My husband and I got mixed into the French speaking group. One of the guides called out and the guide had to explain everything in English and French. The tour was not scary as described in the description and was just a walking tour. The time dedicated to the Capcuhin Crypt was only 30 minutes which is not enough time to listen to the audio and see everything. Also, the space in the Crypt is small and the day we went it was very crowded. My husband and I had to rush through to meet our group. The tour does not included admission to the Patheon and Fountain or Trevi. The guide was trying her best managing two tour groups and providing the history of the places we visited. However, the price of what you pay for the tour is not worth it.
Highly recommend this tour! For my birthday I was looking for a different type of tour that focused more on the dark tales or myths associated with monuments, people, and places. This tour was the perfect balance of real history and all the dark lore! Shout out to our tour guide Sophia who went above and beyond!! She was very knowledgeable and kept it fun. She even showed us an extra spot at the end of tour which ended up being one of my favorites. 10/10!!
More a crypt and architecture tour but still great and informative! Our tour guide was very sweet and went out of her way to show us around.
My last visit to Rome with my wife was around 2007-ish, and back then we only did the Vatican and the Colosseum, and I felt that there could be not much more to do. Was in Rome for my wifes birthday weekend, and with her birthday on the 31st of October (Halloween) I was looking for something to do that was a little spooky and on the "unusual" side. Looking around this tour ticked all the boxes, and had no issue booking it. Our guide for the tour was Estefi, and she was waiting for us when we arrived at the meeting point (and kept us updated on Whatsapp on her location). The first part of the tour you are taken to the near by church of Santa Maria della Concezione dei Cappuccini, which is a church of the Capuchin order. Here the guide leaves you for 45 minutes after giving you your tickets, and you can walk through the church museum and then taken into the crypt, which is WOW!!!!! Days after we did this tour, when we did others the guides would ask people what else they had seen, and when I mentioned this, it kind of got a look of disgust on the faces of other tourists, while the guide would come to life and go "wow, you have been there, its really cool isn't it?".... so certainly gave us a chance to see one of the best hidden gems in Rome off the tourist track. After this its a walk through the city, taking in some great sites, but most of all, when we got to the Trevi Fountain, Estefi took us to the best spot to get a photo taken, and we have some amazing photos to look back on. Estefi can be a little slow to get going, but once she does start there is no stopping her and she really brought the city to life for us, and was a great introduction to Rome for us that was away from all the usual stuff you automatically think about when you picture Rome.
Though chillingly morbid, the exhibition was still artistically mesmerizing. Our guide was also an artist, and she blended her knowledge of art with the history of the Capuchin monks.
I had such an awesome time with my tour guide, Sarah, she was super knowledgeable, fun and a really great storyteller! 10000% would recommend!!!
Our guide was fantastic and the crypt was the absolute highlight, online photos don’t do this justice at all. You absolutely must experience this for yourself!
This tour was amazing and the company is sooo awesome. I accidentally forgot to change the date when booking and booked this tour a month before we were going to rome. Viator wasnt able to change it when i notice 24 hours after booking because the tour was within 24 hours. Out of desperation I messaged the company themselves and they agreed to switch the date for me. Our tour guide was amazing she provided not only ghost stories but also general history of rome. She also went out of her way to stop at a church because we wanted to see a painting. Cant say enough good things about the company or our guide
We were very extremely dissatisfied with this tour. Our guide was late and only stayed with us for just over an hour and a half. The crypt tour was dry and didn’t include any information we wouldn’t have learned on our own reading posted signs. The “ghost tour” of the city included no scary facts or any new or unique information and was just a walk past some overly busy tourist attractions, no additional information or spooky info. We were looking forward to giving our kids a unique look into Rome’s dark past and instead we had a guide who spoke very little and didn’t create an engaging tour at all. We did many tours on our trip and this is the only one that fell short. I would not recommend to anyone. Too bad we were looking forward to this one the most after other ghost tours in other cities.
Was meant to go on the tour yesterday, spent €20 on a cab to the meeting point and spent 25 mins waiting for the tour guide, just for them to not turn up. Asked around the other tour guides and they had no clue who this company was, therefore I wouldn’t suggest booking with this company. We had to call up the company to find out what was happening for them to make up a story that our guide had been in a car accident on the way to the meeting location and had to have a full refund as they did not have another tour guide available. Was very disappointed as by the time we got off the phone we were not able to do any other tours.
Great tour! Fabiana was very knowledgeable of the history and architecture of the buildings. Loved every moment of it!!
Fabiana was an exceptional tour guide, knowledgeable about the city's history and the architecture. We had very little time in Rome to see the sights, but this tour really hit the most interesting spots in a well-timed tour, taking place later in the day when it was not at peak temperatures. We were able to see the Capuchin Friar's catacombs, the outside of the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, and so much more.
Estephania, our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about all the stops on the tour. She was also full of local recommendations and insights to make our visit to Rome memorable. She did a great job interpreting the meaning of the Capuchin crypts.
Gabriella was a wonderful guide who kept us intrigued with the gossip of Rome. Definitely not scary as it is sort of portrayed, but it was a great way to see the city at night with the safety of a tour guide.
I went on 5 tours in Italy, Emilio was easily the best guide. Incredibly informative and entertaining, a true local who not only knew the tour but was able to ad lib jokes, answer questions, and keep the information rolling even in the little bit of traffic between sites. I would take a tour of a parking lot with Emilio. The sites themselves were very unique, providing plenty of food for thought and giving perspective on life.
The Crypts were beautiful and our guide Sarah made the experience memorable. She shared both historical stories and ghost stories as we walked through the streets of Rome. A wonderful experience.
Tour guide Sarah was energetic, interesting and provided great information. Highly recommend this tour.
Interesting history and a great way to have a guided tour and see some sights! The catacombs are something else. This tour isn’t super spooky (other than the sight of the bones). Would be appropriate for mature teens, perhaps not children. Definitely a wild look at the past.
It was informative and it lasted longer than 2h. Maybe even 3h?! Frincasco was kind and funny. I would only say its a bit pricy for what you get. I
Excellent tour! Our guide Sara was amazing and her depth of knowledge made the tour an absolute standout. Highly recommended!
Turned out to be a solo tour as nobody else showed up. The guide was very knowledgeable, but the issue was the tour locations. We got through the crypts in about 25 minutes, and then walked to the Pantheon. I was expecting a “spooky, eerie” experience , and this was definitely not like that at all. At least the guide was knowledgeable 🤷
This was a great tour. The tourguide Alma was very enthusiastic, has great charisma and was very knowledgable witht the legends of the town and the spooky places around.
Sarah was great fun and very knowledgeable, we enjoyed it so much we returned there today to visit the crypt ( we arrived late and it was closed) and the Pantheon. I learnt so much about architecture and art styles. Thank you Sarah!
What a fun and interesting time. Fascinating information about the The Capuchin Crypt then going into the true heart of Rome listening about ghost story's. Our guide was fabulous!
Camilla (our guide) was fantastic. Super knowledgeable, went at our pace and was happy to share stories about some extra places we passed along the way.
What a great time and Joe was amazing tour guide ! Amazing history and sites. Joe was very personable and informative….
Great tour! Our guide was Giuseppe and he did a great job sharing history and stories while showing us some great spots around the city! The crypt is WEIRD. So weird. But it was excellent.
Was hoping for haunting stories /darker stories as advertised but only talked a bit about the crypts and the architecture of 2 of the 3 stops. In fact didn't even complete what was advertised and stopped at the fountains an not the Angelo castle. Our guide was very knowledgable on the buildings and history just not what was advertised and expected from the description. Our guide was very knowledgable about the buildings and history of those buildings but once again did not cover what this tour was going for.
Inside the capuchin crypt was INCREDIBLE! You can’t take pictures inside the crypts but it’s truly both creepy and beautiful. Our guide was super fun and had lots of interesting stories. My fiancé doesn’t even like spooky/ghost stuff but this was one of his favorite tours on our trip in Italy! It’s a lot of walking and you only go in the capuchin crypt, everything else you just stand outside, but we got so much info and stories it was totally worth it! We went on our last night in Italy and it was the perfect end to our trip in the beautiful city of Rome.
Our tour guide was fantastic I think her name was Gabby, made sure everyone was able to hear her at all times, helped me find a bathroom before the tour started. She had many fun legends and ghost stories to share. The crypt is so fascinating and disturbing at the same time. Highly recommend!
We enjoyed the knowledgable guide and the various site visited. The crypt was obviously the main attraction and it was very interesting to see, even a bit creapy!!! All other sites were also interesting and the guide told us many little known stories of Rome.
Our tour guide was awesome! Fun and informative! Family of 5 with kids 11-18. Everyone had a great time. The bones are so neat.
Fabulous tour. Highly recommend. Tour guide was very knowledgeable. We had a lot of fun. Great day was had by all.
Very great ghost tour ! Our guide had many intersting stories from differents places in Roma. If you like legends, bones and to have goosebumps you need to discover this other face of the city thanks to this tour. This one which begins before the dusk - in june - but you can return on the places by night for more chills ;)
We had Juan as a guide for the haunted Rome tour and he was very knowledgable and friendly and delivered a great tour. The Capuchin crypts was by far the best part of this tour and worth it for that alone.
This tour showed me places I hadn’t seen before in Rome, including the Il Convento dei Cappuccini, which walks you through a crypt with human bones! Our tour guide Gaby was excellent; she told spooky legends about ancient Romans and gave great context to the historic sites. The tour was roughly 2 hours, and we visited about 4 locations.
Gabi was great! She told us lots of the interesting lore behind some of the most iconic ancient buildings.
Very enjoyable! Not much of a ghost tour; mainly history, but still enjoyable! Tour guide was excellent and very informative.
It was an absolutely brilliant tour with an excellent guide! She made it even more interesting by being really vibrant and enthusiastic about it and add a few extras herself! Even my 14 year old was very impressed with the tour!
Catherine (Cat) was amazing she had such a wealth of knowledge of all things Rome. It began to rain and she made sure we were still able to see everything. She kept checking in with us To make sure we still wanted to go in in spite of the hard rain. We were 2 couples and one their couple so just 3 couples total. Cat was American so easy to understand.
Juan was a very entertaining tour guide, lots of interesting stories and we saw far more sights than expected. Would recommend but be prepared for a fair bit of walking!
Great tour guide! We really enjoyed the crypt and all of our guide's scary stories. Would highly recommend.
The tour was really interesting, there was loads of history with some cool ghost stories; the crypt of the Capuchin monks was definitely a highlight. And our tour guide was lovely! Had a really great time!
Found the tour not as informative as others in Rome/Sorrento - did not feel the guide was really knowledgeable/interested.
This was a fun experience. We picked for the bone church and Caravaggio. :) It was creepy cool. Nice history on some lesser known stuff. It was a nice tour. We ended at the castle and walked after to the Vatican and Trevi Fountain for some night views.
The highlight of this tour for my family was right in the beginning, the Capuchin Crypt. Breath taking, eery, and unique. There is even a painting by Caravaggio before you enter the crypt! Nicely timed, at 2 hours long, this was a well done walking tour. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Capuchin Crypt was very Interesting. Wouldn't call this a haunted tour really but some nice stories along the way. Gabriella was a good guide.
Casual, informative and fun. Our guide was full of interesting facts, ghostly stories and history that you never knew about!
This was my favorite tour that I went on while in Rome. Our tour guide, Marinelly, was amazing and extremely knowledgeable. She was very familiar with the city and gave us restaurant and shopping recommendations. She had an awesome sense of humour and palpable excitement over the subject matter.
