Ancient Rome Guided Tour: Colosseum, Forum And Palatine & Pick Up

Our tour of the Coliseum, Palatine Hill, and the Forum was fantastic! Mahmoud was our guide. He was extremely knowledgable and attentive to the needs of our group. The pick up was very late and my husband and I were worried we weren’t going to make it on time, but we called and they assured us the driver would arrive soon, which he did.

We were part of the tour group 127, which was an exceptional tour made perfect by our gem of a guide Alessandra (127). It was interesting and truly incredible, made special by the interactive style of our guide. Couldn't recommend more!

Transportation is only from hotel to the tour. One must figure out how to get back to hotel on your own

You will walk farther than you may realize. Some of the street pavers that date back to the ancient Roman's are large and difficult to navigate. It reminded me of walking across river stream rocks, but nut wet or slippery.

A superb experience today. Our guide Alessandra (11) was exceptional. Her knowledge throughout the tour was remarkable and we are extremely grateful that we had such a perfect guide. While the cost of a guide and dedicated entry may seem expensive, it was worth every single penny - if you are travelling to such a historic city, you have to make it worth it. We all learnt so much from today and we made memories that will last forever. Grazie mille!

Wear running shoes walking is on cobblestones marble slabs . Our tour guide Marcello V very knowledgeable and made people feel comfortable. Learned lots in 3 hours.. loved it

The ride pickup was so-so, we had over 10 mins left before scheduled pickup time & we got numerous calls the ride would be leaving without us - NOT OK!!!! Manuel was our tour guide & was AMAZING!!! The topic and sights are hard to beat! Our guide did well keeping us in the shade, but did not have great strategies for keeping the group together or speaking to us. Simple things like counting family units instead of individuals can really make a difference!

Great tour guide and visit to the ruins. Well organized distribution system that made going on the tour easy. One word of caution that was not stressed by Viator but other guests who booked on different services were aware of--it pulled my name from the profile and did not reflect the passport (Bill vs William). Took a supervisor at the coliseum who understood that it was a nickname and allowed me in. Not the tours fault, and we really enjoyed the day seeing the highlights. Guide was very knowledgeable and kept it interesting and helped the stressed participants in the high heat to get water and shade.

We had an amazing time. Our guide Alasandra ( hope I have that correctly) was wonderful. Very knowlegdeable and very kind. She taught us so much about the history and made us appreciate all the wondeful places even more. Would recommend to anyone to do this trip. It was alot of walking on uneven grounds so make sure you are able to handle that.

Tour guides make or break an experience. Unfortunately, our guide was just plain boring. My group also had a lovely elderly woman with us. It seemed as if everyone in my group was much more concerned about whether she was okay, than my tour guide was. None of us were in a rush and were happy to move slow enough for her to keep up. Well no one except our guide. And the fact that she was rushing so that she could say, "Go over there and look at FILL IN THE BLANK" as opposed to sharing any valuable information, made it all the more lackluster. There were a few bright moments, but overall couldn't say that I would wholeheartedly recommend this tour. I say that with the realization that a different tour guide at the same company who might have done a stellar job, just wasn't my experience.

We had Christina (number 12 if that is relevant) as our tour guide and she was the best guide we have ever had. Her knowledge of the Colosseum was incredible. She told amazing and insightful stories. Highly recommend her and this tour!!!

Christina was very knowledgeable also accomodating - she never rushed us and was very friendly. She answered questions with ease and was clearly an expert being an archaeologist.

We had a lovely walking tour of the Colosseum, Forum and Palatine. Our tour guide was super kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. We were worried that finding the group would be hard or that the whole place would be too crowded but it was quite easy. Our tour guide, Selenie did great and was able to navigate through the craziness that is Roman tourism!

Zarah was a very knowledgeable, energetic, enthusiastic and courteous guide. She guided us through the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill at the right pace with appropriate short breaks. She answered many of our questions. It was almost 2.5 hrs tour. We highly recommend Zarah as a tour guide.

The guide, Daniel, was fantastic. He was friendly, knowledgeable and had a good sense of humour. The tour path was well thought out and skip the line tickets were worth it. While the pick up was a good idea, we were told to be ready at 13:30 and were not picked up until 14:15. Otherwise, would have been 5/5!

Yuri, the guide, was ineffective in providing the complete. He had a difficult time keeping the group informed and became agitated when several members were not engaged. Yuri’s presentation speed and language delivery was hard to understand.
