Full-day Small-group Pompeii And Amalfi Coast Tour From Rome

A great day trip from Rome! Very convenient with the hotel pick up and drop off. Our driver Paulo was great! Our guide at at Pompeii, also named Paulo, was also excellent. We had about 2 hours at positano and an hour at amalfi, just as described. Ended up being a private tour with just my family of 4. Overall a great day!

We had a great time on this tour. We were picked up at 7AM at our hotel by our guide Bruno and our driver Marizio. After a quick stop to pick up another family at their hotel we were off to Pompeii. We had a very comfortable van and after a quick stop for a bite for breakfast, we were there. We were introduced to our local expert Pompeii guide and she took us through the ruins. I cannot say enough how valuable having a guide here was. Sure you can walk around and look at stuff but without a guide you wont know what your seeing. We were giving tons of info on everything Pompeii, without being overloaded or bored. Our second stop was the Amalfi coast. I'll warn you now, the ride is not for the faint of heart. The roads are very tight and basically along a cliff the whole way. It didnt bother me but if your a little squeemish be aware. The thing is, unless your going by boat, theres no other way to get there. All that being said, the views are breathtaking and the towns and surrounding areas are gorgeous. After parking, Bruno took us through the towns and we stopped for lunch at a seaside restuarant. The food and the view were amazing. After lunch we did some more browsing through the town and then hopped back in the van for the ride back. Again, its a beautiful but somewhat harrowing ride back up the cliff. When we got to the top we were lucky enough to get a cliffside view of the sunset that made the cliff hanging totally worth it!.We then passed through a top of the mountain town that i didnt get the name of but was really beautifully decorated for Christmas.We then settled in for the ride back and Marizio expertly handled that van like he was driving a Ferrari! In conclusion it was a great day. I think the Amalfi coast could take a que from Cinque Terre and blast through the mountain somewhere so trains can get you there without the cliff hugging car ride. Again, if heights do not bother you its nothing, if they do,just relax with Marizio behind the wheel because its well worth seeing the area. Our next trip there we will definitely go in a little warmer weather and spend a few days to see everything leisurely.

This was a last minute booking which turned out to be an absolute gem!! It turned out to be a private tour just for the two of us. We were met by a lovely gentleman who drove us to Pompei for a private tour with a guide and then on to the Amalfi Coast. The weather was sensational which made the trip magical. The only “cherry on top” would have been if the driver booked a restaurant for lunch on the coast.

We had a private car for our family. The driver, Walter, and assistant, Katrina, were wonderful. She made a reservation for us for lunch in the perfect place with a corner table surrounded by windows to the sea. Our guide, Lilly, was AMAZING!

On December 20 2019 we had the Greatest day trip to Pompeii and Almalfi coast Thanks to our driver Pierpaolo Carloni who was so kind and professional in his driving and explaining the sites as we drove, and than in Pompeii our Guide Margherita was amazing in Her knowledge and explanations. Back on the road along Almalfi coast Pierpaolo made sure we saw every breathtaking turn and site and made sure he took pictures of Molly and I with this amazing scenery. This tour and the whole day was a highlight of our trip. Thank You!!

My Husband and I got picked up by our guide and driver at our hotel.We drove in a lovely van to Pompeii and toured with a private guide who was lovely abc very funny.We then drove to the Amalfi coast and saw Positano and Sorrento and later Amalfi Town.We had a lovely lunch in Positano but didn’t have a lot of options because it was the down season and a lot of shops and restaurants were closed.Food was good and the beach was empty because it was about 40 degrees.The coast was beautiful but I almost had a heart attack driving form the coast and I wasn’t even driving.The only thing I would recommend is that the guide in The car get a microphone because she had a really soft voice and none of could understand what she was saying.

Our driver, Luca, was wonderful and accommodating. We enjoyed the day very much. The drive through the Amalfi Coast was breathtaking. Positano and Amalfi is stunning. Pompeii very interesting

The trip to Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast was a great outing. The private tour in Pompeii was excellent and we wish it had been a bit longer. Weather was great and we had a wonderful lunch on the beach

Our tour host Pau.Mar was courteous, knowledgeable, flexible and the consulate professional from the pickup through the winding mountains along Amalfi. He took us to the BEST restaurant overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. And the sunset on the trip back, was glorious.

The Pompeii tour was amazing.. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable of its history. The tour guide and driver of the van were friendly and attentive. The guide shared the history of the Amalfi Coast along with its heritage, traditions, culture and food. I would highly recommend this tour. The coastal areal view was absolutely beautiful. We did visit early September so the weather was warm to hot and sunny.

We did this excursion with my in-laws and another couple, so it was a group of 6. Alina was the tour assistant and Maurizio the driver. They did picked us promptly on a small van at 7 am. The van was comfortable and since we were 6 we had enough space. Both Alina and Maurizio were great. Alina super nice, big smile and chatty and Maurizio very professional and excellent driver. Before getting to Pompeii, we stopped in a gas station to get coffee and use the restroom. Once in Pompeii, we had a Luciana as a tour guide and a couple of people from other tour joined our group. Luciana did a good job explaining about Pompeii and pointing to interesting things on the buildings. Also, she showed us a lot in the 2 hours that we were there. We asked Alina to give us 10-15 min to use the restroom and shop. Then, we left to Positano. The roads are windy, so if you have motion sickness take dramamine. It also a little nerve wrecking going, since the roads are narrow and sometimes you need to wait for a car or bus to go first and then you go. Thank god for Maurizio, because he took us safely back and forth. Both Amalfi and Positano are gorgeous and we njoyed walking around the towns and taking in the view. Alina also surprised us buying us an Amalfi lemon for each couple :) That was the best! On the way back unfortunately, traffic was horrible since it was the last day of the holiday. It was raining, we saw 3-4 accidents but Maurizio got all of us safely to the hotel. Even though, it was a long day, it was worth it!

We really enjoyed our tour to Pompei and Amalfi Coast. Paolo is an excellent driver and person, he was really nice and gentlemen with us. Then, in Pompei we met Laura, our Pompei tour guide who is really good and we had a lot of fun with her. Thank you, both for make this tour such an amazing experience. It worth it.

We had a great time. Amazing day trip and very prompt pick up from our hotel Morgana. Would have preferred Mercedes van since there were a lot of them versus the Opal van which we drove in. Sorry! I don’t remember the driver and the guide’ names but overall an awesome experience. Thanks,

Tour guide and bus driver were very good and very supportive. The Viator description of the tour indicated it was wheelchair accessible. I have mobility issues. While the guide was as supportive as possible, the tour was not wheel chair accessible.

I booked the tour through Viator ref. 656059140, guided by Giuliana and Marcella. They were so professional that the trip were not only educational to me, it was full of fun, not boring at all. They made me laugh at the right time and the right place. They deserve my 5 stars, if there is 6 stars, I will go for it.

Fantastic tour!!! Marcella and Giuliana were wonderful travel companions and did all they could to create an unforgettable day. I was a solo traveler and was joined by a lovely family of three so it was a small, comfortable group. Our tour guide in Pompeii was kind, professional, and knowledgeable and made our stop there a fun and interesting learning experience. But best of all was the stop in Positano where I shared a delightful lunch in a beautiful seaside cafe with Giuliana - best pasta ever! My husband and I took a day-long tour to Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast. Our tour guide was Giuliana De Angelis. She is the best tour guide we've ever had. She was knowledgeable, professional, and passionate about the beautiful areas we toured. She was also very outgoing and entertaining, which made the long drives to the sites go by more quickly, and spoke English very well. We had another tour guide in Pompeii named Lilli Ripa, who also was excellent. She was professional, knowledgeable, and highly-educated. She spoke English very well and was very patient with all our questions and picture-taking. Our driver Stefano was also nice.

<p>Our tour guides were excellent! Celia and Marcella went above and beyond to make our day wonderful. The local expert in Pompeii was so animated in her description of what happened back then she made you feel like you were there! Worth the drive!</p>

<p>This was a great tour. We ran into some traffic issues, but it was no fault of the tour or guides. Both our driver and guide were very good and helped make the day fun. Be prepared to spend time driving, but enjoy the fact someone else is doing the driving!</p>

<p>Pompeii was the height of this tour. They found a great guide that spoke english very well. She knew so much about Pompeii and really helped illustrate how life was there. The tour was about 2 hours long but that was plenty with the hot weather. The guide knew the perfect spots to stop, the art of explaining before we viewed an area, also she knew how to make sure we stayed cool in the hot weather! The Amalfi coast was beautiful and the drive was amazing. The views alone were great. The driver and the guide that are provided were great to us and gave us plenty of time to look around. The only bad thing I can say is that on the trip back, the Air conditioning in the van wasn't working, which normally isn't a problem except on the hottest week of the year. Other than that, everything was amazing. I would definitely recommend this tour.</p>
