I enjoyed the tour a great deal; both from the sites visited and the fun of riding the bike. I am 68 years old and had never ridden an e- bike. It was much easier to use than I imagined and the assistance it gave could be varied with the simple controls. All the participants were given the opportunity to test ride the bike around the block to ensure we felt comfortable before setting off. Our guide; Silvia was excellent guiding us through the outskirts of the city with clear hand signals to follow and informing us when we would cross roads riding and when we would do so dismounted.. The ride to the start of the (Antique) Appian Way is a fairly short one and included stops outside the Baths of Caracalla and at the Porta San Sebastiano Once you join The Antique Appian Way you experience a variety of surfaces; bitumen, cobbles ( ancient and modern) and dirt tracks. The bikes are well suited for this with wider tyres. You do however have to feel comfortable riding off road on some uneven surfaces. It is amazing how quickly the scenery appears very rural.. The whole area is a protected park of 4,500 hectares. As it was a Sunday , plenty of people were out walking and riding and enjoying the sunshine.. Silva took us to the Catacombs of St Callisto, provided a ticket and ensured we joined the right language tour (English for me and Italian for the other 2 in our group) The catacomb tour was very interesting and took about 40 minutes. After that we had stops on the ancient Appian way and alongside the Circus (and Villa) of Maxentius, the tomb of Cecilia Metella, the Villa of the Quintilii and then the Aqueducts. At each stop Silvia gave us history and background and time for photographs. My tour included lunch which was at the Spring of Egeria. People were filling their water bottles by the dozen (for 10c a litre) from long rows of taps dispensing still and sparkling water. We could fill our water bottle for free. We sat in a fairly rustic setting and enjoyed delicious BBQ meats with salad, followed by an espresso or macchiato. The ride after lunch took us back to the bike shop via some of Aurelian Wall . The whole experience was 5 hours. Silvia was a vibrant guide, full of vitality and good humour. She clearly enjoys her vocation. I heartily recommend this tour!

Bruno was a great guide. We learned how to use the bikes easily. He was very informative. The tour was fantastic, and the lunch was great. I’d highly recommend this tour.
Staff could better coach new e-bike users before deciding they are unable to participate and not refunding tickets.
Best experience of our 10-day trip to Italy! Felipe was such a welcoming and knowledgeable host, and the tour itself took us to amazing locations that we never would have seen without a local guide and e-bike to cover lots of ground. We were blown away by the beautiful locations. The catacomb tour and aperitivo with snacks at a local park were the cherry on top of an otherwise incredible tour. I’d highly recommend it for anyone who loves natural beauty, ancient history, local gems, and has the time to spend doing the full tour. Felipe was friendly and attentive to our safety, explaining everything in advance and making sure we had the best experience we could. Making the acquaintance of a local was a very valuable aspect of the overall experience! 10/10, and I would recommend to anyone visiting the city!!!
Our guide, Sylvia, was amazing. Getting used to the e-bike was a breeze, although you need to be in halfway decent shape.
Fantastic trip and such a unique and wonderful experience in the parts of Rome that we would otherwise never visit. Highly recommend for everyone who likes to bike! Not too difficult and electric bike is a game changer. Thanks Silvia for a great tour!!
Had a fantastic day with Bruno! Bikes were in great shape and easy to use even for a first timer. The pace was just right. Bruno was the perfect blend of information, humor, and time to just enjoy the ride. I did the catacombs and lunch option - the whole day was full of pleasant surprises. I have no suggestions for improvement.
Overall good, but beware this is not a simple ride out in the country. Pros: unique opportunity to experience the beautiful areas outside of the mania of Rome. Beautiful neighborhoods and parks to ride thru. Learned some new things with commentary when we stopped. Great bikes. Cons: Appian Way is filled with cobblestones. Be ready to be jiggled! There was quite a bit of riding in and through busy Rome traffic. We felt unsafe quite a few times during the ride. Tip: stay close to your guide or you may be required to ride thru confusing traffic signals and roundabouts by yourself.
I would do this again tomorrow! Lovely tour. Silvia was a terrific guide. Seeing the acquaducts and the Appia Antica were bucket list activities for me and doing it on bike made it extra special. Highly recommend!
Such an amazing introduction to Rome without the crowds! We learnt so much about the history of the area, and saw how Rome evolved, away from the inner city. The best part of our trip!!
Overall a decent tour, a lot of riding in town which is not ideal. The appliance way was incredible, as were the aqueducts. Just so little time with each. The catacombs were very interesting, kind of a weird combo with the aqueducts. We were happy to be able to see and learn about them. Our guide Zach was incredible. Such a nice young man, with incredible knowledge.
It was some major biking! City, country, bad paths and roads like mountain biking almost but our awesome guide Bruno AKA Mario Andretti did great and kept us safe! It was amazing trip to see all these sights!
This was easily one of the most memorable experiences of our time in Rome. Our Appian Way & Aqueducts E-Bike Tour gave us a completely different perspective on the city, and Zak was an absolutely fantastic guide. He was knowledgeable, personable, patient, and clearly passionate about the history of Rome. He had a great way of explaining what we were seeing without ever making it feel like a history lecture. He brought the history to life while keeping the entire experience relaxed and fun. The e-bikes were fantastic and made exploring such a large area incredibly enjoyable. Before long, we were away from the busy center of Rome, riding along ancient roads and through the countryside with thousands of years of history surrounding us. Riding the Appian Way was incredible, and seeing the enormous Roman aqueducts stretching across the landscape was one of the highlights. You can see photographs of these places, but actually riding alongside them while Zak explained their history gives you an entirely different appreciation for what the Romans accomplished. The catacombs were another fascinating part of the experience and gave us a glimpse into a completely different chapter of Roman history. What really made the day special was the combination of everything—the bikes, the countryside, the Appian Way, the aqueducts, the catacombs, the food, and especially Zak. It never felt like we were simply moving from one attraction to another. It felt like we were actually riding through the history of Rome. If you're visiting Rome and want to experience something beyond the usual sightseeing, do this tour. And if you get Zak as your guide, even better. One of our favorite experiences in Italy. Highly recommended!
Amazing tour with great sites and history. The e-bikes are great and our guide was amazing. We got to see city, countryside, and historic sites. Highly recommend.
Really enjoyed this tour. It was very interesting and so fantastic to see parts of Rome that I might otherwise have missed. Our guide was amazing, ensuring that everyone was safe, especially our 14 yr old granddaughter. Had a lovely lunch, the natural spring water and grappa coffee a real bonus
This was so enjoyable Bruno was a great guide many good details along the way and kept us safe even through traffic and the rain
Felipe is a great guide. He kept us safe while biking and was very informative on all of the sites and stops we saw. Definitely recommend this bike tour.
Amazing day! Loved the guide, unique look at Rome, and the gorgeous scenery. What a day, highly recommend.
We have done many tours in Italy and this one really stands out! It was unique, and such a fun and also informative tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and the bike ride and scenery was something we will not forget. Do not hesitate to book.
The trails, aqueducts, and catacombs are amazing and a highlight of our trip. Zack was a great guide and made frequent stops to talk to us about different things and answer our questions. Food at the end was quite tasty and ample for dinner (along with a recommendation of gelato).
Amazing morning with Silvia as our guide! Highly recommend this experience. Everything from the ride, explanations, views, etc. was excellent.
Fantastic tour! 5 hour e-bike tour we began at 3pm in July heat and was very pleasant change from walking around. Our older teen boys loved it too. Adrianna was fantastic and a wealth of info and really kept us engaged. The route was gorgeous and well planned. Catacombs were cool and the aqueduct park gorgeous. We learned so much. The biking was a bit challenging at times due to ancient bumpy stone roads and a bit of mountain bike trails but we all managed it and Adrianna guided us well. Stopped for appetizers and a drink at perfect time and was overall just a fantastic experience!
Went with 16yo son, it ended up being just the two of us and we both loved it! The e-bikes were super comfortable and we rode through city, suburbs, parks, as well as the Appian Way and out to Aqueducts. Great way to see a lot of different settings, learn about some history and way cooler and more relaxing than walking. Teenager’s favorite activity in Rome.
This was a great way to see parts or Rome you cannot see by car or train. The guide was informative and the electric bikes made the ride enjoyable. There are some bumpy rocky parts to this ride so please know it’s not all flat.
Amazing experience solo! Get to get away to the quiet countryside area! Seeing the aqueducts and mausoleums was surreal.
Excellent! Beautiful experience. Mattia was so helpful with booking. Iman was incredibly knowledgeable and thoughtful. Thank you
I wasn’t able to join due to Burno having concerns that I couldn’t go fast enough to keep up with the group. So me and my husband paid $201 for nothing.
Did the tour with my 16 yr old son and we both thoroughly enjoyed the tour led by Andriana. We had a wonderful day- fantastic tour with a friendly and very informative guide …Andriana and shop team were friendly and very supportive- great job and highly recommended and would definitely use again. Not a hard ride with electric bikes that are all in tip-top condition.
Such a FUN tour!!! Our family had an amazing time on this tour. Great food also included. I highly recommend to anyone traveling to Rome.
Absolute highlight of Rome! Informative and fun guide, great bikes, learnt and saw so much!
The roads were mostly with other vehicles—-I had a different image of that—-and some of the tour was on very busy roads. The guide kept us safe, but it seemed evolved a bit more anxiety (of the navigating traffic when most other vehicles are way larger than you) type. The guide was very knowledgeable, but the terrain wasn’t as smooth as I anticipated. I’ve done bike tours in Paris, London, Barcelona, Madrid, Berlin, and Munich, and this was the most difficult mentally due to the traffic and terrain that was easy to fall on. It was not physically difficult, and our guide tried to prepare us. One person fell twice and I (and I and I suspect others) had some close calls. I think it’s just the nature of the route, but I wasn’t prepared. Our guide was fabulous though, an archeologist, knowledgeable about the area. But, the park itself, even when there is not traffic, is a bit harrowing. It was the most difficult tour of all the other city tours that I’ve taken (see above) for comparison. Distance was fine, particularly with the E-bikes.
What an incredible way to explore the Appian Way, Catacombs and Aquaducts! Out guide was knowledgeable and made thoughtful stops along the way for water breaks in the shade. The heatwave did not slow us down! Highly recommend!
Best experience in Rome. Loved getting out of the city and away from crowds. Quality e-bikes, great ride!
Such a great tour! I recommend. It took us away from the city center and into a more peaceful part of Rome. The E-Bikes were an easy way to get around. Our guide Silvia was awesome! Learned a lot of cool things, got to ride by the aqueducts, and was treated to nice dinner and drink at the end.
One of our favorite excursions while in Rome. Our guide Sylvia was great and we really enjoyed the e-bikes and great weather.
Hands down one of the best tours that we did in Rome. You will be biking 15 miles but with e bikes with pedal assist it’s a breeze! Sylvia was a great guide and made sure safety was first and foremost. We saw the catacombs, aquadects, beautiful scenery that you wouldn’t otherwise see on a regular guided tour. Group was small. Highly recommend!
Sylvia was a wonderful guide. Able to negotiate many types of personality with ease. Trip was fun. Great to get away from the heat of Rome and see the countryside and soak up the history.
The e bikes make this dooable for all ages and skills on a bike. The catacombs were amazing and so was the whole tour
Phenomenal! Our guide was great, knowledgeable, fun, light hearted. Kept us safe but not too controlling. Good pace. E bikes are so fun! I think this would be somewhat challenging if you didn’t feel really comfortable on a bike. There is some off roading, some city navigating. Highly recommend this!
This tour was amazing. Everything from the guide, to the equipment, to the route to the meal/ just 5-star
We had the most amazing time with Silvia our tour guide. She was firstly just so lovely, friendly, kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and wonderful!!!! She helped us firstly understand the bike and get confident on it, she was so informative and knowledgeable about everything we saw, she answered all our questions, she was constantly offering to take photos and videos of everyone at every stop. The tour showed us some absolutely beautiful scenes and places. The e-bikes were effortless in the 32 degree heat and there was a breeze when cycling, as I initially was a little nervous when I saw we were meant to be doing our tour in the middle of the day, in 32 degrees sunshine but it didn’t feel like that even once as the e bikes were so easy and effortless to use. This was the highlight of our trip to Rome, and we went to thank you so much for the tour and recommend that everyone does this when they visit Rome.
Silvia is a live wire of energy, fun, encouragement, positivity, stamina and knowledge. She led our tour with a lot of finesse as she created a very warm informal vibe right upfront. She trained a few of us who had not used ebikes before very very well. Her instructions were always very clear and made the whole tour a lot of fun. She especially cared a lot for me, helping me with pictures and videos through the way and patiently explaining things to just me when I needed more understanding . She has almost become a friend. I absolutely loved this tour and highly recommend everyone to take it. Top notch ebikes too.
When we crossed a busy intersection, Iman made sure we crossed safely. He provided delicious lunch for the group. We got a tour of the catacombs and experienced the 2000 year old Appian way. Iman was very informative, friendly, and sometimes funny. Me and my group had a lot of fun despite one group member… but we won’t go there. Overall super fun experience, definitely recommend. Iman provided water and we refilled it along the way a couple times.
Highlight of our Rome visit! Great to get out of the busy city center, learn and experience the history of Rome from another perspective. You get out of the tourist zone and enjoy the natural surroundings among modern Roman citizens.
Excellent experience! Our guide Bruno provided instructions for each leg of the trip and what to expect such as turns, uphill, downhill, etc. The pace was good and we had several stops to take pictures of sights along the way. After riding for about an hour, there is an hour break from riding for guided underground catacomb tour. The Aqueduct Park was great and not crowded. A pasta lunch is included with the tour then it is about half an hour ride back to the bike shop. Guide was professional, provided good instructions and was knowledgeable about the sites.
If you have any issues with balance or depth perception, this is not the tour for you. I found out the hard way-3 crashes on the e bike. HOWEVER our guide Silvia was so caring, supportive and funny. My lifelong dream of seeing an aqueduct was realized. The countryside is gorgeous and who knew there was a "jungle" just outside of Rome? We had a second tour planned that day and the owner came early to escort us back to the meeting point. All in all a wonderful experience, despite my clumsiness.
Our guide was informative and had a great dry sense of humor. Always on the watch for our small group’s safety. Not for a casual biker—very bumpy at times and narrow openings. The e-assisted bike helped but it was work. So much fun and fantastic way to see the aqueduct park and countryside of Roma.
Excellent experience . The e-bikes made it easy to ride over the cobblestones and the appian way. Silvia was amazing! So full of energy and history and you can tell she takes great pleasure in sharing her knowledge! She went at a great pace for the whole group. The company was easy to communicate with . I am booking a second trip with them !
Absolutely Fantastic!!!! Our family loved the ride and the experience was extraordinary! Our guide Bruno was extremely informative and helpful before, during and even after the ride. The whole team was great and I would recommend this ride 100% plus. Thank you for an awesome time.
Our guide was excellent. Kept us safe and was very knowledgeable about the sites she took us to see. Would highly recommend this trip to others.
