rendition of Claudio Montervedi's "Si dolce e il tormento" by Paola Alonzi simply blew my mind. I will take this evening with me as an unforgettable and moving experience and one which typifies the Renaissance and Baroque periods in those days. There are songs in the repertoire which are equally good if not better and the hour long session which included a tour of The Princess secret apartments was truly awesome considering this was in the 16th to 17th century.
We enjoyed the evening so very much! The musicians were so very accomplished! We have recommended this to musician friends who will visit next year - a must do!
Beautiful music, up close and personal. Plus some rare instruments and interesting period rooms as a setting. Highly recommended.
On our last visit to Rome my wife and I decided to enjoy the visit to the secret Princess Doria Pamphilj apartment and the Baroque Chamber and Opera Concert of Roma Opera Omnia in one of the secret rooms of this incredible palace. The concert was absolutely superb. Paula Alonzi, the Soprano, and the other players are great virtuoso performers and the program is very intriguing and informative, introducing the guests to the origin of the Italian Opera. We highly recommed it to all lovers of music and art in general. And don't forget to visit the whole Palazzo Doria Pamphilj!
Una magnifica sorpresa! My friend and I were in Rome for a short time and looking for opera. We found "Vivaldi and Opera in Rome Princess Secret Apartment, Palazzo Doria Pamphlij" online and were immediately intrigued. The tour of the apartment was wonderful and rich with history. The performance by Roma Opera Omnia was intimate and absolutely beautiful - just as chamber music should be. The magic of hearing passionately performed early music on period instruments and the beautiful voice of Paola Alonzi made a flawless evening.
This was a wonderful evening of beautiful music by incredibly musicians! The tour of the apartment was fun, but the song selection, talent of the musicians and virtuosity was fantastic! Highly recommend. Great for aficionados and simply lovers of beauty and music.
Oh my god....... what an absolutely amazing experience. Everyone who enjoys classical music MUST go and see Paola, Kazuko, Marco & Lorenzo. We went on the 12th November 2022 and are still enthralled by the experience over 24hrs later. We will definitely try and arrange to see them again on our next trip to Rome. 100% recommendation. A huge thank you Nigel & Alla
Our group of 5 really enjoyed the intimate apartment setting and incredible Baroque music of this “secret” event. It was so secret in-fact that finding the venue allowed us to also uncover a gin-bar and an additional concert in the same building. We found the explanation of the music selection very informative. The apartment tour and history lesson was an especially nice added bonus. Beyond all above the music was incredible. We have never experienced a Theorbo (14 string Baroque guitar)…wow. Thank you Lorenzo!. The cello and violin were equally excellent. Paola’s Soprano voice was eye-opening and powerful. All around a great experience that we all thoroughly enjoyed.
It's all done very lovingly, and well organized, the three musicians also do it very nicely, well world stars don't, but above all the guitarist is really very good and this soprano is extremely adorable. The selection of music from the time around Monteverdi is appealing. The tour of the family's supposed secret private rooms is, of course, quite surprising. The rooms are very poorly furnished, as if someone had been there for the last time in World War II and there was a lack of money for furniture and everything. In addition, the rooms are downright shabby, there is a bit of garbage on the cabinets here and there, the furniture is rather petty-bourgeois peasant. The paintings on the walls are rather black hams of unknown painters. So that's not very credible, that anyone from the noble family ever lived there, or at least not in the last 70 years... But well, adorable overall.
The Opera Serenades at Palazzo Doria Pamphilj was pure magic. The beautiful historical setting made me feel like I had gone back in time. Surrounded by centuries-old beauty, the atmosphere was simply unforgettable. The trio's performance was fantastic: full of emotion, grace and incredible talent. Their music filled the room and touched the heart. A truly unique and touching experience that I would recommend to anyone visiting Rome.
That was an extraordinary concert! My daughter and I , we were overwhelmed! We love classical music and we know our way around. The wonderful powerful and warm voice of Paola, then an extraordinary guitar playing by Lorenzo and the beautiful flute playing by Stephano made this evening really nice. Also the wonderful location of Palazzo Doria Pamphilj and a very nice meal in a very good Italian restaurant - all this together made our evening in Rome just wonderful and unforgettable. Everything was made to a very high standard and with the wonderful Italian warmth and love! Dear Paola, thank you very much for this unforgettable evening! Many greetings from Elena and Angelika from Germany!
The place, the music, the musicians and the soprano are amazing. An excellent union, with an intimate, engaging and exciting environment. Congratulations to the organization
Wonderful experience! After a short tour of some rooms in the palace provided by one of the musicians, we enjoyed an intimate chamber concert (approximately 30 seats) with fantastic music and singing and valuable background information for each piece. It was absolutely right and I can recommend it to anyone who loves classical music to book this concert. It is also really something different from a large concert hall. And what a quality and passion these musicians have!
A truly special and surprising event. The skill of the musicians and soprano singer leaves you speechless - very exciting! The musical setlist is well chosen. Intimate setting that takes you back to the Baroque period. Highly recommended. Thank you very much. Paola Alonzi, Soprano Kazuko Abe, Violin Marco Saldarelli, Cello Lorenzo Sabene, Theorbo, Baroque guitar
Very nice musical experience. After a charming introduction through the rooms of the princess organized according to the four elements, there was a varied concert : Singing, string instruments from the Baroque. Fantastic!
A unique moment, full of emotion in small committee (private concerto) Great musicians: violin, cello, lute (theorbo) and baroque guitar and... an exceptional Soprano. All in a typical Roman apartment with an impressive bathroom. We loved it! Grazie
