Very knowledgeable guide - very good English. The hearing piece and receiver were not good quality and can be improved. Stopped working at times

Itinerary
Borghese Gallery is a not-to-be-missed attraction for those who love Italian artworks. One of the greatest art collections in the world awaits you in a sumptuous and regal setting built by Scipione Borghese, Pope Paul V’s nephew in the early 17th century. The Borghese Gallery sculptures collection includes several other masterpieces by Gianlorenzo Bernini, including The Truth, Scipione Borghese’s Bust and many of the artist’s self-portrait. The Museum also hosts one of the most famous works by the Italian Master of Neoclassic sculpture, Antonio Canova. Walk into the Paolina Room and pause to contemplate the wonderful statue of Paolina Borghese, Camillo Borghese’s wife, in the guise of Venus. As you continue your tour, marvel at the sight of the Old Masters, such as Raffaello’s famous Lady with Unicorn and Portrait of Pope Julius II, or Caravaggio’s David with the Head of Goliath, Boy with a Basket of Fruit, St Jerome, and Self-Portrait as Bacchus, to name but a few.

Amazing access to Bernini sculpture and world class art! Elegant surroundings! Felt privileged being there.
Easy communication in the booking experience. Davide gave a great tour that was both informative and entertaining!
After back and forth cancellation in the last days leading to the tour mixed with poor communication on the operator side we were able to get a slot to the tour, only to discover that our guide knew very little and mixed miss-information with historic facts. The Borghese gallery is amazing to see, if you need to use this as the last option to get in its worth it. I would rarely write a bad review for anything, but this tour is truly worth it.
Worst guided tour I have ever had. When I booked this tour, after reading the description and taking into account the expensive price, I thought I would find an expert in Art and History who would provide true value to the visit of one of the most impressive art collections in the world. Sadly, the guide (Emily) didn't add anything to it and skipped several important works of art. The presentation was poor, and eventually, I had to listen to other guides who were doing the tour at the same time to get something out of it. It seemed that the guide was more focused on speaking about her religious roots than about the artworks. I felt absolutely disappointed about spending €245 (we were a couple and a child) on such a terrible, trivial, and boring experience.
Anna was great. Knew her stuff. Patient. Answered questions. Heard her info loud and clear. Made the experience much better with knowledgeable facts.
DO NOT BOOK THIS TOUR- “Rome with Silvia” - No guide turned up for the tour! I was 30 Minutes early, attempted contact via what’s app and phone call, text message but no response.
Great experience ! The gallery is amazing, the sculptures are beautiful I will definitely be taking more tours
Guide was wonderful and the gallery is a must see. But customer service was TERRIBLE and I would not book a tour with this company again. My booking clearly said 4pm at my Viator confirmation, yet they started calling me at 3:30pm asking where I was and then sending WhatsApp messages saying the tour would start at 3:45 as per my voucher (which I never received, only a confirmation in Viator). Luckily I always arrive early but other guests arrived later and a couple even missed the tour. If you book this, arrive 30 mins early, but given miscommunication and rude personnel, I would recommend looking for another company to book this tour.
Gallery set in middle of a beautiful park with incredible views of Rome. The gallery is home of irreplaceable, priceless pieces of art. Also not as crowded as a lot of famous sites in Rome. Tour guide very engaging and knowledgeable.
This gallery is Amazing. You get to see some truly amazing things. The tour guide was an art teacher and full of information. She was very passionate about the art and telling the stories behind it. Only negative was she got so caught up talking in some of the spots that she was super into, that we ran out of time at the end and missed some of the rooms only getting to briefly and quickly walk through the last few rooms as the venue was closing and they were telling us to leave. She may need to shorten some of the information in the earlier rooms since there is not enough time to delve that deep and still at least make it to each room. I did love her passion, just don't want to miss some of the rooms.
Very well organized tour. Leader was where we expected and tour started on time. Leader was well versed in the art and culture.
Sylvia Rossetti, our guide for the Villa Borghese Gallery, was excellent. She was highly knowledgeable and her stories and enthusiasm made the wonderful sculptures and paintings come to life.
Wonderful tour! Our tour guide, Stephania, was wonderful. She provided a narrative that was informative and easy to follow. The details she included followed a logical and clear path. She’s was easy to hear and follow throughout the museum. She provided a wonderful journey!
Guide was lovely and the tour was amazing. We saw all the important artworks and the history and story behind these works was very much appreciated.
Our guide was knowledgeable but was finished 45 minutes early. He also lost most of the group! First time we have been disappointed with a Viator booking.
Excellent collection of art work with insightful commentary by the guide. Very informative.
The lady guide knew a lot but for an English guided tour was VERY hard to understand with her strong Italian accent - we all 10 agreed about that.
Enjoyed all the Gallery’s artwork. Guide was okay, but somewhat disappointing as narrative and insight shared was inconsistent and disjointed at times; appeared as if she was trying to remember her script, but was missing parts. The artwork is impressive.
Extremely disappointing experience—not simply because of a scheduling miscommunication, but because of how rudely and unprofessionally the tour operator handled it. I booked this tour through Viator a month in advance. Two days before the tour, the operator apparently sent a WhatsApp moving the tour two hours earlier. I replied “thanks,” but while traveling and receiving messages from multiple Viator operators, I clearly confused the message with another booking. I acknowledge that. However, Viator still showed the ORIGINAL time everywhere—in the app, on our ticket, and even in an email Viator sent me the day of the tour. There was no email notifying me of the change. I had also messaged the operator through Viator earlier that day with a question and received no response whatsoever. After an eight-hour travel day, while checking into our hotel, I suddenly received two back-to-back calls telling me I was supposed to be at the tour in 30 minutes. The operator was rude and accusatory, followed up with rude messages, and showed absolutely no empathy or acknowledgment of the conflicting information we had received through Viator. Most importantly, we could not have made the newly scheduled time anyway. We booked the tour based on the time advertised and confirmed when we purchased it. I understand their position that they sent a WhatsApp and I responded. What I do NOT understand is changing a tour by two hours while leaving the original time on the booking platform, ticket and same-day confirmation—and then berating the customer when the inevitable confusion occurs. A simple, “We understand what happened; let’s see if we can move you to another tour,” would have gone a long way. Instead, we received rudeness, blame and then were completely ignored. Miscommunications happen. Good customer service is about how you handle them. Based on how this company handled ours, I cannot recommend them. Viator refused to elevate the issue, I had to dial back three time in 90 minutes. The STILL HAVE MY MONEY To be clear, these people took my money and our family, including two boys, missed this experience.

The experience was fantastic & educational, engaging, and incredibly easy to get to. From the moment we arrived, everything was well organized and thoughtfully put together. There was so much to learn, and the information was presented in a way that was both interesting and easy to understand. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or returning, it’s definitely worth the trip. I left with a greater appreciation for the experience and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for something fun, informative, and memorable. The tour guide Martise (sorry if spelled incorrectly)
Excellent tour. Worth checking out whether you are an art lover or not. The museum is beautiful, and your tour guide really helped us navigate through the museum and what we should pay special attention to during the visit.
My wife and are experienced travelers who travel Europe pursuing art experiences. This was the best!
A fabulous tour guide so full of knowledge and clearly very passionate about art. A wonderful tour. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and for making the tour so enjoyable and memorable. Definitely recommend.
Tour was rescheduled from 11 am to 11:45 am, then the headset guy showed up late, delaying us further. We had booked a train to Naples based on the scheduled 11 am start time. With the delays, we had to go faster than the tour in order to see everything. So we essentially paid for a tour in order to get a ticket, which was disappointing. Art was amazing, thankfully.
The guide booked through Viator, Tours with Sylvia, did not show up and I could not enter the gallery.
Superb guide! Made the whole experience exceptional. Very knowledgeable of both art and history as they inter-relate.
Provided key access and certainty of tour. Guide was very educated in art history and very familiar with Borghese. Duration was very substantial, hitting all the apparent highlights.
David was an exceptional and knowledgeable guide.. highly recommended!
Fantastic tour guide. We loved her stories about the pieces and the Borghese family. It really brought it to life. She was vey engaging. We did a lot of tours in Rome and this was memorable.
The booking was cancelled last minute with no explanation
The most beautiful museum! Bernini’s sculptures are more beautiful than all the ones I’ve seen in Italy. Our guide gave great details to make it extra special
Very detailed description of the art which was excellent. Not as much about the history or the villa which my family wanted.
I had really wanted to see the Borghese collection but had read about the nightmare of trying to get tickets. This tour was the best of both worlds/ we got tickets to the gallery and an amazing guide who was so informative about the art we were seeing. I highly recommend it.
The guide Virginia did an amazing job of articulating the personalities of the artists and patrons - not to mention the nature of the art itself.
Wonderful paintings and sculptures throughout the museum. Virginia provided an incredibly informative tour. She is very passionate about the museum and its works…and it showed in her tour. Thank you, Ginnie. A definite winner!
HORRIBLE, AWFUL, TERRIBLE if I could leave minus stars I would. We were here 20 minutes early asked everyone if they were either Rome with Sylvia and the guide WITH OUR TICKETS NEVER SHOWED UP!!!!
Very disappointing experience. We arrived 15 minutes early and waited at the exact meeting point as instructed, but Silvia never showed up. We called the activity provider multiple times using the number provided, and nobody answered. As tourists with limited time in Rome, this wasted a valuable part of our day. No communication, no explanation, and no customer support. Would not recommend.
No stars! The tour guide and tickets never showed up! Tried to contact and for 30 min past time never responded at all! Spoke with all other tour guides at site and the museum itself and no one even knows this guide, Did not get to see gallery at all very disappointed. I contacted Viator for refund but still out 60€ for taxi fares and wasted half a day of vacation with only disappointment. Tried to purchase tickets at gallery myself but sold out. I hope Viator removes this company because it is a scam! I book through Viator to avoid scams and make travel easier in places where I don’t know how. Save yourself some trouble and book with a different company or you might not be able to go like us! Now I won’t be able to see the museum and am very disappointed!
I booked a tour for my wife and I. We were here on the scheduled date and time. No guide ever showed up. So I went to the ticket counter and asked if the tour group paid for any tickets today and he said they did not. How does this even happen? Really unacceptable.
The museum was fantastic the young woman Katya who helped me with my ticket could not have been better
Easy to make reservations on line. Easy to find the guide at the Gallery. The guide Dimitri was excellent. This is the best way to enjoy the incredible art at the Borghese Gallery!
The tour guide had in-depth knowledge of art and the history of the museums. She was easy to understand and was engaging
The instructor had an obvious passion for art history and imparted her knowledge to us in an invigorating way.
We walked through the Borghese gardens before our tour of the Gallery. Highly recommend, it was beautiful, like the Central Park of Roma. Our tour guide inside Galleria Borghese was phenomenal, she had degrees - including a PhD - in archeologies and art histories, and an obvious love for the pieces in the gallery. She was very knowledgeable about the various artists and their histories, and pointed out the most exquisite details in the sculptures and paintings, even the former Palace itself. Highly recommend a visit if you have an afternoon in Rome.
We had a great time. My family loved learning about the art and sculpture in the gallery. Our tour guide Virginia was wonderful.
This was a great experience, especially with Smaragda! She was amazing and knowledgeable and so engaging
The Borghese Gallery was amazing and exceeded our expectations. Vincenza was an awesome tour guide. She was very knowledgeable and took time to answer all questions.
This tour was excellent. Smaragda was very knowledgeable and provided so many incites into the Borghese family and the politics and society in which the family and the artists lived. She made the art relevant to the world at that time and even today. Smaragada was both sensitive and thought provoking. We would love to do another tour with her.
