Hotel Capo D'africa - Colosseo

Great breakfast (even had gluten free, vegan and lactose free food items), clean rooms and additional amenities provided in the rooms were very helpful. Staff friendly and efficient. We found the bed a little hard for us (but we like a very soft bed) and that is no fault of the hotel, and we did not address this with them as again, it is not their fault! Location was perfect and it was very special to end the evening walking back past the colosseum!

Wonderful experience at Room Mate Collection in Rome! The hotel offers beautiful rooms, excellent cleanliness, and a fantastic location. The breakfast was delicious and varied, perfect for starting the day. The service and overall atmosphere made my business stay comfortable and relaxing. Definitely one of the best choices in Rome!

I loved everything about this hotel! The rooms had everything you needed. Beds were very comfortable. The bathroom had an amazing deep Roman tub for soaking after an exhausting day. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I really really loved the breakfast. The AC was ice cold and much appreciated after long hot days. It was amazing! I will 100% stay here again next time I’m in Rome!

Upon arrival, our experience at reception wasn't quite up to the standard we expected. When we checked in, the receptionists were engaged in a conversation and didn't acknowledge us until they had finished a few minutes later. A simple greeting to let us know we'd been seen and that they’d be with us soon would have made a much better first impression. One issue my partner experienced was that the hotel doesn't provide irons or ironing boards. Instead, they offered a clothes steamer, which wasn't powerful enough for thicker fabrics such as chinos and heavy linen. Unfortunately, the steamer had a fault where it spat out hot water, causing a minor burn. While the hotel does offer a dry-cleaning service, it is quite expensive, and it seems unreasonable to have to pay for this when a quick iron would have been sufficient. I would expect a 4* hotel to have ironing facilities. Aside from these issues, the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout the rest of our stay, always greeting us warmly when we returned from dinner. Our room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and it a great size. The rooftop has a lovely view. The restaurant was excellent, with great food and attentive service at both lunch and dinner. We didn't have breakfast, so we can't comment on that. The bar area is pretty as is the terrace for dining, but the seats are a little worn. Overall, we had a positive experience and enjoyed our stay. With a warmer welcome at check-in, the addition of irons and ironing boards, and a little maintenance on the rooftop, the hotel could offer an even better guest experience.
