Castel Sant'angelo E-ticket & Multilingual Audio Guide

Rather boring audioguide, we stopped listening to it during the tour. STILL: You need some sort of information about the place, because without that, you're lost... especially as there are no explanation signs. Better overviews could be provided. More languages could also be added for the kids audio guide (only Italian and English were available). The stations with numbers for the audio guide weren't always aligning in order, so a route with arrows showing where to go next would be convenient. The exposition in the middle about Pompeii was a bit random and there was no context, although it was interesting. Nice view from the top though...

Castel was amazing. Operator was accommodating and sent me the tickets and audio guide hours before our time to arrive. Great time!

Wonderful visit and GREAT company to work with!!! Quick responses to any questions. Being able to skip the long lines with my elderly mother was perfect.

The provider of these tickets, Clio Muse Tours, sold us tickets for day that was a national holiday when all museums are free of charge for all people. We entered free with hundreds of other people and had to pay for the audio guide. Clio Muse Tours was of no help on that day and has never answered my inquiries.

No tickets were ever sent (only a voucher for the tickets, which was not accepted) was sent. We did get the audio tour, however, which was so absolutely awful that we turned it off. My booking, handled through Clio Tours, was cancelled as we stood in line. We had to wait in line for 25 minutes in the blazing sun (no covering whatsoever), to buy new tickets. Also, the fact that customers have to wade through email after email and webpage after webpage to find what they need is maddening. I never had this issue with TripAdvisor before, so it must be new or a Clio issue. NEVER AGAIN.

Loved the views of the city of Rome! We learned about the history of the castle and its connection with the Vatican.

Tickets were easy, received them the day before. Entry was no issues and there was no line for entry. If you pay for any form of skip line, you are likely eating your money. Audio guide, as others have stated is useless. Mine was out of sync within 2 mins of entry. It asked me to pause and look for a landmark to continue and I never saw it even though I followed the path it requested, to the letter. I ended up giving up. The place itself has great views, but that's about it.

Easy booking but just as easy to book on official site. Castle was great worth seeing - go early in summer as it it hot!

The views were marvelous. Buy there were insufficient numbers of swords according to my husband. I however had a wonderful time. The rooms were beautiful and the signs were very descriptive.

I booked a timed entry to the castle. It was confusing where to go. I stood in line apparently with untimed guests. I am not completely clueless and can speak some Italian and can read more. I paid for an audioguide. Once my ticket was scanned, I was sent one direction. I soon realized I had been sent away from the audioguide pickup point. It was still a nice visit, and this is a great site to see. But I lost 8€ value and lost some knowledge about the place with sloppiness.

This is a brilliant way to access the Castel. We had to queue for a little while but go in within 5 minutes, this may be longer in higher season. We did have an issue in the first place with us not receiving the email with the tickets on for us to be able to access the castel. However, a quick call to the number provided and she emailed the tickets there and then, even hung on the line while i checked i had them and was able to access the Castel. Cannot recommend enough

Positives- castle and views are superb. Tickets and app easy to download. Negatives- audio guide does not suit the actual tour of the castle. It’s almost like the narrator hasn’t ever been to the castle. The audio didn’t tie in with the layout of the castle which made it confusing. Very disappointing and not worth the money.

Great history. Only bad thing was the audio didn't match the numbers on the exhibits, and it was hard to follow. The views were breathtaking, and the information was good. Just didn't match up.

Castle Saint Angelo is amazing and I highly recommend visiting it with a skip the line entry. The audio tour we purchased had great information on sites in the Castle but did not have specific directions for getting from one site to the next. We found ourselves happening upon rooms after the commentary because we were not directed to a specific location. Also the map and “path” given do not match the current flow of traffic allowed in the castle or the directions given on the tour.

Informative trip and experience. Skipped the queue. We could keep our own pace to admire architectures and explored the place even lot of walking and upstairs or downstairs. Audio guide was informative. Had a great view of the city. Worth a visit.

The self guided tour was fine, but we had a problem getting the audio part of the tour to work. In fact we never got it to work so ended up paying for something we never used.

We decided to get the skip the line ticket I really think is worth it. We visited at our own pace. Please keep in mind is a lot of walking up and down the steps. But everything is worth when you get at the top of the castle and see the best views of Rome.

When I clicked on “get tickets” in the app, it said “Oops! We’re sorry, an error has occurred” and I could not get the tickets or find anyone from the tour company. I’ll be asking for a refund.

Awesome place to visit. Ticket was emailed before the experience and was used without any issues at the entrance (and skipped the line for other people buying tickets at the door which was ideal!). Great experience - would highly recommend.

Straight in with the skip-the-line tickets which were delivered electronically the day before. The guide gave clear instructions as to where you were and what audio was relevant. Castel Sant'Angelo is well worth a visit - interesting and informative - even if you're not a history buff.

The audio was helpful to give context to what I was seeing. I especially appreciated the numerous reminders to download the audio while I had WiFi and prior to getting to the site.

It took us over an hour just to figure out how to download this ticket. We never got the audio to work. The sight was fantastic but don’t use this vendor to purchase the ticket. We went about two hours before close and easily could have walked in and purchased a ticket. Great place. Had a roof top bar for a drink at tend of tour.

Location is worth seeing but not with this download. Unlike so many audio tours which clearly label each area so you know you are in the correct place, this location doesn’t do that and we had a really difficult time get audio to match what we were seeing.

Must visit the castle. The audio was close but about 80% accurate. Not lot is open bit the top of the castle view is very worth it. Need to make it known that this is a third party via Viator. You have to download tickets and was only available to us the day before. Audio also.

No audio guide available,but the tickets shows it include the audio guide. Also Difficult to redeem.

An interesting castle. We went without a guide so just enjoyed the architecture and we were able to read some of the history.

Terrible from beginning to end. After downloading the Clio Muse Tours app, the tickets was with different name and we try to contact support, that never answer. There was no support from Clio Muse Tours, NEVER. We not recommend this tour.

After I booked the ticket i received all the information from the agent about how to get the ticket, how to enter the Castle and how to download the audio guide. Everything went well.

Easy self guided tour. Would recommend downloading the app for the audio before going. They will send instructions via email before going. There’s also a cute terrace cafe at the tour with amazing views.

This castle has a bloody history. It is interesting to see where the Pope lived and hear of its history. Be sure to get a drink and bite to eat in the restaurant. It is a nice way to spend an evening - but be aware that they stop serving food around 4pm and then offer very limited items. Great view from the top of the castle.

Incredible trip. Really a romantic city and lots to do. Highly recommend. Happy we came. Will visit again. My wife and I felt it was a great trip!

Audio simply isn’t worth the money as it only covers the exterior if the building with no commentary on the interior at all.

We were not able to use the tickets, there is no audio tour at the castle. We had to buy tickets there we will be reaching out for a refund.

For a first-time visitor like myself, this experience was a delight. Breathtaking views and great destination to visit! The audio tour was engaging, and we loved the narration!

These guys blend technology with history! Convenient audio, had it at my pace, took breaks, and listened to some parts again after leaving the site. The Castel Sant'Angelo was such a beautiful experience and is a must-visit site!
