Good to get away from the City centre lovely setting, great staff, easy pick up.
Very nice experience on the Albano lake. You can book online your kayak and explore in total freedom the lake, or you can ask for a guided experience. Efficient and professional. Highly recommended
Great experience, beautiful lake Chrystal clear water, great scenery. Dario is a fantastic tour guide, and informed us about the local buildings etc. Our family from Australia had fun in the great outdoors.
Absolutely wonderful experience! Valerio made it so special with fun banter and facts about the lake and surrounding buildings. Perfect lunch and able to kayak at your own pace. Probably the best thing we have done on our Italian vacation.
Dario was a very nice guide and told us some interesting things about the lake and the surroundings. The briefing was very helpful and he really put an effort to make it an enjoyable tour. And it was! The lake is beautiful and we got a chance to swim. I can really recommend it.
Absolutely amazing experience, beautiful scenery and the perfect getaway when visiting Rome
Kayaking on Lake Albano below the Pope's summer palace at the end of August was magical. We organised our trip through Getyourguide. We got picked up and dropped off at the closest underground station. We were given instructions how to kayak, put on our life jackets and set off in a group. Our guides Miguel and Enrico were great: expert kayakers and encouraging to nervous guests. They took us to a quiet spot for a pizza lunch and a swim, and told us about the lake. I would definitely recommend this activity. Do bring sandals or swimming shoes as the black sand gets very hot
FLAVIO!!! Best tour guide we could have asked for. He was so cool, interested in where we came from and what we had planned next. Shared some funny moments and really amazing history about Lago Albano. Really cool to hear about the cars also (you’ll have to do this to find out what I mean) !!! From Alex and Kat
Michael was an amazing guide, time spent well!
This was a truly wonderful way to cap off a two-week vacation! The guides made sure the pickup was easy and seamless. They remained friendly and professional throughout the trip and were extremely knowledgeable, not only about kayaking but also about the lake and its history. The guides were excellent at working with people of various experience levels and showed great patience. They were personable and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire experience. The views were absolutely spectacular. For a mere 30-minute train ride from Rome, it was an excellent way to escape the heat. The water was incredibly clear and wonderfully refreshing. We enjoyed a good, long swim and afterwards, we had a traditional Roman snack: pizza. Water and waterproof bags for your belongings were generously provided. Anything you choose to leave behind will be completely secure. Both single and double kayaks available. I strongly suggest you bring your swimsuit and a towel. If you have fair skin, be sure to pack sunscreen and a hat. The entire tour, from the time we were picked up at the metro station to when we were dropped off at the same location lasted about 5 hours, which was an amazing value for the cost. I absolutely recommend this tour! Beat the heat, step off the beaten path, and try something different. You won't regret it.
We had such a lovely afternoon as a family on this activity. It don’t feel rushed at all and despite my wife’s anxieties it never once felt unsafe. We were tired by the time we got back but for all the right reasons. Interesting to hear a little about the history of the lake. We were ripped off by the taxi company that took us to the meeting point and with the benefit of hindsight it is so easy to catch a metro from Rome’s Termini to the Anagnina Meteo Station - this is where they’ll meet you and drop you off.. so cheap and simple. Our hosts were so friendly but if I could offer a suggestion, the pizza is quite heavy before you paddle back, and perhaps a roll or sandwich might be another option. This is not intended as a criticism though
Italy is hot in August, very hot! A day of kayaking at this beautiful lake was the perfect way to end our 2 week tour of Italy. The guides were very courteous and professional and gave a great history lesson on the lake. The train/bus station where we were picked up looked sketchy, but everything else was a very good experience.
It was a very nice tour near Rome. Our guide Flavio was very kind and knowledgeable of the lake’s history. Recommended tour.
This is a wonderful way to cool off during a city break, especially in the hot summer months. The area is stunning and offers beautiful views of Castel Gandolfo. Our guides, Enrico and Valerio, were excellent—polite, helpful, and very knowledgeable. They explained everything clearly and shared plenty of interesting information with us. This was my second time booking this tour, and I would highly recommend it to anyone!
We had a great time kayaking with them on Lake Albano! We were a family of 6 with kids ranging in age between 9-19 and everyone loved it! One of the guides (Darius?) made it especially fun for my kids by helping them do flips into the water. It's one of the most beautiful lakes I've seen. And the pickup from the metro made it possible. It's difficult to get to without the pickup.
We had the best time in the water thanks to our guide Valerio! This was an amazing experience for a hot day in August, we were kayaking for about an hour or so, than back for a drink and tagliere, then back in the water! The lake is fantastic, the water is clear and the surroundings are beautiful. Special thanks to Valerio, Enrico and the team.
Nice trip in the heat. Lovely lake with flat calm waters. Not much of a beach but great to swim in water at the stop off point and tour guides were nice and friendly. Would recommend.
I have not kayaked before and learnt how to Kayak with Dario’s guidance. The whole experience was pleasant enjoyable . I recommend this tour highly if you want an activity away from the crowds and if you enjoy water sport
This was amazing 🤩, we all loved so much . It was our first time kayaking and we can't wait Todo it again. The guides were friendly and very informative. They engaged with everyone. Pick directions were clear and accurate. If we come back to Rome we all said we would do it again.
Very well coordinated and really enjoyable activity with fantastic guides.
Beautiful location not far from Rome, a great escape from the city heat. Easy to navigate on the metro and cheap to travel to Anaganina pick up (no extra cost) . Michael , our guide was friendly and informative. A no pressure paddle enjoying the glorious scenery. Definitely recommend
Such an amazing experience in an incredibly picturesque location. The organisers were communicative, helpful and very responsible. Highly recommend booking this day trip if visiting Rome!
It was an amazing experience. I recommend it for anyone who wants to try a new activity. Michael and Flavio were the best guides. They explained the history and leaded us perfectly.
This was so much fun! Lorenzo was an excellent guide- personable and friendly with great knowledge of the lake. I highly recommend this day trip!
The kayak trip was very fun, but it was very exhausting. Our 3 guides were very friendly and helpful. Castel Gandalfo is a great city with Great Lake views.
We had a great kayak and swim tour on Castel Gandolfo Lake. The setting was beautiful and everything felt safe and well organised. Our guide Dario was friendly, helpful and made the experience enjoyable for both adults and teenagers. It was a very nice way to experience the lake from the water. Highly recommended!
It was a great day on the lake with our guides Dario and Valerio! They were very nice and made sure to check in with us every once in a while as we paddled. They were both very informative about the history of the lake and Valerio was always open to answering any follow-up questions we had (in English!). Would highly recommend this trip for anybody looking for an outdoor activity with friends.
This was a fantastic experience. My kids loved every minute of paddling the lake. The guide was awesome and explained some safety tips. We then paddled the clear water to a spot with a rope swing and took a break. We paddled back at our pace and had a wonderful time. I would absolutely do this again and couldn’t be happier as it exceeded our expectations.
Needed a break from the busy Rome and to escape the summer heat, took the metro out to Anagnina and was picked up by the crew without hassle. Beautiful lake to kayak (1/1.15 hour paddle to and from the swimming spot. Our tour guide was a local who knew all about the area. Reasonably priced especially the return pickup and drop off back to the metro station. Was a great half day experience and was back in Rome for sunset aperitif and dinner.
A really great morning out. We booked the kayaking experience at Lake Albano as a family of three and it was a brilliant choice. The setting is stunning and felt like a world away from the city. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable but with a relaxed, unhurried style that made the whole thing feel enjoyable rather than regimented. Easy meeting point, good value for money, and one of the highlights of our trip. Would recommend without hesitation.
We had a great day out on the lake. The water was crystal clear and a great temperature for June. We did some swimming and enjoyed some pizza from the guide midway through the tour. Nice upper body workout and great information about the volcanic lake. I would recommend this to anybody who would like a day out of the city.
We ended up kayaking on a very windy day, making it quite hard to paddle. But our guides were so helpful and patient. The area is beautiful. I would highly recommend this excursion!!
Excellent experience! Our guide Flavio, from Albano, shared lots of local history and information. The aperitivo was delicious and fun!
What an amazing experience! Super easy to get there, we were picked up at the train station (you should visit Cafe 1818 a cross the road while you’re there!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) then we were driven to the lake. It was such an amazing experience, you should be moderately fit to manage the experience! The hosts were amazing and made it a super fun morning! We went with only 7 others which was a nice small group!
Very good moment, i recommend this place. 😀
We had so much fun! My daughter and I did this together. Our guide Simeone was excellent, he had so much knowledge about the history and the environment. He kept us safe and we had a great time. We also did the food and wine which was delicious. This was our favourite day on our entire trip to Italy!
Beautiful small lake surrounded by hills and small towns. We went in late April and there were only a few people visiting, and it was quiet. On a hot summer day it might be quite crowded. Daria our guide was great - a kayak lesson, lots of support for the beginners, helpful explanations about the lake and its history. A lovely, easy, fun day out of the city.
Very incredible experience. Absolutely beautiful views and just as described. I would highly recommend booking.
Super relaxing kayaking trip! Our guide let us go at our own pace and was super engaging! We were given fun facts about the lake and the surrounding area. Highly recommend for a group of friends!
Highly recommend, easy to borrow kayak, friendly price and very nice experience on the lake Albano. Round trip takes between 1-2 hours, nice views to the surrounding especially to Castel Gandolfo.
We chose to make our own way by train so we met the group at the lake. It did not seem rushed in any way. We took a break on a shore the other side of the lake and had some lunch and a swim.
It was very nice to see lake Albano and learn about the history of the armory and military police station. It was cool to see the things underwater and to watch the sunset on the lake. The wine and meats/cheese board after was very nice too. Not English speaking but the tour guide knew a little English so we made it work, definitely worth it for any type of Kayaker.
We had a ball even though it rained and was chilly. What a great time. Thanks! We'll be back. Having Canoa pick us up from the Subway station and usher us through the day made travel to a foreign country much more fun. We felt empowered to try new things!
Good trip very relaxing and informative best red pizza! Simeone was wonderful, the lake was beautiful so much history. There was so much history. Daye
We really enjoyed this experience. Francesco was the perfect gentleman from pick up to drop off back in Rome. When we got to the lake we had time to change and have the briefing before setting off. It was a lovely leisurely paddle to the other side of the lake where we stopped for a swim and a delicious slice of pizza rosso (I think that’s what it was called). Francesco told us all about the lake’s history and gave us some useful tips about visiting the town above and hikes etc of that area. It was a treat I booked for my daughter’s birthday and it was the best start we could have asked for! Would 100% recommend!
We had the best time kayaking on Laco Albano thanks to our excellent guides. I highly recommend skipping the crowds and spending the day with the friendly, knowledgeable crew at the Canoa Kayak Academy.
One of the best activities we done during visit! Not just fun, but some history as well. Staff was helpful and patient. Thank you very much!
Very nice and relaxing experience, Francesco was a gentle and profissional guide and made sure we had a pleasant morning on the lake (the pizza he offered us was excellent às well). We could see ducks, fishes AND turtles and the water looked very clean. The only downside is the bathroom available for kayakers…awful conditions, looking like it hasn’t been cleaned for all the high season (that now is ending). Dirty to extremes.
Hello, I just wanted to thank for the great Tour and the pizza.🙂 Special thanks to Simeon and the Team. Thanks Gábor Berecz
