Our guide was very informed and knew her history. Very family friendly. Regretfully half of our group could not go because they were exhausted from the heat, etc but we had the full tour. Very personable guide

Capitoline Hill between the Forum and the Campus Martius, is one of the Seven Hills of Rome.
Not much of an introduction is needed for one of the most famous buildings in the world, with groundbreaking architecture built in 27-25 BC and technology that even modern architects don't know how to achieve.
One of the most (if not the most) beautiful and lively roman squares, with the famous Bernini river fountains, wonderful churches and monuments and moreover endless coffee places and restaurants.

Simone was a wonderful and engaging guide! My boys were entertained and loved the scavenger hunt! My Roman history and foodie enthusiast husband was also thoroughly impressed!! The boys loved the gladiator museum and especially the Pizza Rosso snack in the Jewish Ghetto. He had so much information and made the tour and walking fun! We can’t recommend this enough and would do this again!
Simone was super flexible and had good communication. He was very knowledgeable about the city and took us to places that we never would have been to on our own. He was great with the kids and very patient with all of us. When we return to Rome we would book with him again!
Simone was a wonderful tour guide. My children (aged 10, 12 and 14) thought the best of all time and he is definitely the best in Rome. We did many tours and Simone was the highlight of our trip. He was so engaging, getting the kids interested in history and the many secrets and secret places we never would have found. He showed us where to find the most delicious food and told us interesting stories about everything on our “treasure hunt” around Rome and stories about everything we pointed out too. He even taught the kids some Italian. The time flew by and we all thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Book Simone if you can. You won’t regret it.
Our tour of Rome with Simone was fabulous! Simone was a great tour guide! He took us to the best gelato place in Rome and introduced us to Roma pizza!! Both were very delicious. He was great with our kids and very patient. Grazie!
We recently took the Family Friendly Rome City Tour with Simone and had a great experience. Our group included my family of 4 (kids aged 8 & 11) and 2 grandparents. Simone was an excellent guide, using his knowledge of Rome's history and his passion for the city to provide a blend of historical insights and engaging stories that kept both the adults and kids entertained. Since we got in on a redeye the same day, about halfway through the tour, the grandparents opted to do less walking and go their separate way. Simone was very understanding and helped them find a convenient spot to rest. For the rest of us, the tour continued smoothly, and we appreciated Simone's flexibility and attentiveness to our needs. Overall, this tour was a great way to explore some Rome highlights with the family.
We are a family of 4 with two kiddos (11 and 7). Simone was such a wonderful guide and really great with our kids. When we asked our kids there favorite part of Rome, it was the tour with Simone. He was extremely knowledgeable, patient answering the many questions from our son and being a local, he was able to show us things we wouldn't have gotten in a large tour group. The time went by so quickly, and it was well worth the investment. We cannot recommend him enough!
We can’t thank Simone enough for a wonderful tour of Rome. My daughters are 7 and 8 and really enjoyed the tour. It was their first time in Rome and in only 3 hours they saw and learned so much! I was also impressed with the amount of things we managed to see in just one afternoon. Simone knows Rome very well and he was very sweet with our daughters. I would totally recommend this tour! We wish we could have done the Colosseo tour as well with with locals but it was fully booked…book early if you are visiting Rome!
Simone was a wonderful guide. He showed us many interesting places that we certainly would not have found without his direction. Of course the usual sights like the Trevi fountain but he took through ‘open doors’ to surprises inside. We changed our plans midway through the tour due to a family misunderstanding and Simone graciously accommodated our requests. He was great with our 12 year old son, asking him lots of questions and tailoring the conversation to keep his interest in the hot weather! We would definitely recommend Simone.
Simone was the perfect host - engaging, intelligent and great with both adults and kids alike. He clearly has a genuine passion for Rome and knows the city inside out, taking us to places that we wouldn’t normally have spotted in any guide book and providing us with a really educational and fascinating few hours. It’s a long tour with plenty of walking (the kids were angling for a lie down and some A/C by the end!) but well worth it, finishing with a cold beer from an authentic Roman bar in Trastevere. Forza Roma!
Our first afternoon in Rome and what a great introduction! Simone was a fabulous guide, who kept us all interested, even the tired & hot 11 year old and the 13 year old who is mostly obsessed with cars, not history. We asked him to show us the main sites, but with 'his' Rome. We definitely got to see some unusual places, that we never would have without his passion and continuing curiosity for the city he was born in. He gave us some fabulous tips, and tried to find us two of his favourite restaurants in Trastevere for dinner. Unfortunately, they were both closed (where they normally wouldn't be). We would definitely book him again and recommend him to all visitors to Rome.
A wonderful tour with Francesca who is very passionate and knowledgable about Rome. As well as seeing the main sites, she took us to some interesting places off the beaten track too. We were only in Rome for a couple of days and this was a perfect way to make sense of a city that has so much to see.
Simone was a grest guide. He was enthusiastic and clearly loves his job. It was a very warm summer day and he paced the day well and kept my overly active 7 and 3 year olds involved throughout the experience. He also asked questions and catered the experience to what we were interested and stopped at a great local shop fof gelato and beverages. I only wish we weren't flying out on the same day to book other sessions with him.
Somehow Simone managed to get our shy 4 year old to open up and get excited about looking for special monuments around Rome. We started as strangers and ended the tour feeling like best friends. We had such a fantastic time! Highly recommend tours with Simone!
Our family loved Simone. My children are aged 10 and 13. He put up with our family well. We booked him right after landing into Rome. We did not sleep on the plane. Simone was knowledgeable and passionate. My husband was extremely happy with Simone. You can’t go wrong this this guide.
Eleonora was an excellent guide for our tour in German with two kids (12 and 8 years old). She prepared a fantastic tour for us, off the beaten track. Communication was great in English and German, before and during the tour. Eleonora was also happy to help us with any question we had afterwards. She had awesome hints for food and sightseeing. We were able to experience the real Rome thanks to her. Highly recommended!
Had a great near 4 hour tour of the little less commercial areas of Rome with Simone. Took our 5/8/15 yr olds along for the journey and they too enjoyed hearing all about the gladiators and Julius Caesars death! Simone was patient, answering any questions and taught a little kid friendly Italian along the way. Gelato was amazing and the little tales here and there priceless. Would definitely recommend this service to other families.
Our family moved to Rome, and Amandio helped us have a better understanding and appreciation for how to nagivate the city, experience local eats, and appreciate the Ancient City. He was fantastic with our 4 year old son, and did an amazing job engaging him. It is TOTALLY worth it to pay the 22 Euros for an electric bike if he recommends. We saw Sooo much more than we could have by foot. My son got to sit in the seat attached to my bike! We will also probably hire Amandio for his food tour experiences.
We had an amazing custom tour with Amandio that including a wonderful city tour and food tour combined with lots of laughter and bike riding! Amandio helped us rent bikes for our family and we rode around the city taking in sights that we all know and love, but also ones that were new to us! We learned so much! When my kids needed a break, we had coffee and cannolis. Amandio tested the kids knowledge and thinking, which kept my kids asking more and more questions! Don’t be shy about riding bikes, Amandio showed us the way and we felt safe. Don’t hesitate to book right away when you arrive to Rome, it’s a great way to get a feel for the city as you begin to enjoy the wonders of the eternal city!
We had a great time with Elisabetta, she was brilliant with the children and knew Rome and it’s history. I would recommend to anyone!!
Eleonora's tour was such a highlight of our trip. We learned SO much about the city and felt so comfortable with her. The hours flew by and our children were very engaged, sharing all kinds of facts with their grandparents after the tour. Truly the best investment we made. If we're ever back in Rome, we'll definitely book another tour with Eleonora. I can't recommend With Locals and this particular tour guide enough. Thank you!!
Simone was an excellent tour guide throughout, he was great with the kids, asking them questions and answering any they had. We saw the highlights of Rome on the tour and the book which showed what things where like in Roman times was a nice touch to help us all understand! The helpful tips Simone have were a great help for the rest of our holiday too, thanks!
We met with Simone near Piazza Navona on a beautiful December morning. We spent 3 hours wandering the streets around the city being told new and interesting facts about the wonderful city. Any question asked by us was answered and more it was fascinating. Our 9 yr old loved it to. He was also impressed by the pizza slice, tasty local cake and finally the gelato that Simone bought for us. Although we had already seen many of the sights we learnt so much more and had a great time seeing the true Rome. Thanks alot
In a word, Amandio was AMAZING. He kept our kids engaged and entertained while giving us history and culture we would have missed out on without him. We had such a great time with him our first day in Rome (doing a food tasting along with our tour) that our kids begged for more time with him. In our second day with him we were able to see the Pantheon, the Trevi fountain, and the Spanish Steps, with the kids riding on his magic horse/bicycle. Could not recommend him more highly.
I cannot recommend Amandio highly enough for a wonderful, child-friendly tour of Rome. We did a three-hour walk around different neighbourhoods, and some more central areas, of Rome with our two children, aged 10 and 8. Amandio was informative, interesting, passionate and engaging. Our youngest son rode (sat on!) Amandio´s trusty horse (bike) for much of the journey, which made him super happy. Amandio´s tour is a far more interesting, fun and educational way to take in Rome. We learned a lot and our three hours passed very quickly. Amandio took us to a lovely cafe where we enjoyed some beautiful local treats. I strongly suggested you do this tour at the start of your time in Rome. Amandio provides great recommendations for restaurants, museums and other sites which we had wished we had known about earlier in our stay in Rome. My suggestion, therefore, is to do a tour with Amandio as soon as you arrive. Thank you Amandio. Our boys have spoken about you every day since we met. They thought your cheeky narratives about local graffiti were brilliant.
Amandio, I want to thank you for your kindness, your love of Rome, your positive energy, that was able to get our kids to be as excited about our Italy vacation as we had dreamed! For our first day in Rome, Amandio gave us the most incredible orientation tour. A little bit of everything while riding our kids on a Romen horse (his bike). We would highly recommend him for anyone. He's very knowledgeable. Speaks perfect English. And his passion and energy makes the day so much fun.
Lovely tour with Alina - we saw lots of the old city and all loved her stories. Great way to navigate ourselves on our first day. Would love to go for another tour with Alina next time we come to Rome. First experience of With Locals - will be doing more of their tours
Simone has brought real Rome spirit to us and we experienced Rome history in a very knowledgeable, calm and authentic way. I felt like a Romen and it was a privilege to meet a person with Romen blood. Simone has engaged with the children and adults at the same enthusiastic manner. We went through hidden streets of Navona, Jewish quarter and Trastevere. My husband and I will come back to Rome to meet Simone again for other tours. Samuel ( 7 years old) says : Very good history and very good ice cream ! George (4 years old) says: I liked holding Simone hand and trying drinking fountains The Davey family from London
In my son's words (He is 10) : ” best tour in Rome. Amandio knows a lot of history about the stuff.” Amandio suggested we rent bikes which was a fantastic way to visit Rome : we covered a lot of ground, and glided past the walking crowds. Amandio was friendly and careful to ensure his stories were engaging for my son. Everything felt tailored to us. He teaches science to children through theatre and knows very well how to get children's attention. We tasted the best pizza and ice cream ever and generally had and fantastic morning! Highly recommended and will definitely look for local guides on our next city break!
My husband and I wish we could have paid Armandio to walk around with us every day. We learned so much about things we thought we knew. He was fantastic with the children and kept them entertained. We saw hidden paintings and went into buildings we would have walked past, only to be amazed by the inside. I have recommended him to my friends coming in a week and would tell anyone (especially families with kids) to book Armandio as he made all the sightseeing fun and entertaining for all of us!
After a hot and crowded morning at the Vatican, Amandio helped us fall in love with Rome. He was wonderful. He easily glided us around to places we would have never seen and shared so much history and told excellent stories. The kids loved riding on his bicycle! We would tour with Amandio again and again. Don't think twice just book it! You will love Rome with Amandio!
Simone was just what we hoped for and more. He was so fun and my kids (there was 5 of them 14,12,8,7,6) loved him! He kept them engaged and wanting to know more and more. He told us so much history and let us know about some delicious local places to eat, Gelato included. I would recommend him over and over again! He was truly fun and super knowledgeable on Rome's history. I can't wait until he visits California so I can show him the hospitality he showed my family and I. Don't walk run and book Simone! You won't be disappointed!!!
Amandio was the perfect tour guide for our whole family. He was an extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide and our children barely noticed we covered quite a lot of ground on our walking route. A fantastic way to bring the delights of Rome to the kids. Highly recommended.
This was our first time in Rome, and with 2 young boys to entertain (ages 7 and 9). Simone was very engaging and informative and took us on a great walking tour, which was paced just right for us. A true Roma local, Simone was keen to tell us the best places to eat and drink, and took us for a simply amazing gelato! He gave us the perfect introduction to a city that has so much to see and do (and to eat!) it's difficult to know where to start, especially on a short trip.
We met Terry at 10am and it was very soon clear that we were all going to get on like a house on fire! Brilliant! We could not have had a better tour guide to show us a glimpse of Rome. Intelligent, informative and extremely entertaining for an 11, 47 and 50 year old - we all learnt something and had an excellent day with Terry. Thank you Terry! Hope you liked the little appreciation song our family made for you! We wish you all the very best. Jacqueline, Anders and Henry
We loved Gladiators to Gelato, and Amandio was an outstanding tour guide. He didn't just guide us around Rome, he made it feel like we were hanging out. He took us to many places we wouldn't have seen on a regular tour. Instead of huge museums and tourist sites, he brought us to little neighborhoods, playgrounds, and a museum we never would have found otherwise. We learned to drink from the fountains the way Romens do, and had excellent gelato and cannolis. We recommend him very much. Out of five stars, we give him ten! Spoken by Eliana (Age 10) and Nami (Age 7), and written by their dad!
Amandio was a fantastic guide with lots of historical information to share. He was great with our two boys (9 and 11 years) and kindly met us at our apartment (which helped enormously in a new city). He also pushed our son, who was unwell, on his bicycle. Amandio took us to places that we would never have found on our own. After our guided walk, we fell in love with Rome. “It was definitely my highlight of Rome and like a very fun history lesson which bought history to life plus we ate delicious pizza and gelato. I would highly recommend it as great for kids”. Arlo, 11years
We actually book a different tour guide but he had a family problem so couldn't do our tour and recommend Alessandra to us. Alessandra was fantastic! We booked the family tour as we have to small boys aged 5 & 7, she keeped the boys entertained, as well as providing us with her excellent knowledge of her city Rome & took us to some really local places to see. We also got to sample some local snacks & some special treats for the kids. I highly recommend Alessandra, for your family tour as she goes way beyond expectations, thanks to Alessandra we love it...
We loved this tour and our kids had a great time. Having a stroller helped ensure we could do/see everything.
Exploring Rome with Valentina was an absolute job! She showed us hidden jewels in the city, that you will not visit normally in any other tour. She is really knowledgeable and easy going. She went above and beyond to accommodate out needs and interests. She has a bubbly personality that makes the tour very enjoyable. I totally recommend her tour!
We had a great time discovering Rome through the eyes and the stories of Valentina and we highly recommend her tour !
Amandio was delightful, informative, flexible and extremely kid friendly. We did this tour with our 7yo son and from the first moment we met, Amandio was able to connect with him and engage him. He even thought of some useful things to help a 7yo enjoy 3 hours of walking. He took us away from the crowds and gave some great insider advice. I highly recommend Amandio and this tour.
Valentina is a lovely women. My 9 year old son and I really loved our time with her. She was very accommodating and adjusted the tour for my son. She took us to a fabulous coffee and pastry shop. Highly recommend Valentina, she is very knowledable, we thought the tour was well worth the time and money
Words can't say it all how truly amazing Eleonora was. She went above and beyond for our group of 10 and gave us the BEST tour of Rome! She is extremely knowledgeable with the surroundings and history of all the places she took us to. We even hiked up a hill with many, many stairs, but so worth it when we saw what we saw at the top! This tour is highly recommended and Eleonora is also HIGHLY recommended!! I'd totally choose her for our next trip there! :)
We had a great time with Alina, who was friendly, knowledgeable and very accommodating. This tour is a great mix of the main tourist sites and some off the beaten track insights.
Eleonora's intimate knowledge of the history and highlights of Rome coupled with her friendly persona made this experience well worth it for us. Our 3yr old also enjoyed traditional gelato and ended with a good time in a local play ground afterwards and where we planned a few more activities for the rest of our stay in Rome :)
Eleonora was absolutely fantastic, from start to finish! Not only did she have endless patience, but she was able to show us places that I had never seen, and tell me facts that I didn't know. It was my 9-year-old son's first time in Rome, and this tour was the perfect introduction--he can't wait to go back. Highly recommend!
Actually Namibia was planned with tent, now unplanned and a bit skeptical landed in Rome with 3 children (7-12 years). Completely delighted with Eleonora's guidance and the city. Thank you very much. 5 out of 5 stars from all of us for Eleonora
Alina showed us, in a very nice way, with 3 kids (7, 5, 1) in three hours some highlights in Rome. She was super responsive to the boys. Alina knows Rome very well. She gave a lot of historical information without exaggerating, we probably could have asked a lot more. There was also a tasty espresso in one of the oldest coffee bars, very good ice cream - all off the beaten track. Without them, we would have been staring at the phone to find the next target. In the end, our 5 year old had 13,000 steps on his pedometer, was exhausted but not rushed or similar. Highly recommended!
The ROM tour we liked very much as a family. Alina has settled on us very well adjusted and our wishes taken into account. We have been able to gain great information and impressions that are not in any Travel guides stand. The ice cream was especially good (-:
