We had an excellent time touring with Francesco. He personalized the tour for us, which helped us see exactly what we wanted to and without feeling rushed. He even threw in a few extra spots that he thought we would enjoy after getting to know us for ~3 hours. He shared a list of restaurant recommendations, one of which we tried for lunch after our tour — it was delicious! I would highly recommend this tour — well worth the time and money. Our guide Emiliano was very knowledgeable, funny, and easy to talk to. Not only did he give us a fantastic tour of the Appian way but he also indulged us with some personal history of his Roman roots. The tour was the perfect amount of time and we saw multiple sites. The golf cart was the way to go! Back at the office (Via Milano 45) the staff was friendly and helpful right from the get go. The instructions they gave us on parking etc were spot on.

We had a fantastic golf cart tour with Francesco! The tour was exciting, very informative, and incredibly interesting. We learned so much about the history of Rome, especially the treatment and persecution of early Christians and what they endured. Francesca did a great job bringing the history to life and making the entire experience both educational and entertaining. Traveling by golf cart was also a very cool way to see the area and cover a lot of ground. Highly recommend this tour and Francesca!

This was an interesting and fun experience. Touring the catacombs was very interesting. We also stopped at a beautiful church after. It was so fun riding in the golf cart and our tour guide was excellent.

Awesome experience with the golf cart tour with Francesco as our driver. It was customized where we were able to start in the afternoon straight from the morning tour of the Vatican (also with your Local X), suggest that we see the catacombs of San Sebastiano (since our youngest has that name), and end up back to our apartment. There was 4 of us and the tour was in English for us. Francesco arrived with waters and whisked us away, provided commentary of different things that we saw while being driven, made a few stops also with commentary, and also took a few group photos of us. It was interactive where we had conversations with Francesco and can ask questions. We saw a lot of cool things and places. It was a nice break and very different from the Vatican and a bit of a break from all the walking. Our family and kids (teen boys) enjoyed this excursion. I highly recommend.

Francesco was extremely knowledgeable. His passion for history made everything more interesting. His part of the tour was awesome. He picked us up at the hotel and dropped us back off when finished. The only negative is that the Catacombs portion of the tour is not private and not with your guide. You are joined with other folks ~15 and the guide is someone from the Catacombs. That portion of the tour took over an hour away from the private tour.

Our family really liked this golf cart tour. Kristian did a great job explaining the sites that we visited and even sent us a list of his recommended restaurants. We did this on our last afternoon in Rome. We enjoyed riding in a golf cart since we had been walking a lot during the days prior. We were able to go to the catacombs which was a little chilly, quite nice on a hot afternoon.

Gian Marco is a great guide to have on your tour. He really explained in great depth the history and influence of the Appian way in Rome history. He led us to very good experiences and the highlight was the visit to a fully seen circus unlike in Rome that you have to imagine.

Francesco F was incredible! We wanted something a little different than the usual tourist stuff and this tour delivered! Yes, it was one of the more expensive tours we booked but WOW was it worth it! If you are on the fence, book it! And ask for Francesco F!

The tour was a great experience. Francesco was friendly and knowledgeable. He was able share a broad range of history with passion. He made the trip so much more memorable. I thought the highlight would be the catacombs but I’m not sure which was the best. The gate and wall, walking on the Appian Way, the catacombs were all interesting. Francesco F. was the best. He even took time over the next couple days to share some additional interesting locations and walking routes along with restaurant suggestions. Every idea he had was a hit. It was like having a guide customize an itinerary just for us.

Amazing tour saw so many additional sites then just the catacombs and the Appian way. The Roman wall was so much larger than I expected. Our guide Francesco F was so knowledgeable and went above and beyond to answer all our questions. He even provided a detailed walking tour guide of further sites to see after our tour. Excellent tour. Francesco arrived early but we were ready so we got a jump. He stopped several times at bonus spots along the way. Golf cart was the way to go. The cobblestones were a bit bumpy but we could stop in some places a car or bus couldn’t. The catacombs part of the tour was quick but I’m not sure what else we could have seen. It was interesting to see and the guide did a good job explaining things and keeping people comfortable. If you’re claustrophobic, probably not for you. We had a small group of 6 people but sometimes they take 50 per group which would make it feel really small. To be clear, this is at the catacombs, not the rest of the tour. Everything else was private. The wall of Rome might have been the highlight of the tour. It’s in amazing condition and not busy. Although we’re here the end of January so nothing is busy. At the end, Francesco gave us some great suggestions of places to visit and walking routes to see stuff. A+ for him.

We did the private tour with Kristian. It was a lot of fun driving through Rome in a golf cart. It was raining, but it didn't limit us at all. On the way from our hotel, Kristian stopped along the way at a couple of spots. He was a great guide. It didn't take a ton of time to go through the catacombs, but it was an extremely cool experience. We joined a group with a catacombs tour guide for that part. Then we drove around outside the walls to see the Appian way. With our extra time Kristian drove us around Rome and showed us a few more hidden gems, like Aventine Hill where we saw a more than 300 yr old orange tree. There were also some beautiful views of Rome. Overall a very worthwhile experience! Thank you Kristian!

This was a wonderful tour. Our guide, Gabriele, was so knowledgeable and excited to share his knowledge. He picked us up right on time at our flat. He took his time with the tour, was funny, friendly, and accommodating. He even recommended a place to eat and dropped us off there at our request. He was a true gentleman and professional. We did the Appian Way and Catacombs Private Golf Cart Tour in Rome today with Francesco. What a real gem of a tour. Francesco's historical, cultural and geographical knowledge was second to none, delivered in an entertaining and informative way. The Museo Delle Mura was fantastic. Walking up into the tower and along the wall was such a great experience with awesome views and history. Followed by the tour of the Catacombe Di Domitilla which was excellent and then the ruins of the Villa di Massenzio. A short distance away was the section of the Appian Way which has lasted all this time and amazing to see. Again, all outstanding parts of Rome's vast history. If you are looking to see something a bit different when visiting Rome, I would highly recommend this tour and our guide Francesco. It is not far from the central area and going around in the golf buggy was great.

We did this trip with Francesco as our guide . He was absolutely fantastic. He was so informative pointing out so many things on our way . Stopping to give us many photo opportunities as we made our way to the Appian way. Our lady guide to the catacombs was also a fountain of knowledge. Everything about this tour was 5* but Francesco definitely made it even more so. We would recommend this trip to everyone. I’m not that great at walking there are steps down to the catacombs but I just took them at my own pace and didn’t get left behind at all . On the way back to our hotel Francesco even made some more stops to show us things . We thought this trip was worth every penny . We will definitely be doing some more different trips when we return next year .

I don’t even have the words to describe how incredible this tour was. We had the privilege of exploring the Appian Way with Gabriele, and he was hands down the best guide we could have asked for. Beyond being knowledgeable, he was unbelievably hospitable—always prepared for anything and genuinely invested in making sure we had the best experience. A few things that stood out: He had blankets in the car to keep us warm on a chilly, windy morning. He brought water bottles for all of us when we forgot to bring any. He bought us coffee and pastries out of his own pocket—just because. We woke up late and asked for a 30-minute delay, and not only was he totally fine with it, but he extended our tour to a full 4 hours, finishing an hour later than planned without hesitation. Gabriele truly embodies Italian hospitality. He was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed every second of the tour. If you're booking this tour, ask for Gabriele. 12/10 recommend!

This tour was a highlight of our visit to Rome! Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and friendly, encouraging questions and conversation. Because it was just our family of five, we could really personalize our time. This tour was our most expensive tour, but we 100% recommend it. You can’t see the things we saw without transportation and it really gives you such a unique perspective that you would not get otherwise. We learned about Italian culture from our guide and also saw a Bernini piece off the beaten path. Book it! You won’t regret!
