We were absolutely delighted with the tour! Our guide did an amazing job, combining great knowledge with humor and a fantastic way of bringing everything to life. The information was presented in such an engaging and entertaining way that everyone, from the youngest to the oldest, was able to follow along and enjoy the experience. Annette has given us an AMAZING tour! She is very spontanous, witty AND knowledgeable - and has the talent to be an actress :-) She told us about the Gladiators and events in the Colosseum in a colourful way, evoking all our senses - getting us to imagine, act and feel. Our 13 - year old twins didn't complain once, in 3 and a half hours - they were all the time engaged, fascinated or laughing about Annettes jokes. The whole group of 17 was having a very good time. Also the Forum Roman, the basilika are SOOO incredible. Well, we are very happy and grateful to have been on your tour!

Susi, our Tour Guide, was excellent with a high degree of connection with our group. She pointed out many details that otherwise would have gone unnoticed. She anticipated many questions and volunteered answers. I’m sure we learned twice as much as we would have with just the regular tour!

We had the best experience while walking through the colosseum as well as the forum romanum and listening to the incredible history of Rome. Most of it depended on our guide Matteo. He was extremely knowledgeable and knew so many anecdotes, it was amazing! We had lots of fun and enjoyed the tour from the first to the last minute.

Die Tour hat uns und den Kindern super gefallen und uns allen viel Spaß gemacht. Annette hat alles toll erklärt, man merkt ihr die Begeisterung für Rom und seine Geschichte wirklich an. Die Tour hat sogar fast 30 Minuten länger gedauert als geplant, da die Kinder viele Fragen gestellt haben und alle beantwortet wurden. Die Tour ist wirklich weiter zu empfehlen.

Unser Reiseführer Giancarlo hat sehr kurzweilig, mit einer Portion Humor und viel Hintergrundwissen durch Kolloseum und Forum Romanum geführt. Schön fanden wir, dass er alle Kinder miteinbezogen hat.

I would give more stars if the option existed. A unique experience was offered to us. I would recommend this tour to everyone, and specifically a tour with Susi. She has an exciting way of storytelling and compact, detailed knowledge. She deconstructs historical misconceptions and reconstructs historical awareness in an unmistakable way. The tour is well-planned and structured from beginning to end. Funny and heartwarming, thank you very much!

The tour was consistently exciting, varied, and entertaining. It was less about dates and more about stories and connections, so that even the children (10 and 12) listened attentively and were able to take a lot away with them. We can definitely recommend the guide Giancarlo.

Both the history of Rome and that of the gladiators are vividly told

The tour guide (Giancarlo) was such a friendly, likable, and warmhearted man who, on one hand, understood how to bring the love for his profession and his hometown close to us, and on the other hand, how to re-engage the children who were partially bored by history. The three-hour tour flew by. We would definitely do a tour with Giancarlo again.

Giancarlo was brilliant, lively, funny, and out and about with us with so much knowledge. It was a few hours that will remain unforgettable. Thank you for your time. We could have listened for hours more. The entire process with the German Roman was perfect. Booking and information about the procedures were clear and unambiguous. On-site, there were absolutely no lines – we were able to enjoy the smooth, well-structured process from the very first minute. A huge compliment goes to our great guide ANNETT! With her warm, fun, and incredibly likable manner, she engaged us right from the start. She conveyed history not only with interesting facts, but brought it to life through an impressive storytelling style and great visual illustrations. You could really experience the history emotionally. We would especially like to highlight how great the tour was for children – an absolute recommendation for families! We took a 3-hour tour of the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, and the Basilica San Clemente with Giancarlo. We booked directly through the tour operator, which was great because we were in direct contact with the organizers, Matthias and Annett, via WhatsApp. The two of them took great care of us, answered all our questions in advance, and tailored the tour perfectly for us and our 3 kids (7, 9, and 11 years old); I haven't experienced that with any other provider. Matthias and Annett also advised us on other points of our trip and supported us in our planning—that was super helpful. Our guide Giancarlo exceeded all expectations and led us through Rome for more than 3 hours. Giancarlo loves the city and his enthusiasm is contagious. He managed to get all 3 children excited and shared so much with us about Rome and its history—we enjoyed every minute and can wholeheartedly recommend Giancarlo. That is not something you take for granted, especially with children of different ages. The Basilica San Clemente in particular thrilled us all—an absolute hidden gem and, thanks to Giancarlo's tour, super exciting for all of us. We would love to come back and can recommend Giancarlo and the tour operator in every respect.

We did a total of 4 (private) tours with the tour operator 'Deutsche Römerin'. The tours had been planned according to our wishes and all guides were very good. Giancarlo really topped it all off on Wednesday. The Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill came to life through his storytelling. Mega beautiful and very entertaining event. We saw a lot of Rome where you actually don't see anything from the outside and would have just walked by. The finish at the ice cream parlor was just another really great highlight! Aweeeesome!
