Our stay at this hotel with my family was extremely disappointing and far below the standards expected from a 4-star property. The hotel appears to rely on misleading photos that do not reflect its actual condition. Most of the furniture and room fittings seem outdated and poorly maintained. The bedding and bed throws were visibly old and dirty. The floors in the bedrooms looked as if they had not been properly cleaned for months. The bathroom was in unacceptable condition, with visible mold and poor hygiene. Air-conditioning vents were dusty, damaged, and appeared to be falling apart. The rooms had an unpleasant smell, and overall cleanliness throughout the property was far below acceptable standards. We also encountered insects in different areas of the room, including the bathroom and living areas. Sleeping comfortably was nearly impossible and became one of the worst hotel experiences we have had. To make matters worse, the hotel initially gave us a different room from the one we had booked. When we requested the room we paid for, the staff claimed that no alternative rooms were available. However, available rooms could clearly be seen online. After a full day of complaints, they finally moved us, but the replacement room was also dirty and poorly maintained. Overall, this hotel is not suitable for a 4-star rating in its current condition. Poor maintenance, inadequate cleanliness, misleading advertising, and unhelpful service made this stay a complete disappointment. I would not recommend this hotel to families or travelers expecting the standards normally associated with a 4-star property. See attached photos.
I found this little one on the photo in my room. I thought he felt well and wanted to visit me. I do not believe insects harm us. They simply want to have a home too. My overall experience was good. Cannot complain (; thank you very much for the beautiful stay. Great location.
Hotel is stunning, set not far away from the Vatican city itself. However, food in the restaurant was stone cold and the night staff a (bunch of older gentlemen) were absolutely disgusting, their behaviour towards guest was deplorable. Speaking amongst themselves in Italian and then laughing at you directly if you request anything. Would not recommend
I don't understand the negative reviews at all! My parents and I stayed at this hotel for 3 days in mid-October and we enjoyed it. The hotel is charming and quaint, but I don't expect anything else from an older building in the middle of Rome. The rooms are snug, but we booked a room for 3 and it was more than enough space with my parents on one side, and I on the other, and the bathroom between us. The FREE breakfast was excellent with many options and the service staff were very accommodating at both dining experiences. The hotel staff in general were knowledgeable, delightful and helpful, going above and beyond at every turn, from giving us food suggestions when pretty much everything was closed, to booking a shuttle service at 1 AM to the port Civitavecchia when we learned our option had fallen through, to making us tea and capuccino when the kitchen had already closed for the night. That's service. The location is good - right in the big city and on public transit (bus and train) line. You can go to the local market nearby, and there is a lovely park across the street. We had rented a car and were able to park it for free for the duration of our stay while we took public transit to local sights. Staff informed on how to get to local attractions by public transit. The hotel is not far from the highway. My only gripe about the hotel is that the price could have been a bit more reasonable since it wasn't "brand name" hotel.
