Haunted Rome & True Crime: Cenci Curse Exploration Game And Tour

I didn't realize it was going to be structured almost like a scavenger hunt, though this was actually more fun than a standard walking tour. It's not really a ghost tour- though some of the areas you stop at do have a haunted history. That being said, it takes you to some must-see and hidden gem locations all around downtown Rome, and that was really quite cool. My grievance is that some of the spots turned out to be close to each other, but it has you go back and forth and back and forth rather than structuring it so your trip is circular or linear. Also, our first two stops were closed or obscured by major ongoing construction, which meant we were unable to play the game and answer the prompt to generate the next location without just having the answer revealed - which was kind of a bummer way to start the whole thing. Obviously they can't monitor those things in real time, but hopefully they're updating the locations if a stop is permanently closed or unavailable to the public to view for the unforeseeable future. Anyways, I thought this actually seemed like a fun activity for families or friends - but be prepared to do some major back and forth walking.

I purchased the experience because the reviews and the information says you can listen to it without having to walk through Rome. I got it so I could listen to it while my husband who has difficulty walking was resting. I was never able to listen to the experience. I downloaded the app, went to the ghost experience but it wouldn’t play! Ugh, I was looking forward to hearing the stories.

Really nice and very appreciates, it's a good idea to have a beautifull day with family with children.

The game is too dated. The first three things are either no longer there or covered up with scaffolding. Once we got to that third or fourth thing that isn’t there it was just frustrating so we went back to our hotel.

A fun way to see some of Rome's less touristy spots and learn a little spooky history and get a good walk. The story is a little grim but hey thats history!

Lots of interesting and scary stories- saw different parts of Rome that are not on the usual tourist trail.

It was a lot of fun to explore on one’s own. It takes you through safe areas at night that while packed during the day, you may have to yourself. A fun history tour at your own pace solving puzzles and finding niche historical information you may miss otherwise.

Several of the clues are inaccessible due to construction. As fun as it is to do this quest at night, it is considerably harder if not impossible to make out some of the clues then. The story is very interesting and brings you to places you might not otherwise go.

Cool app that "gamifies" a city tour without having to pay for an actual person to take you around. I just tried it out the Private Rome Ghost Tour without having to be there, I will try it soon in Copenhagen while in Copenhagen. I will update you soon on how that goes.

Had so much fun going around Rome. The story was really good and the unexpected twist mind-blowing. It got me. Definetley recommend

This is a very fun way to experience one of the world's most historical cities! I had so much fun watching out for ghosts while I learned some things about Rome that I had never known. Mixing history with a fun adventure is not only very creative, but also it keeps you interested and amused at the same time. I highly recommend this game to anyone who wants to spend part of their day exploring and discovering a unique way to see Rome! Because of Covid, I was not able to travel to Rome, so I played the game from my home in California.

I was pleasantly surprised and delighted by the amount of detail that went into this and how much I learned while having such a wonderful adventure! The game was exciting and really engaging. Easy to feel how this would appeal to a wide span of ages.

It was a fun game. I loved it. It gave me excitement & fun. I also learned some new facts, history and stories about Rome. :) I would suggest to include some voice, music or story telling within the app. We were only reading but a voice would add more fun experience in the game.

I went to Rome by myself and Questo is one of the best ways to explore the lesser known part of the city by yourself. It's fun and well thought through. I wish they would develop one for the city I am based in.

I went with my friends at night and we had a lot of fun walking around to each location! We stopped to get shots every time we accomplished a task to make it more exciting too! It takes you to places you wouldn’t see if you weren’t paying attention. I already knew most of the stories since I did a lot of research before hand but I still learned some new things! Be prepared for a lot of walking!

The game itself was engaging and centered around the local lore. The informations we learned helped us have a better understanding of the city as we visited. A fun activity for the whole family I'd say.

Lots of fun visiting areas we wouldn’t normally go to. The clues were challenging enough to keep us interested and invested in the game.

My boyfriend and I loved this walking tour. It's like a game that took us to some of the nicest places in Rome. We also learned some nice stories along the way. We worked together to solve the clues :)

It's great and so much fun. Some places were under construction and it was a little difficult, but we had a great time!

The game was a lot of fun. 1 or 2 puzzles were too difficult or impossible to solve late at night, even though it is recommended to play in the evening, so it loses 1 star. Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to see Rome from a different perspective.

Virtual or not, we have neither found nor seen ghosts. But we certainly know much more about each of them and the itinerary followed made us discover beautiful corners of Rome. It's a shame that point 2 (the doll hospital) no longer exists for some time, the locals tell us. And apparently no one bothered to update the game itself and delete it or replace it with something else (terrible!)

Fantastic experience. A nice way to see and discover the city. Activity designed very well. To be redone!!!

It was my first experience and I found it a very original idea to do a different tour. I'll repeat for sure.
