Hotel Imperiale

Do NOT stay at this hotel if you want to sleep. They failed to disclose the loud construction noise next door, so we barely slept at all for 4 days in a row. After the first complaint, we were promised the construction will wait until 9AM but this was a lie. They offered to switch our room only after we were out traveling during the day, and only had until 2pm to move rooms. We also paid extra for a “deluxe” room and it was the opposite of deluxe— the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had. Now, they’re ignoring our emails as well as emails from Booking.com

Overall, this was a fairly good stay. Unfortunately the one caveat is that the room advertised in the photo when booking did not match the room we were put in. We booked the omnia deluxe double queen for 4 people but the room was much smaller and darker compared to the room advertised on site. This was shame as the room advertised looked very spacious and our room was not. Additionally the website states that there are interconnecting rooms which I did request however the reception staff said this was not the case so I believe there may be some inconsistencies with the website. However positives include the location, breakfast and friendly staff, all of which were good. Our stay was what you would expect from a good 3 or 4 star hotel!

Tourists are warned to watch out for pickpockets, but I would warn you to be vigilant about staff when staying here. We stayed here last month for 3 days, my son bought a very expensive, antique piece of art, a statute that was carefully wrapped in bubble wrap and placed in an open bag. This statute was very heavy and was kept in our hotel room beside other pieces of luggage. We were packing to leave and realized the statue was gone. My son immediately went to the front desk explained the problem, searched the garbage area but returned to the room empty handed. We were eventually told by the manager that the cleaner had thought it was garbage and threw it away!! The manager told my son to report it to the police, which we had to do at the airport as we were leaving the next day. That was an interesting experience in itself, but we persevered and provided the police report to the hotel. We were hoping that this expensive, posh hotel would admit their mistake, accept responsibility for the actions of their staff and provide us with appropriate compensation. But no, how naive we were. Their solution: the next time we stayed at this hotel they would provide a credit…..as if we would ever go back! So I am writing this to forewarn anyone contemplating staying there to maybe reconsider if you want to leave with what you originally brought. If you decide to stay then check everyday that your belongings are still in your room and not taken by over zealous staff.

Thank you for having us back in April! The service we received at Hotel Imperiale was absolutely phenomenal. Once the team found out it was our very first time visiting Rome, they went above and beyond. The female staff member working on April 14th eagerly presented us with a map of the city and gave us a heartwarming welcome that I will never forget. The room was perfectly clean. Although we had a minor issue with the air conditioning, the staff handled it beautifully and managed to move us to an even better room with a beautiful view! The bartender was also incredibly nice and supportive, serving up drinks from a truly great cocktail list (Salute!). Lastly, I want to give an honorable mention to Omar and Frecia (apologies if I misspelled her name!). Their exceptional service, politeness, and willingness to help us with all our needs—including preparing our airport transfer—made the end of our trip so smooth. Thank you, Hotel Imperiale. We will definitely see you again!
