Luciano and Sara were amazing! It was a great experience!! All three cities were unique and beautiful, and I got to see so much more of Italia outside of Roma. I like the freedom of choosing the sites you see, but still get some history about where you’re visiting from your guide. I am so glad I got to visit all three cities however only seeing two would’ve allowed more time to explore and not feel rushed. It would have been nice to have a bite in Civita di Bagnoregio to support the small businesses that reside there, but ran out of time. I would improve it by offering day trip to Assisi and Civita di Bagnoregio or Assisi and Orvieto allowing more time to explore your destinations. These options would also be good for accessibility because Civita di Bagnoregio may be too much of a hike for some people so Orvieto may be a better second destination. Overall, thank you for this amazing tour!

Itinerary
Board a luxury coach in the morning for a comfortable journey accompanied by an expert tour leader who will share historical context and stories about the sites ahead.
Your first destination is the serene hilltop town of Assisi, known as the birthplace of St. Francis, one of Italy’s most revered saints. Upon arrival, you'll have free time to explore this medieval town’s charming streets at your own pace.
Discover this beautiful Gothic basilica dedicated to Saint Clare, a key figure of Franciscan history, and home to her tomb and sacred relics, including the famous Crucifix of San Damiano.
The day’s final stop brings us to Orvieto , dramatically perched atop a volcanic tuff cliff, offering a unique perspective of central Italy's geological and cultural heritage. As the coach approaches, your tour leader will provide a fascinating introduction to this stunning city and its highlights.
Discover this breathtaking Gothic masterpiece, famous for its stunning façade and extraordinary frescoes, including the powerful Last Judgment.
Explore this engineering marvel of the Renaissance, a deep double-spiral well designed to supply water during times of siege.
Once you arrive, you’ll have free time to explore Civita de Bagnoregio ,often called "The Dying City" because of its dramatic cliffside setting and fragile, eroding terrain. Perched atop a volcanic tuff hill and reachable only by a pedestrian bridge, this captivating village offers a truly one-of-a-kind experience. Stroll along its ancient cobblestone paths, admire charming stone houses, and take in sweeping views over the scenic valleys below. Here, you’ll have time to wander its storied streets, visit artisan boutiques, and capture photos of one of Italy’s most dreamlike landscapes.
Relax on the coach as you make your way back to the capital, with the tour leader available for any questions or insights. End your enriching day trip back in Rome, filled with memories of Assisi’s tranquility and Orvieto’s dramatic beauty.

Dicinio is very professional tell us many things about the place, and time management is good, we have a really great time!
There’s a lot of walking up and down hills so wear comfortable shoes. There is plenty of time in each stop to explore. We loved each location.
It's not really a tour, rather transportation to these sites. We got dropped off and were on our own. No skipping long lines , no info at each holy place, and not enough time to really see it all before having to get back to a meeting place. Assisi was especially disappointing, with super long lines . Many in our group saw very little in the allotted 2 hours. Our guide clearly was not Catholic and did not know key info at some places. But you're really paying for the bus not a tour...and when the guide spoke on the bus about where we were going he did so in 3 languages which was very annoying. I would have preferred English only .
This trip is amazing; our guide, Toziano and drivers Simone and Stefan were great. There is quite a bit of walking, especially at Civita. It is a long day. You see the Umbria countryside on the busride between cities. Wheat fields, vineyards, mountains. There is also adequate free time in each place. Toziano gave us info on the important sights and meanings of each stop. He also gave us clear instructions on where our meeting points were and the times to meet.
We had a great experience with Tiziano as our guide! We had a few people who got lost, and he did an excellent job helping to locate and make sure no one got left behind. Excellent trip!
An amazing DIY style group tour, especially thanks to our guide, Tiziano who told us about the history of the various sites we visited and set the expectations perfectly. This tour is very walking heavy so wear a good pair of shoes!
It’s a well thought trip with Assisi in the morning, followed by Civita di Bagnoregio in the afternoon and Orvieto in the evening. Our guide Sylvia is friendly and knowledgeable, she told us many interesting stories along the way. A pleasant one day trip if you want to explore the countryside from Rome.
This tour started from Rome and gave us the chance to visit 3 beautiful historical medieval towns with amazing views and some beautiful cathedrals, plus plenty shopping and food opportunities, in just one day. Be mindful that it will be a long day with a good amount of walking including stairs and inclines. Our guide Sara was very helpful and attentive. She provided basic itinerary and suggestions for each town and gave us a good amount of time to explore on our own. There is no local guide for each location. However, we found this to be flexible so we could explore things at our own pace and preference. We truly enjoyed our day and highly recommend this tour.
Nice cities, very well organized you, Sara, the tour guide was very good, nice and pretty informative. The time allocated to each of the three cities was quite reasonable. Regrettably, when we arrived to Orvieto the Dome was not open to the public, so we could only see it from outside. I will strongly recommend this tour.
Honestly, I was Not nor the others I was sitting with happy with this tour. It was a very long drive and we only got 50 minutes in the town. All were extremely disappointed. Also, the female tour guide clearly did not like her job. Spoke very little then had the gull to ask all of us for a good review so “she gets more tours.” She actually went around the bus and helped people to write the review!!!!🤯
Access to these 3 remote unique cities was an incredible opportunity! Would highly recommend this tour.
This was the best tour ever for Assissi, Civita Di Bagnoregio and Orvieto! He divided our times in each city wisely and efficiently! Our guide Roberto was incredibly caring, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. He has tenacious walker and our driver Luciano who was a great respectable driver! Grazie Mille!
Roberto is really great! 100% recommend! He take his time. Very knowledgeable! Roberto is the perfect tour guy! Luciano the driver really good as well! Driver skill 100%! Thanks guy for the day! Party of 4!
Sara was an excellent guide and our drivers were top notch. Those winding roads and the big bus were not a combination I could manage. This is a great way to see some other areas while based in Rome. Each town is different and has its own unique charm. Seeing St. Francis’ tomb is not something I ever expected to do! And the bridge to Civita, although a strenuous walk, did not trigger any height issues. Sara was impressive with her fluent language skills. Each time she spoke she repeated in all 3 so we always knew what was happening. Kudos to our whole crew today! Would highly recommend!
A wonderful day in the countryside away from the bustle of Rome. Our guide, Sara, was top notch! Very knowledgeable and always able to answer any question. Assisi was more beautiful than expected. Civita was worth the effort to get there. And Orvieto was a perfect end to the day. I would definitely recommend this day to anyone.
Sara is as great. She seamlessly switched from English, to Spanish, and Italian all day. It’s a good tour to do your own thing. You get taken to the destinations with no stress, Sara gives you a summary of the history of each place and the recommendations of what to do and where to eat, then you do your own thing. We enjoyed it.
The tourist guide was professional and informative. The only issue that needed to be modified was the map of the meeting point. We almost missed the bus, because we went to the bus station area as directed by your map instead of the train station area. Other than that, the tour was wonderful! Thank you and keep it up!
The tour includes unique cities rich in history. Our tour guide, Mr. Tiziano, provided us with the necessary information to understand the region we visited, and was also very kind and attentive.
The towns we visited are much more beautiful than I expected. Civita is like a fairy tale, everyone should see it at least once! Our guide Tiziano was really friendly and informative.
I joined this tour with 7 of my family from Japan. We really enjoyed the tour with a very nice guide who is Tiziano. Civita was very hard to walk, but it was amazing view. Thanks to him, we were able to have a very wonderful time all day.
Lisa was fantastic and fluent in both English and Spanish. And moved btwn both languages fluently. She was extremely knowledgeable. She accommodated all our needs and made our trip so very special. She even offered a dinner suggestion after we left the tour!!! Awesome service and fabulous tour
Not clear instructions of where to wait to be picked up. We asked mutiple people with no help. Finally a man that looked after the taxis told us where to wait. We waited an hour, I even called Viator. So we didn’t end up on our tour. Currently applying for a refund so we will see what happens.
Beautiful hillside towns worth the visit, lots of walking or just sit back in the piazza and have a gelato. Long day but enough breaks.
We had a guide who knew the areas we went to, you will go in knowing the area. If you do it all, you will walk around 8 miles between the three sites. Assisi is the first stop - would have liked to have a little more time there, as there are 3 shrines to see/tour, and the farthest one is about a mile from the drop spot. Citiva - get ready for a trek - there is a bridge that is about a mile long and has a very steep incline to it. If you are not in shape, avoid this one - it is a no guts, no glory hike! If you go, it's worth it - the views from the bridge are great - looks like a painted back drop! The view from the town is amazing!! Last stop, Orievto - at least it is level! The shrine there is fantastic, you can take pictures as long as you don't use a flash. Well worth the hike!
This trip was truly amazing! This allowed me to see parts of Italy during my trip I otherwise wouldn’t have been able to see. Every stop was beautiful and had its own charm and uniqueness. My tour guide Lisa was also amazing! I highly recommend this tour!
I love the trip, and Lisa and the driver are professional and courteous. Lisa was well organized and had excellent customer service. She handled difficult situation calmly, and tried to make everyone happy. This is my first time with Amigo Tours, and I am looking forward to look for another tour.
Great and affordable way to see some of the smaller old towns right outside of Rome. It’s a full day for sure. Assisi was my favorite!
We're 7 in the group, the tour was cancelled few days of the scheduled tour by AMIGO TOURS and my credit card was charged the day after they cancelled , with a confirmation attachment of the tour . We were travelling & did not receive any messages and we showed up in the meeting place with another group of AMIGO TOURS going to Florence & PISA . They offered us to join the Florence & Pisa tour but we declined since we've been to those places. We wasted 1 day of our vacation time and spent 80 euros for taxi transportation just to get to the meeting point and waited just to find out that our tours was cancelled .
Tizi was a great tour lead, showed around all the locations with great details of the locations. Locations for meeting spots were chosen to maximize time and avoid problems.
The trip was perfectly arranged. The guide Roberto was enthusiastic throughout the trip and shared a lot of information with us. Everything was so good and the drive was safe. Highly recommended!
Excellent, We went to the places as expected, on our tour. Roberto, our tour guide was Excellent, thoroughly described the places we went, the bus was not crowded. I felt safe with our driver Faustino.
We missed the tour, and I requested a refund for this tour as the directions given to us were unclear. We were at the bus station at 6:40 am and I asked several bus drivers and ticket agents about the tour and they could not tell us where we should go. They told us that we were at the right bus terminal but we could not find the Roma Tiburtina sign. I called the Amigo Tours office but no one picked up. Very disappointing experience considering that I had booked several tours over the past few years with Viator.
Fabulous tour with Tiziano. Fantastic guide. Coach was first class and Luigi was safe and conscientious driver. Highly recommend!
I had such a great time visiting these charming towns with my family. The guide was friendly, and the day was well-paced. The towns were breathtaking, and everything went smoothly from start to finish!
My friend and I had an amazing time on this tour. The towns were beautiful, the guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and the drive was comfortable. It was a perfect day exploring central Italy!
Very good, guide Sara is very nice and knowledgeable about the subject, and the punctuality was great, driver Luciano is a very good professional and provided security throughout the trip
Excellent experience with Sara and Luciano, I highly recommend it
Sarah and Luciano were very kind and super helpful. The 3 cities were very interesting, especially Civita; I think you should mention that it has museums so that people know and can decide if they want to enter them or use the time there just to walk around the city. My mother thinks that you should allow more time in Assisi.
I really liked this tour, Assisi is a place full of spirituality, Orvieto and Bagnoregio are beautiful. I loved the tour and our guide Tiziano was very helpful. It is tiring but it is worth it.
The tour was very good, we left super punctual, the transport was clean and tidy, and not rushed either. Our guide Tiziano was very very kind and a great guide on the tour, honestly we enjoyed the whole experience quite a bit, I do recommend it for something different.
Sara is an incredible guide! She has a lot of knowledge about Italy and the cities we visited, also a great command of languages, she spoke to us in Spanish, English, and Italian. He knows the cities very well and was able to give us good advice on where to eat and what to see.
Sara as a guide and Ruggero as a driver, an incredible team. A spectacular view of the medieval cities near Rome is very enjoyable. Sara's extensive knowledge of Italy and the cities we visited, as well as her language skills, since she spoke in English, Spanish, and Italian on our tour. Lots of communication and clear instructions as well, with very clear advice on what to do and what to see. Ruggero, with his safe and efficient driving, makes you feel secure the whole way and without any problems. Excellent time to get to know the cities.
I loved Sarah our guide, made great explanations. Always very friendly and willing. The 3 cities were wonderful
The cities are extremely beautiful, full of stories, the guide Sara was very kind and friendly, give great suggestions and made the tour dynamic and fun. Very well worth it ✨
Very good. We liked the places (Assis, Orvieto and Bagnoregio). Sara is very kind and explains very well. Rugero is very punctual
The guide makes the trip very easy, gives excellent directions, and is very kind; the trip and the learning experience were incredible, and the driver, Ruggero, was also very punctual.
The guide Sara is great, speaks Spanish and English fluently, and explains everything in detail. It's super punctual and gives great tips.
Although a little tired, was very good the walks, our guide Sara was EXCELLENT, very attentive and helpful. I suggest that EXCLUSIVELY, on the tour to visit the Church of St. Francis of Assisi, both the way and the way back, could be used a "Van", because the older people, surely, would not be able to make this tour.
Dino and Sara were excellent. Very good excursion.
