Hotel Saint John

Good location, but an aging facility and grossly overpriced. Bathroom in particular was very poor and desperately in need of renovation. Platinum status ignored - no upgrade or welcome amenity.

Checked in around 5 room was so small for two people and dirty if your American size not the place for you its our honeymoon and the shower is so small im 6foot 1 my husband is 6foot and definitely can barely fit in it also the walls are molded from water damage all the way to the closet that was also dirty looked like crumbs of food and the ac is not ac like a warm fan struggling for life. There was hair in the bed not ours just not clean and definitely not what you expect from a so called 4 star hotel. Positive notes the lobby smells amazing and is cute. They moved us to a room with actual ac but less floor damage but looks the same i do NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL edit! Second night here I'm taking a star away this place sucks the staff is rude too

The hotel has a good location. The Classic double room was quite small — I would estimate around 14 sqm — although it was reasonably well insulated from noise. The minibar was empty, with only one bottle of water provided. What we found most confusing was the absence of proper glasses. Instead, there were two paper cups near the kettle and two more in the bathroom for toothbrushes. When we asked whether it was possible to get regular glasses, we were told this was not possible for safety reasons. I have never seen a 4-star hotel with such an approach. The bathroom was of average size, but the shower cabin was very narrow. I have a relatively slim build, so it was manageable for me, but I believe larger guests may find it uncomfortable to shower there. Towels are used enough and should be replaced with new ones. In addition, the shower holder did not properly hold the shower head and kept spinning. Under the sink, I noticed something that looked like a blood stain or splash! The bed and pillows were comfortable. The furniture was quite worn and could use replacement. One electrical socket was also not working. It was impossible to switch off the air conditioning fully. It would stop for a short time, then resume after about a minute. On a positive note, we received complimentary beverages on reception when checking in, which was a nice touch.

I would like to sincerely thank the team at Mercure Roma Centro St. John for a wonderful stay. A special appreciation to Emanuele and Christian for their prompt and professional assistance in manually crediting the points—this was handled efficiently and with great care. I would also like to highlight the breakfast team, who truly made each morning enjoyable. Their friendliness, attentiveness, and positive energy created a welcoming atmosphere and set a great tone for the day. The service was consistently excellent and much appreciated. Overall, a very pleasant experience with a team that clearly cares about guest satisfaction. I would be happy to return and recommend this hotel to others.
