Itinerary
Begin on the ground floor with a breathtaking journey through Baroque sculpture. Marvel at Bernini’s dynamic masterpieces "Apollo and Daphne", "David", and "The Rape of Proserpina", as well as Canova’s elegant "Pauline Bonaparte". This section brings marble to life with emotion, movement, and mythological drama.
Continue upstairs to explore the Gallery’s world class painting collection. Admire Caravaggio’s striking realism, including "David with the Head of Goliath", and "St. Jerome". See Raphael’s delicate "Lady with a Unicorn", Titian’s enigmatic "Sacred and Profane Love", and Correggio’s sensual "Danaë". This section showcases the emotional power and beauty of Italian art.
After your tour is finished, enjoy free time in a self led exploration of the Borghese Gardens. After exiting the Borghese Gallery, stroll along Viale dei Pupazzi toward the Temple of Aesculapius, a romantic lake surrounded by umbrella pines and statues. You can rent a rowboat here for a quick paddle or simply relax and take photos. Then follow signs toward Pincian Hill Terrace (Terrazza del Pincio) one of Rome’s best viewpoints. From here, enjoy sweeping views over Piazza del Popolo and the city skyline, perfect for photos or a peaceful moment.
Head down the shaded path toward Casina Valadier, a historic café bar with panoramic terraces, great for coffee, aperitivo, or a light lunch. From here, visitors can either explore more of the park at their own pace, such as the Globe Theatre, Cinema dei Piccoli, or the Borghese Gardens, or slowly make their way toward Piazza del Popolo to re-enter the bustle of the city.

The Borghese Gallery is amazing on its own, it can be overwhelming because of the quantity and quality of the art collection. But what made our tour unforgettable was our amazing tour guide, Riccardo! He knew the details, the history, and the "why" behind each piece and made our experience SO much better!! We highly recommend this tour, and ask for Riccardo--he's the absolute bestest!! Entry, tickets, crowd in the gallery, and meeting up were super easy and Riccardo handled the few hiccups with professional grace and kindness. This is easily the best way to see the Borghese!!
Brilliant tour of the Borghese - Riccardo, the guide, turned it into an in-depth and compelling study of the three great artists in the gallery.
Federica was a wonderful guide. Very knowledgeable with the history of each piece she shared with the group.
The gallery limits to 180 tickets per hour, and you have to leave after 2 hours. Lorena was our guide and she was amazing! She made sure she saw the highlights in our limited time. She explained the Bernini sculptures so that they literally took on life. I learned so much from her and will have a much better appreciation of sculpture in the future.
Federica was an EXCELLENT guide for the Galleria Borghese! Her knowledge of the history and the stories behind all the artists and masterpieces really brought everything to life. We were beyond pleased with the entire experience. Brava!!
Our tour of the Vatican with Fabio as our tour guide exceeded all our expectations. The incredible beauty and the history behind it, explained so beautifully by Fabio has inspired both myself and my wife to further research it's history. Everything was explained with great clarity and good humour. Thank you for such a great tour.
Such a wonderful experience with our tour guide Eddie! He gave a great ,accurate and entertaining explanation of the art and sculpture. He really brought the entire collection to life. . Definitely the highlight of our trip to Italy.
Fantastic place with a fantastic tour guide! Very well done, thank you!!
As visits to the Borghesse Gallery are limited to 2 hours, it was great to have a lively, well-informed guide, who ensured that we didn't miss the main highlights. On the positive side, the 2-hour limit meant that the galleries were never too crowded and we could really appreciate the artworks.
Elena was a fantastic tour guide. She was extremely knowledgeable about the art in Villa Borghese museum. I can only assume she was an art history/history major because she was truly an expert. Booking this tour was the best decision. I tried to book too late and was unable to get a tour of that museum my first visit to Rome. I highly recommend this tour. Book very early! You do not want to miss this! This tour had a maximum of 15 people and there were four of us that day.
The guided tour was excellent and very educational. Guia (Gaga) is so knowledgeable and passionate about the Rome art history, I leaned so much from the tour and truly enjoyed the experience. Highly recommend to everyone visiting Rome.
Martina was a wonderful guide with a sense of humor. She was very knowledgeable and pointed out things in the art we would never have noticed. I highly recommend this tour and Martina.
Amazing sculpture and a unique art experience. We had a great guide in Liz and it was a great way to spend a rainy afternoon in Rome.
We really liked the Villa Borghese guide. Stefanos was a great guide who knew everything about the museum and its exhibits. Totally worth it.
Irene made this tour of the Borghese Gallery come to life. We had been on a whirlwind through Rome and I was afraid it would get lost in the many tours we took. Her storytelling really brought this museum to life. There were details that each of us found fascinating that only a skilled guide would point out. Don’t miss it. And ask for Irene
Irene, our tour guide, was an art historian. She was passionate and knowledgeable, and led an outstanding tour. I highly recommend using this company and requesting her.
Federico was an amazing guide. He really provided such a fantastic tour with great information. You cannot miss the Borghese Museum it is an amazing experience. This place is absolutely beautiful and awe inspiring! This was a great way to spend the one rainy day I had while in Rome.
Some of the most important art in Roma is housed here at Villa Borghese, and the grounds and gardens provide a welcoming and beautiful oasis in the heart of the city. Not to be missed!!!
We signed up for the tour because individual tickets to the Borghese were sold out (as they usually are), but it turned out to be the best way to see the Borghese. Our guide was terrific in every way; it was the highlight of our trip.
Truly excellent tour. We rarely have a guide for art museums but Eddie was fantastic. He knows his stuff and presents it in an engaging way. Very good experience with this company and guide👍
We had amazing tour of the villa thanks to Federico. It was my second visit and was impressed to learn so many interesting facts and details about the history, the artists and the masterpieces.
Our guide Eddy was simply perfect. He was enthusiast, knowledgable and inspiartional. Even our thirsty and hungry teenagers were keeping up with the tour. We learned new insights about Bernini and the baroque style👌
Stefano. Knows his stuff and brought a lot of the artwork to life. Good pace excellent energy makes all the difference
The best guided tour of a museum we have ever experienced. Stefano was so knowledgeable-made this tour truly memorable and so enjoyable.
Well organized and very interesting visit with Marina. A lot of information you cannot gave when visiting by yourself, I recommend ! Thanks !
Amazing museum and our guide was terrific. Get a small group tour of this museum because it is large and can be overwhelming. Plus, the guides know the artwork and can point out things you may miss. Highly recommend.
We had a spare morning in our Rome holiday which we decided to fill with a trip to the Borghese. I am so glad we did. Riccardo, our guide, was just brilliant. He was fascinating to listen to, with a deep knowledge and special skill in helping you consider what was special and unique about the pieces while giving you all the information you would expect. Our group had a range of ages from young children to seniors and there wasn't a member of the group he didn't enthrall and entertain. This was an absolute highlight of our trip. The building is amazing, and the collection is outstanding. Good cafe as well. I would totally recommend this as an experience.
Jeannette made the Galleria Tour fun, interesting, and related the history to our current times so it was comprehensive to what we were seeing.
It’s exceptional tour. Guide was most informative m. She was quite lovely, respectful and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this tour👍👏👏
Such a beautiful collection of artworks. The Villa Bourghese is one of my absolute favorites. Jeanette was a great tour guide and I felt lucky to have a guide with her extensive knowledge and historical reference.
Federica was an A+ tour guide. As she guided us through the rooms of the Borghese Galleria she explained the art and the historical significance as well the artist’s relevance in history. She really knows her art history and this building houses some of the most important pieces. Don’t miss this one.
Ricardo was amazing. He is incredibly knowledgeable and provided detailed background on the Renaissance masters, particularly Bernini and Caravaggio. Would book him again and again!
I rarely write reviews but this tour with Irene was so good I decided to do it this time. This tour was two hours of pure delight, fascinating information and delightful enthusiasm shared by Irene. Worth the price in this museum where you cannot spend more than two hours anyway.
Very professional by Francesco. Much better then previous time, and much better then Vatican this morning
The tour lasted long enough. The guide was super enthusiastic and had a lovely accent! It was a shame we didn't have enough time to wander around on our own at the end. It was a great tour!
Jeanette ROCKS!!! She gave such a greet tour today! So much knowledge & detail to her tour. We loved it, recommend highly. She’s funny & engaging, our group was made up people from many countries & she’s made it such an amazing time. My first time at Villa Borghese & Jeanette made the visit very worth while.
Great tour! Lorely was incredibly knowledgeable and the sights of the gallery were amazing. Exceptional communication with guide and easy to meet up day of.
Jeanette was a fantastic and extremely knowledgeable tour guide who showed us round at a good pace, giving us time to appreciate the selection of pieces she had carefully chosen. Her knowledge and humour helped us to understand the context in which the paintings and sculptures were made, and we got so much more out of it than we would have without her. Highly recommended.
I booked a trip to the Borghese for completeness without really having much idea what to expect. The online pictures and videos don’t do justice to the collection. A cardinal’s palace and very much in the vein of the Vatican collection just scaled down a little. Excellent, informative guide with a training in art history and a bit of welcome irreverence. Well worth the effort of the visit and the price of a guided tour. Good cafe and restroom facilities. The only disappointment was timed admission and timed exit - two hours isn’t long in there.
The tour was expensive but worth every penny. The Borghese gallery is beautiful and our guide Francesco's knowledge of art, history and politics, as well as his subtle humour and critical thinking, gave real substance to the visit.
Federica was amazing and brought the Gallery to life for us. While it would be have been OK to go through the Borghese ourselves, learning more about the history and stories behind the villa and the art made it special.
Federico was one of the best guides I’ve ever had. I wish he could have led me all over the city! As someone who went on a lot of tours this trip, I appreciated Federico’s attention to detail.
Very comprehensive explanation of the Gallery. We loved the enthusiasm of our guide. She was outstanding!
Beautiful museum , very informative. Tour guide was very interesting and tight is not only about the art but the history behind it.
Great time at Villa Borghese! The guide Cristina was outstanding, very knowledgeable and passionate of her love of art at the museum. It's a spectacular place - every inch of it is covered in art. The Bernini sculptures were beautiful l.
Jeanette was fantastic! So knowledgeable and funny. She was great to be around. I would highly recommend if you want to get the most out of Borgese.
Eddy was a fantastic tour guide. Personable, funny and incredibly informative. He did a great job of distilling the museum into its best elements.
Jeannette was a fantastic guide. Her knowledge of art history and her ability to bring the history of the Borghese gallery to life gave us a fantastic experience.
Everything was excellent. The guide was very detailed and interesting. The collection in the museum was beautiful and amazing.
