The drive was long but our driver and tour guide JB was great! We stopped in Pisa and had plenty of time for pictures of the sites. Florence was a nice city and has great shopping, but this tour did not allow for a lot of free time unless the people in your small group are on the same page with what they want to do. if you want to spend more time shopping, I would recommend just taking the train to Florence yourself, though. Otherwise this was a great tour.

Itinerary
Enjoy the marvels inside the Piazza dei Miracoli, 4 monuments: The Baptistery (famous for its echo), the Cathedral, the Leaning Tower, the Cemetery. Take a souvenir photo with the background of the leaning Toore that you are holding.
The Pisa Baptistery of St. John (Italian: Battistero di San Giovanni) is a Roman Catholic ecclesiastical building in Pisa, Italy. Construction started in 1152 to replace an older baptistery, and when it was completed in 1363, it became the second building, in chronological order, in the Piazza dei Miracoli. The shape of the building, the material used, the distribution of the interior spaces given by the columns and the space between the two domes make the Baptistery create an incredible effect of acoustic resonance, better known as Echo. The sound spreads throughout the space, like a continuous wave, rising in tonality to the point of suggesting the presence of an angelic choir. Every half hour the Baptistery staff performs a small demonstration for tourists: the effect is not to be missed.
Pisa Cathedral is a medieval Roman Catholic cathedral dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, in the Piazza dei Miracoli in Pisa, Italy. It is a notable example of Romanesque architecture, in particular the style known as Pisan Romanesque
Admire the most famous bell tower in the world from the outside, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, known worldwide for its nearly four-degree lean, the result of an unstable foundation. The tower is situated behind the Pisa Cathedral and is the third oldest structure in the city's Cathedral Square (Piazza del Duomo), after the cathedral and the Pisa Baptistry.
The visit includes the Accademy Gallery where inside is the David, Michelangelo's famous sculpture. Michelangelo’s David at the “Accademia in addition to the work of David, there are also other sculptures and a large collection of paintings by Florentine artists.
The cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore (Visit from outside), with its beautiful dome projected by Brunelleschi, is the cathedral of Florence. Construction began in 1296, Gothic style to a design of Arnolfo di Cambio and was structurally completed by 1436, with the dome designed by Filippo Brunelleschi. The exterior of the basilica is faced with polychrome marble panels in various shades of green and pink, bordered by white, and has an elaborate 19th-century Gothic Revival façade by Emilio De Fabris.
The Baptistery of San Giovanni stands in front of the Cathedral and is the ancient religious and civil center of the city, as well as a masterpiece of Italian Romanesque. It is one of the oldest buildings in the city: it probably dates back to the 5th century, and took on its current appearance in the 11th-12th century. With an octagonal plan, it is covered on the outside with white and green Prato marble with geometric motifs and has an eight-section roof; the decoration was enriched in the 16th century with statues and bas-reliefs. The three gilded bronze doors are the work of Andrea Pisano (south door, built around 1330), and Lorenzo Ghiberti (north, 1402/25 and east, 1425/52). The east door, with Stories from the Old Testament, opens towards the Cathedral and was defined by Michelangelo as the Gates of Paradise; all the doors are copies, the originals are kept in the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo.
Adjacent to the cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore is the Bell Tower designed by Giotto (visit outside). Giotto's Bell Tower is the majestic bell tower of the Cathedral and one of the masterpieces of Italian Gothic. The Bell Tower has a square base of approximately 15 meters per side with corner reinforcements that rise up to the horizontal cantilevered crown located at a height of 84.7 metres.
Piazza della Signoria has been at the center of Florence's political life since the 14th century. The Square has seen important historical events and great triumphs take place, such as the return of the Medici in 1530. The famous sculptures located in Piazza della Signoria have references to the political events of Florence. The David (the original is located in the Accademia Gallery) was created by Michelangelo and positioned in front of Palazzo Vecchio to symbolize the power of the Florentine Republic in contrast with the tyranny of the Medici. Hercules and Cacus (1534) by Bandinelli instead symbolizes the physical power of the family.
Built near a Roman-era crossing, the Ponte Vecchio was until 1218 the only bridge that crossed the Arno in Florence. Above Ponte Vecchio you can see a part of the beautiful Vasari Corridor. This corridor, built in 1565 by Giorgio Vasari, passes just above the goldsmith shops that currently stand on either side of the bridge. Commissioned by the Medici, it allowed them to move from Palazzo Vecchio to Palazzo Pitti without having to cross the streets of Florence, in complete safety. At the time of the construction of the Corridor, the butchers' shops were gathered on the Ponte Vecchio, whose activity probably disturbed the passage of the Medici, who in 1593 had them moved, replacing them with the more "decorous" goldsmith shops.
Piazzale Michelangelo is the most evocative point of Florence. From here you can admire the whole city with its splendid monuments. This square was dedicated to the great Renaissance artist Michelangelo and the copy of David is located in the center of the square next to the four allegories of the Medici Chapels of San Lorenzo.

Agnes was great and very knowledgeable. The trip itself was very rushed. Not a lot of time to actually enjoy the sights. Also the group we were supposed to join up with in Florence was very delayed in their lunch bc they did a sit down steak meal. So our tour guide and Agnes decided to take us to start ours so we didn’t get shorted time that we paid for. We greatly appreciated that but then the entire tour they were having to field calls from the “bosses” about their decision. It added a lot of drama and distraction for them during our tour. Which wasn’t fair to us either.
Juliana was great and our male guide for Florence was superb. He was so knowledgeable and so kind. We needed to walk a little slow and he was great with making that happen and not making us feel bad.
Had an amazing time with Agnes and Paola. Saw all the great sites and did some.shopping (which I thoroughly enjoyed). 5/5 stars!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Florence and Pisa Tour! A wonderful, well-organized tour of Florence and Pisa with Manuel, an excellent guide who was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Informative, enjoyable, and highly recommended! 😊
Great, but very long day. Not much time to look around. The pace is fast the day is long and the bulk of the time is spent on the road.
This was a fast paced tour. Because the drive is so long, there is little time for anything apart from The Leaning Tower ( Pisa) and David (Florence). We were rushed all day, through a morning coffee stop, lunch and the walking tour of Rome. It was disappointing that there was little time ( 20 minutes) to spend time shopping or looking around on our own. It really is a ‘sampler’ tour and not for anyone wanting to enjoy Florence at a leisurely pace. The driver (Fabio) was expert and Narian (leader) were both fabulous and did their best to ensure it was a good day. I wouldn’t recommend this tour for anyone that likes to be in the moment and take time to wander the beautiful streets.
This tour had to be our favorite while we visited Rome. Pick-up at hotel. Small group. Our guide was very knowledgeable when we went to Pisa. So much more there than just a tower. When we went to Florence we had a little free time there before we went with a local guide there. The day started at 630 and we got back just after 8. My wife and I differ in that I would have liked to have had a couple more hours in Florence to look on our own, but she thought that getting back at 10pm or later was too long. Loved all the personal service that our guides and driver offered.
The sites were beautiful but the trip was just ok. We felt very rushed. You should know you will really only get a chance to see David and not much else.
Awesome staff from Amigo tours. Very prompt and professional. Tour bus was clean. Mary Jo was very professional and knowledgeable in all aspects of the tourist attractions and had great restaurant recommendations.
The trip was organized very well and it even though theres a lot of car time, it was so worth it. We had great guides and food recommendation and Florence was so beautiful!!
Awesome trip! Highly recommend. My wife and I had a wonderful time. Would definitely do it again. The local guide was extremely knowledgeable.
Great trip . Had a better trip with welcome Italy. With trip assistant Malak and paulo
This is a good tour if you only want the historical aspects of Florence and Pisa. This is very informational with lots of good opportunities for great pictures. There is no free time for shopping or personal exploring. Out guide Malak was very nice and knowledgeable.
It is a long day. It is a 3- to 4-hour drive from Rome and then back to Rome, but you get to see the major sites in both cities, and we got enough of a feel to know we would like to go back to both.
the pickup was late and no contact or explanation was given. The Guide assistant told us nothing about what we passed on the way, about Pisa and the various parts of the site. Despite there being only 5 people in the tour I found the vehicle cramped and not very comfortable - not what I expected from a small group tour at the high end of the scale. For the price I would have expected that bottled water at least would be provided. The only saving grace was probably the guide in Florence who was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Overall, I found the tour a disappointment.
This excursion involves a long car ride. Two and a half hour to Pisa and then another hour to Florence. The Leaning Tower of Pisa is a sight to see. Also while in Pisa you will see The Baptistery and the Cathedral. It was not stated any where in the tour information that, like the Vatican, your knees and shoulder must be covered. We had worn tank tops and shorts because the weather was very warm, so we had to go to the gift shop and buy scarves!!! After our visit to Pisa, our driver drove us to Florence. We had a lovely lunch in Florence, visited Michelangelo’s David, which was absolutely breathtaking, saw another cathedral and baptistery, went to the Florence’s village square, walked over the Ponte Vecchio. Our final destination was the Piazzale Michelangelo where you can admire the entire city of Florence below. Fantastic picture opportunity!! Our guides, Rikishi (Pisa) and Angelica (Florence) were extremely knowledgeable and share a plethora of fun facts and interesting stories. If you are a person who becomes car sick easily, you may want to avoid this tour. Due to the distance, our driver, Pablo, drove very aggressive, causing many quick stops and starts. From what we have experienced, no different than any other Italian driver except for the distance was far greater. Our only disappointment was we would have liked to have had an hour or so to shop in Florence. Overall, a very good, loooong day!!
What were the downsides, firstly, we were asked to be outside our apartment from 6.30am. We duly were. Our transport arrived at 7.15am so we could have grabbed another 30 minutes in bed. The mini-bus had seats of three in the front and three in the back. We were the last to be collected so had to split between the front and the back. The travel time was in excess of eight hours, thirty minutes. My partner and I could not chat throughout that whole time which was not great. The lunch restaurant in Florence was not so good and not in a very attractive location. Our guide and our driver did the basics but no more than that. Now the positives, we experienced Pisa and the leaning tower, just awesome, we experienced Florence and had a superb local guide there. We saw Michael Angelo’s David, the Cathedral, the house of the Medici’s and the Pont a Vechio bridge. We absolutely experienced everything we wanted to do in just one day. Could it have been better, as a guy that spent twenty years in global events was it as good as it should have been, absolutely not, was the end result worth every penny, yes it was.
My husband and I had a great experience on our full-day Florence and Pisa tour from Rome on Sunday, September 20th. We were celebrating our anniversary and birthdays, so this was a special part of our trip. Manuel was our tour assistant, and we really enjoyed having him with us throughout the day. He was friendly, knowledgeable, easygoing, and shared a lot of interesting information during our travel to both Florence and Pisa. He was also very helpful and was always willing to take photos of us, especially while we were in Pisa. Our driver did a great job as well. He stayed focused on getting us where we needed to be and did his best to keep everything moving throughout such a long day. In Florence, Alice was our tour guide and she was excellent. She was extremely knowledgeable and worked very hard to help our group navigate the crowds and lines. Seeing Michelangelo’s David at the Accademia Gallery was definitely one of the highlights of the day, and Florence itself was absolutely beautiful. We also had a little time to shop and explore. We really enjoyed visiting Pisa as well. We had time to walk around, take photos, and enjoy the area. Manuel also gave us the option of having lunch in either Florence or Pisa, and we ended up enjoying a very nice lunch during the tour. Overall, we had a very good experience and enjoyed seeing so much in one day. Manuel, Alice, and our driver all helped make the day memorable, and we’re glad we chose this tour as part of our celebration in Italy.

It was a beautiful day trip to Piza and Florence. While the cost of meals was not included in the excursion plan, there were stops and time allocated for breakfast and lunch. Imane and Paolo kept us informed and moving throughout the trip.
Don't miss Pisa! Florence is a must. Our guide was great, made the experience more rewarding and informative.
Juliana was great. Very friendly and knowledgeable. She also recommended some great places to eat at. The tour guide in Florence was amazing. I learned so much and she had me hanging on her last words. We couldn't have got there without the driver. Great teamwork 👏. A tour I will never forget.
My friend Jeannie and I thoroughly enjoyed this trip to Florence and Pisa! Manuel was exceptional from the moment he guided us into the van; while he shared history and geography of the region; as he genuinely looked after us to ensure our safety and comfort; and finally until he ensured that we were safely returned “home “. Our tour guide was passionate and extremely knowledgeable of The region and its architecture and . Last but definitely not least, our driver’s skills in such challenging traffic deserves mention as well. Many thanks to all of you.
Our excursion was wonderful. We got to fit in so many things in one day. We were picked up exactly on time and couldn't have been happier with our tour guides - Agnes and Maxentius (sp?) I would definitely recommend!
Nari and Fabio were great guides! Highly recommend this tour. The cities were beautiful and we were able to go at our own pace. Nari knew how to get the best Pisa leaning tower pictures, and Fabio took us to the most beautiful view of Florence. We also had an excellent walking tour / museum experience. No waiting in lines. All admissions paid and arranged for, including toilet fees. Great experience.
My family had a great experience on this full day tour trip. Our driver, Adam, was amazing and our tour guide, Rishi, was both knowledgeable, funny and extremely organized. Our guide knew so much about not just our tour but also about Italy in general which made for a great drive and one of the best days we had in Italy. Our guide in Florence, Ricardo, was also extremely knowledgeable and a wonderful guide. I would highly recommend this trip and our guides.
Long day but so worth it. Pisa was so beautiful and Florence was amazing. Would definitely do it again.
Two great cities to visit in one day. In Pisa we toured the cathedral and baptistry. Had a great lunch in Florence and then took a walking tour with a local expert who was excellent.
Super bummed the day didn’t turn out as planned. Our van had mechanical problems on our way which compounded the exceptionally long 4-hour drive from Rome to Pisa. We waited for alternative transportation which included multiple taxis and a train before finally arriving in Pisa two hours later than expected. That said, our Tour Assistant, JB, was extremely patient and helpful, doing everything he could to alleviate the stress of the situation. Massive kudos to him! I also appreciate that the company provided us a refund for the inconvenience. I looked on the listing and couldn’t find anything that stated the drive to/from Rome was 4-hours long. Perhaps I overlooked that but it’s super important people know how long it is. 8 hours in a minivan is a LOT!
Pisa and Florence were very nice but no time at a ll to walk around and maybe get a few minutes to shop.
We had a wonderfully memorable day! Our experience exploring Pisa and Florence couldn’t be faulted. Everything from pick up, air conditioning luxury car, weather, driver/pilot, and tour guide were amazing! Special shout out to our guide Manuel, whom was friendly, knowledgeable, approachable and helpful.
Had a great time learning the history of Florence and viewing the artwork. Seeing the leaning Tower of Pisa was great. Ana, our guide, was amazing. She kept everything on schedule and answered any questions we had. She even found us the best viewpoints.
I can’t recommend this tour enough! Door to door service . I was greeted by JB and the Driver in the Loby where i was staying. These guys are very profesional and extremely knowledgeable. After leaving Rome we first began with the magnificent Leaning Tower of Pisa, which was even better than we expected. That lean is so much more in real life . Truely amazing to see up close. With plenty of time to take photos and browse for sueveniors. Once finished ,we moved on to Florence, our Guide took us to see the awe-inspiring Statue of David After we all had some much needed food of course. But what truly made the experience special though, was that JB any his driver, took us to hidden local restaurants known only to residents. The food was outstanding—top quality at genuine local prices. The Statue of David was fantastic. A true masterpiece . Hard to belive that it was carved by hand without modern day machines or equipment. No words can explain its timeless poise. Shortly after leaving we stopped for refreshments and to stretch our legs. Every detail was organized perfectly, and it felt more like a personal, family adventure than a typical guided tour. If you want a truly memorable Italian experience, this is the one you need! Thankyou for a lifetime of memorable moments. Regards Dan.
This fantastic trip to Pisa and Florence is designed so you experience both coastal and inland Tuscan countryside and includes thoughtful comfort stops.. Giuseppe, our driver, weaved his way safely through Italian traffic. Thanks for your support Giuseppe! Knowledgeable Anna guided us through the beautiful, the sacred and the unique at the Pisa park.Tell us more Anna! She was also a great help with those crazy Pisa photos. Florence was a travel to Medieval times beginning with a delicious lunch in a calm cool 900+ church restaurant, then a meander through cobblestone narrow streets soaking in old architecture, sacred artworks, the magnificent Duomo and of course the David, both the actual and the replica with the Museim's pre David's and much other famous artworks wonderfully explained by Renata our local guide. The tour was carefully worked so that we travelled through the entire very old town imagining past, vibrant life, seeing the old houses, workshops, churches, 'government ' buildings and Square and ending up at the famous Ponte Vecchio bridge. There was also time to explore on your own and shop for that famous Florence leather. On leaving town the final famous picture spot overlooking all of ancient Florence was superb. Thank you to Welcome Italy for your cool and comfortable car and great trip design. Thank you to Giuseppe and Renata for working so hard. A super special thanks to Anna for her kind and diligent care proving how special private small share group tours can be.
This tour includes quite a bit of travel time in the car but the guide and driver place stops in strategic places to help with that. Ana was a wonderful guide and Renata was amazing as well during our time in Florence. If you want to see both Pisa and Florence then this is a great tour to get the highlight. Seeing and learning about the statue of David was one of our favorite parts of this tour.
Our tour to Pisa and Florence was wonderful. Our guide Agnese was so nice and so very knowledgeable. We had such an amazing time. Not to mention our driver Fabrizio ensured we had a safe travel on the drive. We appreciate both of them for a memorable tour and vacation.
Such a great tour and tons art/history lessons. We loved every second of it! We also learned a lot!!!
Julianna was amazing, so caring and thoughtful, her knowledge was amazing. We were then given another guide in Florence who’s knowledge and passion for her city was outstanding, would definitely recommend this tour the history art and architecture was mind blowing
Our full day private tour was exceptionally led by our Tour Leader, Nariman and conveniently provided by our driver Roberto. They were professional, thoughtful, and accommodating every step of the way. Nariman’s wealth of knowledge and recommendations made the experience personable. The minivan was clean and the AC was perfect. They cultivated a friendly ambiance for the entire family. We recommend the experience, A+!
Excelente! Juliana was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Luis was a great guide. The city main landmarks tour with him was very informative and valuable.
★★★★★ Absolutely the Highlight of Our Trip to Tuscany! I almost canceled this excursion because of the long drive from Rome, and I am so grateful that I didn’t. It ended up being our favorite tour of the entire trip! Our driver, Artur, was outstanding. The ride was smooth, comfortable, and safe, and with a rest stop halfway both to Tuscany and on the return trip, the drive was much easier than expected. Our tour leader, Nariman, made the hours fly by. He is incredibly knowledgeable and shared fascinating history, stories, and fun facts throughout the journey that kept everyone engaged. He also proudly called himself the “best photographer,” and he absolutely lived up to that title! He happily took countless photos for everyone throughout the day and made sure we all had wonderful memories to bring home. Pisa completely exceeded my expectations. Pictures simply do not do it justice. The Piazza dei Miracoli is breathtaking, and every building is stunning. One of the most unforgettable moments was inside the Baptistry when our guide requested a demonstration of its incredible acoustics. A staff member stepped into the center and sang, and hearing her beautiful voice echo throughout the building gave me chills. It was one of the most moving experiences of our entire vacation. Florence was equally amazing. Before we even arrived, Nariman made restaurant reservations for us so we didn’t have to waste our free time waiting for a table. That thoughtful gesture allowed us to enjoy over two hours exploring this incredible city. Our Florence guide, Luis, was fantastic. His passion for Florence, its history, and Michelangelo was obvious in every story he shared. He didn’t just recite facts. He brought the city to life and made us appreciate what we were seeing so much more. The perfect ending to an already incredible day was when Artur drove us up to Piazzale Michelangelo for the panoramic overlook of Florence. Standing there, looking out across the entire city, was absolutely breathtaking and the perfect finale to an unforgettable experience. Thank you to Artur, Nariman, and Luis for creating memories that will last a lifetime. If you’re debating whether this tour is worth the long drive from Rome, don’t hesitate. It was the most memorable excursion of our vacation, and I would book it again in a heartbeat.
Welcome Italy Tour Company is the best. Will use them each time we we be back in town. Fabio and JB were very professional and knowledgeable of the areas they took us; were awesome as they accommodated every request. They are hands down best in the business and highly recommend.
JB and Fabio both made the trip an amazing experience
I had the most amazing small group tour from Rome to Pisa and Florence. Nariman, our guide was fun, engaging, kind, inclusive, and brilliant. Emanuele, our driver, was also very welcoming, a great driver, very observant, engaging, and handled any challenges with ease. I trusted these guys with my life. I would send my kids on the road with them. These gentlemen are such an asset to this company. They made my first trip to Italy so memorable. As a bonus, members of my tour have all become friends. We check in with one another, and have even made plans to meet up to visit in our respective cities. We were able to become friendly with another group on the same tour. Even the guide from that group was so helpful with our group. He made sure we didn’t lag behind or wander off. The restaurant we visited in Florence was so good. I have thought of it often since my return back to Texas. I sure wish I knew the name of it. The guide in Florence was so knowledgeable. My dream of seeing Michelangelo's David was made even better because he was there with us. I would not hesitate to recommend this company and this tour to others! When I return to Italy, I will only use this company.
Our driver, Luigi, should be a NASCAR driver. He drives fast, but very carefully. He is also a great person to hang out with. Very glad to we got to meet him. Our guide, Malak, was amazing! She was very informative and kind. She even gave my wife and daughter a great place to get real authentic leather purses. She was an expert on what we were observing, and continually filled us in with local information. The best part of all, was that 90% of the time, it was just my family, Malak and Luigi. You could not have asked for a better trip. It was worth every penny!
Nariman and Roberto were INCREDIBLE!!! The tour is incredibly long at 14 hours, including 7 hours of drive time, but with these two leading the way, it didn’t feel that way. Nariman is incredibly knowledgeable and hilarious and has a way of brining people together for memories that will last a lifetime. file:///var/mobile/Library/SMS/Attachments/ed/13/46AD1881-BCBE-4C60-B86B-803C5F4491E9/Image-1.jpg
The guide was awesome, he helped me a lot by waiting for me and helping back to the van making sure I was safe Nicholas was very heartwarming caring person, I appreciated the extra help.
The entire day was fabulous . Nariman Giuseppe and Alessandra were amazing guides and driver!! We really enjoyed the entire day.
Although it’s a very long all day with a lot of driving it was well worth the time to see a couple of locations we had never been to while we were staying in Rome.
