The museum is mostly overlooked and avmust ser when in Rome. There are sculptures and paintings not seen in other venues. It shows a lot of Rome’s early history.

The voucher instructions were a little confusing, and the museum personnel were not helpful at all. We arrived in time for our 9:30 entry, but didn't get in until 10:30 due to the missing tickets. After we found our way to the tourist shop to get the tickets and saw the "movie" (skip the movie - ChatGPT could do it better in 5 min) we were glad to finally get entry into the museum. My partner was unable to get the audio tour on his iphone (my android worked so we awkwardly shared). The highlight was the giant room where the SheWolf is, and also the cafe and amazing view from up there. We were underwhelmed by the rest of the museum (but the Tabularium was a very interesting tunnel between the buildings.)
Easier to simply go to the museum and buy tickets there. The Tourstation office was very busy and not worth the time and effort for simply a ticket pick up
The Diego Rivera experience was GREAT!
You need to physically go to another office to pick up your ticket, not the museum. The office is down the Capitoline Hill, across the piazza. I had to download an app for the audiobook which was fine but the QR code on the brochure was for the Vatican Museums so never got the correct audiobook. Much of my time spent here was just getting the ticket and the (wrong) audiobook. I would book a more direct way to get the ticket. The museum trip was amazing. I highly recommend the museum but not this method of getting a ticket.
25 video was good with reconstruction. However it was hard to follow the audio. Little instruction would be helpful.
We loved the displays of these amazing statues, paintings etc.
The museum is great but the experience we all had was not so good. First there was no information that said we would each need a cellphone and headset but luckily we happened to each have ours. Then we were given a link to install and app and download a museum map and presentation which we were told we could listen to or read. Unfortunately the file to download was very large and basically would only download over wifi. I would have done this at our hotel but was not told about it or given a link. This left us wandering aimlessly through the complex which made it easy to get lost.
We could not find your ticket office and we had to buy tickets at the entry door. I ended up having to pay double for the tickets. Need better information for your ticket office
It was a great museum with beautiful views over the Roman Forum. Simple entry. Leave backpack in lockers with a key- free.
Expect to spend a lot of time at the museum as it is quite large so allow plenty of time. There are also quite a number of stairs do beware. Very worth a visit.
This museum is beautiful. The collection is focused on sculpture, and the works are amazing. The building is large enough not to feel crowded. They have a full restaurant at the terrace at the top, and a snack bar if you don't want to have a sit-down lunch. They have many works I had only seen in pictures. It was great to see them in person, and without the squeeze of the Vatican museum. I highly recommend it The views from the terrace are fantastic as well.
Amazing service and quickly sorted out tickets.
Thank you Jessica for your help! Very kind and helpful. The introductory video was interesting and the seating area was perfect.
We met with Andrea this morning. She was lovely and full of all information we asked, she knew the answers. She explained everything that was going to happen and helped with everything.
Andrea is a nice person, good explanation.
don't waste your money! we paid 3x what it would have cost to buy the tickets directly from museum and the audio did not work.
If I could give a negative number I’d do it. The fact that their employee told us that the tickets they provided they’ve had problems with before means that this company needs to fix their tickets. Lia the fact that they can’t just send them to my email is Assine.
Pushing aside and obscuring the existing statuary of the museum, the Cartier exhibition resembles more a usurpation of the museum than an exhibition. Many if not most of the Cartier attendees have little interest in the museum's historical artworks. In addition, the Cartier exhibit's specialized lighting renders much of the existing statuary almost impossible to see properly.
Partial open, construction on the three, we didn’t get value for what we paid. What we did see was amazing. Too bad we didn’t
The tourist office did not have room for the video presentation which I bought a ticket for. I would have been more organized in the museum if I had had that. Otherwise I enjoyed the museum.
After climbing the stairs of the fatherland monument we then climbed the stairs to the museum where we learned the actual tickets and barcode from trip advisors has to be turned in at the bottom of the stairs at another location. We were on a schedule and after seeing and walking all day we skipped I am sure the museum is fantastic but there was not enough of a call out concerning the tickets as at most places the barcodes from trip advisor we sufficient for entry. So museum may have been a five -we don’t know the point off is for execution and not a steins enough call it for the need to have the bar codes exchanged for tickets elsewhere.
An interesting , informative experience. It contains the famous she-wolf and the equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelius , along with many other artefacts. It is all a bit randomly dotted though , and a bit confusing to navigate. I thought the ticket price was expensive so perhaps not the best museum to bring an entire group ( 25.50 euros for adult, 15.00 euros reduced)
Could not locate the meeting spot. waited for guide at the museum before never appeared. Had to buy our tickets at the museum and tour ourself!
Capital Museum of Rome was a great museum to explore and visit. I would recommend the headsets to help you understand some of the history and items there. Your company was helpful and the video very informative. Recommend the tour and esp the museum.
So interesting that this is the 1st public museum in history , when Pope Sixtus IV in 1471 donated a collection of important ancient bronzes to the Roman people. Prepare your visit to see iconic works such as the equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelius, the Capitoline She-wolf, and the Capitoline Venus up close It’s a great experience!!
This was recommended by our guide during the Forum visit. It was excellent but we struggled to find where to pick up the audioguide and the people at the museum were very unhelpful. We will need to return because we didn't have enough time and we also didn't have the audioguide which we had paid for.
It’s a beautiful museum. I did not take a tour either in person or by audio. It was easy to tour by myself.
I didn’t get my voucher in time. My colesseum tour had been rescheduled by the tour operator and we didn’t have enough time to get to museum to pick up tickets.
The museum is large, beautiful and worth visiting. There is a great variety of roman art that is engrossing and a nice selection of later art.
Once we got in to the museum it was fantastic! Getting there was another story. After asking where to enter and showing my “ticket” I was directed up an endless staircase only to find out I was in the wrong place. Down to the bottom then directed to the adjoining staircase. Once up I was told I had to get an official ticket across the street. Down again. Finally got an official ticket. There has to be a better way to do this!
Worry free visit to the attraction. Audio app was very useful in understanding various exhibits in the museum. Highly recommend this package.
The Museum itself is great however getting tickets through this particular booking was confusing and ultimately unsuccessful for us. Would recommend buying tickets directly if you have the time.
The process of going to the tourist office in order to get the tickets was abominable. We were an hour late getting to the museum because of it
Excellent experience with booking, picking up my ticket, and the video you watch before crossing the street to the Capitoline Museum. The ticket office for this booking is not inside the Capitoline Museum. It is diagonally across the street from the stairway leading from the street to the Museum at TOURISTATION ARACOELI office at Piazza Aracoeli, 16. I already knew a lot about the history of Rome, but the video was enjoyable and good visual preparation for what you are about to see in the Museum.
Meeting point easy to find! The staff was very professional and provided us all the required information. Great video before the visit! The museums is very interesting and full of masterpieces! I enjoyed the view from the Caffarelli terrace!
The ladies at the Touristation office were so kind and helpful. The video was very interesting and informative. The museum are immense. Very recommended
The Capitoline Museums are absolutely stunning, and they are definitely worth a visit. As the oldest museum in the world, the historical value is unparalleled. A bonus point is the amazing service we received at the Touristation meeting point. The staff was incredibly helpful, explaining everything clearly and even helping us download a city audio guide onto our phones. This guide gave us detailed information about all the monuments we encountered as we walked around. Additionally, in the cinema room, we watched a beautiful multimedia introductory video that was both informative and engaging. The entire experience was seamless and insightful, and I highly recommend visiting!
Loads to see in this fascinating museum which is ideally located near the forum. Highly recommended for a couple of hours
Highly recommended , a lot to see and to learn. Very easy check in, I bought the ticket in advance from viator
The views from the top, amazing! The museum was just so ornate and beautiful. Well laid out and labeled and signage. The audio didn’t work so that’s why I have to 3 stars.
The video you can watch at their office is surprisingly good. Just remember to get your ticket before you climb that hill. It was self guided, no frills and as expected.
We booked this activity through Viator but it was hosted by Touristation. They provided a great video before we went to the museums. Lots of great exhibits and make sure you pay to get a ticket to the top of the church. The views are outstanding.
Tickets were bought at the door. It was one of the places that wasn’t crowded. We went in the afternoon and were able to see the sunset from their rooftop cafe. Even the children enjoyed the sculptures. Do not miss Bernini’s Medusa
The Capitoline Museum is a must see. But the ticket voucher/ printout was not accepted at the museum. The redemption location was not clear. I had to climb several long flights of stairs up to the piazzo, back down again. 20 minutes searching for redemption ticket exchange which was on the other side of a busy traffic circle and back up the steps again. That should not have to happen with clear instructions and a map. I’d rate the museum 5-stars and getting there 1-star.
Great works from many different time periods at the Capitoline. 10/10 recommend. The multimedia video was perhaps unnecessary. It was cool, but not a must-do.
Viator has let us down this whole trip. After walking up a giant hill in the heat, the attendant at the museum was super rude and told us that this was not a real ticket. After speaking with the ticket office, we were told to go to the the tourist office to get our paper tickets. After doing that we were still unable to get in. The attendant said we had to go buy another ticket. This is a scam. I paid $78 for fake tickets. The admission tickets were only 14 euros and there was no line. Don’t bother with this.
We went to the Capitoline museum with the Fidias (Phidias) exhibit because I am a great lover of Greek and Roman ancient culture. I was SO excited about the Fidias exhibit after reading that it was the first of its kind, pieces were being reunited, etc. etc. I am so disappointed! There were 3 tiny end pieces that were painted which were supposedly from the Parthenon. The rest were casts or maps of late Roman empire copies of what was thought to have something to do with the Parthenon. We went around the area twice thinking that we must have missed part of it. The Capitoline museum was not earth shaking either. We followed this visit with the Etruscan museum Villa Guilia which was fantastic in every way. If you have time constraints, I would pass on the Capitoline museum.
Getting the tickets was a pain. Had to spend more time finding the pick up location than if I just stood in line and bought them.
Totally disorganized with Tourstation having us scheduled for the wrong date and no one to assist you. Entered museum with help of security, folks save your money buy your tickets at museum for 4.50E per person vs, $78.00 paid to Viator.
