Elisa was over-the-top knowledgeable. Full of delightful and shocking stories and historical tidbits and grand history. She delivered them well and was so skilled in the details of the rooms and their contents. She answered all our questions with ease. The treat of visiting the underground rooms was so eye-opening and unique. Well worth the expenditure. I recommend her highly!

Elisa was a fantastic guide. One of the better tours we’ve taken. She did a great job making it entertaining for both us and our 18. She learned early that we didn’t mind hearing some off color stories and that really lightened the whole tone of the tour. But she also really knew her stuff - she used to be in archaeology so has a real grasp of what is on the site. The underground portion was fascinating and a real Change from the usual tour up top. Can’t recommend this tour enough.

This was a magnificent tour, and according to our amazing Guide, Elisa, entry is limited to 50 people. As a mechanical engineer, getting to see the underground system was so incredible. Having an archaeologist guiding the tour was just perfect. Even after all that going across the way to the Forum and Palatine Hill with her was also outstanding and she told us about discoveries that she had made over the years. It was a perfect day, and then she topped it off with an excellent recommendation for lunch. 100% yes!

Roma Experience. Eliza was our private guide. She was so knowledgeable about the history of the area that made our experience so wonderful. We skipped every line and we were able to enjoy our time there. Felt like we saw everything and then some!

We had a full day tour of the Colosseum Underground and The Vatican with Elisa and we cannot say enough to describe how wonderful the day was. She brought history to life and shared so much interesting information. We are a family of 5 - 2 adults and 3 teenagers and each of us walked away so impressed and hoping to return again soon for another tour with Elisa. We highly recommend booking! 5 stars for sure.

Just returned from our four day trip to Rome with our two grandchildren ages 12 and 15. Every activity was meticulously curated by Elisa and specifically tailored to the grandchildren. The Colosseum tour was extra special as Elisa was able to get tickets to the underground workings of the Colosseum. Our Sistine Chapel tour was outstanding. Visiting an art restoration studio and a private tour of the catacombs were truly memorable. Every guide and driver were knowledgeable and professional and interacted beautifully with the children. I highly recommend this wonderful luxury tour company.

The underground of the Colosseum has to be seen to be believed. The technology and architecture of the time is amazing. To see the pits the tunnels the lifts and the cages is a memory I will always treasure. The forum was spectacular the remains and the stories told by our guide were brilliant. I would highly recommend to anyone. Fantastic time and day out.

It was me, my husband, and our two daughters (10 and 17), and we had such a great time. Marta was a fantastic storyteller—engaging, knowledgeable, and thoughtful throughout. She was mindful of the heat, making sure we stayed in the shade and took water breaks often. She connected well with both our younger and older daughter and made the experience enjoyable for all of us. Marta was kind, authentic, and truly made the tour special!

Elisa was an outstanding guide. She is an actual archeologist that has worked on the Forum grounds. She is extremely informed on the history of Rome, Palantine Hill and the Colosseum. She was able to secure tickets for going through the underground of the Colosseum, which was fascinating. We could talk to her all day and love it. I highly recommend requesting her and doing a private tour. Absolutely worth it!

We had a wonderful time with Elisa, who toured us around the colosseum, its underground, and the Roman forum! We started in the colosseum and went into the underground (which is not actually underground for the most part, the floor of the colosseum/roof of the underground is gone). Elisa was incredibly knowledgeable and had a lot in inside information due to her doctorate and extensive time doing archeology inside the forum. Highly recommend this tour to get the whole picture on the colosseum!

Loved the tour! Was amazing and informative, Elisa was very knowledgeable and answered our questions excellently. She has a deep love for the subject and we definitely could tell from her sharing — from the history of the Roman Forum and Colosseum to the excavation methods used to uncover these ruins! She also wasn’t too rushed and gave us ample time to take photos — she even helped to take a few for us! I would highly recommend her for anyone looking for an informative yet easy-to-digest tour.

Andrea was an amazing guide full of information! He whisked us past crowds and lines and made sure we saw everything there was to see. I’d been to Colosseum before and still learned so much. We also got to see some newly opened areas on the Roman Forum and spent some time on ground level as well. Took lots of pics of us at the best spots which was great - no need for selfies. Very enjoyable morning.

Amazing tour with Elisa. Well worth it, especially if you love history and/or archeology. Elisa is highly educated, knowledgable, as well as engrossing, entertaining and an absolute joy to learn from and be led by. We were able to go deep into the colosseum, into places very few will ever see. We were also able to make adjustments as we went along, based on what we were most interested in seeing and learning about. It was great passing by the masses of tourists and heading into spaces that had no crowds, seeing things few get to see. I am so happy we did this tour. You will be too!

The Underground addition to the colosseum is wonderful! Luca Romano is awesome! He is so knowledgeable and listens to your interests and needs. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire tour. He even gave us suggestions for eating.

Our guide, Elisa made this tour so memorable. Tour maybe expensive but having an archeologist with first hand research experience was worth the extra. Seeing the Colosseum from underground, the tunnel thru which the gladiators enter the area, the areas and wooden cage and pulley system to bring animals into arena made such a visual impression. In addition, the history of Ancient Rome on Palatine Hill and Roman Forum is overwhelming to read but having an expert provide a live storytelling manner was meaningful.

Elisa - was awesome. I unknowingly booked a total private tour, my wife and I thinking it was a small group. Elisa is a wealth of knowledge, and made it so much fun. She is wickedly smart. She spent sooo much time with us in the Colosseum and we got to go underground which was a must for me. The Colosseum is the focus here but Palatine Hill and the Forum are fantastic. You want to skip the line...you want to go with Elisa. Trust me, the money is one thing - the time you save and the experience are well worth it. Word of advice - small groups are better whatever tour you pick. Don't go in a larger sized tour.

The tour wasn't cheap, but I'm a big ancient Roman history buff and decided to try it out. Our tour guide, Elisa, wasn't just someone with knowledge of the area...she is an ARCHEOLOGIST who works the area. We were blown away by the depth of knowledge she has, and my only regret is not preparing more questions for her (thought we were just getting a run of the mill tour). Anything I asked she had a detailed answer with even more interesting bits I never had heard about it. Great tour. Highly recommended.

What an amazing experience! Our guide Andrea was so knowledgeable, professional, and friendly…his background is in art history and he gave us such a great appreciation for the architecture and culture of the time when the Colosseum was a thriving part of Rome. The underground private tour was fantastic…being able to see where the gladiators and animals waited and the world below the action. Only so many people are allowed down there per day so was truly a special experience. This tour is worth every penny, especially when there are so many people visiting the Colosseum, Palatine Hill and the Forum.

5 stars! Elisa's knowledge passion for history is clear, and she is a former archeologist. If you're going to spend 3-4 hours together, it may as well be fun too! She loves questions, and weaves together the story of the buildings, the politics, the people, and geography together so well. She can cover the standard Q&A of course, but she also was able to discuss the Roman society, the conquest of Egypt, Cleopatra, the extravagance of the emperors, if Nero really did fiddle while Rome burnt, and why the emperors usually didn't survive too long.

Elisa opened our eyes to the history of Ancient Rome. She is an expert in her field and passionate about the history she shared. With her depth of knowledge, she paired so many stories with the sites we visited. Elisa tailored the tour to our 10 and 15 year old children and managed to keep us all engaged and fascinated. We have toured many cities with numerous guides over the years and Roma Experience is the absolute best!

We did a private tour with Elisa and she absolutely wonderful- engaging and insightful and we left with an extended knowledge of the sites. Our kids (11&12) absolutely loved the tour and said it was a highlight of a long trip through France and Italy. We have already re-watched Gladiator looking for the things we now know to be either true or false! A truly exceptional experience and I can't recommend doing this tour highly enough.

It is hard to overstate how delightful of a time we had with Elisa, our wonderful tour guide. She was knowledgeable and friendly and happy to answer the questions that we posed to her throughout our time together. I booked this tour on a recommendation from my wife who was lucky enough to work with Elisa last fall. My brother and I were traveling as a pair to celebrate his birthday and he was most interested in the Colosseum and its history. The private tour was great - we met outside Palazzo Manfredi, a short walk away from the amphitheater, and Elisa gave us some background information as we walked towards the structure. It was apparently, immediately, how knowledgeable she was about the subject at hand. I was incredibly impressed by the amount of information she was able to convey without making it overwhelming. I also really enjoyed the 3d reconstructions she presented to us on an iPad that she carried with her. We entered the Colosseum and were treated to a wonderful tour of the main floor, the underground, the arena level, and the second story. After leaving the Colosseum, we walked to the Palatine Hill and learned about the homes of the Roman emperors before moving on to the Roman Forum where Elisa distilled the essence of Roman life to us. I was particularly impressed when she described the excavation she did inside the forum and what she found - I won't spoil the secret as you should book with her to find out. In all, I 100% recommend Elisa and Roma Experience for your tour needs. I genuinely am not sure how our day could have been better.

Our guide was Ellie, a PHD Archeologist that has worked actively in Rome and Cairo. Her knowledge of the Colloseum, the Forum and the Palatine was priceless. Her expertise on the subject and the level of detail that she is instructed was really incredible and captivating.

We toured in September 2019. Our tour name was 'Colosseum Experience: With Roman Forum and Palatine Hill'. Our guide was Maria Libera. The tour was excellent - only the two of us were there with Maria and she was fabulous. Maria was friendly, knowledgeable and engaging throughout. Always checking that we were seeing what we wanted to, learning what was of interest, and drinking enough water! The tour could not be better and we highly, highly recommend it.

Our group of 4 did the 8:30 am private tour of Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum. We were contacted a day prior to our excursion via email to confirm our tour; additional we received a call asked us if we would mind moving our tour to 9 am, which we happily agreed to (we had just arrived in Rome the day prior). We arrived on time and quickly located our guide. It was fantastic to skip the lines and walk right in (the lines were insane). Our guide was very friendly and informative - she even shared with us all of the plants and fruits that could be consumed along the way (very impressive). The tour started and ended promptly and she recommended a local restaurant where we could enjoy some Roman cuisine! We would highly recommend the private tour option. p.s. I also highly recommend taking the morning tour to avoid some of the crowds in the venues!

We had Alissa (spelling?). She was amazing!! This tour was very worth while. She was not only extremely friendly but also very knowledgeable. Obviously, you cannot see everything in 4 hours, but she made sure we could see as much as possible in the time frame and had great detailed knowledge and stories of ancient Rome. She was also funny. I highly recommend😁.

We did this tour and the Vatican museums & Sistine chapel tours. Both were excellent and the guides very informative and knowledgeable. We also loved the small group size as well. Highly recommended

I’m not much of a history buff, but my husband wanted to do this tour & so I booked tickets, not knowing what to expect. Well, I loved it! Our guide was an archeologist & brought all of Ancient Rome to life for us. She was a fantastic storyteller, very knowledgeable & friendly. Although we covered a lot of ground (literally & metaphorically), she was energetic, focused & kept us engaged throughout. Without a guide I don’t think you get a full understanding of the history, so it’s money well spent. 5 stars!

Our guide, Andrea was so knowledgeable about the history of these structures. He engaged the kids on the tour with trivia and photos that brought all the history to life. I was so interested in all the little side bits of history and fun anecdotes. I highly recommend this tour and definitely Andrea for sure!

My family went on 18th October at 8:30 AM on the 4 hour Colosseum Underground Tour incl. Palatine Hill and Forum Romanum. The group max was 24 people but we were only 11. It was a very interesting tour and we had the most wonderful, inspiring, kind and funny guide with us. Her English language was easy to understand (almost no Italian dialect). We booked via Get Your Guide and were to be honest a little bit worried about using the tour operator Roma Experience Tour, as they had/have only 6 ratings on Get Your Guide's website (however 6 top ratings). But all of us 4 (incl. our 13 year old girl) were very happy with our guide and we are just so sorry that we didn't get her name :-( She didn't promote her name and encouraged the group to rate her specifically as I from my own experience believe it is common to do in the guiding business. In my mind that just underlines her true professionalism. Though expensive, I can recommend this underground tour, our lovely guide and hence Roma Experience Tours.

I'm really glad we did the tour our guide had so much inforamtion and provided the information in a way that we can really visualize what it must have been like to be there.

Our group was small not more than 12 and there were 6 of us. Vincenzo was so knowledgeable and he took time to answer our questions. He has been doing this for 18 years so you're getting a tour guide who is VERY informative. I was so happy with Roma Experience Tours, even though we paid a bit more we didn't have to wait in line, we were able to walk right in, and when you see how long those lines are you'd be happy you did this too. I would highly recommend them.

Our guide was perfect. He framed everything in context of history, knowledge of ancient Roman life, and the sites we were visiting. He painted a picture in our minds of how life in Rome was and showed us details about how amazing the engineering was in the construction of the city and buildings we were seeing. It is well worth the money and would recommend any other visitor to take advantage of the tours especially the small group tour.

My Wife and I took this tour recently and are totally happy with the content and the Guide we had for the tour. Anyone would be amazed at the story of Rome, Palatine Hill, The Forum and of course the Colloseum but to have been part of a small group of 12 with such a knowledgeable guide in Ariana we were very happy. Arianna our guide was excellent and is certainly one of the best guides we have had the pleasure of meeting. The only negatives are when waiting for entry to the Collosseum there is no shade which is not fun on a hot Rome day. Be sure to take a hat! Highly recommended tour, Guide and Company.
