Honestly, the service was amazing! Anton was an absolute star throughout our stay and made sure we had everything we needed. We arrived late at night with no reservation, and he still went out of his way to help us and make us feel welcome. He really went above and beyond, and we couldn't have asked for better hospitality! Other than that, 10/10 value for money

Hotel Torino did exactly what I wanted it to - provide me with a comfortable room, easy location, decent wifi, and amazing price. While this is a 2-3 star hotel, the value proposition is good as long as you know how some of these older hotels function & offer. I booked the larger standard double room directly - there was a lot of contradictory information on Expedia & other sites in terms of the actual room size - and glad I did. They ended up giving me a corner room with 2 beds - one twin and then a larger queen (two twins pushed together) that worked out well.
The room is ok, but a little hot inside, maybe in the summer it’s imposible to sleep. The breakfast os terrible and limited, the staff is not kind. Don’t recomend it. Location it’s the only thing that is worthy.
We were part of a large group of travellers staying at this hotel. We were three to a room. The hotel itself looks decent in the lobby and the location is close enough to the city center. However, the reason for the low rating is the following: - the internet provided was inconsistent throughout the hotel. - four of us took the elevator up one evening and we were stuck in the elevator for 45 minutes with no air flow. It was very hot and there was no urgency from the hotel staff to fix the situation. We were lucky that people from our group continued to ask for help and prompt the hotel staff to call someone to fix the elevator. Eventually, we finally got someone to come and lift the elevator halfway up to a floor (we were between floors. When we pried the door open, we saw the wall). We had to be pulled out of the elevator one by one since the elevator was only halfway up the floor. Once we were out, many of us were in emotional distress. None of the hotel staff checked on us, asked if we were ok, or offered us water and we never received an apology. Two days later, other people in the hotel were pulled out of the elevator on the 7th floor because the elevator was stuck again. - our hotel door didn’t completely close. It appeared to have been previously crowbarred open so when we closed the door, you could push it open a bit and see into the room. - the hot water situation was bad. We had to leave our shower running for 20 minutes before there was hot water for the shower. No matter which way we turned the shower knob, the water was freezing cold. - the rooms smelt of mildew. I have a mold allergy and the entire time I was in this hotel, I had a very sore throat and runny nose. - in a room that people from our group were staying, the ceiling started to leak water. When they went to the front desk, they were given a new room but upon arriving there, the bed was slept in and the shower was recently used. Very inhospitable and unprofessional. - the sheets and mattresses were stained. - the rooms were crawling with silverfish. - upon arrival in another room from our group, they found used zyn in the sink. Overall, our experience at this hotel was very bad and there was no attempt from the hotel staff to support or reach out to us to help. I don’t understand how this hotel is considered a 4 star hotel. If you can, book elsewhere and save yourself the trouble of dealing with this hotel.
Let me start this by saying I am a travelling 30 something that has stayed in motels, hotels, hostels, you name it. So I am not coming in with a standard of luxury. My standard is just comfort for what I pay. Walking into the room the first night was a disaster. Re: the pictures I posted. The air con knob was gone, when I turned it on (or what was left of the stub) it just throws air around and sounds like it's about to break. wallpaper is peeling, and I went to sit down on the mattress and it is 2 inches thick and like 50 years old. I feel a spring in my butt as I write this. I went to take a shower and the drain wasn't draining. Had to end it early so there wasn't a flood that started in the bathroom. The plus side was when my boyfriend went to shower after me he didn't have to worry about flooding as his hot water ran out, and at the same time the water pressure, so I guess that's a win? I mean it can't be all bad right? Let's go through the positives. Lots of fluffy comfy towels, plenty of pillows, and the cleaning staff does a good job. There is a rooftop terrace to see the skyline. We were able to experience this at the free breakfast. But both positives became negatives when we were unable to access the terrace for a sunset view because "children are in the hotel" and they had to keep it locked. lol. Jokes. Standing at the locked door to the outside watching the people at the hotel accross from us enjoying their rooftop sunset view probably paying less than what I did. Also the free breakfast wasn't bad, but the first morning the coffee machine ran out of water, which I was told by the waiter. And it was never refilled... so there was a number of us asking for coffee and being told "there is no water" period. ??? The room and hotel looked so old and dated I googled some info about it. The website is so misleading, saying it is "recently renovated" and goes on about luxury. Maybe in 1988, but not now. The hotel is weathered and no one cares to fix it. My hunch is the 5 star reviews are for possibly renovated rooms in the hotel (like 2-3) that are given to some guests, or they are bots. Gordon Ramsey if you are reading this I found you a place to be on your next season of "hotel hell".
