Monica was terrific! We went to the outdoor market and the butcher and picked out all fresh ingredients. Then walked back to the house and made an unbelievably delicious 4 course meal. It was just the 2 of us and we learned so much.
Monica was our tour guide and cooking guide. She took us to pick out our produce that we use to cook for fabulous dishes. She is a talented tour guide cook and historian. I highly recommend the store and Monica.
We spent a lovely day walking to the market and then going to Christian’s home to make Cavatelli con pomodorini, peperoni salsiccia e pecorin, Ravioli alle zucchine, stuffed meat loaf called Polpettone di carne, and a wonderful dessert called Pesche al vino bianc. Christian’s home was once owned by a famous architect and the decor was very nice.
We chose this class on a recommendation from a friend and we were not disappointed. Our Chef Monica was fantastic. Very personable and a joy to learn from. She answered all our naive questions and was encouraging throughout. The food she prepared, with modest prep work by us, was some of the best we had in our trip. She was also great with grabbing candid photos of us throughout our evening which are great memories. Would highly recommend this class, one of the highlights of our time in Rome.
They canceled on me last minute. Very disappointing.
My husband and I took a cooking class with Roberto. He was such a great guide from beginning to end. He was a great teacher in the kitchen and our meal was fabulous. 10 out of 10 recommend!
Everything was great. The meet up spot was a little confusing, but it all worked out. Well, we met up with Roy our chef and instructor. He took us shopping for the ingredients that we would need for the cooking class. It was an enjoyable walk and shopping trip through the open market. Once at the class site of the environment was comfortable. It was cool, considering it wasa very hot day. The instructions are easy to follow along and fun. Roy is an exceptional chef with a talent for teaching and explaining why certain things done. And he made two husbands who ordinarily never cook into great sous chefs in just a couple of short hours. We highly recommend this class and it was very enjoyable and it made us want to go home and re-create the moment. We had a blast lots of laughsand would definitely do it again thank you so much to Roy.
Francesco e Nadim were excellent! From the start to finish was an excellent experience! The quality of food was great! I recommend this this experience highly.
Recently I went on a trip to Italy with my mother and my godmother. Our first stop was Rome. There were many stunning historical sites and wonderful restaurants that filled our time in the city, but none of it was as memorable as the day we took a cooking class. My mother and godmother are both women who love to cook, but I am the type of girl who should not be trusted to chop vegetables without supervision. I was nervous about embarrassing myself or simply not enjoying the experience. We were picked up at a meeting point by the chef we were going to be taught by that day, Roy. He was personable and charismatic, making introductions and conversation easy. By the time we started shopping for fresh ingredients, we had already learned so much about life in Italy from Roy. The class took place in a comfortable home located in a scenic Italian village. It was private, personal, and perfect for a long class. We washed our hands, put on our aprons, and sipped wine while Roy made some final adjustments to the kitchen. We made multiple authentic Italian dishes, and all of them turned out absolutely delicious. Throughout the entire experience, Roy was able to keep us smiling and laughing while still teaching us valuable knowledge about the meals we were making. Despite my initial fears, I never felt embarrassed about my lack of experience in the kitchen. This class would not have been a highlight of our trip without Roy. The passion he has for cooking is obvious, and it is clear that he enjoys sharing it with others. By the end of the class I didn't feel like I was being supervised by a chef, I felt like I was making a meal with a friend. He even gave me advice, imparting wisdom that I can bring with me to my first year of college this fall. After returning home from this trip, my mom and I recreated one of the pasta recipes that Roy made with us. Without the fresh Italian ingredients (and Roy's skilled assistance) it wasn't quite the same, but it brought back memories of fun conversation and amazing food. I would recommend any group traveling to Italy to take a class from this company. You will be able to eat delectable meals that you made, and you will leave with fond memories of an unforgettable Italian cooking experience.
My wife and I were In Rome for a 40th anniversary. The cooking class was fantastic and what we created was amazing. There were only 4 in our group and we made fast friends. Through serendipity our class was actually taught by Fabio himself! Thank you so much to Fabio and Paulo for a wonderful experience!
Went here with my family of five while visiting Rome. My children are young adults now so we thought this would be fun. We were not disappointed. We had a great time. Monica was our main teacher with Niko as the other teacher. They were fun and class was great. We made ravioli and cavetelli. Crazy how easy it actually is. They walked us through each step. Making the pasta was VERY hands on. The sauce was partially hands on(we prepped the ingredients and helped a bit). There was wine:water/juice/soft drinks as you pleased to make the day even more fun. The ravioli was prepared in a light sauce with ingredients that I wouldn’t imagine would taste that way. The cavetelli in a traditional tomato sauce. Both were delicious, the wine went down easy and the other people outside of our family were fun, which made the experience even better. Also they suggested Fabio’s restaurant “That’s Amore” (which was right around the corner from our hotel) and that too was a great experience which it it even better). Five stars all the way. A fun and delicious experience at a reasonable cost
This was so fun! Francesco made it an unforgettable learning experience! We learned to make cavatelli pasta, polpettone, and a balsamic strawberry dessert.. so good!
Francesco was our expert chef. He guided us through the market and showed us how to shop for fresh ingredients. Then he showed us to a very unique and "secret" apartment with a beautiful kitchen. He guided us through making 3 different dishes, plus a dessert. Everything was simple and fun to make, plus it tasted incredible! This was a one of a kind experience and Francesco was a great host throughout! Would highly recommend!
Awesome morning and experience with the food. Francesco was fantastic. He’s fun and very knowledgeable! Very impressive class!
This was a fabulous experience and I would recommend this to anyone and everyone!
Great experience cooking and dining highly recomend
Roberto was fabulous. We started our day with Roberto meeting us at the local market, introducing himself, asking us questions about ourselves, food allergies and explaining the local market. Our shopping in the market was enjoyable and educational. Roberto explained many of the local grocers, what they offered and how it would add to our cooking experience. From the market, we walked to the “professional kitchen”. The location is absolutely gorgeous, the kitchen was quite comfortable, modern, very clean, well lit and a fantastic inviting atmosphere. After washing our hands and explaining all the items in the menu for that day we started the fun. Very informal, no pressure, lots of great conversation, laughter and genuine fun. We made Cavetelli, gnocchi, ravioli, stuffed meatloaf, potatoes and a strawberry dessert. We learned just how much fun being in a kitchen with an experienced, patient, professional chef can be. After the meal was done cooking Roberto, poured us wine, and served us the quality 5 star meal we created. Many wonderful memories from a day in the kitchen. Next to the coliseum tour this was a great way to spend a day in Rome, learning the food, culture and just having lots of fun. Thank you Roberto for such a wonderful experience.
Victoria was amazing and to be able to make several dishes was an experience I will remember forever. Very special and very delicious! Highly highly recommend!!!
Which recipe would YOU follow to give confidence to a ‘cook’ who’d probably win Worst Cooks in America?? THIS ONE!!! This cooking class was stellar in every way possible. Head Chef Francesco with his trainee, Emanuel, went out of his way to make my sister and me feel very welcome. We were greeted warmly and began the class with a lovely glass of wine at 10 in the morning…”When in Rome…”!! Unlike many classes with only perfunctory exposure to real recipes, this class featured three different pastas, three different sauces as well as a traditional meat course with potatoes. A delicious dessert provided the perfect dénouement. Chef Francesco worked to create a memory that we will use over and over again in our own kitchens, that will amaze our friends and family. In my case, it will not only amaze them, it will shock them that I haven’t poisoned them!! Thank you, Chef Francesco and assistant Emanuel for making our time in Rome so fun. Without reservation, we recommend this culinary experience!
Incredible value for money 4 hours very well spent great teacher great workshop with lovely lunch to wrap it up
We had an excellent experience learning to make different pastas and sauces. Francesco was fantastic!! 5 stars and more!!
The experience was great fun. Chef Roberto was very friendly and informative. Loved going to the small local shops to buy the ingredients needed to cook the meal. Definitely worth the time and money.
We were taken through Campo De Fiori where we sampled cheese and bread and shopped for the ingredients for our cooking lesson. We made three types of pasta, ravioli, gnocchi and semolina shells with three different sauces . We also made a large polpetti filled with mortadella and cheese finished with gravy and marinated peaches for dessert. We were guided by a Michelin chef to make this amazing food and ate it for lunch with a crisp glass of wine. We could not recommend this more highly . Fantastic day and wonderful skills were taught. We learnt lots about how to infuse flavour and Italian culture.
10/10 recommend the cooking class!! Monica Sr was amazing and so knowledgeable!!! We were in Italy for 10 days and it was honestly our favorite meal! We learned so much and will definitely be back!!
This was suggested by our hotel and it did not disappoint. Monica met us at the local market where we shopped for ingredients and then made three types of pasta, meatloaf and dessert that we had for lunch. It was a wonderful experience and we thoroughly enjoyed our class with Monica! We definitely will be back for additional classes.
Cooking experience and food was amazing! Roberto shared tips and tricks and was a great teacher. Definitely recommend
Absolutely terrific class with Roberto making several pastas and a main course as well as dessert. We loved our own cooking!
We had the most fabulous meal! Roberto is an amazing chief. He was so warm and friendly as well as a great teacher! I highly recommend this cooking class. Don’t miss it!!
Roberto was the consummate host and chef. Very patient and supportive of our first experience making pasta. The session was held in a completely renovated apartment in a medieval town near room. And all was delicious.
Excellent Italian culinary lesson. Francesco was not only fantastic in the kitchen but his personality was amazing as well. I would highly recommend.
Roberto was great! We had such a nice time shopping in the market for our ingredients and he was such a great teacher. Learned how to make pasta in Italy and would totally do again
This was one of the absolute best highlights of our family’s 2 week trip to Italy! Roy was an absolute delight, keeping both parents and pre-teen kids engaged and entertained as we all walked through markets, made different types of pasta, and sliced and diced our way through multiple dishes. Roy also did a great job capturing lots of pictures for us to share with family back home…who want to join us next time we do this! It’s a great change of pace for the kids from the usual travel itineraries. Can’t recommend highly enough!
Great time: a real chef who sublimates a menu with his tricks that he shares without worries. Not to mention his sympathy!
