Disappointed, I had booked 8.45 am timed colosseum entrance, when we met up in the morning I was told we had to go to the forum first and that our entrance to the colosseum was at 11am ,not what I paid for

Do not book with this company. Was an awful experience. I had paid for Rome colosseum entrance with arena floor as extra, it has palatine hill and Roman forum included and also I picked the options with audio to guide you through. The instructions on where to meet are in a park but one person met us at a the gate to a park - gave us 4 maps in Italian, rushed through the explanation - circled a few points on the map where to go (the colosseum is soooo busy so this approach is not helpful at all). What they also do not tell you is that they book you a time to go into colosseum which we did not select - they booked us 12:30 which was the busiest part of the day and I had booked for 10am start. The audio was awful - have to download an app, then download the content which kept crashing then once we had done that it wasn’t a guide - it was random sections about different things but it didn’t guide you through the sections at all. To top it all off - we did get into the colosseum at 12:30 only to find they had then not added the arena floor part to our ticket. I messaged and called and they were so unhelpful. Just said yes, sorry looks like not added so will refund you €20 euros each. Which is unhelpful when we were already stood in the colosseum and unable to do a part of the trip we really wanted to do and had paid for. This has not been refunded and I have not been contacted as to how this will be refunded so feel I will be scammed again. Please avoid this tour operator and go with a guided tour or someone else. I have requested a full refund as this experience was so bad.

My experience with both trip advisor and tour operator has been extremely bad. Firstly, my trip was cancelled nearly last minute without any explanation. And as much as it says money will be refunded within seven days but it's over two weeks and I still have not received my refund. There is no proper contact either to follow up. Feels like a scam.

BEWARE! We booked Colosseum tickets with Arena access for two adults and paid $97.42. Our confirmation email clearly stated a 9:45 AM start time, which we verified the night before. We arrived at 9:20 AM, only to be told the time had been changed to 8:45 AM without any notification. We were denied entry, forced to wait in a long ticket line, and had to purchase new tickets for 1:00 PM. Arena access was sold out, so we never received the experience we originally paid for. This wasted valuable vacation time and disrupted our day in Rome. Customer service refused to provide a refund, despite the scheduling error and our having followed the original confirmation. We paid for a service we could not use as booked and had to pay again to enter. This experience was extremely frustrating and unacceptable. The failure to notify customers of a time change, followed by refusing a refund, raises serious concerns about this company's business practices. BE AWARE before booking! Keep your confirmation emails and think carefully before trusting this provider. We would not recommend this service based on our experience.

To say I’m disappointed is an understatement. I booked an evening Small Group with a guide and access to the colosseum and arena floor. A few days before, I received a message via WhatsApp notifying me that the tour would now take place at 5p due to “operational issues”. The day before the tour, the company messaged me via WhatsApp again and asked if I’d like to join the 4p guided tour of the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. I responded we would love to join. Fast forward to 20 minutes before our scheduled tour. We get to the meeting point, find the employee with the company sign and start to check in. After no less than 5 minutes of her shuffling through her papers, she hands us our tickets. I notice that the check-in time on the ticket is 5:20p. I ask about it and she says that is what the time is so I have to be there then. Then she tells me it’s self guided and shows me her phone to download and pay for an audio guide. Thinking I will just make the most of it, I start heading to the Roman Forum and check my ticket again. It says Arena floor only. I message the company “Tour the Best” and get no response. I reach out to Get Your Guide who I booked the tour through and they respond immediately. They reach out to “Tour the Best” and then the company reaches out to me and tells me there was no guide because “due to a health issue the guide had to stop the tour unexpectedly”. The tour hadn’t started. Now I’m thinking I got scammed. Since Get Your Guide reached out to them is the only reason they responded to me. This was my last day in Rome and I was extremely upset that this tour was messed up and it seemed like “Tour the Best” was trying to scam me. I ended up getting a full refund for my tour but was not able to see the majority of the Colosseum and had no guide.

Terrible from start to finish. We had to try and locate the guide to validate the tickets on the day. Address provided takes you to a restaurant which isn't the location. Make sure you read the small print in confirmation as it's not clear that the barcode provided isn't the ticket. We got our tickets which were provided by "Tour the best". No where near the best. Collected tickets then walked 15 minutes back to the colosseum and queued to enter only to discover the one of the tickets had been printed with the incorrect name. We could not enter the colosseum. After walking back to find the guide from "Tour the best" we were told there was nothing they could do and tried to blame me for not checking the ticket. I had entered the correct names when I booked. All I was offered was a refund. No help to try and book at a different time or day. There were no tickets available for me to book online either. We were then sent to the ticket office at the colosseum by the guide and told we could purchase there. We couldn't. We only had 2 days in Rome and the only reason we went was to see the colosseum. They completely ruined our break and we had no help from either "tour the best" or couldn't reach anyone from trip advisor. AVOID AT ALL COST.

We went with the Self Guided/Audio only option. Basically $100 for an app you download. Save your money and buy the entrance ticket directly from the Coliseum and get information off the internet.

Extremely disappointed with the handling of this & missed out on my planded & expectation for the day NO tour because wasn’t told where to pickup my ticket in advance & it didn’t leave enough time to get to the box office. As it had expired. In future please give 24 hours notice of the meeting point. Not happy Anthony Smart

Do not buy from this company! We were unable to enter the Colosseum, even though we had purchased tickets in advance. Our tickets included access to the Arena for September 27th. The company informed us that our visit was cancelled due to the Colosseum closing—which was the first piece of false information, as the Colosseum was operating without restrictions. They insisted we accept the cancellation, sending messages via WhatsApp and occasionally email; in both instances, we stated that we did not accept the cancellation. Unfortunately, when we arrived, there were no tickets for our entry. It was incredibly frustrating; you plan a trip months in advance, imagining moments of joy and awe while visiting the historic Colosseum in Rome, only for nothing to happen when the time comes—all due to the sheer incompetence of an irresponsible company that shows no regard for its customers and fails to provide even a truthful explanation. They kept shifting the blame to the booking site Get Your Guide and did nothing to resolve the issue. They stopped responding to us and vanished from the designated meeting point, leaving us without tickets and without answers. All they said was to request a refund, and nothing else. Do not buy from this company.

The ticket to the colosseum and arena is legitimate, and not a scam like some of the reviews previously noted. The pick up was a little confusing because the directions in viator said look for a “Tour the best” sign, but the actual company you need to look for is something different (the company was very responsive to help me find the right person when I called). The biggest annoyance was that I booked a 9am “tour” and my actual ticketed entrance was not until 12pm. I was able to go to the forum before but that only takes 1-2 hours so I ended up basically sitting around waiting for my entrance time which was frustrating after waking up early. If you have lots of time and need a last minute ticket this is a decent option, but you need to be willing to wait around and roll with the punches because the communication is lackluster at best.

Very disappointed in the communication with this trip. Meeting location was NOT well documented. An address was given yet it was a public park. We spent 35 minutes trying to find the person we were supposed to meet. No markings. Just a random person sitting on the ground in a public park. Beyond frustrated with ticket redemption. I’d rather book direct through site or a more valid booking site.

Finding the meeting spot & the tour company was very easy. We showed our voucher & were given our entry tickets. A simple process. We chose unguided entry into the Colosseum including the arena floor (a must) plus the Forum & Palatine Hill Supersites. This was the right choice for us as we prefer not to be herded along in group tours. And we could take a leisurely lunch break after the Colosseum then move on to the Forum etc later on. It was an excellent day out. And a tip … go as early as possible to beat the heat, big crowds & groups.

Excellent tour, only wish it had been longer. Administration and pick up went very well smoothly. Guide was very informative and supportive. Tickets allowed entrance to the Forum and Palatine Hill. All in all a very pleasant experience.

The fact that you have to travel to collect the ticket is poor. You should receive your ticket online when you book and not have to roam around looking for your ticket.

Was exactly what we were looking for but we had a very difficult time finding the meeting place. While the girl was very pleasant, a simple “we are outside the Oppio Park gate, directly across the street from the Oppio Caffe” would have been much easier.

So much to see in a short time possibly better with a guide rather than audio but was ok

I would not recommend the tour company. I booked 8 tours the week I was in Italy and all of them proactively communicated and were so helpful to ensure are tours were great except this company. They changed the time of my tour which I was happy with as going early in the day made more sense. The other tour company offered this and only did it if I confirmed. This tour company just sent an email the day BEFORE telling me the time changed. I signed up for a 2-3 hour Combo tour of the Colosseum and San Clemente Underground and that was listed as such on the tour operater's sheet, however was sent to the Colosseum for 75 minutes instead. When I asked me tour guide about the 2nd part of the tour, she was confused and told me she had to take me back to the tour operater to find out. Because I waited with her, then had to aruge with the tour operater for 20. minutes, we lost our opportunity to attend the San Clemente portion because the church closes at 12:30. With only 1 day in Rome, we hoped the tour company would be better organized. We spent $415 for the tour for 3 people for a small group. This was not cheap and I expected to get to see the sights I booked. I also would mention the tour operater was not helpful and I had an issue finding her in the morning too. I was not aware she was waiting in a park across from the coffee shop.

Paid £52 each for tickets and once we met guy at park he handed us 2 printed off tickets with €24 each and he pointed us to entrance 1 ..so basically got charged £28 each to print off 2 paper tickets we could of bought at the gate for €24 !!!

We paid for the "all-in" experience & got our money's worth; the audio was informative & allowed us to go at our own pace. There was a lot to learn! Yes there is security & multiple checks of your ticket but once you're through that's it. We were there about 2 hours. It was very sunny the day we visited & very hot too! Make sure you bring your fans or you can grab a bottle of water from the vending machine on the 2nd floor. Beware the very steep steps between floors so they're not for the faint hearted! The arena itself is incredible & it was amazing to be where history was made.

It wasn’t in our instructions, but make sure you arrive at least 15 minutes earlier than the time you booked. Once you get your ticket and actually go to the Colosseum & get in line, it’s still a bit chaotic & not 100% clear where you need to be or go…. But I’m not sure less chaos is possible with the number of visitors

Sadly the audio didn’t download so I missed out on having all the historical facts, which was disappointing. I think that the company representative should have made sure that everything was working. Otherwise the Colosseum as a historical sight is definitely worth visiting.

Very very poor organisation. Our tour was booked for 8.45am, received email day before saying it would be 10.30am instead…… not ideal with children but we accommodated this change. Turned up at 10.15am to collect our tickets to be told the tour was at 12.45pm and we were to tour some other areas before we could go to the Colosseum. This did not work for us due to having small children and also another activity in the afternoon but there was no flexibility, meaning our tour was 4hours later than what we paid for. We ended up wasting time in the morning, doing a very quick tour of Colosseum in midday heat followed by a quick dash to our next activity. I would not use this provider again :-(

I liked this experience with Lucy she was a prepared guide that guide us inside the archeological museum of the colosseum.

I did a tour of the colosseum with my friends with teddy it was a fantastic experience, recommended to do!

Showed up to meeting spot and was told they did not have our reservation. Gave the owner Rochella all of the confirmation number on the reservation and she said she had found it but could not honor the reservation and asked if we could come back another day. We could not, she told us we would have to buy tickets at the ticket booth and she would have a tor guide give us a " short" tour. We agreed after Roshella agreed to refund the full amount. She only refunded a partial amount so now I am having to file a credit card dispute to get the rest of the money

Beautiful tour!! And what made it even more exciting was my excellent guide, Dinu!! Very detailed and clear in his explanations. Polite and super kind!! Trust him, without a doubt😊

Beautiful formidable guides kind and ready for Every need

The person who greeted us saw that we were wandering around there and didn't even come over to ask. We thought someone would at least walk us to the door but just instructions and that was it. We were a little lost in the forum and when you passed by again the playback started again.

The visit could not take place because the person was not to be found where we would have received our tickets.
