Wow...Beautiful voices in an intimate setting followed by tour of the Capuchin Crypt. Completely recommend this opportunity or anywhere else this ensemble appears.

The museum was great the covert outstanding. Very talented singers.
Unique experience. Not overly crowded. Music very unique and such a perfect venue. Crypts we super cool.
Delightful sacred music to start our Easter weekend in Rome. Felt very special. Talented singers performed in atmospheric, off-the-beaten-path venue. Crypt museum very interesting as well.
This was one of our top activities in Rome. The concert was excellent. All 4 singers had amazingly strong voices. The explanation about the songs was very interesting. We booked directly with Roma Opera Omnia. The communication was excellent on the part of Paola (who is also one of the singers) The crypt itself was truly astonishing. Creepily beautiful. Our only regret was we didn't have enough time in the museum/crypt as it closed earlier than we anticipated.
The a cappella concert of early music at the Capuchin Crypt was a highlight of my week in Rome. The space was intimate, with ethereal acoustics, and the quartet of vacalists was superb. A haunting and memorable experience. And a very personal one—it felt quite non-commercial. The same person who responded to my email when I booked the concert was also the person who welcomed me to the Capuchin museum, as well as one of the four singers in the concert. I cannot recommend this event highly enough for anyone who loves early music.
We were given only 40 minutes to tour the museum and crypt which was nowhere near enough time to listen to the audio only tour and experience the museum and crypt. The concert itself was outstanding, however $175 (which included a $30 discount) for 2 people was a lot of money for a rushed audio only tour and half hour concert.
We wanted a unique experience for my husband’s birthday. This was recommended and we were not disappointed . The Capuchin museum and crypt were very interesting but the a Capella baroque music was exceptional.
The music performance was excellent and a highlight to a very rainy landing in Rome. The trip through the museum was just so so and the crypt was definitely an oddity.
What an amazing experience. First of all, these are superb musicians. I could have listened to them for hours. Secondly, the acoustics in this room made the music touch my soul. If you want a Rome experience without the crushing crowds, go here! It is a hidden gem for things to do in Rome! A sincere thanks for Paola, who without her help, we would not have been able to enjoy this! Grazie mille!
The musical performance is lovely and the crypt is something else. Highly recommend for a more off the beaten path experience in Rome
Fabulous! Amazing concert and interesting visit to the Cappuchin Convent and Crypt. Easy to book on line. Choice of guided or self guided tour.
Review of the Vocal Ensemble Concert at the Capuchin Monastery in Rome This concert is an absolute must for anyone involved in choral or vocal music — and equally for those who simply love music. An astonishing example of musical chemistry, a soundscape like watercolor art. The voices were truly unique, and the musical program was curated with exquisite taste. Each piece felt like a carefully chosen step in a journey through time and emotion. My only regret is that this musical voyage into the past flew by so quickly. I could have listened for hours.
The concert was simply stunning for its dramatic effect and the skill of the performers. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening which included a tour of the capuchin crypts
Absolutely beautiful singing. Would highly recommend this great experience. The tour afterwards was very interesting and informative.
This was the best tour! The acapella choir concert was a very unique and beautiful experience. The history of the crypts and of the Capuchin friars was very fascinating. I did not find it morbid at all. I would highly recommend this tour!
The singing was a perfect way to set the mood for a fascinating exploration of the crypts. Paula's voice is simply amazing and this was the second event we attended and couldn't be happier with the experience. And of course the guide thru the crypts was very knowledgeable and passionate about conveying that knowledge.
Absolutely amazing performance, the singers brought the 15th - 16th century sacred music to life. This was an unforgettable experience, thank you Paola!
After a morning spent touring the Vatican Museums (which Dante surely included as the sixth circle of hell in his Inferno... didn't he?) and an afternoon at the Colosseum on our first full day in Rome, we were convinced that the entire city had fallen victim to overtourism. The concert hosted by Paola (who not only personally handles reservations but is the group's spectacular soprano) and her colleagues at Roma Opera Omnia was a balm for our frazzled nerves and was a reminder of the art, music and history that goes unnoticed right under the noses of the crowds. I came with my 12-year-old daughters for a beautiful hour of Renaissance and Baroque choral music, followed by an in-depth tour of the Capuchin crypts. Our guide provided context that made our descent into the crypts less macabre than moving--a memento mori, a reminder that as the monks are now, so will we all be. Okay, let's be real, it was still macabre--I mean, come on, art made from human bones--but also beautiful and moving in its own way. I highly recommend this wonderful, immersive experience in the history and music of a magical city. Grazie mille, Paola!
Outstanding singers, evocative setting! We loved the experience and felt it was all very well organised. Highly recommended.
I chose to attend based on a recommendation and it was a strange but wonderful mix. We started with a concert of beautiful music from 16th century. It would have been worth going for this alone. I had not heard about the Capichin friars and the tour through the display and Church was fascinating. Our guide was great, bringing the history to life. Then we had the adventure of the crypt, fascinating if somewhat strange. The concepts of the order displayed with the bones of the friars. I highly recommend this experience if you’re in Rome.
Was a lovely evening, the singers are professional, it was a flawless performance, I loved every moment. The visit at the crypt was breath taking, our guide gave us many interesting informations about capuchins and the crypt. Highly recommended.
What heavenly music! Paola and her three companion singers were a delight. Such divine a capella music lifted the roof of the Capuchin refectory. I enjoyed the experience so much that I felt transported. Thank you. As for the tour of the museum and crypt!? Fascinating. The guide was excellent though she said she was nervous and it was her first time. Many thanks, Paola. Tina O’Donnell
An amazing evening! Thanks to Paola and all. The music was so beautiful and the tour was an informative adventure. Highly recommend. Likely to book same group but maybe in rooftop venue next time!
The concert of sacred music was the highlight of our trip. The group was outstanding in their musicianship, their blend, their sensitivity, etc. Nice selection of musical styles too. Our tour guide was also outstanding. Nice explanations and distillation of a lot of material.
This was such a fun experience. It started with the music in a dark auditorium. It was very calming and unique. All the songs were acapella, and each was given a bit of a backstory as to why they were singing it. After that, we learned all about the Capuchins order, and were able to see an original work by Caravaggio. Once we went through the museum, we were into the crypts and I saw catacombs unlike any I'd ever seen before. It was not like some where it's just lined walls of skulls and bones, these crypts were a work of art. Each room had a different meaning, a different story, and the guide explained it all to us, room by room. At the end, we toured the Church of the Immaculate Conception where they guide told us about the artwork and history of the church. This was a very cool experience, and I would recommend it for anyone looking for something different than the typical church tours.
The host, Paola, was amazing. This was our second tour with her. And the concert was amazingly beautiful and captivating!
The church and museum were amazing. I wish we had more time to see every exhibit but our tour guide was great! The concert was a rare and beautiful experience.
It was a fantastic way to start our holiday, our guide was very knowledgable, he was happy to answer any questions. We would recommed this trip, it is something we have never seen before, very interesting and educational We then had the pleasure of our private concert, truly wonderful, relaxing and all the staff were helpful.
During our recent visit to Rome, my daughters and I were privileged to spend an evening visiting the Capuchin museum and crypt. The museum is informative and interesting, well signed in English as well as Italian. The audio tour provided a rich source of additional information. Following this, we walked through the crypt which is an ossuary. Never before have we seen wall art created by human bones – fascinating! The highlight of our visit was a concert of sacred music performed by Roma Opera Omnia. A quartet of pure voices in perfect harmony… The audience was enraptured. As any tourist to Rome would attest, the city is very busy and very crowded. The concert offered a respite from the hectic life outside.
It was a cool, not so popular thing to experience. I usually don't like audio tours but this was well done - styled like an interview. Very informative. The crypt was interesting to say the least, and the Gregorian opera was amazing. I only wish they would do some longer pieces.
What a truly amazing and memorable event! We were given an extremely interesting tour of the crypt, followed by the most beautiful concert. The team - Roma Opera Omnia are true professional's delivering a superb event. We would highly recommend this tour, it is excellent and worth every penny.
After a brief visit in the church, we headed to the crypt which housed four rooms decorated with bones mostly belonging to the Capuchins and one additional room without bones serving as their small chapel. The rooms with bones are incredibly interesting containing thousands of bones arranged as works of art. Each also contains the mummified remains of some of the monks. Afterwords, a concert with four singers performs religious songs through the ages. Listening with eyes closed is a heavenly sensation ending our unusual but definitely worthwhile experience.
What an incredibly unique experience. Our guide Angie was articulate and knowledgeable and provided an enthusiastic tour through the church and crypt which has no comparisons. The following concert left us in awe, the combined voices are from heaven.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING 🥹 Me and my family, we have never seen something like this place, which made our experience very unique. The tour guide was passionate about what he was doing, so it was really interesting. We must admit that our favourite part was the concert! Sending big thanks to Paola Alonzi, Micaela Parrilla, Marco Ciardo and Stefano Sabene!!! They sang so beautifully evoking so many wonderful emotions. Since one of my family members had her birthday today, they also sang her a little happy birthday song and wrote little wishes onto the paper that was in the CD that we bought. We are truly glad to have come 💗
I had no idea what to expect from the concert. I was amazed and moved. I could have listened for hours!
This is an absolute must do! I have been to the Capuchin Crypt 6 times and this was the best of all the visits. First, Paola is incredibly responsive when booking tickets and makes it very easy to book everything. Don't be concerned about the payment process. This is my second time booking something with her and it's completely safe. Second, our tour guide was wonderful. His name was Lorenzo and he taught me things I did not know. Last, and most importantly, the concert. Beautiful, haunting, and an experience we will not forget. And will do again. I did not realize Paola was the soprano for the concert and her voice is stunning. Everyone, the tenor, contralto, and basso were also so wonderful. We wished the concert would go on longer. Be sure to buy a cd at the end for your memories! Grazie mille, Paola and team. We loved it. :)
This is the second time I’ve experienced this amazing tour, and performance. I cannot more highly recommend it. The crypt is fascinating; the music sublime.
Fascinating Crypt Tour. Interesting. Something different, that's for sure. Beautiful singing and acoustics. Easy to navigate.
Excellent experience from the moment I arrived. The experience is split into three sections; the museum and church tour, the crypt section and finally the concert. I also arrived early to sit in the church in silence for a while, which I would recommend if you have time as it is a very beautiful church. Lorenzo was the guide for the first two sections who was excellent. He was very friendly, informative and knowledgeable, and I particularly enjoyed hearing about the paintings (the highlight of which was a Caravaggio). What I liked is that the tour felt very calm (only around 25 people in total who were split between two guides) and if the group naturally lingered at a section he did not rush. The Crypt section speaks for itself, but again Lorenzo was knowledgeable and answered a couple of questions from some members of the group. I liked the fact it was stated this section could also be both entirely optional or skippable. Everyone in the group went in, but I can understand some people may be uncomfortable in there, so giving them the choice is good. Finally, the concert took place which was magnificent! Paola, Micaela, Marco and Stefano performed 10 pieces to the entire group. I will not say too much about this as it has to be experienced! What I will say is that as a visitor to this beautiful city, getting to hear the sacred music in person is something I will remember for a very long time. Thank you to everyone involved in this experience.
The Capuchins tour and concert is a perfect evening experience featuring a tour of the Capuchins Crypts of bones, an original Caravaggio painting, and a short, but spellbinding concert of religious music from the 15th century sung by opera singers (Schola Romana Ensemble).
This was a really interesting sight and the concert was excellent. I think the price was a bit high for the total experience, but we still would recommend this tour if you’re looking for something unique to do in Rome.
This is such a cheap thing to do while in Rome. I booked on line and didn’t receive a confirmation email so when I went to the desk at the allotted time to explain the male on reception was rude and simply wouldn’t let me explain. I was completely at ease as I knew I had paid but he made it into something as he wasn’t pleasant at all. That said once we got in it was really interesting and the actual crypt is one on the most fascinating yet macabre things I’ve ever seen. Only takes about an hour and the audio guide is available in every language.
Excellent singing by the Schola Romana Ensemble, and wonderful acoustics. Wish the concert were longer, but at least I have some CDs to remember the event.
Dreadful trip… the guide was extremely lacking in knowledge and didn’t cover basic facts.. the monk who was there helping was the rudest man we met in Rome… the singers were ok… a complete rip off at the price… avoid this trip
Absolutely wonderful concert by the quartet and was a pleasure and privilege to listen to.Perfect harmonies, brilliant acoustic and fantastic surroundings. What could be better. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
We arranged our whole day around our plans to attend a concert at the capuchin crypt only to be told when we arrived that it was cancelled long before that day. They, too, were surprised that we did not receive a notification from trip Advisor. Please have someone contact me regarding my refund.
Lifetime experience! The guide was really good! We expected more from the crypts but we were rewarded with the amazing concert!
A unique, magical experience. To listen to the Quartet of gifted singers, in a glorious church, in the heart of Rome was extremely special. Lorenzo explained the history of the Church, Art and the Capuchin Monks, which was fascinating. We would also highly recommend booking the dinner after the concert. Fantastic food and service in the Terrazza Borromini Restaurant in the heart of the city. Even a taxi to the restaurant was included in the price. Paola went out of her way to make my husband's birthday a truly memorable experience.
This was a very varied and interesting experience. Firstly our guide took us through the museum in which he experty outlined the history of the Capuchins. Next we visited the six churches in the crypt. Here, the artwork created entirely from human bone was fascinating but macabre! The pièce de resistance, however, was the concert which followed. The four performers sang a capella so beautifully, it was difficult not to feel very moved! All in all, a really good evening - highly recommended!
