Worst service ever. Hard to find the pick up Locations. Busses over crowded and long waits. More like 45 minutes not 10-15 minutes. When boarding was not given headset so we had to pretend we know what we were going past. Glad we took a walking tour yesterday! Use the other bus tours, they have more busses going by. And the website was not helpful at all. Once we found a stop that was close by we used the directions link and it was generic, not to the bus stop! I have used many hop on hop Off busses in worldwide locations and I will never use this bus company again!!!
Relatively easy to get buses on the route, convenient to get to major attractions. Hot on some of the routes even with cover up top.
It was good, the only thing when we got off for the fountain we weren't sure what way to go. They just drop you off. Would help if knowing what way, but so beautiful to see
Easiest way to get around and see the sites. It was close to 100° and I was so hot so it was so much better than walking!!
Worst part of my whole vacation!! Bus was hot and there was minimal communication. bed stopped at each location for too long.
Map way too vague, signage abysmal and nobody bothered to tell us one stop closed. Hopped on once as a result. Walked miles in 90 degree weather as a result. It was like putting money in a paper shredder.
There was a cycling event in Rome the day that we took the bus tour which made about half of the stops on the route unavailable. Also, the “audio guide” was more like fun facts rather than historically rich. The bus doesn’t drive by all of the monuments, but they are accessible by walking from the bus stop. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend.
Do not buy this bus / from this source- the bus was fine- BUT the rep never met with tickets- it’s a 3rd party seller -the bus operator won’t let you on with the reciept when the 3rd party seller doesn’t show up- when you call he says “I what’s-append it to you” - I said “I don’t use WhatsApp”. He texts’s photos of the ticket— you finally get on the bus but they don’t give you a ticket - so you have to explain/argue with the next driver who thinks your texted photo is a scam because you don’t have a ticket…. Very frustrating!!!!!
First, they showed a Colosseum stop on the map and that is the main reason we bought it as my friend can't walk well. They did not stop there and we had a far walk back to it and missed our timed entry. Then leaving, they did not stop again so we took a taxi. The man who sold us the ticket near the Vatican said it was a 6 min walk to the Vatican stop, it was 30 minutes. The bus was hot and crowded and you spend way too much to ime time stuck in traffic. Take the Metro.
Didn’t see Trevi Fountains or the Pantheon. The audio was good, but wished there had been a map provided
this is such a perfect way to get around Rome and have a compressive tour of the historical and ancient wealth of this unique city. I would advice anyone to take the tour to bring back home with you a memorable experience and knowledge about such great civilization. Thank you!
Quite good. But not as many buses as other companies so had the wait quite often. Good commentary and interesting facts.
Tickets purchased online accepted without any difficulty. Bus was as expected and route also. Only problem was that one ear phone jack didn't work and as the bus was full initially it wasn’t possible to move. Otherwise good value for money.
Long lines to get on the bus. Many people do not get off; therefore long wait until an empty bus comes. Bus does not stop near the attractions, so be prepared to walk. Good luck getting back on the bus!!
I booked the sightseeing tour through Trip Advisor, Powered by Viator. The ad indicated that it was a Green Line bus. I was given a Green Line bus map, which I had printed out at home. The voucher said the activity provider was Eternal City Explorers. We found the Green Line pick-up location only by asking drivers of other tour buses where to find it. When I showed my voucher and map to the driver, he didn't think that it was valid, and made us wait while he made several phone calls to his employer to verify. There was a long line of people behind us waiting to board the bus. Eventually he let us board. Then there were further delays as other passengers tried to get approval to board. This happened at the next few stops. so we spent more time sitting at stops than actually touring the city. We got off a few stops later and skipped the rest of the tour. I still don't know if we were on the tour I thought I was purchasing.
Very nice staff! So helpful as we were struggling with navigating the city! They even called me later to make sure everything went smoothly!
Misleading information. They claim the buses run until 8 pm but they really stop around 6:30. Wherever you are that is where you have to get off. Many of us were trying to get to the stops closest to where we were staying but at 6:30 it arrived at the transit stop and everyone had to get off there as they claimed it was the end. We had to walk 3 miles to get back after a long day.
Great tour, but bad directions to the pick up spot. Informative and helpful. Less buses that the Big Bus Yours
They advertise bus every 10 minutes, but in reality it’s every 40 minutes. When the bus comes it was too full. Use another company
Great way to get around Rome. We bought the 72 hrs pass because we were there 3 nights. Stop 5 is a great stop to see the Spanish Steps although it is not designated on the map. Very short walk from there to the Steps, Trevi Fountain, and the Pantheon. Stop 5 is the bomb. The Hop On is also a great and cheap way to get back and forth to the Vatican.
Not enough buses for the people taking the bus tours. Had to wait at several stops. Your staff at some of the stops could use some education in handling the crowds waiting for the buses.
These buses are basic, but dependable. It was nice being able to have this option, but we didn't really use it much. We hopped on after touring the Colosseum and again the next day for a little bit. We thought the bus stops were hard to find and the app is garbage (does not track the bus), but we just asked around a little and found where we needed to go. I also thought there should be more stops.
The City Tour bus tour was as expected, once we able to use it. The problem that we had is the transfer of tickets from Trip Advisor, the representative in Rome (some random person name Walid), and the personnel on the actual tour bus. The whole thing felt shady. Trip Advisor sends you a voucher for the tour that is useless to City Tour, they don't use it. Walid sent me a fuzzy picture of some physical tickets for the tour through WhatsApp the day of the tour with instructions to present them to the tour bus operator. The tour bus operator had no idea what the heck was going on. He is required to collect physical tickets. He eventually went through a 20 minute process that ended with me getting some physical tickets which are needed to ride the bus. A less kind operator would have just kicked us off the tour. Make it easy on yourself. Just get tickets when you are there. This is not a tour that sells out. I will never pre-book for a hop on/ off tour again.
Fantastic way to get to know Rome before looking at the many wonderful historic sites. It was easy to step off when you wanted to and back on for further adventure. The headset information was great.
A relatively inexpensive and relaxing way to see Rome! The only glitch was Trip Advisor’s reseller sent an image of our tickets via what’s App which the I Love Rome bus conductor was reluctant to accept. This was stressful as it seemed like the conductor was not going to allow us on the bus. Instead of purchasing through Trip Advisor I would recommend buying direct from the I Love Rome Staff who are on the ground at every stop.
We were not allowed on the bus. Our ticket was not official. So they said. Had to pay again. Not happy. We were ripped off.
The seats were in poor condition, the headphones did not work in the headphone port. Drivers and staff rude. The buses were so far apart and had to wait 30-50mins for a bus to arrive.
I booked via Google with Trip Advisor- Not one of the official Bus tours we approached recognised our barcode on our ticket confirmation so after about an hour of trying we had no option but to give up losing our payment ! Shocking.
We purchased two 48-hour hop-on hop-off bus tour tickets from "I Love Rome" on May 31st, 2025. Firstly, after placing the order through the app, we did not receive the tickets. After waiting for around 30 minutes (instead of visiting the sights), I had to submit a request through their website asking for the tickets to be sent. Eventually, we received a PDF with the tickets. Secondly—and more importantly—nowhere on the website or in the ticket confirmation email was it mentioned that many of the stops would be out of service due to road closures. When we tried to board the bus at the Colosseum stop, we waited for nearly 50 minutes along with at least 15 other confused passengers. No signs or staff were present to notify us that the stop was not operational. There was only a small notice on a pole indicating road closures starting from June 1st—not May 31st, the day of our ticket. We walked to the next few stops and it was the same situation. This lack of accurate and timely information caused unnecessary frustration and wasted time. ⚠️ Terrible communication and zero customer support. Not worth your time or money. When we returned to our hotel, we tried to contact customer service to request a refund, but it was impossible. The website provides no phone number—only a request form. The email confirmation included a phone number, but it was based in Spain, not Italy. I submitted multiple requests through the website and replied to the confirmation email several times, but received no response. Overall, this was a disappointing and frustrating experience. I do NOT recommend using this service.
We were told to take one bus then were asked to leave it because that one was a different company. But we presented our tickets and followed their instructions.
Great way to quickly see sites. Was very busy in Rome when we went. I enjoy hop on hop off it always allows you to go at your own pace. We have used it in several different countries.
Very scanty advice on where to actually pick up bus from. Messages all said 9.30 pick up but not from where. We had to ask around other bus company representatives (of which there were loads - didnt see one for this company anywhere except when we eventually found pick up nearest to us) Messages came through one hour late - telling us where to go etc Tripadvisor obviously hadnt taken into account the time difference (Rome is one hour ahead) by which time we had wandered about asking people and following their directions. The red bus us much better organised - easy to find stops and lots of staff around to help.
First of all, the Viator ticket did not come with a qr code which is what they were looking for so it took them several minutes to figure out how to accept our booking. Then, this bus had so many delays. There were a couple times that we waited up to double the estimated time between buses. We watched 2 (one time 3!) of each of the other brand buses come and go while waiting for the greenline bus.
Best service very reccomended good service good tour i made in rome was very interesting i liked most of the stops highly reccomended
Beautiful trip! Good way to see Rome in a very quick time so if you have few hours to spend in the eternal city I really suggest you to book this tour Next time I will do the same I loved it
Excellent experience ❤️ nice very very nice experience I would like to repeat another time again ❤️❤️❤️❤️, ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Poor experience. You pay a lot to see ultimately very little. The “commentary “ on the bus is useless as it has nothing to do with where you are, and is basically just filler. If you are 2 or 3 people it is so expensive that it is actually better to take 3 or 4 taxis in the day and get driven exactly where you want to go. In some cities it might work well but in Rome you do not get close to many of the main monuments with this hop on service.
Contacted the Green line company through Trip Advisor, with What's App. They were very responsive and helpful. They sent me a map and picture of the bus to help us when we arrive.
We never found the bus line. No map was given. We ended up walking the entire afternoon. Complete waste of money. Very disappointed.
Perfect way to scope out what is best to see. Walking from spot to spot after that is the perfect way to see everything up close
Loved this hop on/off service. Buses were regular too. The guides were helpful and accommodating. Don't hang around stop 1C at the Termini as the buses don't seen to pass by there. We waited a while on 2 accessions - but then figured out the route and found many buses.
Great experience.i thank the whole team for their professionalis.thank you for everyone.l highly recommend.see you soon
Would not use again . Waited too long at certain stops . Had to pay for a taxi to return to coach tour pickup point at the Colosseum .. due to bus taking a 25 minute break and no other bus available as informed by the lady on the bus . A number of other passenger's had to do the same , so as to not miss their return coach tour .even though we had planned enough time …
Great way to see Rome and all attractions quickly and really cool. Me and my family we really enjoyed the trip ! Highly recommend
Thank you for everything is reallly very nice and very good experience thanks for a staff and mr walid also rome is beautifull city really more better with eternel city explorers

I had a wonderful experience, I would like to do it again as soon as possible, the staff was very kind and helpful. I recommend everyone to try 😇
The trip was super super amazing and recommended. Saw Rome in an easy and friendly way. Very careful and experienced team
It was a good way to see where things are located to make notes to return. I advise staying on the bus for one full loop before getting off at a stop. Also, plan to wait up to 30 or more minutes depending on where you want to get back on.
