Martinella carries a strong passion for history and storytelling. She is vibrant, interesting, and resilient (the tour carried on for 2 hours and 15 minutes)! It was much of a blast from the past as I was suddenly reminded of all of the things I learned in high school about the Roman Empire, Julius Caesar, Romulus and Remus, etc. I just love history and appreciated the personal opinions expressed from time to time.
The tour was laid back yet very informative. It covers multiple significant sites at a pace that does not feel rushed
This excursion should be in your top 5 things to do in Rome. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, answered all our questions, great story teller, very animated with multiple expressions, gave a lot of eye contact to ensure that everyone was engaged, always looked for a place for us to rest while she told us the history of Rome and most of all she was not only on time but a 1/2 early to the excursion.
Ivan was an extraordinarily intelligent, funny, charming, and stylish guide. Thanks for a beautifully relaxed introduction to ancient Rome.
There was a down pour of rain and the guide continued the journey even though persons from the group were struggling to keep up with him. My partner is 61 and we couldnt keep up with the guide. He was just walking too fast...some of the group got left behind and he couldn't be bothered as he never stopped outside of the stops by the monuments.
Michel was an amazing guide. He shared so much interesting knowledge about Rome and you could tell he was passionate about doing so. Highly recommend.
Jakob was a really good Guide! Very interesting and great story telling, great recommendations and very friendly👍 would recommend!
Jacopo was amazing. He gave us thousands of years of history in just one evening. He wove in stories with the history and kept it ever interesting, even for our 11 year old granddaughter. Would very highly recommend.
The tour guide Ivan was very knowledgeable about the history of all places we visited. Would highly recommend this tour in Rome.
It was amazing, Jacob is wise about Roman history. It was interesting and I enjoyed the tour very much.
Tour was wonderful. Guide was good. He waited while others took pictures. Very patient with those that took their time and didn't speak english.
Really good walk around the city with a knowledgeable tour guy
Ivan was outstanding. His knowledge combined with his prescence and willingness to clarify or expand as the group wanted on Romes history, with all its nuances, saw the two hours fly by. Really wish we had made the kids go!
Ivan was a really informative guide, we learned loads and saw some iconic sights
We couldn’t find the office to pick up our tickets so never went. We did get a message from the tour guide we were supposed to have met and he was doing his best to help.
Jacob is really knowledgeable and he patiently answered all our questions. I definitely recommend him as a tour-guide.
Julia was a fantastic tour guide, extremely knowledgeable and extremely caring about the people on the tour. In my group was an elderly couple and she made sure at any point they were ok especially with the steep stairs and heat. She was able to answer every question she was asked. Defiantly do this tour, very comprehensive and worth every penny.
Wonderful tour, the guide was very young but well informed about all the sites that we visited and gave the group very detailed explanations about everything without resulting boring, he also took us through the whole history of the roman empire with a nice sense of humor and he managed to keep the vibe very lighthearted, i really recommend joining this tour!
Iris is awesome...she made the experience exactly what we hoped it would be.
Excellent tour. Ivan was an amazing guide and really brought ancient Roman history alive with information, anecdotes, humor & his own insights. The timing of sunset is perfect! Highly recommended.
our guide was Ivan, very nice, clear, accurate, full of facts and information, you can see that he is in love with what he is talking about. An extremely pleasant walk!
We had a blast with this walking tour ! To my surprise, the guide was barely 20 and a true representative of Gen Alpha at least when it comes to language and speaking style. But in spite of his youth , he went down to produce a ton of historically, accurate facts, and packaged them nicely and entertainingly for a crowd which I can only imagine is used to very fast delivery of information. Not stuffy at all. My child was never bored. I also saw the other young people being very engaged. The only thing that bother me is that he kept calling me, “Madame”, which I am, but that’s not his business:). I would highly recommend the tour, especially to younger generations. You will not be bored to believe me. And maybe you will learn something. Gave the guide ( Ivan) a generous tip! I would’ve gone to other tours with him that I had availabilities. I mean, he definitely tried to come up with something new, keeping it still funny but PG I only had to cover my ‘s ears once ( just kidding, we all know we’re talking about Roman emperors there). The site is truly amazing especially at sunset. We have the best photos of the Roman forum with the sun setting in the background.. will remain one of my greatest memories from this visit!
They treat you like a person! Thanks Alexandra! We could not walk the entire distance so she showed us where to meet up with the tour later to see the Coloseum, one of our bucket list places!
Be warned! Company can change locations without notice! Totally stripped us of colosseum experience - because of them we weren’t able to get in
Our tour guide Ivan was awesome! Very friendly and knowledgeable about Rome. We learned a lot. Would highly recommend!
Christian was my tour guide for Ancient Rome and he is the best tour guide I ever had. Very knowledgeable and very kind.
Loved the tour with Jacopo. He was super knowledgeable, friendly, passionate, entertaining, and even shared a bunch of other recommendations for our trip afterward 😊
Our guide Jacopo accomplished a herculean task in providing a clear narrative of the history of Rome in two hours. The tour was not only informative but also pedagogically sound; the style was personal and funny; involvement of the audience and questions were allowed. 5/5
Wonderful host who was energetic and knowledgeable. Allowed questions and was extremely informative. Excellent foundation tour to begin your Rome adventure!
A thoroughly enjoyable and incisive two hours spent with our guide Stiven. Much recommended
I booked this tour for 6:00 pm on June 8 for my family of 4. On June 7 at 4:17 pm, there was a What’s App message from Nicolette (written in a foreign language) stating to confirm my tour for the next day. Because we were quite busy with other commitments, I did not see the message immediately. About 70 minutes later, Nicollet writes to tell me she canceled the tour. I see an email from Viator showing it was canceled and to expect a refund. I then go to What’s App and inquire and Nicolette tells me that it is my fault because I did not respond to her. She gave me 70 minutes to respond? I have booked other tours w Viator and have never had to confirm via What’s App and especially not within a 70-minute window. I questioned Nicollet further and there was no solution. Trying to book an alternative tour less than 24-hours in advance for the colosseum was impossible. Huge disappointment.
It was so great knowledge of history and stores with expressions presented by Ivan.
5 out of 5 walking tour! So informative, humorous and interesting!! Loved our guide also! He had short curly ginger hair - I didn’t jot down his name and now I’m elsewhere on our travels but he was WONDERFUL!
Christian Ricci was a great guide- knowledgeable and funny. This tour was an excellent choice for those tho want a value oriented option, those who want to avoid the heat and crowds, and those who want to walk a little less than the typical 3 hour comprehensive tour of these areas. I had taken a 3.5 hour tour about 10 days prior with a private group and it was great, but I knew my teenage history buff wouldn’t love the heat and crowds. This was perfect for her. Christian was awesome. Tip him well.
What a great tour! Christian was amazing and knowledgeable and seeing these sights at night was fantastic. Highly recommend this tour to others.
Christian was absolutely amazing! He is so knowledgeable, loves his country and loves Italy. Born and raised in this beautiful city. He definitely takes you back in time to give the history on how it all got started. He answered every question that was asked. He knows his history, hands down. The best money I spent on a tour, better than the Vatican tour we took during our visit and spent way more and received was less. You will not be disappointed at all!!! Do it, take the tour and ask for Christian.
Christian was a top tour guide, providing detail and historical insight throughout our walk. Highly recommend this tour and guide!
It was a lovely tour, our guide Ivan was excellent, very knowledgeable and interesting. We had such a great time!
Christian was a great guide. Very informative
Simona was a great guide!!! He was really nice and extremely knowledgeable!!!! Highly recommend! Must to anyone who wants an in depth understanding of the Roman empire.
This was a great tour of the major sights of Ancient Rome. We loved how Ivan, our tour guide, weaved in different periods of history based on the actual parts of the ancient ruins we were seeing. The storytelling was great and the walk was easy to do and engaging throughout.
Jacob was our guide and he was excellent! The walking night tour at the Colosseum was perfect. Small group and no crowded streets.
One of the best walking tours I've ever taken! Christian was so knowledgeable about all the sites! He is from Roma, so you can tell he actually cares about the information that's being provided! He's extremely knowledgeable, threw a little humor in here and there and was a very pleasant to listen to and tour Roma with! I highly recommend this tour and next time I come back to Roma I will book this tour again! Thanks for a great experience!!
Christina was excellent. Her sense of humor was an added bonus. her knowledge and ability to pass the crowds and make everything interesting was incredible.
Our guide, Christian, was awesome! 100% recommend if you are interested in learning more about the history of the Colosseum and Forum. Nighttime was great to avoid the heat and crowds.
Loved the tour. Jacopo was very knowledgeable and friendly. Above all, the tour was executed with a coherent story while staying true to the facts. We ended up booking two more trips with Jacopo.
Jacobo was very knowledgeable in all the famous monuments and places we went to. He was patient and very friendly with us and the whole group. Definitely would recommend if you want to see some famous places! Thank you Jacobo
