Excellent stay in a great location! We had a really good experience at Hotel Montecarlo Rome. The location is excellent, making it very convenient to get around and explore the city. The staff were really nice, friendly, and accommodating throughout our stay. Breakfast was also pretty good with a decent variety of options. Room service was good as well. The only minor issue was that the fridge wasn’t working, which was a little disappointing, especially when you want to keep a beer chilled! Overall, it was a very pleasant stay and we really enjoyed our time here. I would definitely come back and stay at Hotel Montecarlo again the next time I’m in Rome.

The only good thing is the location. The rooms are very old, there's no refrigerator or minibar. How can you live without a refrigerator in that heat? The TVs are at least 10 years old and the broadcasts are inadequate. The staff, especially the person at reception, is very rude. My wife and I stayed and they gave us a room with two separate single beds. Even though I told them and showed them the reservation form, they didn't change the room. The person was arrogant, indifferent, self-centered, and uncomprehending. There was no breakfast, just paper-thin watermelon, 1-2 cakes, 1-2 eggs, and the room was cold. It was a complete disappointment for us. I absolutely do not recommend it. There are many better quality hotels at a much more reasonable price.
My wife and I stayed at Hotel Montecarlo for a long weekend in Rome, and we had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The hotel strikes a lovely balance between comfort and charm. The rooftop terrace is a real highlight — breakfast there in the morning is relaxed and pleasant, and in the evening it transforms into a cosy restaurant with very good food. The staff were consistently polite and professional, making us feel genuinely welcome throughout our stay. A special mention goes to Hugo, the barman, who was not only friendly but also impressively multilingual. We were particularly surprised when he spoke fluent Portuguese with my wife — a rare and thoughtful touch that made our stay even more memorable. Overall, a very positive experience, and we would certainly consider staying here again on our next visit to Rome.
The staff at this hotel were exceptionally friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. We appreciated being allowed to check in a bit early once our room was ready, and their hospitality really stood out when they offered us coffee and pastries early in the morning before our departure. However, the room itself was quite small and felt a bit cramped. Unfortunately, we also found a sock from a previous guest under the bed, which raised some concerns about overall cleanliness. Breakfast was a highlight, with a good variety of options available. The coffee machine was especially impressive, offering a wide selection of coffee and hot chocolate drinks. The hotel is located some distance from the main tourist attractions, but there is a metro station conveniently located about three blocks away, making it relatively easy to get around.
Old world charm at this hotel. Always at least two people working at the front desk, daily housekeeping and a reasonably good breakfast (although a little crowded at times). It’s a throwback to a previous time, turning into your key (card) when you leave the building. Only real downside is that when you leave the room, everything turns off, so no charging anything during the day. We had the family room, which was a normal large bed, a single bed for one daughter and rollaway (with a good proper mattress) for our other daughter. About 10 minute walk from the central station and good bus connections right on the street. Metro was about 5 minute walk away. Ubers home in the evening were never more than 15 eur. Will definitely be back the next time we come to Rome. Can also recommend Mi Restaurante , which is just down the street where we visited several evenings.
