This was our first time in Rome and hopefully not our last! Alex Paolini met us at the port in a new Mercedes SUV and drove us into Rome. He was fluent in English and talked about history along the way. We really wanted to tour both the Vatican and Coliseum in the 8 hours we had so we purchased skip the line tickets from Viator ahead of time. We knew that was a lofty goal as our cruise line didn’t offer an excursion that included entering both sites. Not only did Alex get us to where we needed to be at our ticket entry times but he added some additional stops along the way and even surprised us with Trevi fountain tickets so we could view it up front as it was very crowded. Alex always dropped us off as close as possible to our stops so we did not waste time walking. When we were ready to continue on our way he was always easy to locate as his communication using texting was very clear. We saw so many amazing sites between our scheduled tours and even had time for a sit down Italian lunch! What an amazing day thanks to Alex for helping make our dreams come true! I would highly recommend booking with him as he provided a very professional service.

Our driver was very knowledgeable, almost as much as a guide. We were able to see all the highlights in a day, and it was the perfect balance of time in the car and time out to see the exterior of all the major sites. Definitely worth the money if you only have one day and want to make the most of your time. The vehicle was also very nice, and the driver even provided us with umbrellas.

Our driver, Alex, was amazing from pick up to drop off. He shared stories as we drove to Rome (1.5 hour drive). He was pleasant, funny and knowledgeable. He knew exactly where to drop us off for bathroom stops. We spent several hours at the Vatican, then he allowed us to see many tourist spots in a short amount of time by dropping us off close and picking us right back up. He reserved the best lunch spot (Insalata Ricca). He had everything planned out and got us back to our port in a safe, timely manner. We will definitely book a tour with him in the future when we return to Rome and highly recommend his services!!! The Best Rome Driver definitely live up to their name!

This review is long overdue. Our driver for the day was Peter and he was amazing! He was already waiting for us at the cruise ship when we disembarked. I had been to Rome before and Peter taught me some new things and showed my daughter and I some really cool spots! I wanted to tour the Borghese and my daughter wanted to go inside the Colosseum. Best Rome Driver took care of securing all our tickets and getting us to our destinations on time. Peter even recommended a really awesome spot for lunch. Best pasta of my life! It was such a joy chatting with Peter and learning more about Rome but also learning about his life and family. Alessandro was our tour guide and driver. He was very articulate, friendly, knowledgeable, polite and helpful. He handled the traffic well, considering all of the crazy drivers we never felt unsafe, and even made our lunch reservation. We had a private tour of Rome on an exceptionally hot day, but overall our experience was fantastic. Our driver and guide Stefano was fantastic! Very knowledgeable and was very flexible with our plans (with it being so hot and having two small children we needed to deviate from our original plans). Stefano never missed a beat, was efficient in getting us around the city, and recommended a charming (and delicious!) restaurant for lunch. We had an amazing day in Rome. Beatrice was our guide and was exceptional throughout the day in showing us so much of the history and beautiful architecture throughout the city. Our family consisted of my husband, 2 sons (both young adults under 22) and myself. Our time in Rome was short, we came 2 days prior to embarking on a cruise. We could have spent weeks in Rome alone and, so going in we knew one day would only give us a glimpse. What we didn’t expect was how much Beatrice would bring that glimpse to life. She didn’t just point things out, she gave us real context, stories, and details that made every stop feel meaningful. You could tell she genuinely loves this city, and that came through in everything she shared. She was incredibly kind, patient with our many questions, and made sure everyone in our group felt included. We can’t recommend this experience enough.

Alex Paolini was a great tour guide and driver. Our car was brand new and clean and he had water waiting for us along with pre-purchase Trevi fountain tickets so that we did not have to wait in line. He was able to rearrange our schedule so that we could enjoy the trip with teenagers. My kids had a fantastic time. He sent us easy GPS instructions to be able to find him and he maneuvered thru traffic and a bike tour that was blocking all the major roads and we never felt stressed and he never made us feel rushed. He recommended a great place for lunch that was air-conditioned and the food was incredible. I would definitely recommend this trip for any large family who does not want to walk from place to place and enjoy Rome in a day.

Alex Paolini was our driver and tour guide. He was excellent! This was an excellent tour that was at our own pace. While it says 8 hours it can be shorter if you wish depending on how long you want to spend at each stop. We were not at all rushed and took our time and still finished early which was welcomed after spending all week in Europe touring. This is a perfect tour you have a limited time in Rome like us and want to see as much as you can while not running around trying to get taxi/walking. I would highly recommend this especially if you can get Alex as your driver/tour guide!

What a lovely first impression of Rome! Our tour guide, Alex Paolini, not only was at the airport to pick us up in a very comfortable van, but he also provided us with fresh Italian pastries and bottled water. He was so fun to spend the day with as he showed us around the city and sent us out on short visits to many of the key sites. He even provided us with the tickets to get to the Trevi Fountain so that we didn’t have to wait in line. To end our tour, Alex took us to a wonderful restaurant for lunch on our own and then helped us maneuver our way to our hotel for a much needed rest!
