Naples & Pompeii Day Tour From Rome: Pompeii Ticket & City Visit

Tour guide and bus driver excellent. Even after we double booked, the guide was the person to notice and advise on next steps.

The tour of Pompei was very interesting and wonderfully lead by Gracia (not sure if that’s how you spell it). Would definitely like to discover the other two sections if I get the chance. Our Naples stop was also productive and we were able to do everything on our list in the two hours. Can honestly recommend this tour as an all day activity.

Nicolo and Max were amazing as guide and driver respectively. Nicolo provided much information about both Pompeii and Naples as we were on the bus. If you go to Pompeii, bring a filled water bottle. A very enjoyable tour

Fantastic day with the family taking in the sights of Pompeii and Naples. Nicolo was a brilliant tour guide for the day - very knowledgeable, interesting and kind. Max the driver did a great job of keeping us all comfy and cool on the coach and getting to each destination on time. It was a long day from Rome but really enjoyable. Highly recommend!

An excellent and well-organized tour that is definitely worth the money for anyone traveling from Rome. Our tour leader, Nicolo and chauffeur, Max were exceptionally friendly, professional and supportive throughout the trip. Nicolo did a fantastic job coordinating the group, personally checking the presence of every participant each time we left the bus, which made the experience smooth and stress-free. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a reliable and enjoyable tour experience!

Legeah and our Driver were very good at their job. Our directions to the meeting point was easy to find. The day went like this, a long ride to Pompeii with an opertunity to see Italy or take a nap. Pompeii visit was my favorite part, we did pay for the upgrade to a guided tour and it was well worth it, we learned a lot and had plenty of time for pictures and questions, our guide was easy to understand and very knowledgeable. Then a short ride to Naples, with some suggestions on what we could do in our two hours, walk towards the coastal side or the traditional Spanish area, we picked the the view of the water with some fire baked pizza. Then back on the bus ( wich was very comfortable and cool- with lots of windows and curtains if you needed to block out the sun). both ways they gave us an opportunity for Pit stop, clean facilities. All and all I would recommend this for anyone. our guide was very helpful to everyone even helping to find the best way to get back to their hotel after the trip.

Use a different tour guide group. I was racially profiled at Pompei and Naples during the trip by locals, and to make stuff worse the driver was rude as hell and I’ll never use Viator for anything else again. If I could I would get this charge removed from my credit card because this was the bottom of the barrel for experiences based on what I got in the Tuscany region and the Amalfi Coast region. Naples is a toilet full of trash and rude people everywhere. I will never visit these location again when I come back to Italy. Viator needs to do better. The 2 ladies that are the tour guides were good, but everything else was the worst experience I’ve had in Italy. I’m writing this while I’m still on the bus on the way back to Rome. Save your money and go with another company than Viator.

There is too much time spent going in and out of the ruins and hearing about the market place and what they were cooking. The tour should include more time n the museum and explanations of what happened to the people and how they were discovered after the volcano

Niccolo and Christiano were brilliant and looked after everyone! Niccolo's knowledge was incredible and he gave us facts throughout the journey to and from Pompeii/Naples. Really attentive and kind as well. They truly made the experience wonderful

Great tour but long day. The maples portion is unguided with a couple of hours to tour yourself; not much value. Pompeii part was excellent

Our tour guide in Pompeii was 30 minutes late, everyone else in the bus had to wait 30 min for our small group to finish a 2 hour tour that didn’t even include the amphitheater. This meant we had 30 min less in Naples.

Make sure to get the GUIDED tour inside Pompeii. We did and we would have missed SO much if we didn’t. Those with audio tours or self tours were scrambling at the last minute to upgrade but couldn’t because it was full.

Pompei is an amazing place to visit, unfortunately there is not enough time to see the sites as it’s a 3 hour drive each way from Central Rome. The tour guide was kind, friendly and spoke different languages. If you’re serious about visiting Pompei more time there is needed to fully explore wonders of this Archaeological site!

Pompeii is very nice and the houses teaches lots about life back then. The bus ride was long but the food in Naples was great. The vibe was nice as it displayed the grit of Naples. However,I think there should be more clarity with pickup point - location was changed day before and when on vacation most may not be checking phone often. You should send messages via WhatsApp and Request a reply message to ensure that the customer actually acknowledges the pickup point change . Also, was unclear that we are expected to download an app at Pompeii in order to follow along- which didn’t work in the end anyways. Had to use ChatGPT and Google lens to fill in the gaps which is absurd. Also in Naples I found it odd that we were left to wander the streets with little direction (2 recommendations) on what to do for the time there. Again, Google to the rescue for that. For the price paid for the tour these are simple things that should be a given to encourage people to book with a tour group vs booking directly (which is cheaper) I gave it 3/5 but it was a great day overall but felt that the only benefit was a comfortable bus ride but definitely could be improved in the future.

Very nice experience. The Bus guide (Nicollo) and the Pompeii guide (Fiorella) were very knowledgeable and knew what they were talking about. The journey went on very smoothly. All in all a very enjoyable experience (not to mention that Naples and Pompeii are very beautiful)

Our tour guide in Naples was wonderful. I think her name was Erika. We had a leisurely walk through Pompeii and saw the most important sites. When we arrived in Pompeii, we had about two hours to wander the city and had a wonderful lunch of Margarita pizza.. the meeting point was very convenient and the tour was very organized. The bus driver Giovanni was great and the tour guide car. Nicolo was awesome. Nicole was very personable, very attentive to our needs and made sure that we were very comfortable during the trip. I would highly recommend this tour!

Tour was excellent, our guide Carlo was so attentive to all of our needs. He was very knowledgeable and interesting. His presentation at Pompeii kept you engaged and entertained. Gave many good tips for spending time in Naples.

Pompeii is amazing! The bus (Roberto was our driver) ride was smooth with perfect midpoint stopping place. Guide was professional and friendly. Bus speakers could be improved for clarity of information given by Nicoli The wait for our tour to start meant we had 30 minutes less than our bus mates

Excellent guide for the trip overall. Just enough time in Pompei where the small group English tour was excellent- just long enough for kids to stay interested. Naples was interesting although very crowded! Comfortable tour bus was an important plus. It was a long day but we appreciated being able to see these sites in one day trip. Highly recommend.

For the time we had, we were allowed to be pretty independent and make the most of it. The 2 hours at each place isn’t really enough to do it justice, but we got a taste. Max (driver) and Nicolo (guide) were great, and twice were very accommodating of the parties who showed up very late to departure. The one downside was the rest stop which is a very high priced, low quality experience. They do not stop at a place that is included in the toll road but actually get off the road to go to a separate place where they are ready to sell you wine, oil, and limoncello. I wish we could have done a normal roadside stop.

Sara was a great tour guide!! She worked very hard translating the day’s schedule in 3 languages and took the time showing each family maps of where we were going, keeping everyone informed all day long! This tour to pompeii and naples was a lot of fun! I highly reccommend it!

The tour was well organized and as described. Nicolo was pleasant and very friendly. The local guide was very good and enjoyable. The two hours in Naples should have been longer.

We did an unguided tour. So basically this was just transportation between the different sites. It was comfortable and the representative was great. She made the experience pleasant. The only confusion was where to meet. The address on Trip Advisor is vague and does not actually list the address. If you click on the link provided by trip advisor. It takes you the opposite area of the actual meeting location. Luckily I accidentally click on something and it was in the scripts. The ticket does have the actual address and business close by business. I guess I should have click on that and not the link provided by Tripadvisor.

Very little time at both places. Barely any time for naples. It feels travel time is more than actual time at both places.

The tour was well organised and our tour guide was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this tour to anyone who is looking for an insight in Pompeii and Naples.

Pompeii is Very open and hot. Wear a hat or bring a shade of some kind. Bring water and drink plenty.

Pompeii The meeting point was a disaster. We stayed in front of the gate of the park for 30 minutes, the English guide was late for 15 minutes and after she arrived there was a mistake in the list of the names. She had to do some phone calls before starting the tour. I had to leave without completing the tour because of my bus leave time. Napoli, The bus dropped us in the hop on hop off station. We had to pay tickets for just 40 minutes tour. It doesn’t worth. I think it is faster and cheaper if you booked a train ticket from rome to Napoli and navigate by your own. The hop on hop off station is in front of Napoli train station

It’s a little bit hurry, you don’t get enough time to see Pompeya and you only see what the guide show you because you don’t have enough time. The part of Napoli I recommend to skip

Everything was timed perfectly, everyone arrived we left for Pompeii about 7:10 AM. We visited Pompeii with a 15 min stop before arriving to allow everyone to use restrooms get coffee, drinks or snacks. We we’re given 2.5 hrs in Pompeii if you don’t procrastinate you can get your money worth. You need easy 6 hrs a day for 3 days to see every part but let’s be honest we didn’t pay for that amount of time so let’s be reasonable. We left on time and went to Naples - given another 2 hrs and 45 mins and was nice. Note to everyone - Google Brandy pizza in Naples, it’s the birth place of Margaritas pizza and only 8 mins from bus drop off in Naples it’s on Spanish St. pizza is €10.00. They serve many other dishes as well, a must go. Overall I give the excursion 5 Stars, all six of us enjoyed ourselves. Very memorable we’re from New Orleans but live in Atlanta Ga & Dallas areas now.

The tour was great but I wouldn’t bother with the guided tour of Pompeii. We were encouraged to upgrade to the guided tour of Pompeii. I regretted this and wish I’d left it as just the entry ticket option - we didn’t see much of it as the tour group took 20 mins to get organised and then finished half hour before we were due back at the bus, this didn’t allow time for us to explore further. The tour guide spent ages near the entrance, and was very rude to a lady who asked a question. I was gutted as I’d wanted to go to Pompeii since I was a child and barely saw anything.

I really enjoyed the guided tour of pompeii the best. Both guides were very good. I would recommend the trip. It was worth taking the long bus rides.

Sara tour coordinator gave us a time to be back and sent us with Ryvetta who was excellent. The tour took longer than expected and bus was ready to leave before we were back. Sara called and yelled at us. Not good experience. We stayed in coffee shop in Naples and waited for bus fearing we would miss bus So, Pompeii was incredible. Naples was a waste of time and money. Tour should not send people with a group and expect us to get ourselves back before completed.

The trip was very disappointing. The bus and the tour co-ordinator who was in the bus were fine but the guide at Pompeii was terrible. She was the guide for English but could not speak English well. As a result we could barely understand anything. The guided tour started at 10:50 and ended at 12:13. The people who did not do guided tours or who did audio tours were helped and they got in at least 30 min while we waited in the sun. They were either trying to get a guide or the guide was late - dont know what was the issue. There was utter chaos with no guidance or accountability. Same in Naples- we were let off and told to come back at a specific time. When we asked for recommendations- there were none. Naples is filled with tourist traps and we along with other guests had an unpleasant experiences. Would not recommend this company or tour.

Highly recommend this tour from Rome to Naples and Pompeii. The ruins of Pompeii are incredible, and Naples has so much to offer. Excellent guide and smooth logistics made it a memorable experience!

I arrived at the designated meeting spot 15 minutes early. I never saw the guide; I waited 45 minutes. I missed the tour..

The multilingual host was simply lovely and detail oriented, which made for a well informed, comfortable and enjoyable day. It was the best way I could have extended my short break in Rome to Naples and Pompeii. Because of this well organised tour I had such a fulfilling holiday to Italy.
