We used Rome in Limo in 2018 when we traveled with our daughter Sara to Italy and had the best trip ever. We returned this year with my sister and her husband and used Rome in Limo for all of our Italy destinations. We were not disappointed. We stayed an additional few days and went to a winery in Montepulciano. Our driver was Marco and we had a wonderful time. We will use this company again and again, and referred several of our friends. They will customize your trip especially to your liking and provide knowledgeable and local drivers and guides. Highly recommend!!!

Itinerary
We will make your way to the historical center of Rome. Your first stop will be at the National Monument of Vittorio Emanuele II in stunning Piazza Venezia.
You will not find any other place in the world that celebrates the ever-mutating and incredible power of water like Rome. The Trevi Fountain is a fantastic work of art that is much more than a mere sculpture.
The Roman Pantheon is the monument with the greatest number of records: the best preserved, with the biggest brick dome in the history of architecture and is considered the forerunner of all modern places of worship. It is the most copied and imitated of all ancient works.
The most outstanding square of the Baroque period in Rome features Bernini's Fountain of Rivers at its center as it faces Borromini's church, Sant' Agnese in Agone.
The Piazza di Spagna (English: Square of Spain) is one of Rome’s most renowned squares. The name comes from the Palazzo di Spagna, the seat of the Spanish Embassy for the Vatican located on this square since the seventeenth century.
The Vatican Museums, located in the Vatican City State, have been included in the list of the most important museums in the world and visiting them represent an essential stage for those who visit Rome. Inside the Vatican Museums we now find the collections that over time the popes have accumulated, in addition to the great masterpieces of all time that have become the precious testimony of an era.
The Sistine Chapel is one of the greatest treasures of the Vatican City, of Rome and of the world in general. It is known as much for its decoration, as for being the temple in which popes are chosen and crowned. Some of the most important artists who worked in the chapel are Botticelli, Perugino, Luca and Michelangelo.
The Roman Forum was where religious and public life in ancient Rome took place. The Forum is, along with the Colosseum, the greatest sign of the splendour of the Roman Empire that can be seen today. After the fall of the Empire, the Roman Forum was forgotten and little by little it was buried under the earth. Although in the 16th century the existence and location of the Forum was already known, it was not until the 20th century that excavations were carried out. Interestingly, the place where the Forum was built was originally a marshy area. In the 6th century B.C. the area was drained by means of the Cloaca Maxima, one of the first sewer systems in the world. Points of inte
The Capitoline Hill is the smallest and most important of the seven hills of Ancient Rome. As the political and religious heart of Rome the hill became a symbol of Rome's reign as Caput Mundi, capital of the world. Today the hill still symbolizes the heart of Rome and it is the perfect starting point for a visit of the Eternal City.

Having never been in Rome or Italy, we placed our 2 days in the hands of Rome in Limo, from the airport pickup to visiting the Vatican on day one, to touring the Colosseum and other great sites the second day, then the ride to catch the cruise boat in Citivecchia. We couldn't have been happier. They provided all the services they promised and more. We did not reserve a guide, but our driver, Stefano, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful when it came to the history and factual information of Rome. We would highly recommend this service to all.
I highly recommend Rome In Limo for their transfers and tours. I decided to take my granddaughter on her first international trip and Rome was the destination. I used Rome In Limo for a transfer over ten years ago and decided to reach out to them again for help in getting tickets and transport. What a great choice! From the moment I filled out my Rome In Limo online request, I was in Jany’s good hands. She quickly connected with me and was eager and ready to make my trip an exceptional and personal experience. Rome In Limo doesn’t just give you a cookie cutter type of tour. It’s all about you and your preferences. The three day tour I picked was tweaked to accommodate a transfer from the airport and sights were moved around to make the most of our time. They gave us a reputable ticket agent to secure Vatican and Basilica tickets and coordinated the tour timing with our guide. Stefano, our driver for two days couldn’t have been better. He was professional, warm, friendly, flexible and knowledgeable about all the sights and Rome’s history. We had a couple special places we wanted to go to and it was no problem at all. We wanted to go into the pantheon and trevi fountain and needed tickets, Stefano quickly and easily secured our tickets for us taking our stress away! After two days with him we came away feeling like we had been traveling with a good friend not just a tour guide. Guilia our guide for the Vatican and St, Peter’s was just as prompt, knowledgeable, warm and friendly, weaving us through the massive crowds and showing us the most important exhibits. Jany, Stefano and Guilia made our Rome experience exceptional. Whatever we needed was handled quickly and seamlessly. What I really appreciated was the level of communication, Jany was always available to answer and reassure me about any concern or question I had. I never felt alone from the moment I made my first request until our final goodbye. It was an awesome feeling to know the Rome In Limo team truly cared about us and wanted to make our trip special, we weren’t just another customer.
Let me be clear, this tour company gives A++ service. Absolutely no reservations at all about how well they take care of you. This is absolutely the only company I will use on future visits to Rome and Italy. We first used their services in 2014, when my father-in-law used them for our family vacation to Italy. They were wonderful then, and they are spectacular now. They earn your respect and trust immediately, when following your booking a scheduled phone call from the director helps him guide you through what packages best suit your needs. They are accommodating to special circumstances and individual desires. Communication via email is seamless and always closes the loop. "Jany" who I corresponded with, is an angel from heaven. She guided me through every step, helped us avoid pitfalls, provided invaluable advice on tour visits, restaurants and obtaining tickets to the most sought after venues in the Eternal City. I am truly grateful for her empathy and patience as I organized my family's trip. Nights, weekends or holidays, Jany replied in timely fashion (6hr time difference not withstanding). She is the gold star that shines for Rome in Limo. We booked transfer from the airport to Rome, the 2 Day Rome and Vatican with Guide, transfer to port of Civitavecchia, and Pompeii/Sorrento tours. Pickup and transfers were flawless. Pick up in large Mercedes Van with cold water waiting. They helped with all the luggage and were otherwise exactly what you want going to/from the plane or cruise ship. Day 1 of the Rome 2 Day we were picked up by our driver/guide Piero. I was provided with his phone number, and he was early picking us up. He spoke perfect English. He was able to adjust our tour based on things we had already seen and catered to our desires. Truly, he was wonderful in navigating the chaos of Rome's streets. His Roman accent eloquently described the sites and areas of Rome we visited, providing interesting facts and wonderful anecdotes abut sculptures, paintings and cathedrals. He was very impressed that we requested to see Caravaggio and Michelangelo's Moses, and he eagerly obliged these requests. He brought us to a trattoria for a wonderful outdoor lunch and finished our day with a picturesque overlook of the city of Rome from the 8th hill, "Janiculum Hill". My family fell in love with Rome and Piero - he did a superb job. Day 2 was the Vatican Tour, and our assigned guide was Chiara. Having a tour guide and pre-purchased our tickets for the Vatican and Basilica we scooted right into the Vatican after opening. Chiara was wonderful and patient. She understood right away that we needed to go slowly through the museum as my elderly mother had injured her ankle and was having difficulty walking. She helped us navigate and avoid stairs, using the elevators whenever possible. She had fantastic stories and details about the amazing sculptures, paintings and tapestries. It is clear she loves what she does as it shines from her. "Allora...", We could not have asked for a better guide. In Naples, we were greeted by Alex at the port to take us to Pompeii and Sorrento. We had arranged a morning visit to Pompeii, followed by a drive down the coast to Sorrento. Alex lives along the coast and was very proud to tell us all about the area. His English was perfect, and he was a wonderful driver and guide. He indulged me with practicing my Italian (which is terrible) and kept everyone's interest describing the views and history of the towns along the coast. He gave great recommendations for lunch and for shopping, and was easily accessible by phone. Our day with Alex left us feeling as we had just made a new friend. We were all impressed with his knowledge and thankful for his safe transport up/down the coast. If you read this far, then it should be clear that Rome in Limo provided excellent service for me and my family. Book them. Tell Jany I said, "Hi."
We travelled to Rome 3 days before a cruise and used Rome In Limo for our airport transfers, cruise port transfers, a day tour in Rome, and a Vatican tour guide. Communication with Jany in the office both before the trip and in country was excellent and always very quick responses. All of our drivers and tour guides were A+ - prompt, knowledgeable, and on time. I noticed their pricing was a bit higher than some others for the transports, but it was well worth it - we never waited for a driver - they were always early - and the vans were comfortable and cool. Our tour guide for our day around Rome was knowledgeable and extremely helpful in accommodating my mom's mobility issues. Our Vatican tour guide, Chiara, was incredible - she was knowledgeable, guided us through the crowds with precision, and was extremely helpful when my mom struggled with the heat. I will absolutely use them again if we return for another cruise or Italian adventure!
I cannot say enough positive things about this company and Jany, who assisted us throughout the planning process. Jany was incredibly responsive, knowledgeable, and helpful every step of the way. Even after we arrived in Rome, we were pleasantly surprised to receive prompt responses to our questions over the weekend. Our Vatican tour guide, Chiara, was outstanding—after just three hours, it felt as though we were touring with a member of the family. Having a tour guide made all the difference. Her extensive knowledge and 17 years of experience provided a depth of insight that greatly enhanced our experience. Peter, our private driver and tour guide, was equally exceptional. His expertise, professionalism, and personable nature made our experience truly unforgettable. Our driver, Vlad, from Rome to Civitavecchia Port was incredibly understanding when he learned that the airline had lost our luggage. He graciously allowed us to make a brief stop at a store near the port so we could pick up a few essential items before boarding our cruise. His flexibility and kindness during a stressful situation were greatly appreciated. I highly recommend this company and would not hesitate to use their services again.
Rome in limo does the best tours. Our tour guide Peter was great, very knowledgeable, tailored our itinerary to what we wanted to see. Worth the price.
Rome in Limo was great and worked with us to do Rome in 1 day (rather than 2) since we were tight on time. Our guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable. They also hooked us up with a private guide for the Vatican which was worth every penny. Would book through them again in a heart beat!
Our lecture guide, Barbara, was excellent. She was friendly, professional, and knew others that enhanced our experience. Our driver, Francisco, ensured that we were dropped off and picked up in safe locations very close to each site. They were outstanding.
I can see why Rome In Limo has over 5,000 reviews and 5 stars. We were a group of 16 adults traveling through Italy. For our 3 days in Rome we hooked up with RomeInLimo for 2 days with 2 van drivers and the walking tour at the vatican. Nick and Maurice were our drivers - highly suggest you ask for them and let them pick the lunch spots. They were amazing. Jany in the office was fantastic as we worked through some changes in guests. The tour guides Barbara and Tanya were fantastic. We also worked out a 3 hour night tour in the vans in addition to the 2 day tours. Again highly recommend a night tour. These people are the best and you will not be disappointed.
Everything went so smoothly, Jany was exceptional in her communications. We had to change things last minute due to a canceled flight and RomeinLimo made sure that everything all worked out. Absolutely wonderful service !!
We had Stephan for a driver and guide , he was wonderful. He was so very knowledgeable with all his art history experience. We went all over Rome for at least 6 hours. Stephan was very pleasant and interesting . I would highly recommend using him for your Romeinlimo experience!
Having only two days we wanted to make the most of our visit. This was definitely worth it! Not only is it nice to have a private van driving you around; but more importantly is the tour guide. Our guide, Peter, made our experience so much more enriching. Peter gave us the background and context of all the sites. He also took us to an off-the-beaten path places. In addition to Peter, we had Maximo, as our tour guide for the Vatican. He was hilarious in addition to his deep knowledge of everything Vatican. Highly recommended Romeinlimo
Such an amazing two days in Rome. There were 6 of us and we did a private tour of the Vatican with Massimo on Saturday, the 21st, and a full day Rome tour with Nick on Sunday. We hated to leave either of them. They both filled us with so much history, humor and true compassion for their jobs.
So let me start by saying the beginning of our trip to Italy was horrible. The airlines, the whole horrible, what you would expect experience. Once we arrived at FCO though, we were picked up by our driver (after having to shift our experience to an evening one, due to the airlines) and it really saved the day!!! Not only did this organization save the day, they set the tone for the rest of the trip. We did a 10 day Med cruise, and at every port (4-5), we utilized this company. EACH and every time, the experience was met with professionalism, knowledge and elegance. We have been home less then 36 hours and we have recommended this company to several friends who will be traveling to Italy soon. I cannot impress the amount of detail and satisfaction we had with this company and the drivers. A true 1st class experience. I would recommend this group to anyone wanting a truly memorable time, in a safe and VIP capacity.
Livio went above and beyond for our family! He had exceptional knowledge of Rome’s history and sights. He was entertaining and took us to all the best spots. He made sure we were taken care of at each location and watched our bags since we were picked up from the airport at the start of our tour. He even gave us phenomenal food recommendations. We loved every second of our time with him! We literally saw all of Rome in a day thanks to him.
They completely take care of you for the 3 days. They drove us right to the best spots. Little walking in the heat. Wonderful tour in the Vatican. Felt like a VIP the entire 3 days
Perfection once again with Rome in Limo!! I traveled with my 80-year-old mother and wanted to make her first trip to Europe an unforgettable adventure. Rome in Limo did not disappoint, and both tours were magnificent. We had a private tour of the Vatican with Massimo, and he was knowledgeable, kind, funny, and accommodating. He secured a wheelchair for my mother so she would be able to truly enjoy the tour without getting too tired and he asked for our input about what we wanted to see in the Vatican Museums. Stephane was our driver for the Best of Rome tour, and he went above and beyond to ensure mom had easy access to see the most iconic monuments in Rome. We also visited small churches throughout Rome and saw Michaelangelo's Moses at the Church of San Pietro in Vincoli, the Ecstasy of Saint Teresa by Bernini at the Church of Santa Maria della Vittori, and the Aventine Keyhole at the Church of Santa Maria del Priorato. I will use Rome in Limo time and time again when I'm in Italy. Thank you, Jany, Massimo and Stephane, for making my mom's first trip to Rome so special.
Nothing but excellence!! Our driver, Stephane, is the absolute best! We spent 5 days total with them. Having a private driver makes the experience so enjoyable. You never have to think about how you’re going to get things done, just tell them what you want to do and they make it happen! Stephane’s car was spotless every day and he was so gracious. He took us everywhere we wanted to go and helped with suggestions. Jany is professional, responsive and accommodating. This was my second visit wit Rome in Limo. I’ve suggested them to many friends who are also happy. I don’t want to tour Italy without them!!!!
Our 2-Day Rome tour was great. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and made the tours interesting and fun. The Colosseum and the Vatican were unbelievable!! This 2 day tour of Rome was reasonably priced & was the highlight of our trip to Italy. I highly recommend this tour. Jany from RomeInLimo was very helpful & responsive to all our questions. The only thing that would have made it even greater would have been if entrance tickets to The Colosseum and the Vatican could have been included/provided by Rome In Limo. I travelled with my (22 year old) daughter, my niece, and 2 of my sisters. We all loved this 2 Day Rome tour and highly recommend it.
We had a great time on our 3 day Rome tour. Our tour guide was Piero (Peter). He knew just about everything there is about Rome. He took us to places I didn't even knew existed, which is exactly what we wanted, Off-the-beaten-path sights. I can't say enough about how great Peter was. When I go back to Rome, I will definitely ask for him to be my tour guide. Grazia was our tour guide for the Vatican. She was a wealth of information and we enjoyed her tour very much. Rome in Limo is the way to go if you want to get the most out of your Roman holiday. We will be back!
Personalized service from knowledgeable tour guides in English too. Answers our questions and even makes recommendations on restaurants when asked.
The tour was fantastic as was the guide team. Signing up was easy and Jany was great. Highly recommend using this company.
I have been using Rome In Limo for over 10 years. Jany and her team are absolutely fantastic. I literally cannot say enough good things about the Company and their Service. Outstanding guides for both the Vatican and the Collseum, Their guides and drivers are so kind, knowledgeable and always on time. Thank you once again Jany and Francesco for a wonderful visit to Italy.
Exemplary individuals conduct the tours. We had very personalized service which was incredible. Well worth the money!
Best of the best for touring in Italy! I truly recommend this service and will use it for every trip back to Italy, Stefan was the most knowledgable tour guide and we loved him:):):) Thank you to Jany and Stefan for making our trip the best!!! Sincerely, Pam Freda
Rome in Limo tours is a first class operation! My husband and I were so impressed with both of our drivers, Vinny and Giovanni! We were met by each of them and toured in beautiful town cars. They both were so informative and provided historical and landmark information and details that make our tours memorable. Vinny picked us up that the Livorna port and gave us a tour of Florence and Pisa and the Tuscany region. After mentioning to Vinny that we were interested in wine tasting, he modified our tour slightly and made a reservation for us to have a private tour of a beautiful winery with the most delicious Chianti. He provided the most friendly, professional first class tour and we would highly recommend his services to anyone. Giovanni was wonderful as well, gave us a beautiful tour of Naples and the Almafi coast. After asking for an authentic, non-tourist, restaurant for lunch, he drove us into the hills of Positano to a beautiful restaurant, da Costanuno, where we were treated like royalty and had the most delicious meal overlooking the coast. As a gift, he gave us a delicious bottle of Lemoncella as a parting gift, which was both unexpected and much appreciated. Our only regret was that we did not sign up for the three day tour and also use this wonderful service in Rome. We would highly recommend RomeInLimo, and will definitely use their service again!
Both of our tours were amazing. Our driver, Lucca, was informative, gracious and met all of our needs. We saw the Coliseum and Vatican the first day and spent the second day in the Tuscany area. Loved both days and again, Lucca was wonderful!
This was our first trip to Rome and we wanted to see as much of Rome as possible in a short period of time. We had our own private driver, Stefano, and his Mercedes that took us around Rome for 2 days. We saw more in those 2 days than many people I know who tried to do it on their own. Not only did we see all the major tourist sights, but were taken to many that were not on the beaten path. Stefano spoke very good English and was always on time. He was very professional, enthusiastic and tried to customize the tour for us if we had any special requests. He helped guide us through the ticketing process at the Colosseum, Catacombs, etc. We felt that the money was well spent and would highly recommend Rome In Limo.
We had a wonderful private tour of Rome with Enrico. Enrico brought us to all the usual sightseeing spots but also added areas that you normally would not see. The trip was outstanding and I would highly recommend RomeinLimo.
Both of our tours were excellent. Enrico and Raffaella were amazing and informative. You definitely need a guided tour thorough the Vatican to really appreciate it.
We used Rome in Limo for the 2 day package as well as a customized day trip (3 days in all). This was our first trip to Rome and we wanted to see the highlights before going on a cruise. Our first driver, Enrico, was friendly and prompt and made sure we saw everything that we wanted to see. It was door to door service to every attraction. We would not have wanted to drive ourselves around the streets of Rome and felt safe with Enrico driving. We were thrilled that he was our driver on our customized day trip to a winery we wanted to see in Siena. Our private walking tour of the Vatican was also excellent and our tour guide, Eleonora, was extremely knowledgeable. I had many emails back and forth with Jany and she was always prompt and helpful in advising me which tickets to buy in advance. I would highly recommend this company.
Our family of 4 chose Romeinlimo for 3 days of excursions for our visit to Italy when we took our Mediterranean Cruise recently and we are so glad we did. We were driven around in a comfortable vehicle, Mercedes, with excellent drivers who promptly picked us up and took us to magnificent places. It was so nice not to travel in a large group as it allowed us to see so much more. I highly recommend using them!!
We LOVED our tour guides and the entire experience!! They were extremely knowledgeable and engaging; they even had my teenagers interested! Highly recommend!!
As this was our first trip to Rome prior to taking a Cruise we wanted to see all the sights with only a few days to do it in. We selected Rome in Limo due to the reviews on Trip Advisor, and they were spot on. The first day the 3 of us were picked up at our Hotel by a guide (Enrico) in a very new Mercedes E Class. He was an excellent driver and took us to the major sights and gave us a detailed explanation of what we were going to see, as well as what to look for. The second day were were met by a guide at the Vatican (I for get his name) and he took us thru with very detailed info on everything. We would have missed so much if it were not for him explaining all the highlights, and he knew them all. We would very much suggest this tour, and the professionalism of the staff made for a great and information packed 2 days....
If you are going to spend all the time, money and effort, why short change your visit with "well, we got to see some things" when you can see it all? I brought some new to Europe family to see Rome and knew the only way to do it right was to email Jany at RomeInLimo and get one of their tours set up. My family was amazed at what all we saw with Enrique as our driver and guide. One car for the 3 of us and personal attention to what we wanted to see and how much time we wanted to spend at each area. He would drop us off as close to the entrance as possible and be there to pick us up when we were ready. And the next day we went to the Vatican with Alexandro who was an archeologist and the perfect guide for our visit. We saw it all! I promise you will love this group of folks and what they can do to give you the perfect vacation!
Rome in Limo was amazing from start to finish. Contact them via email and Jany will reply quickly with all the information you need. I had no trouble booking our tours and had complete confidence. Our flight was delayed by almost 4 hours and still Piero from Rome in Limo was there waiting for us. He toured us for 4 hours and dropped us at our hotel. He was kind, efficient and extremely knowledgable. It was wonderful. The next day he picked us up and we toured for an hour or so before our Vatican tour. Barbara from Rome in Limo toured us through the Vatican and we saw and understood so much more than we would have on our own. Then Piero drove us to Civitavecchia to join our cruise. The car was immaculate and cool on a triple digit day. Piero had cold water ready for us. I can recommend Rome in Limo without any reservation at all. Just book them.
The best way I could imagine our 2 days to see Rome for the 1st time. The driver, Stephano, met us in our hotel lobby, 15 minutes early, gave us an intro to what we would be doing the whole day, inquired about special requests, and led us to a large, spotless, refrigerated (it was an unseasonably hot/humid Roman morning) Mercedes sedan. The next six hours were a non-stop combined history, geography, theology and architectural presentation of the city. The pace was just right with Stephano allowing ample time for us to explore each of the points of interest after giving us tips on how to best experience each location. Tourist hordes were not an issue as he knew the special ways to get the limo close to the attractions and into those hidden parking locations. We were refreshed with each return to the chilled Mercedes and whisked to the next location, with his continuous lectures informing us on the way. Once in a while he would throw us a quiz question just to see if we were paying attention. We smiled a little at his passion for the city. He showed us the exact spot to meet our Vatican guide the next day, showed and told us exactly how to visit the colliseum (not part of our limo tour), and left us at a restaurant (not part of our limo tour), negotiating with the manager for a small table for two in the back. The next day we met our Vatican guide, Massimo, at the designated spot, 10 minutes early, and then experienced an intense 3 hour walking cram course in all things Vatican. There must be something Massimo does not know about the Vatican, but we couldn't find it. Getting us on the other side of some of those velvet ropes made us think he knows the who and the how if you want to really see the Vatican. Again the pace was brisk but not rushed; we had as much time as we wanted in the Sistine Chapel. We moved readily through the massive tourist crowds following his walking technique, and didn't experience much delay anywhere. We finished the 3 hours drained but exhilarated from our tour. Probably with more time, there are other good ways to explore Rome, but with our time constraints, we're glad we took the advice of the person who recommended Rome in Limo to us, and we will do the same.
Wow. An acquaintance recommended Rome in Limo to me and I researched it on Trip Advisor. I saw the huge number of very positive reviews so I booked it. I was so thrilled! I was travelling with a friend and since we were two females travelling together we were cautious, but we had not concerns at all with Rome in Limo. It made touring Rome in a short time easy and enjoyable. We were coming off a Viking cruise ship and doing a two day extension in Rome, so we reversed the tour days, doing the 4-hour Vatican tour on Saturday then the 6-hour city tour Sunday. Massimo was our guide to the Vatican and I can't say enough good things. We learned so much and he was very engaging. All the security guards seemed to know him, and we were nodded through several areas past crowds and around ropes, etc. I am sure we saw more than we could have in a group tour or on our own. He was not only obviously an expert but passionate about history. He took great interest in our interests and was personable. I would give him a high emotional quotient (EQ) too because he seemed to know how much to share with us and what we would be interested in. Enrico was our guide on the Rome tour and again we were thrilled with his service, professionalism and ability to pack in the most sites in a short amount of time. We purchased our Colisseum tickets ahead as directed. And just a reminder (the website makes it clear), this part is a limo service, not a guided tour like the Vatican. Enrico was knowledgeable and filled us in between sites about what we would see and a bit about history or even current events. We could have flexed the tour if we wanted; meaning, if we wanted to spend more time at a location or spend time shopping or even eating, he would have worked with that in our time frame. We, however, chose to wait for our lunch until the end of the tour so we could see more sights. He even made reservations for us at one of his favorite, family-run restaurants and dropped us off there at the end of our tour. (He would have taken us back to our hotel or anywhere we wanted at the end of the tour.) We could have caught a cab back to our hotel, but we chose to walk back to our hotel from there and swung by the Spanish Steps. With Enrico, we saw several panoramic views of Rome, the Knights of Malta Keyhole, Forum, Trevi Fountain, Colisseum, Pantheon, St. John's Cathedral, Piazza Novona & chapel there, Gianicolo hill, and the Trastaverri area--in a six hour tour. In each of these places we had time to get out and explore. He would meet us at a designated spot at an agreed time and whisk us away to the next place. Headache free. I could not be more thrilled and recommend it highly. I would say that if you only have a short time and want to see a lot, do it. If you have already seen Rome but just want to focus on specific places without the worry of transportation, it would also be a good choice. If you have lots of time in Rome, it could be a great kick-off, leaving you free for other days to explore museums or linger at an attraction longer or spend time roaming, shopping and eating!
We booked the two-day Rome tour and had the wonderful experience of meeting both Enrico for the day trip and Massimo for the Vatican tour. Enrico was wonderful and such a gentleman. He took us all around the great sights and neighborhoods of Rome (first timers). I felt we got the most in we could in a short amount of time. As others have said, although not a tour guide, he provided a bit of history, inside information and a locals view of the city. At the end he also gave us a list of restaurants that proved to be spot-on suggestions. The only disappointment was that we spent 2 hours at the Colosseum which we could have easily done on our own and had an additional 2 hours of sight seeing. Vatican Tour: Massimo was a treat! Get ready to pay attention. He talks so fast and so animated you have to have had plenty of espresso to keep up! He knows absolutely everyone at and around the Vatican City (waiters, guards, tour guides, etc.) and has no problem asking (ok, telling) people to move for you to have the perfect view. lol . He is truly an expert in the history and culture and we would have been lost without his guidance. Three hours seems like a lot of time until you visit and realize that you could be there for days and not see everything. Absolutely worth the time and money. Would definitely book again!
Our Vatican tour guide was Valentina. She was so personable. My wife, daughter and I really enjoyed our time with her. She was so knowledgeable and we leaned so much. I would highly recommend her. Big Luca was our guide for the Rome City tour. Not only did he shed a historical light on most of the major sites in Rome, he did it such a personable way. Big Luca is a great story teller. You will enjoy spending part of your day with him. Lastly, it’s so easy to wander into a restaurant in a Rome that caters only to tourists. Big Luca took us to a restaurant for lunch in a part of Rome near the Catacombs where he grew up. It was locals only and us. It was a neighborhood place that served such outstanding food that we almost didn’t want to leave! Thank you so much Valentina and Big Luca. You were both highlights of our trip.
We booked the two-day Rome tour, and also the Illuminated Rome evening tour. Massimo guided us through the Vatican Museums, and he was great - we got into areas that were off-limits to others, and he used his iPad for photos and background information that made the time a wonderful experience. Enrico, was our host for both the Illuminated tour, and also for the full day car tour of Rome. He is perhaps the best guide we've had in our travels; they note you get a driver, and not a tour guide, but his knowledge of the City, how to get in and out of the nooks and crannies of the neighborhoods, and his suggestions for things to do and see were all top notch. Online prior to our visit, Lawny was helpful and responsive for any questions (of which I had several). You might want to save money and just wander around on your own, but we felt we saw and did so much, it would have taken days or weeks to match it without Enrico showing us his City.
We had a great experience with Rome-in-Limo last summer so when we returned to Rome this year it was a no-brainer to use them again. Our grandson is studying abroad and wanted to visit Rome, so we obliged. Shortly after arrival, we had tickets for the Vatican and Sistine chapel and Vatican Museum. Massimo was our guide and boy he was great. A wealth of knowledge and he's been doing this so long he knows all the guards and was able to show us some things that not everyone gets to see. The next day, Enrico picked us up for a 6 hour day of touring. As good as our tours were last year, he took us to places we had missed before, He took us up on the Aventine hill where we were able to see St. Peter's through a keyhole. Amazing! Then to the Coliseum where we were met by our guide Barbara. We had been to the Coliseum before but without a guide. We learned so much more this time. This was our first time to the Forum. Enrico then drove us to some out of the way places, like the only remaining stretch of the original Appian Way. On our third day with Enrico we went to the Catacombs, Trevi Fountain, Plaza Navona, Wedding cake, and much, much more. Our next trip to Rome we will us Rome-in-Limo again. You can't beat them.
Very much enjoyed our time with our Rome in Limo guides. They were knowledgable and flexible with our group, and we got around very efficiently without feeling too rushed. The only suggestion for improvement I would offer is to improve their internal communication a bit. A couple of times it seemed that the left hand didn't quite know what the right hand was doing. Examples would be not knowing which things had been prepaid and which hadn't, and a bit of a change in meeting time and place one day. Nothing that was a major inconvenience, but just a little confusing for us and our guide. Having said that, I'd recommend Rome in Limo to anyone asking.
We only had 4 days to see Rome on our recent trip to Italy, and I had a long list of sights I wanted to see. We booked the 3 Day best of Rome with the Vatican tour. Stephan our driver could not have been any better! He was amazing! the amount of knowledge he had about Rome was incredible. He almost had too much information. :-) He not only took us to places like the Coliseum, Roman Forum, the Pantheon, etc, but he took us to other hidden gems we were not aware of like the church where Saint Peters Chains are kept, and the church where Michael Angelo's statue of Moses is housed. (truly splendid) We spent our three days is complete amazement. It was great having Stephan all to ourselves. We were able to do what we wanted when we wanted, and when we didn't know what we wanted to do, he would take us to some hidden gem in Rome. I can't say enough about how great it was. He was also an incredible help when we ran into trouble with our Coliseum tour. He stayed with us until we sorted it out, and helped navigate us around people who were trying to take advantage of us. It really was worth every penny.
The fantastic reviews here on Tripadvisor are all correct, and I'm so glad I listened to them! WOW, what a fabulous two days we had with Rome in Limos! We did the two day private Rome tour and also used them for all of our transfers to and from hotels, airport, and cruise port, and have absolutely no regrets! This is truly a very professional company. All transfers and tours were top notch. Drivers were always on time, friendly, and courteous. They were filled with knowledge about Italy and the wonderful sites. We felt very safe and secure in their hands! STEFANO did an excellent job of showing us all of the important sites in Rome. We completely enjoyed our day with him. He knew where to go and how long to stay in each place. This was one of the best days of touring that we've ever had! Thanks, Stefano! And Massimo (I think!) did an exceptional job of showing us around the Vatican! What an amazing tour. So nice to completely skip that long line, and he was so knowledgeable about the things we were seeing. We really enjoyed him, and the Vatican was just breath taking. We are already planning another trip to Italy, and we will, without a doubt, use RomeinLimo for our transfers and tours! Thanks to them for making our first trip abroad just perfect!
Enrico made our trip to Rome for our 40th anniversary memorable! He picked us up promptly from our hotel, took us through the city to many of the important attractions and gave wonderful explanations of the history as we toured. He also took us to some out-of-the-way places that only locals would know about! He was a true gentleman every step of the way. Upon his suggestion, We chose a visit to the Catacombes and then Enrico recommended a great restaurant for lunch. All in all the day went perfectly . We highly recommend this company and our fantastic driver!
