This was our second Liv Tours experience, and once again, it absolutely lived up to its fantastic reviews! Our guide, Fabio, was fantastic. His enthusiasm, knowledge and storytelling really brought the Colosseum to life — so much so that even our teenager, who has never shown much interest in history, was completely engaged throughout the tour! We’re a family of four and were incredibly lucky that nobody else booked into our time slot, so we ended up with a completely private tour. It made the experience even more enjoyable and allowed Fabio to tailor the tour perfectly to our family. Another huge highlight was gliding through every checkpoint without having to stand in any of the long lines — an absolute lifesaver, especially when travelling with teenagers! Fabio also took some wonderful family photos for us, which will be such a special keepsake from our time in Rome. We chose the Express Tour and found it to be the perfect length and pace for our family. It gave us an amazing experience without becoming overwhelming or too long. We booked the LivTours Express Semi-Private Early Morning Colosseum Tour with Arena Access, and it was absolutely one of the highlights of our trip to Rome! Our guide, Elisabetta, was amazing. From the moment we met her and began waiting to enter, she started sharing fascinating details about the area, the Colosseum’s history, and its renovations. The early morning access was definitely worth it—when we entered the arena, there were only a handful of other people there, which made the experience even more special. Elisabetta is an archaeologist, and her depth of knowledge was incredible. Her English was also very good and she was very easy to understand. I learned so much from her throughout the tour. Her experience also made navigating security, entry, and the multiple checkpoints completely seamless, allowing us to simply enjoy the experience. This was by far my favorite part of our time in Rome. If you’re visiting the Colosseum, I highly recommend this tour—and if you’re fortunate enough to have Elisabetta as your guide, you’re in for a wonderful experience!

Alice is a patient, detailed, and kid-friendly guide! We met at the designated location and walked to the entrance together. Security only took about 5 to 10 minutes to clear. She explained every detail so engagingly to my kids, making it a true highlight of our trip. I strongly recommend this express service—a full 3-hour tour would have been too much for my kids, so this quick option was absolute perfection!

I spent just 18 hours in Rome. My tour with Alexandra ended up being a one-on-one tour and it was seriously the best ever. It was an express one hour tour, which was perfect because I had to catch a train. I learned so much and absolutely adored Alexandra. I would recommend her to everyone. The express tour was perfect for a very hot August day! Our tour guide Andy (Andrew) was a wonderful well of knowledge about the history of the site! He was able to answer questions from both adults and kids (!) with insight and humor. Truly a great tour and didn’t feel like anything was missed!

This was an absolutely incredible experience! I honestly can't recommend it enough! ​A quick heads-up: the meeting point was a little tricky to figure out at first if you're not familiar with navigating Rome, but once you arrive, it all makes complete sense. Just make sure to give yourself plenty of time and look for the giant Subway Line B signs where the subway actually. And make sure to go up the escalator inside the subway station. ​But from there, everything was absolute perfection! Our guide Chiara (aka Whisky) was fantastic! She was so knowledgeable, patient, and clearly an expert on all things Roman history. Walking along real ancient Roman roads, exploring historic houses, and soaking in all that history was such a treat, plus there were endless gorgeous photo ops. ​When we got to the Colosseum, our guide made the whole process effortless. Despite the big crowds, she seamlessly navigated us through and made sure to keep us in the shade whenever possible. We learned so much about the history, evolution, and usage of the Colosseum! ​The 3-hour length was the absolute sweet spot and it didn't feel too long or too short. Just make sure to wear great walking shoes, because you'll definitely be getting your steps in!

Just to clarify, this tour was booked directly through LivTours. It was officially: The Best of Colosseum & Ancient Rome With Exclusive Arena Access | Semi-Private Tour. As my first solo trip, I couldn’t have asked for anything better from Liv! With other companies booking up to 25 in a tour, this was a max of 6 people! Valentina was not only knowledgeable, but funny and engaging! You could tell she loved what she did and was enthusiastic throughout. It made it all the more exciting to experience history.

The Colosseum tour was excellent and very interesting. Bruno is an incredibly knowledgeable guide and does a great job explaining the history. He also always makes sure everyone has a good spot and a great view during the tour. The only small downside—though not really a bad thing—is that there’s a stop at the Colosseum gift shop. Overall, I highly recommend this tour!
